Hoping things are going ok for Mona out there. Came here to check on you, Mona! Stay safe! Sending
Speaking of cats, I was sitting out in my driveway last night late, on the phone w my sister, lights off, when I saw something shadowy walk by the car. I turned the lights on to see a white cat who looked skinny, dirty and cold. It’s bitterly cold here, in mid 20s with gusting winds. We put out a box with a couple of blankets in it on our front porch, and some food. Idk if it will come back. We might put out a trap to catch him, we’ll have to see if we can borrow one from Animal Control, which we’ve done before. Poor thing! Anything else I should do, cat people?
Well my sister last weekend decided to get married today due to her long time fiancé’s unexpected sudden retirement, so we had a lot of running around to do Monday and Tuesday (cake, flowers, ‘gift from mom’, get clothes ready, etc.) Did that this morning then had a luncheon and it was nice. Why drag things out?
All of you with so much snow, don’t hurt yourselves! We are expecting some snow this weekend, I think, hopefully after I finish my shifts so I can hunker down! (Yay!) We picked up a nice used snowblower in November that I saw at a second hand store and was in beautiful shape for next to nothing. ($100; same one usually around $800 at Lowe’s.) DH fired it up and it worked great. The other one we have wasn’t working right, but we haven’t had a lot of snow in the last several years, thankfully.
Making a french onion soup tonight with Swiss/gruyere cheese and french onion focaccia.
Enjoy the evening, all.
