Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

I watch Hallmark movies because they are light, implausible, and not the news.
I took a more sarcastic approach to the Hallmark movies in an earlier post. But after reading your post I can also see it in a softer light. Kinda of gives one a feel good feeling and an escape from the news that is so negative.

It really is no different if I watch some implausible shoot'em up action movie. ie The Expendables.1, 2. 3 and 4 . I do catch myself saying there is no way that can happen. 🙂

So cheers to you Snowysmom!

Here is the video of tonight's Candlelight Processional at Disneyland. It was nice to see Brie Larson warm up to the audience and get people on her side. She seemed nervous and shy at first and got quite emotional at times, but that helped win people over. The weather was cool, but mild. A really fun evening!

Hope this brings encouragement and joy to those who are struggling this holiday season:

Spaceman Part of what makes movies watchable is that you know this could never happen in real life but the story line keeps you interested. Watching it can give you a good feeling and is a nice distraction. Enjoy your movies!

Another rainy dismal day here. It doesn't help my mood at all! But, today I am going to the science museum with both kids and 5 of the grandkids. Aimee is staying home with Sam. He is at that age where he does not want to stay in is stroller and just wants to go his own way. When I was talking with Jeff yesterday Sam kept tipping over his lunch dish thinking it was funny. I am driving to Jeff's house and going in with them. Kenny is driving to a T station and taking the kids on the Green line. He asked if I wanted to ride the Green line with them and I said no thanks. I am not a fan of the subway in Boston. I did my time on it when I was younger. But the grandkids love it.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning. Another gray, dismal, rainy day here also. It certainly doesn't help my mood in the least.

I didn't give up on the elliptical, I went down cellar at midnight determined I was going to get that screw out. And I finally did. It took me until almost 2 am, but the whole thing is assembled, and amazingly everything works, lol. I wasn't going to let it defeat me, but I was ready to. I got hold of Amazon and told them to cancel the replacement. Then I emailed the company , who was less than helpful when telling me to buy one that's less complicated to put together or buy one already assembled. Yeah, so what was I supposed to do with their $300 one? Just let it sit there and have 2 side by side, lol! They won't admit that their installation guide, or the video is wrong, even when I proved it to them. Both screws had to come off, not just one as they keep claiming. But it's done, and I have a working machine, so I'm happy about that.

Have a nice Sunday everyone!

Luckyrabbit, I was thinking about the DL Candlelight Processional a little while ago! God willing, I would so love to get to experience that again--this time with you and some others from this kind thread! Always glad to know that it took place. Forever good to see dear you post, too, of course:hug:.

Snowysmom:hug:I've never been on a subway but don't blame you! I did take preschoolers a few times on a bus to the zoo. That was an adventure for sure. Your grandkids are just precious. I am so thankful to God you have them. How beyond blessed they are to have YOU.

Lynn, big:hug:and extra prayers of peace my friend. Love your Christmas Pooh picture! I would love to do the Christmas time meet and greet with Pooh and friends one day again at DL.

Today is the first day of the Holy Season of Advent. 🙏 each of you walk closer to and with Jesus to the Manger anew. Rest in Him. Trust always in Him. He loves and is with you. Remember, of course, I care, too! I am sure praying if it is His will, for healing of my feet within the next few weeks. This sure has been a trial :( I am trying to use the walker more. That definitely gets my legs stronger which helps my feet. My feet still just plain scream and hurt most all the time :( I will be calling Dr. Y, the podiatrist, tomorrow or for sure by Tuesday, to confirm that she did get my email from last Wednesday. She had asked me when we had spoken to follow up with her last week. I very clearly shared with her what day to day was for me and how deeply all this pain is impacting me and my dad. I told her what I was doing and that it is my prayer to be all well by Christmas. I did ask her outright what else can I do. I would like a reply. Thank you all always for your prayers and continued support and love. Happy Sunday to all.

Two smiles to share with you from our Merrytime Cruise on the Wish.

A surprise Christmas card from a fellow cruiser, plus my Mocha’s art. Thank you Tom, he gets out early for me to have my morning wake-up!

:hug:and thank you dear Bobbi. I enjoyed watching online worship as always. I also miss extra right now as advent starts not being at church. I know what matters only and forever is being present with and to/for Christ. I pray to walk more humbly with and toward Him this season. Wishing each of you peace and a good afternoon.

The sun came out and the temp is 60. I put the bottom half of the pantry cabinet together by myself, but need Summer to help me do the top part. The top boards are taller and I won't be able to hold them by myself to put the screws and locking things in. My back is saying enough for the day anyhow, after the eliptical this morning and the cabinet this afternoon. I'm taking the rest of the day off. Going outside for a walk while it's nice out.

Lynn you are very determined and persistent. I am glad you did get the elliptical together. It is very rainy here and around 42. Enjoy the 60 degree weather.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you hear back from Dr. Y with some good advice on the next steps for your feet.

The Museum of Science was nice. I loved being with my sons and grandkids. Kenny and his kids had an adventure on the subway. Part of the green line was down for work. They were on one train for a bit, then had to change trains, then take a bus, and then they walked from the last station to the museum which was only about 10 minutes. Of course the kids loved the adventure. Then they had to do the reverse to get back to the car and home. I am so glad I did not go on that adventure. Jeff drove and it was nice and easy to just park in the garage. It was fun to see the grandkids have a good time and learn things too. We had lunch at the cafe. Now I am back at the condo trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the day and evening.

Have a good evening.

I hope the walk was most enjoyable!

I will be in WDW with friends from Tomorrow to Saturday. My oldest son, Matt, is working in FL this week. I was able to get him a one bedroom for Thursday night, so he and I and maybe my DSis, can have dinner on Thursday. I got an ADR at Turf Club for the three of us.

Matt lives in MA, and we don’t see each other often enough! Imagine how happy I was to get a room for him this week!

:cheer2:you are taking the rest of the day off Lynn, at last!

:thanks:dear Snowysmom. I am trying so hard to walk more with the walker. I pray that each step is one closer to healing as it draws me closer to Jesus. Just so not easy or fun :( Being in pain sure takes a toll. I will be calling Dr. Y in the morning. I am so thankful, so very grateful you had a good time with your grandkids that always brings me joy to read:grouphug:

:hug:Bobbi and enjoy your time with Matt and ::MickeyMotoo!

Dad and I are waiting on one Amazon package this afternoon. All quiet otherwise. Have a good rest of the day friends.

Whoa Lynn that is crazy! Please take extra care my dear friend and stay safe! Great time it sounds like right now for a pajamas and cocoa! Watch a fun movie while you are at it.

No Amazon delivery yet. Today has been harder for me feet wise but MUCH better doing more walking wise. Extra prayers for pain relief and permanent healing so appreciated. Thank you!

Dad postcard surprise one extra update after having re-organized all contributions. Do any of you live in or know anyone who lives in the following states: Idaho, Montana, or New Jersey? If YES, please PM me asap! I have extra blank postcards from each of these states. I would love someone living in them to PM/email (I would give you my email address to give a non Disboard member if needed) me a message for my dad that I could print out and paste onto the postcard. No snail mail required. Thank you so very much. Please let me know by the end of this coming week. God Bless You.

Thank you for sharing! It brought back memories of the one we saw in WDW.
But, today I am going to the science museum with both kids and 5 of the grandkids.
How fun!

Good for you! Glad you got it done.
I did ask her outright what else can I do. I would like a reply.
Hope you get some helpful news tomorrow!

Joe cooked breakfast this morning. He made Taquitos, his specialty. Then he put together Lou Lou's new bike. Santa left it at our house for assembly.

I sort of watched church online this morning. After being able to go to church two weeks in a row, I really miss not being there and found it hard to pay attention.

Just piddled most of the day. Stood outside and talked with our neighbors for awhile. They told us that they were going to put their house on the market next Spring. The property has become more than they can take care of. We bought our lot from them and have been neighbors for 29 years.

Carol dropped by to pick up some things while the kids were at Christmas program practice. Then my favorite cousin called to chat for a few minutes.

I made Beef Tips and Mushrooms with mashed potatoes and green beans for dinner.

Have a good night!

Thank you, dear Kirby! All I know is by God's Grace I sure have been trying my best to walk more this weekend with the walker. My legs are absolutely stronger. My poor feet just hurt most all the time :( Not good or fun. I pray to sleep better tonight and God willing wake up feeling better tomorrow and also able to shower. Don't ever take even being able to take a shower for granted friends. That is probably the hardest thing for me to do right now. Hugs and love to all always. Sweet Dreams.

@flyingdumbo127 Thinking of you and hoping for better news today.

Kirby Good to hear from you. Too bad about your neighbors but it sounds like they are doing the right thing for them.

Bobbiwoz Have a fun trip to Disney. Nice that you can see your DS.

Good morning. Today will be a warmer day, around 50. But tomorrow the cold comes back in. It looks like it will this way for the week, cold days and then warmer days. I prefer the warmer ones so no complaints about that. Tomorrow I have the inspector coming to do a condo inspection. I am hoping this gives me some info so I can stop worrying about what will and can go wrong. I need some peace and calm in my life. The builder still has a stop work order and is not doing any punch list items aka items that need to be done under warranty. The town even shut that down which I disagree with. That is only hurting the residents, not the builder. Stopping new construction from being done hits him in the wallet and gets his attention. Punch list items do not get him any money and he has to pay people to go to condos and fix things.

Off to work. Busy work day.

Have a good day.

I agree! He should be fixing things precisely now - while he has time because he can't do new building.

Lynn, good for you for getting things put together!!

Don't ever take even being able to take a shower for granted friends. That is probably the hardest thing for me to do right now.
Might there be a local organization that could loan you a shower seat? I know my DH's Lodge has a couple of walkers, wheelchairs, etc. that they loan out when someone has been injured.

Good morning. Back to the cooler weather again. It's 42 and our high will be 44. At least the winds and rains are gone for now.
I have a few Hallmark movies recorded for when I'm in the mood. I'm getting into a couple of Netflix series, and I watched 2 of the Quantum Leaps I have recorded. I don't have much else recorded. Maybe when new shows start again I'll find something more interesting to watch.

Luke messaged me last night and said he'll be coming up soon, so if I have anything that needs to be done, make a list. I told him there's a brand new cabinet sitting in the box waiting for him, lol. Hopefully Summer and I will have the pantry one put together by the end of this week. She has to take a trip to Morgantown again today for her infusion and to bring her husband back to his work pick up place.

I feel like doing some baking, but since it's only me now, I don't want to make anything that makes a lot of something. Maybe I'll make my English Teacake cookies. They aren't really Christmas cookies, but it was the only time of year my Mother ever made them, so they became a Christmas tradition for us.
@Snowysmom I hope the inspection goes well, and that stinks that the builder isn't finishing the punch lists.

Have a good Monday all
