Good morning. Sunny and 52 heading for 75. Warming up tomorrow and 90 by Wednesday. No rain in sight until Friday.
Dave was here yesterday and replaced the door handle. As I suspected, we had to use parts from the old one to make the new one fit, but as long as it works, I'm good. He also found the issue with the gutter. He brought his big ladder so he could get above it. He says 'Wow, these gutters are full of water'. Did he think I was kidding when I told him? He moved the ladder down to the end where it's been flowing over into the yard and took off one of the leaf guard things. The downspout was totally clogged, he thinks from all the pouring rain, the pollen, and the little things that fall off the maple trees on the other side of the yard, that it got through the guards and piled up and created a clog that wouldn't wash down. He used the hose and and washed everything out, then we pour some Clorox in them and let it sit a little while he did the door handle, and then rinsed it all down well so no bacteria and stuff build up. Should be good to go. All of the junk came gushing out and water was flowing as it should. That will be a relief the next time it rains.
Lily texted me last night that they're already looking for another place to move to. They don't have a written lease (big mistake, which I warned her about) and the landlord keeps saying he can throw them out on their ear anytime he wants. He also told her she could have her cats, now says unless they're kept outside, she has a month to get rid of them. I think he just wanted someone that would clean and paint the house inside, (which he was supposed to pay for the materials and didn't) and now he's looking for a reason to get rid of them. Says they aren't getting back their security deposit. I told her to take him to small claims court. The place is clean, nothing is broken, rent is up to date, and he has no reason to withhold it. She also found out that it's way too far away from town, so it takes her longer to get to work, etc. We tried to tell her all these things but they were in such a hurry to move out that they didn't listen. Live and learn.
Waiting for the lawn to dry out so I can mow while the temps aren't too hot.
Have a good day
