Good morning. Hot isn't the word for today, we may hit 102. Slight chance of a storm this afternoon, yeah right. Better chance for storms tomorrow. It's gotten so I can only stand to go outside very early in the morning or around 8 at night to water. I can't stand this heat. The outside cats are faring well. They hide in shady spots and only come out for water and meals. After dinner when the sun starts to set, they are all laying on what's left of the lawn enjoying some air.

I have laundry in and already took trash down. Going to make grocery list. I have an appointment for a haircut tomorrow and I finally talked Summer into getting hers cut. She has very thick long hair, more than half way down her back. I don't know how she can stand it in this heat. I told her I'd pay for it if she gets it cut. I hope she gets at least a few inches trimmed off.

Nothing else new.
Have a nice day

Hello everyone.

Not much new to report, status quo. Got a new dinghy to take a ride in on the evenings, the water at our dock is to low to keep our boat and get out at low tide, although the kids can keep their boat w/ the mud motor on it there. So got a little hard bottom inflatable, we'll use it to take a putz out to the river now and again. Pool is just about done, should be able to enjoy it for most of August & some Sept. so that is nice. Hot as hell where we are as it is in many other places. Down at our North Carolina office, and hoping I can be home before Thursday night to avoid shore traffic. Gotta go out to a jobsite this afternoon for a meeting, outdoors. Can't complain though, the guys I'm meeting with are working out in it all day. I've worked on & at municipal wastewater treatment plants my whole life, but there is nothing compared to the treatment plant at a chicken processing plant smell. And on a hot day, whew.
Some news this past weekend, huh?
No idea what dinner will look like tonight, after I leave the jobsite I may come back up the road about a hour and check out the town our office is in. Maybe take myself out for dinner. Husband is driving down tomorrow or Thursday for a few days (we trade on and off to make it easier to deal w/ the mutts when we can) and we will probably pass each other on 95!

Hot here, too, as everywhere, I guess. We have a heat advisory in place. Haven’t decided yet what I want to do today, may just stay inside where it’s cool and take a dip in the pool later. I should sit down and make a bunch of appointments but I really don’t feel like doing that.

@easyas123 So glad your pool’s almost done and you can get in some swim time for a couple of months. Yes, crazy weekend.

Mona, glad you are making some progress and seeing people you need to see.

Lynn, stay cool! It’s nice you’re so caring about the cats. I’m sure they love you for it.

@bobbiwoz So nice to see little fishies in your pond! I’d love to have one of those. My SIL does.

@footballmouse I’m glad your bosses gave you the day off. I was going to say, put in for the time if they asked you to do all the planning and prep for the picnic, it’s only right. That’s a lot of work and it sounds like it went well.

Not a lot going on here right now. DS did a 50 mile tandem flight yesterday and is checked off now to do the next one on his own. His flight instructor quizzed him on where they were and other things but didn’t say much else in order to see if DS knows what he’s doing, lol. I don’t worry as much anymore, he always comes home afterward with a big smile on his face. Officially living with girlfriend now. Which means I can now move the treadmill into a spot he wanted to do something else with. 😝 He comes over to mow and help out (helped put a new battery in my car Sunday), and slept here the other night when he had an early appt. The dogs miss him and love when he’s here. Grady slept with him though he’s been sleeping with us. (Poor G, so many losses!)

DD bought a nice recliner chair for her apt yesterday. Blue and white paisley, with push button recline and even a built in USB port! Got a great deal on it as it was consigned and just one year old, probably not used much as it looks brand new. Getting it in the car was something, it was so hot out. DH met her at the place after work. She was inspired to get it when we visited a nice furniture store Sunday. She’d found a similar chair there (but not quite as nice, imo) that she fell in love with when she saw it, but the price was almost $2K! So when she saw this one she was wow’d, and it had a much better price at $400. She didn’t buy it on Sunday, wanted to think about it, but called early Monday and thankfully it was still there, and she purchased it over the phone. I think she’ll probably be able to do something similar for a sofa. I hate to see her spend a ton of money on items for an apt then have to potentially change it all out when she someday buys a house! (Like we did!)

Last night we made meatballs and cooked them on the Blackstone outside to keep the house cool, and raviolis and salad. They were good and we had a lot of leftovers despite DD’s boyfriend eating with us, but we’ll have them during the week. I am planning to make some pizzas today with maybe a caprese salad. I didn’t see anything rotten in our garden but not a lot of growth, either. Idk.

I hope everyone has a good Tuesday. 🐣

Ptecious pups dear Pea! Thank you for sharing and your kind words.

Good to see you Easyas. Please always stay travel safe.

May all of you in heat please stay hydrated and take care. Be kind to yourselves and don't overdo things.

Late afternoon/Evening hugs to all. Thinking extra of AuntieMe3 and pray she is okay and has just been happily busy.

I just posted this in the Gratitude thread and want to share also with my dear Quacker family that I just logged onto Walmart to check on an order. Should any of you be interested, for the next hour Walmart+ is half off. Also, to any of you with Ralphs (Kroger) Supermarkets, Boost (Delivery membership) is half off through July 23rd. Just trying to save all of you friends some money. Sweet Dreams later with love always.

Pea Your doggies are adorable. They both look so happy.
EasyAs good to see you.

Good morning. It is another hot one coming. Last night we had a tornado warning in my area. Thankfully it expired safely. The bad storms were mostly to the north of here but we did get some. I had my therapy appt yesterday. It was a good one. I am on the waiting list for the other therapist who does healing therapy. My current therapist said her colleague may have openings in the Fall. Today is my 48th wedding anniversary. It is a tough day but work, walking, and an HOA meeting tonight will keep me busy. I hope to get to the gym to do the treadmill too. I will get the usual pepperoni and mushroom pizza that we got every anniversary. It is my way of honoring the day.

Have a good day. Off to work!

good morning. Another hot one here but we had a bad storm go through last night and it didn't feel as humid when I walked Chewie. I saw on Facebook there are a lot of downed trees in the area and people without power. I will survey the area when I take Ella to work this morning. And Jim has the foot doctor. I did want to head to AAA as I need to get Ella her tickets for DIsney and I saw on line there is a sale but I'm not sure how E-Tickets work. There are several trees down on that route so I may need to figure out a different way to ask my questions. I also want to fine tune the cruise. One month from today I head to Seattle and 2 months from today I head to DIsney.

I have the kindest neighbor. Several years ago I had the neighbor sent from the Devil living next door to me. I was actually afraid to leave my house when he was home. Thankfully he moved. Several neighbors stuck by us including the one directly across the street from us. He goes on walks with Jim most days. He came over yesterday to look at my ceiling fan in the bedroom. We had a heck of a time getting it down as all the screws were hard to access and then the person who installed it used silicone caulk to adhere the housing to the ceiling. Jay will do some patchwork for me when he replaces the deck doors and works on that wall. I am truly thankful the fan stopped working as there were Handi-Wipes inside the fan. We could have had a fire. I bought a new fan last night and the neighbor is going to install it for us. I need to get him something as a thank you as he will not take money. Not sure what yet, maybe something in Alaska. He will check on the cats and the house while we are gone too.

@Pea-n-Me - love the pictures of the dogs. My daughter has a German Shepherd and he is a sweetheart. I know you have had shepherds before, were they prone to skin issues? Murph gets them to the point that he winds up on all kinds of meds.

Hope you all have a great day.

Happy Hump Day!🐪

We never did get the storms they were predicting, stayed south of Cincinnati 🌦️. Hopefully my grass guy comes today for my grass. I actually turned the AC off this morning and opened the windows. Today it should be 84 and then the next 2 days in the 70's.😁

Jacob's shepherd, G, has horrible skin issues. She's always at the vet getting medicine.😟

Watching Mia tonight at her house. We'll probably go for a walk and play outside. I bought her a new book so we can read that before she goes to bed.

Parts of the new Superman movie is being filmed in Cincy this week. Tomorrow they are closing part of the highway that I take between 4-6 pm to shoot some scenes 😖. I already told my boss that I'm leaving work at 3 pm, I'm not getting stuck in that traffic.🚗

Back to work. Have a great day!

Taz dev You have a couple of nice trips coming. In a little more than 3 weeks I am off to Bermuda. No Disney until Dec.

@footballmouse have fun with Mia.

We are expecting storms to come in right around the time I would be walking to the HOA meeting. If the storms are here or imminent I will not be going to the meeting. I am not walking in a storm. They do send out the minutes and it really isn't an important meeting, more of a meet the vendors and listen to them talk kind of meeting. There is only parking for a few cars and those are saved for people who have mobility issues. I hope everyone expecting storms stay safe and they pass by quickly.

The storms they promised us would materialized, materialized above us and to the east of us. We might have gotten a total of 50 raindrops. The sun is out and the temp is 90 and hot again. Now we have no chance of rain until next Tuesday, this is crazy!

We got our haircuts. Summer had 13" cut off of hers, and it's still well below her shoulders. The stylist thought it would be cute if she put it in 2 braids, lol. She's a little old for braids, but she left it there until we got home. It took her so long, I had time to go into Walmart and get all my groceries. She had just come out when I got back to the car to load everything in. We hit Aldi's for fresh fruit, and then stopped and had lunch before coming home.

I just went out and watered and picked and threw away even more rotted tomato's. Summer took home a bag of cherry ones, and picked a couple of larger ones that were starting to ripen, to catch them before they rotted. I brought in 2 of the big Hillbilly ones I've been keeping my eye on. I don't want to lose them. We found 1 more good sized zucchini hiding in one of the plants, but the rest of the squash plants may as well be pulled out. This heat has done them in.

Have a nice evening

Welcome to our kind thread, Mowerras :)

Dear Lynn, yay on the haircut. God willing I will get my own hair cut at last before the end of the year. A haircut always feels so refreshing.

Good late afternoon and evening hug to all.

Tom extra hug, Bobbi! Gus and you, too, my friend, always :)

I once had a collge professor whose hair was incredibly long. I have no idea how she lived with it for so long.
I do remember being semi shocked when she finally got it cut. I would think having that much hair would not only be hot and hard to keep clean and untangled but a heavy weight as well! No thanks.
