Good morning. We never got a drop of rain, but we had a lot of wind.. It felt so nice outside after dinner, the breeze blew some of the heat and humidity away. It was cloudy when I got up, still breeze, still not humid and we're going to stay under 90 degrees today. I wish we'd get some rain, maybe a chance of showers tomorrow, and then none again until next Wednesday. My friend got home just in time for a 5 day 100= heatwave.

It's back to normal here. I need to clean today, I let it go for the most part while she was here, except for keeping up after the cats and their litter boxes. Laundry is in, and I just got the vacuum out so I'm going to get to work.

Summer called me in tears last night. She's been planning get an eagle tattoo in honor of Don for her birthday. She just hasn't decided on the exact picture yet. So last night, out of the blue, Luke texts her a picture of his new tattoo. In case you haven't guessed where this is going, he got a tattoo of an eagle. He does stuff like this just to upset her, so does her mother. She never should have told him what she was going to get. I'm trying to stay out of the family drama, but man, they make it hard!

Have a nice day

Just caught up. Been busy. Had two unexpected funerals to attend, one last week and one yesterday. Was beat when I got home last night as it was a lot of driving in heavy traffic. In a weird way it was nice being around where I grew up, though. And of course, with family I don’t get to see often enough. Work has been crazy busy, too.

PollyannaMom, I know what you mean about a weird weather day today. I sat outside with the dogs for a bit. It’s been a little warm here but nothing too, too bad. I’m enjoying my new bird bath and feeders out front.

Lynn, wow, you have been having some super hot weather down your way! Glad you had a nice visit with your friend.

@dazedx3 Sorry to hear about your upcoming revision and other surgery. And hope you like your new support group.

Happy Annivesary, taz! I love IHOP! My favorite is the steak and eggs. (Sounds kinda gross there, but it’s really good!) Or the burger.

Snowysmom, glad you have your upcoming trip to look forward to! Daily walks around the lake sound nice.

Mona, Mom had one of those chairs and one day it stopped working when she was in it and in the reclined position. It was tough getting her out, and it took us months to fix right. I called so many people. Chair repair people in our area are practically non-existent now. But fortunately, my brother had diagnosed it as an electrical issue, so a neighbor who’s an electrician was nice enough to come over and look at it, then get the part it needed. DH then got it back working again. It’s DH’s chair now and lives in our sunroom (and is still working!). I yell at him for 1) using it to push himself up out of it and 2) leaving it in the up position!

Apartment is coming along. We filled two small dumpsters and probably have two more to go. (Not just from apt but the cellar and two attics and around the yard.) DD picked out her flooring, wall color, cabinets, countertop and backsplash. We had to compromise on a couple of things she wanted an outside door that didn’t match our doors and we’re still negotiating about the kitchen and bathroom floors being torn up while we think they’re in good shape and want to keep them, with vinyl plank flooring in the living and bedroom replacing the old carpet. We’ll see how that goes. DD’s shoulder has been aching, she finally figured out it was from ripping up the carpet and moving so many things around. Got a taste of how hard this work can be on DH! He doesn’t say much but he’s always in some sort of pain from all the physical work he does. He had a recent small eye surgery and he’s doing well. We had a small scare a few nights afterward when he spiked a fever, but thankfully things were ok.

Dogs are good. Toto has a little growth in his mouth I have to have that checked out. (Some of his siblings had it and it hasn’t been cancerous or anything, thankfully, just an overgrowth of tissue as they age. He’ll be 11 this yr.) Enjoying the pool. Kids have been here. The outside looks nice. Mosquitos have been under control this year with not a lot of rain. We do get environmentally friendly spray once a month and this year it’s working. Makes such a difference! We can actually eat outside. I bought a new table and I like it better than the old one, it’s bigger and seats six. Saw a hack on IG about putting a Bundt pan around the umbrella and we planted some marigolds in it. Have gotten a lot of compliments on that!

Well I hope everyone has a nice rest of the week! 🐥

💕💍 Happy Anniversary @tazdev3225!

Ominous weather has passed, but it's still hot here. Kitty #2 had her vet appointment and did well - gained 2 ounces, heart sounds good, and her teeth are acceptable for her age. The bloodwork on her kidneys gets sent out, but the doc said they felt good - not enlarged or anything.

I'm now outside with the other one - who has decided to lay under the back deck where I can't quite reach her. So I'm hiding in a tiny patch of shade. Consolation prize - a butterfly landed on my foot!

(Please pardon the socks with sandals!)

Happy Anniversary dear Taz and extra hug with love to all.

Dear Pea, the chair seems to be working just fine overall now. Prayers it stays that way. Vivian, my pt, and I agreed the blessing of being stuck several times while reclined was by God's extra Mercy, I gained extra strength through that pt and exercise. Today, with Him, I was able to for the first time (Vivian told me to practice over the next week) get up from my my recliner chair and bed with no hands. Praise so deeply to God. Wow was that encouraging. I know with practice, by His Grace like everything else, it will become easier.

Vivian and I also agree on the goal of end of fall at the latest for me to be completely back to normal. She well knows it is my desire to take the care and time to fully and permanately heal. I do not want this to happen again ever obviously or almost worst have an injury setback. One step forever at a time to, with, and for Jesus. My heartfelt loving thanks to all of you for you and your support of me. Love to you all.

Thanks all. We spent a quiet day at home and then did go to IHOP. Jim had a burger and onion rings which looked so good, but unfortunately, they are fried in the same oils and the fish and shrimp so I couldn't have one. I did smell it though and enjoyed that at least. This allergy is so difficult because so many items are cross contaminated with the way they are prepared that fried foods are almost always off my radar. Thankfully McDonalds of all places has a separate fryer for the fish filet so I can get fries there. I went with breakfast for dinner and had some bacon and french toast left over for breakfast tomorrow. The waitress was really very friendly and Jim wants to go back again when she is working.

@PollyannaMom - that looks like a Red Admiral Butterfly. I get them quite often around here as I have a Butterfly Bush in my front yard.

I was supposed to go to the Phillies game tomorrow night. The tickets were free from Mikeys graduation but we are supposed to be getting rain so probably won't be going. I just have so much to do over the next couple of weeks that I'm not that upset about it. The good thing is that even though we have high temps the humidity seems lower and my bedroom is not unbearably hot. Poor ductwork makes colling off the upstairs difficult. We decided when we need to replace the AC we are going to invest in upgrading some of the duct work.

Not much else going on around here, hope you all have a pleasant night

Hello new around here, nice to meet everyone, i have a bad back at the moment so am feeling very sorry for myself, but i am sat in the garden and i am being acompanyed by many wild birds witch is nice a black bird just popped down to see me and have a nibble and a bath :-) hope everyone has a lovely day ita 11;12am here in a cold uk the weather is crazy for this time of year i need the heat!

@tazedev Sounds like you had a nice anniversary dinner. Happy Anniversary.

@flyingdumbo127 Great news about your PT progress. It sounds like you have a good PT helping you.

Good morning. It is 66 here now with temps heading into the upper 80. It is supposed to rain off and on in the afternoon. Owen's party tomorrow may be a washout. The forecast keeps changing to add in more rain. Kenny is still getting the bouncy house today just in care they can go outside. If not, they can play inside and still have fun. I was in the office yesterday. Traffic was a bit heavier than usual at 5 am which surprised me. I thought more people would be on vacation. I went to the grief group yesterday and I was the only one there. Actually it was kind of nice as I got a one on one session with the grief counselor. She is really good. I wish she did private practice. She does a reading at the end of each session and this one was about hikers talking about middle miles. The middle miles are the hard ones when you are working to get to the to of the mountain but can't see it yet and don't even really know if it exists. Others say the mountain top does exist and they have been there. I do feel like I am in the middle miles. It is hard, grueling work some days especially when something comes out of the woodwork to set me back again. I really felt like that reading was for me. They may not get funding to continue the grief group so I have to wait to see. I do hope it continues at least into the fall months.

Off to work. Have a good day.

...here in a cold uk the weather is crazy for this time of year i need the heat!
I would send you some of mine if I could! - It's been in or near the 90s all week here (low 30s, I think, on your scale) and really humid. Hope your back is feeling better soon!

@Snowysmom, that is a great analogy! - I hope the funding continues (or if not, that she picks up private practice hours and you can still see her.)

I noticed a lot of traffic yesterday too - even in the middle of the day and opposite the expected direction. Maybe people held off on errands earlier this week because of the heat?

Happy Friday Everyone!

Haven't been on for a couple of weeks but I'm all caught up.

Worked from home a couple of days last week and then I was off a few days. Still worked the other job though so not completely off. I had Mia one day last week so that was a fun day. Yesterday she graduated out of the NICU program. She finally hit 24 lbs.!

Not feeling top notch this week. I thought I had a sinus infection but now I'm thinking it's allergies. Can't breathe out of my nose so I haven't been using the cpap which makes me very tired during the day. I'm sneezing and have watery eyes, so I'm guessing allergies. Leaving work at noon today to finish up at home.

We've been having super hot weather too. We did get some rain around 4th of July. Evan brought over some Hostas on Sunday night so I split a few of them and ended up with 7 plants that I had to get in the ground. Did that on Tuesday night, they look nice.

I'm off tomorrow so I'll be spending the entire day in the pool. Going to get the laundary and cleaning done tonight, hopefully I can stay awake to do it. Yesterday when I got home from work, I kept falling asleep on the couch, had no energy to do anything. Really need to water the flowers tonight since I didn't last night.

The new kitten, Tiana, is fitting in well at the house. She's very playful and I think she gets on Remy's nerves quite a bit. She's always tackeling Remy and rolling around on the floor with her, not by Remy's choice. She's in their meowing at the top of her lungs so I have to go in the room and break it up. She's been playing a lot with Cheddar. Remy just doesn't want to have anything to do with the other cats.

That's about it. Have a great day and don't over do it in the heat!

Good morning everyone

@weebo :welcome: I'll be glad to send you some of our heat too, we hit 102 on Tuesday. I don't think anyone else in our little group is from the UK, so it's nice to see some new people joining us. Drop in whenever you feel like it, and I hope your back feels better. I have a bad back now and then, so I know how you're feeling.

Yesterday was a perfect weather day. We only got to 80 degrees with no humidity. It was nice to be able to go outside and actually be able to breath in the air. No yardwork to do, since our lawns all look like we live in the desert, but I spent some time in the garden. I see another tomato ripening, a yellow one this time. So far it's not rotting on the bottom but I'm keeping my eye on it.

@Snowysmom -since you're reaching the "middle miles", it sounds like progress is being made, despite your not really feeling like it sometimes. Keep climbing!

@footballmouse Welcome back, we've missed you! Hope that you feel better soon

@flyingdumbo127 Yay Mona! Glad you are making progress with your PT, and were able to get out of bed with no hands. Progress all around

News on the home front. Gracie got her braces off Wednesday and was able to eat corn on the cob for the first time in forever. Summer sent me a picture, Gracie was so excited she was all smiles, lol. Today is Lily's first day of college orientation. This summer is definitely flying by.

My friend in CO is in the middle of a heat wave too. They are supposed to hit near 105 for the next 3 days, We're only going to be 80's today, but then the temps start rising again, we'll hit 100 by Tuesday. No rain in sight for either of us.

I'm off of here to do some cleaning while I have the windows open. I'll close them up when I'm done and turn the ac back on, but it's nice to have some fresh air blowing through

Have a great Friday everyone.

Mona, using it more may actually help speed the progress of your therapy!

I pray so and believe so too dear Lynn, thanks. Both Vivian and Dr. S, our podiatrist, have assured me that as I regain strength through pt. All will normalize. Dad and I both have appointments with Dr. S on Monday morning. I last saw her as a patient in March. Dad saw her in April. I was able to briefly chat with her too because she kindly came to check in on me. Dad is covered to see Dr. S every 2 1/2 months. We pay for me out of pocket.

Mercy of God I have made such progress since the end of March. I can also now share with Dr. S about Vivian, our agreed goals, and ask her some questions too. She and her staff truly are so kind. Dad and I when we get to Disneyland God willing next May will definitely get them all something.

MId afternoon and early evening hugs to all.

Good morning. It is 74 here and cloudy. Rain is expected of and on today. Kenny got the bouncy house for Owen's party today. I think the kids will have to dodge rain drops. I have a haircut appt this morning which I so much need. Then off to Kenny's for the party.

Have a good Saturday.

Good morning. Forecast- sunny and ❤️‍🔥. They say 30% chance of rain, but they may as well say zero. We haven't had a drop in more than 2 weeks.

It's back to being too hot to do anything outside. I'm tired of being inside. There's only so much cleaning I can do and so much tv I can watch. I may get a puzzle out today and start it. Then I have to watch the cats so they don't jump on the table and knock pieces off. One for one, his favorite activity is to steal things and drop them places in the house I can't find them, lol

Stay cool everyone, have a good Saturday
