We enjoyed it. I took the pictures I wanted!! Yes, it was fun.

@Snowysmom, I hope the walk through goes very well!!

I'm glad to hear it, Bobbiwoz :)

Posted this just now in the CA weather thread and want to remind all of dear you, too, to check your battery supply. Dad and I in addition to flashlights, have two battery operated lanterns which gave sure been handy in power outages in the past. Be sure all your various battery operated items are working well.

Most of all, forever, may each of you know Jesus in any storm outside or in your heart, is your Anchor and Refuge.

All my love, of course, always, too.

Good morning. Today the sun is out and no rain. Temps in the low 70s today which is nice. Good walking weather. I am definitely doing the walkthrough for the condo on Tuesday and Kenny can come along. I am trying not to be anxious about all that I have to do now as I expected to have more time. Once I have the condo I can slowly take things over, get set up over a few weekends, go on my trip, and come back to have my furniture moved in. Thankfully I have the time at Kenny's to be able to do things at my pace. Lunch with my friend was nice. As always, she has good words of wisdom. She has been at this point in her journey so she can give me some sound advice. She understands how I feel.

I am going to Bernie & Phyls today for a couch. They are still having the tax free weekend savings of 12% so any savings is good. That is the only furniture I need for now. I am keeping the bedroom set Chris and I picked out at J Homestock when we got married. I have a kitchen table and chairs that I love. The dining room table I may donate at some point. It brings too many memories for me and I don't really have the room for it. I have one chair for the bedroom where I will make a meditation/reading nook and one chair for the living room. The piano has to go in the dining area as it is the only wall wide enough. We will see how it all works out.

Have a good Saturday.

Good morning. Another gorgeous sunny, no humidity, low 80's day. I should do some yardwork today but I just don't feel like it. I'm still getting over moving furniture for 3 days and am taking another day off. I may wash the kitchen floor and rugs, and I already made a quick pass on the bathrooms, but that's it. I don't even want to go in the garden. I will just find more tomatoes to pick and we already have too many to eat. I've given them to every neighbor close by who wanted some, lol.

@flyingdumbo127 I hear a tropical storm is heading your way, stay safe!

@Snowysmom Wow, I'm really surprised your closing is actually going to happen almost on time. I'm so happy for you, you can finally get settled back in your own place.

Have a great morning.

I'm skipping the disney pic today and putting this cute one I found on pinterest this morning

Love the ducky, @lynxstch!

Definitely enjoying the change in the weather here! It's sunny, the humidity is gone, and I'm sitting on the front porch with one of the cats. DH and I went out to breakfast, then I "walked" her out back - she likes to go up the hill a bit and lounge next to the woodsy area so she can critter-watch:

Stay safe in the storm out your way, @flyingdumbo127.

Thank you all for your extra prayers! I will keep you posted. Dad and I may go out briefly this morning for a few extras. Just cooler for me anyway. Dad has on shorts. I will keep you posted.

A reading nook sounds so lovely, Snowysmom. On HGTV Shows or in books bedrooms with a reading area and/comfortable window seat has always appealed to me. Cozy and welcoming, retreat. I'm also glad you are able to keep the piano and other pieces while choosing some new items, too:grouphug:

Bobbiwoz, how refreshing your Saturday weather sounds, enjoy!

Lynn, I also love the cool ducky! :)

PollyannaMom, thank you as always for the cat walking smile.

Saturday love to all. I will check back later :)

Good Saturday afternoon to you all!

I clicked on the wrong spot and all of my quotes just disappeared. 🙁

I can't remember my last post so if I repeat myself just bear with me. I've been over at Carol's twice now watching the kids. Last week Lou Lou was sick with an upper respiratory infection so I stayed with them a couple of days. Then this week Lil Joe came down with strep and I was back over there for another couple of days. The kids did well with my coming and going. They were sad to see me go but they were really missing their Papaw. Almost every day Lil Joe is crying because he wants to see him. They both are doing well in school. Lou Lou fit right into kindergarten like she has always been there. Their school is a two story and Carol's class is on the 2nd floor. She went down to the first running an errand and spied Lou Lou leading a group of classmates but instead of walking with her hands behind her back she was hopscotching down the hall with them doing the same. 😄 I find I'm having a hard time adjusting to an empty house. I'm keeping up with my normal stuff but without Carol and the kids here, I have extra time on my hands.

Would some of you so kindly send us some rain and cooler temperatures. It did stay in the upper 90's on Wednesday but for the most part we are still looking at triple digits for the next 10 days with no rain in sight. Tomorrow is forecast for 108+. Everything is stressed, our beautiful Red Oak's leaves looks wilted and the majority of its acorns have already fallen. They look like little pebbles out on the driveway. Our clay soil is so dry and cracking. Will send you a pic or two, we've had worse though.

Great job, PollyannaMom! Get some rest please this afternoon!

Dear Kirby:grouphug:with a ton of prayer and love. Breaks my heart as you know when innocent children are intentionally being hurt. God Bless both of your precious grandkids. I LOVE Lou Lou's spirit! May she always choose to hopscotch through life with faithful joy! I have heard from my Houston cousins how hot it is in TX. Please take extra care and stay safe.

Dad and I are long safely home. We did get to 99, Target, and Ralph's--all within 5 minutes or less of each other. Dad, may go to Pavilions tomorrow depending on the weather.

Have a good rest of the afternoon dear friends!

Good afternoon.

Very pleasant day here, upper 70's and low humidity. Definitely felt like summer was nearing the end this morning.

@Kirby - That's nice that you can see your grandkids but I hope there is a resolution soon for them to see their Papaw. I still don't get how someone can be so vindictive to hurt you and your family and not realize it hurts the kids.

My daughter has decided to delay putting Link down and getting a second opinion. I think my SIL and grandson just cannot accept what is going on. It turns out that Link had Lyme disease which caused the kidney damage. My grandson wanted to know if he could donate one of his kidneys to the dog. My advice was get the test results on Monday and call the vet that treated his cancer for a 2nd opinion BUT everything I have googled points to the inevitability of needing to let him go. Just take your time but realize that if he starts showing worsening symptoms or is in pain it will be time to say good-bye. I don't think they will get that much time with him as his symptoms are pretty bad, but at least it gives them some time to adjust to the decision. It's just so hard to face the loss of a beloved pet. My poor grandson still looks for his cat that escaped 10 years ago and was never found, and he still has the cat's favorite toys for when he gets back.

Dealing with that and my knee has put me in a bit of a down mood today. I have decided to see our new primary next week and get some advice there. I will not do cortisone injections and my old orthopedist understood that. I have taken it orally and had some side effects that were not pleasant.

The Halloween store has opened and I got my Hocus Pocus clings to decorate my window in Disney. I was so excited for that. As an added bonus I get my granddaughter's discount.

Frozen pizza for dinner tonight. It has become our Saturday routine. They aren't that bad and so much cheaper than take out. I make a salad to go with it so I convince myself it is a healthy dinner.

Hope you are all having a great day.

It's really difficult to put a pet down. We've had to do it too many times.

Pizza and salad - that was our dinner last night and my lunch today. I was picking up a few items at Costco yesterday and my daughter texted to get a Costco pizza. I went and picked up the spinach salad and then ordered the pizza.

It turned out to be a good decision.
