Podiatrist Update is I did speak with M, Dr. Y's receptionist. M acknowledged finally (took almost 5 minutes) that oh yes, the doctor did get my email. I even had to tell her what my email address was AND verify the address I used. Not good. I made it very clear that I understand and respect the doctor has other patients. I have felt a lack of communication. I also reminded her that the email address under the doctor's contact information is wrong. No apology for anything! :( M simply said she would send Dr. Y a message asking her to read my email and get back to me ideally today. I let her know any suggestions especially with the weekend here would be welcome. I did also tell her I would certainly expect to hear by the end of Monday. Dad asked whether I also plainly told M, should I not receive a reply that is the end of Dr. Y for me. I didn't quite say that yet but perhaps should have! It would be that is for sure. Dad also said he doubts I will hear from her. I know regardless and give thanks God's will, will be done. I do wish of course, Dr. Y would at least acknowledge me!

I pray to always believe the best in everyone. I sincerely do. I also well remember as I have posted a super kind late (sadly he passed away from cancer years ago) TMJ specialist reminding me years ago that it is up to me to be an advocate for myself. I am the person placing my trust in any healthcare professional dentist or doctor. I am also the person paying them and who may be in pain due to their choices or lack thereof. Any relationship needs to be a partnership and one I feel comfortable with. I sure don't right now with Dr. Y :(

Thank you all of dear you extra for your love and prayers!

Great job dear Bobbiwoz and Tom!🧩Dad and I neither have puzzle patience or long term space for a larger puzzle like that which is why we stick to 100 pieces which these days are sure hard to find! A puzzle right now does sound like a cozy and fun thing. Cool and overcast day here. Not yet 4pm. Dad agrees that already it feels MUCH later. Be cozy everyone and have a good evening. Love to all.

This is my last post about Dr. Y. I am officially done with her! Dr. Y did at last email me a reply. No apology, no nothing, no help either :( I did thank her for replying. I also clearly told her to have M, her receptionist, cancel my October 26th appointment. I will be seeking other treatment!

In my Wednesday email to her, I had specifically let her know that right now I need immediate relief. I asked what are any other (non Voltaren/more ibuprofen suggestions). I also shared that a cool towel/ice only aggravates my pain, it does not help at all. I am trying to walk around the apartment a little more. I only wear slippers no shoes--I had attached a picture of my brand-new never worn Skechers as well. I asked her for sock recommendations and also about a bathmat that was recommended to me. That she said looked good and to try. Dad and I already decided it's not worth the cleaning hassle!

What were her recommendations? Exercises, ice, and to buy (spend hundreds of dollars in other words) on expensive mostly online only slippers. Same with sneakers. Zip on my new Skechers or even any insert ideas. Yeah. Very disheartening and disappointing. But we now know! Grateful to have seen her initially. Dad as I told, she did give me the peace of mind that at least according to her, what's going on is simply unhappy feet at being active again and nothing more.

I will be reaching out to Pastor L, a retired pastor who I am still close with and anyone else I can think of too. Dad's primary as I may have already shared recommended someone who would want a minimum $400 for an initial visit! Not happening! Grateful to have options, of course. As a human, I am disappointed especially to now go into another weekend hurting.

I give extra thanks to know no matter what God has me. He long has my feet covered and all will work out according to His will. What a blessing of Grace! I also give Him extra thanks tonight for all of YOU, my dear Quacker family.

Sweet dreams to all of you with love! Please take care of your feet, friends!

@flyingdumbo127 I am so sorry the doctor did not help you with your issues. It is difficult to have foot pain and trying to find relief. I don't have any advice to offer, just thoughts and prayers for you.

Quick good morning. I am off to the condo to meet the movers. Yesterday it was 2 years since Chris passed so I had a tough day and today is not much easier. I am trying to keep busy and with the movers, I will. Jeff called me and we talked. He walks in the Boston Public Gardens each day. He walks over the bridge where the swan boats are. Usually there are some Asian men playing a small violin type instrument. Thursday as Jeff walked to the bridge, there was a guy playing a funeral type dirge on bagpipes. When Jeff crossed the bridge to the other side, there was a guy playing Here Comes the Sun on guitar. Chris loved the Beatles and always played their songs on his guitar. Also I know more was meant than just that. I know this was a sign from him. I guess he picked Jeff to give the sign to as he knew Jeff would tell me. Even Jeff realized what it meant. That was a bit comforting. Now I need to get out of this limbo I am in.

Have a good Saturday.

Awww, I love that!

The anniversaries are always hard. In general, though, I think you doing better and better. You probably don't see the changes yourself, because they're small from on day to the next, but you are definitely making progress. And we're always here for those moments that don't feel that way.

Good morning everyone. Gray outside right now, but calling for sun and 77.

23 years ago, I was standing on the beach at sunset in Myrtle Beach SC saying "I do" to Don. There have been a lot of ups and downs since then, but I can't say that I would change a day of the time we've spent together.!

@Snowysmom It may have been 2 years since your Chris passed, but even today he still sends you signs that he's with you, and watching you from above. I call that true love, hang onto those feelings, even through the sadness.

No major plans for the day. Same Saturday chores as always. I think we're going to have the Omaha Steaks filet mignons on the grill tonight. Usually we have crab cakes, but I might want those for tomorrow. I did get a small Black Forest cake for our dessert.

Have a wonderful last day of September!

:grouphug:Snowysmom, I completely agree with our friends PollyannaMom and Lynn! God is absolutely making sure He lets you know in an extra way He and Chris are with you, dear friend. By His Grace, all of us are here for you with care and love, prayers, too. I also love that God used the man playing the guitar and Jeff to be bringers of extra peace to dear you! Thank you for your feet prayers. Someone else suggested I try the old-fashioned remedy of warm water and Epsom salt. Can't hurt! Dad will get a plastic basin at the 99 Cent Only Store and hopefully the salt, too and I will try it tomorrow. There is no way I would easily be able to get up again if I sat down in our bathtub! Plus, I also use unscented body wash so wouldn't want to be taking more of an Epsom salt bath all-around just on my feet. Have any of you ever tried this?

Dr. Y did email me one last time. I wrote her back reiterating to cancel my appointment! I will probably have to call a few days before my scheduled end of October appointment to make sure it was cancelled! She said should I keep it we could, "discuss orthotics, (something she previously had no comment on), cortisone injections (no thanks), or physical therapy. In other words. Nothing for this weekend here and now. I am relieved to have moved on from her! Thank you all so deeply for your extra care and support and love. Have a great last day of September, friends!

Well, we have a bag in our bathroom closet, so one of must have at some point.

I definitely think it's worth a try!

Just checking in after the movers left and I am back for lunch. The movers were so kind and so good. It went smoothly except one dining room chair arm was broken going into storage. I bought insurance so I will make a claim. Now I have to empty the boxes. There isn't quite as much stuff as I thought so that was a nice surprise. One of the movers cut open the tape on all the boxes I need to empty so it would make it easier for me. I found a penny stuck to one of the dressers after they unwrapped it from being in storage. Penny from heaven? I know the dresser was penny free when it left.

@flyingdumbo127 My Dad used epsom salt soaks for alot of aches and pains including feet. It sounds like it may be worth a try.

Good afternoon thread save dear Quacker Family💕

I've been wearing my 👟for an hour or so. My feet still hurt however it is easier overall to walk in them. Tomorrow morning, I need to try and remember to put them on to begin the day and see whether that makes a bigger difference. I also do feel how hard and not level in places our floor is wearing the sneakers. I can definitely get how slippers and only socks can be a foot disaster. Dad will buy the epsom salt tomorrow and we both will pray it helps us both! I really do prefer a natural option and one unlike that awful Voltaren won't immediately hurt my poor feet. That was just awful! Hugs to all with love! :)

Mona, so sorry that you have not found relief for your feet. Hopefully the Epsom salts will work. When the kids have had a stressful day, Carol has them soak in the bathtub in Epsom salts. It seems to help. My mom got to the point in her older years that she could not walk around the house without shoes on. Glad you are putting the podiatrist behind you. I pray that you will find someone that will be more receptive to you and that is easier to see.

Snowy, I saw the following on Facebook and thought I would share with you and anyone else that might need it today.
Grief 4.jpg

Everything is going as well as can be here. No changes with my kids. James is still doing well and we are on a holding pattern with Carol's situation.

I'm enjoying the cooler weather, in the 90's mostly during the day and cooling into the 70's at night. We sure could use some rain.

Big :grouphug:dear Kirby along with so much💛I liked your post for everything, of course minus Carol's situation being the same. That is heartbreaking because it's those precious kids who are most impacted. I thank you extra my friend for all the sheer love you give them!

Thank you for your kind feet words and prayers. Dad and I sure are counting on the epsom salt. Thanks for sharing that it also has helped the kids. You know that makes me happy to hear. Mom extra hugs. I am back in my slippers at the moment sitting here on the couch. Left foot, heel as usual especially, tendon, sure is hurting :( I am also relieved to be through with this podiatrist, no thanks!

What a wise and kind share. Thank you for that. Off topic, If you (Kirby or anyone who shops at a Kroger) buy Campbell's soup as we do, Ralphs has them for 99 each again this week.

Have a cozy rest of the afternoon, everyone :)

Good Morning all! It's going to be a rain free day with temperature up to 80 Degrees!!

I'm looking forward to this to get my yard dried out so we can tidy it up.

Also my deck needs some cleaning and other things. Nature sure can be messy!

Last week my upstairs floors got finally finished. It is now a beautiful and professional job, thanks to my DSon in law. He brought a 'guy' in to do it, who took care of all the things that needed to be done. He was much fussier than me. Including to the point of buying unfinished wood so he could stain the trim boards to the correct color since I didn't buy any trim and he couldn't find a match that 'he' approved off without ordering from Mohawk. This also saved me a bit of money. I've had this project going all summer with little progress as I always seemed to have other things to get done, and it was upstairs out of site and mind.

Yesterday, DD said lets go to the food truck at one of the wineries. This seems to be a thing now. There are quite a few wineries in Southern Maryland that have converted from other farming ventures (tobacco, soybeans) to growing grapes and making wine, mostly small batch, in the last 10-15 years. This one had a lobster roll truck (out of Baltimore) and claimed Maine lobster. They also had clam chowder. It was pretty good, but since any lobster here has to be either brought in live or processed in Maine, super chilled and then brought in, the latter is what we got. I can always tell the difference. But, the serving was very generous and the price was almost reasonable at $23. Mason's sell for $21 but not as much lobster as we had yesterday. Same plan though with the Maine sodas and mayonaise and butter options.

The higher end seafood restaurants will charge $30plus near here.

I also bought a bottle of pinot noir which was quite good. It surprised me. It was 2015 and they only had 3 total left. I only took one and another person took a second after seeing me buy. I just don't drink a lot and if I have a glass and the rest sits in the fridge for a while, you know I have expensive vinegar.

There was some live music but I didn't pay attention to who the artist was. On coming home, I checked google and almost all the vineyards are doing this, with at least one weekend day of a food truck and live music, and they all seem to have nice tasting rooms. It had been quite some time since I'd gotten out to a winery and most were quite far into Virginia in the older days. Maryland now has an impressive collection of wineries to visit, if someone is interested in this. A couple of the properties I'd been to in the past when they were either pumpkin patches or Christmas tree farms. Reinventing themselves seems to be working well, as some are offering themselves as venues for weddings parties and meetings.

The other side is you aren't getting package store prices. But, if it's an opportunity to do something on a weekend, and the cost is under $50 to do a tasting and take home a bottle (even if it turns into souvenir vinegar, haha) it may be worth it to some. In any case, business seems to be good, as the other big use for land around here (easy commute to DC) is turning it into subdivisions, and we all know what housing costs.

Good morning and welcome to October. Our weather will be the same as Judique's, sunny and in the 80's all week. I'll be able to get more of the early fall stuff done in the yard .
Darryl and his nephew were here Friday night. We're going to have the whole walnut tree taken down, instead of just the bigger branches. I just can't deal with the mess and the walnuts. I have been picking them up by the wheelbarrel full for days and the tree is still full. You can't walk without stepping on, and slipping on them. He's going to rent a cherry picker and a stump grinder to get it all down, and Dave is going to take the wood and cut it up for firewood, and use the wood from the trunk for making shelves and stuff. It should be down within the next couple of weeks. I'm going to miss the shade, but I don't want any of those huge branches coming down on the house and causing damage that would be costly to repair.
Summer stopped by last night with Gracie, on the way to the homecoming dance. Gracie has lost 60 lbs since the last dance she went to, and looked so beautiful

I cleaned the bathrooms, and washed the kitchen floor yesterday, along with laundry, and we put together his new end table. I made the filets for dinner, but I'm just not as impressed with Omaha Steaks as others seem to be.
Today I don't plan on doing anything, I'm taking the day for myself.

Have a great Sunday!
