SIL just came out of surgery, 3 hours after she went in. All went well they said, so that's a blessing. It's hot outside, 91. Staying inside where it's cool. Off to make dinner, BLT's and fresh corn.

Good Thursday Morning!

Last day of work at job #1 before vacation, I still have to work at job #2 Friday and Saturday nights then I leave Sunday morning.

Went to Evan's game last night and played with Mia. She has an ear infection so of course Grandma had to bring her a new stuffie to make her feel better.

Jacob stopped over after work and fixed the clogged drain in the basement. Yeah for that !!! I was able to throw in a load of sheets.

Straightened up the house a bit last night, I'm picking up Mia from Bailey's work today when I get off.

That's it for me, I'm sure this day will drag on since I have something to look forward to. Have a great day!

Good morning! Had a nice dinner last night. Only SIL came as BIL ended up in the hospital. (He is ok tho.) We all checked in on him this morning and I offered to bring his food to him, but he’s not eating well just yet. We’re thankful it was nothing too serious.

Today is my last day off before I start a long weekend work stretch. Ugh. The weather here is going to be scorching, mid to high 90s those days, I hope the AC holds out in the hospital!

DS is working a double afternoon into overnight, then golfing in the morning. Ah, it’s nice to be young!

DD worked overnight. She’s tired. I’m going to rest a little myself and then attempt to work on some of the boxes holding all my books in the room we just did over. Wish me luck! At least the house is clean! Maybe a dip in the pool later.

I just scanned the new posts here. We are back at Kenny's house. We had an eventful evening last night. Kenny's GF heard something and looked out front of the cabin. There was a bear trying to get into the trash bin which is one of the bear proof bins. He was bigger than a cub but not full grown. I think he was a juvenile maybe on this first outing by himself. He bent one of the hinges on one of the doors and pulled open the top of the doors a bit but not enough to get in. Kenny took pictures. We were concerned the bear was going to get stuck head first in the trash cabinet bin. Kenny flashed a light at the bear from inside the cabin and the bear left to go next door. First bear I saw up close. I have seen bears on the side of the road or in the woods nearby when in Alaska.

We hit the outlet stores. I bought a backpack at Vera Bradley outlet as I think I want to use that as a carry on that will fit on the floor in front of me, a matching mini umbrella, a coin and money purse, and reading glasses. It was such a good deal. I bought some shirts at Chicos and Columbia. We went to Diana's baths yesterday and had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a parking space. We trekked to the water falls but the kids found it not deep enough to swim in and the water was a bit fast for them and so cold. I stayed nearby and fed the mosquitos. They love me. I have been itching like crazy. Then we had dinner at Sea Dog Pub in North Conway, and went home to our bear entertainment for the night. I am glad to be back at Kenny's. Not sure why I had such anxiety yesterday and today. I was sad at Jeff's family leaving as I love all of us being together. I think missing Chris really hit home with all of us together. Everyone has someone and I am alone. I did have fun and enjoyed the grandkids especially when they would say they wanted to ride with Nana or be with Nana. Sam always had such a happy smile for Nana.

While I was on vacation I made the mistake of checking emails. My attorney emailed that the new closing date on the condo is Aug 31. I am not happy as realistically I won't be living in the condo until Oct once everything is done and the furniture in. I am away for a week in the midst of all that. The agreement they want me to sign says I do not get any compensation for the long delay. I told the attorney I was on vacay and would call him when I get back. So, tomorrow AM I will call him and find out what, if any, options I have. He asked me to call so I am guessing he is not happy with the whole thing. I did not check any more emails after that.

Have been home for awhile, but just got around to sitting down to relax. Shopping was okay. Aldi's was empty, as in 3 cars in the parking lot at 9:15. No customers at register or u scan. Very weird. Walmart was busy but not overly so. Lots of empty spots on shelves again. Deli was missing a lot of meats, Cat food row was maybe 1/2 full, but mostly with the small cans like Fancy Feast, Amore, etc. Even the card rows were really empty. I know Hallmark comes in and does it, but I've never seen it this empty.
Got my hair cut, stopped at Auntie Annies for a pretzel and lemonade and then we headed home. It's 91 degrees out and the heat index is 100. Tomorrow will be hotter, with head index of 110--yikes!

Wow, Snowysmom! Kinda scary to be that close! He looks about the same size as the one that was at my brother’s up there. Juvenile. Maybe they were born in the spring? Or maybe they’re like, a year old? I have no idea! But glad they’re not full size and mean. We were always told to watch out for the dumpsters at the condo we stayed at as they were regularly seen there scouring for food.

Excellent pics of the bear, @Snowysmom! I definitely don't want to run into one when I'm actually outside, but seeing it from a window...I admit I'd probably find it pretty exciting.

I think the bear was a yearling. Maybe he was out on his own for the first time.

Count me in also, Snowysmom and everyone, of course, as not wanting to run into any . Yikes! I'm sure sorry about the pesky bugs. Dad gets bitten often by them and has to be extra careful always outdoors in the summer. I'm so sorry you have the same issue. Hooray though that you treated yourself to some new things! Outlet shopping sounds fun. The Citadel Outlets out here used to be the best Skechers Factory Outlet store. There's an Old Navy, too. At Christmas, they have a HUGE real I think all of you should you ever come out here might enjoy there. Just keep in mind that unlike the olden days, their parking lot is now ginormous and so does require more and patience! Also, on our last trip there, pre pandemic, we didn't enjoy other than a great deal at Skechersbecause it was so LOUD much like DL sadly often is ride-wise. I don't get why volume needs to be that projected

sauce vote is to stick with fresh Fujis for now. Ralph's brand was a little better than yesterday's but still not my taste preference--too tangy/tart to me. I prefer sweet. The positive about the cups is being able to donate the extras to the food pantry should dad not want them for himself. All good.

Dad surprise card wise I am starting to reach out to some family just to give them the heads up and also so to limit my being sent snail mail from folks I may not really be in touch with type thing! This is to limit dad's curiosity! Other aspect of course is asking any pictures of memories of dad be emailed to me as soon as possible. all again so much for your support in this. I will post a reminder at either the end of October or beginning of November about this. Should any of you, also know anyone living in another country that would be incredible to try and get this time too. Feel free to have anyone PM/Email me. Should you not already have it, which I hope, all of you do in case of a Disboard crash, just PM me and I will, of course share my email address with dear you

Good morning. Today is supposed to be very hot with a heat advisory. Kenny, GF, and kids are going to Canobie. They are mostly doing the water park. I decided not to go for many reasons but the heat is one of the them. I plan to do some catch up at work, walk early, call the attorney, and do some errands. Back to reality.

Holy Moments…Are any of you familiar with the little book? It was given to me and I read a little every day.
I have mentioned that the family who is renting next to us have come every day to feed the fish. The three children and both parents have come at least once. Today they said good by…and brought this. The whole experience has been a Holy Moment given by me and to me from this family. I am so grateful

Good Friday morning everyone with

All quiet here. Dad just left for the laundromat and Ralphs. Thank God, he is intending to stay home tomorrow. Monday morning, we are planning to go to Burlington Coat Factory. This story pre Covid anyway had all types of clothes which is what I am hoping they still will. Dad will run into Walmart while I go into Hobby Lobby, a fun store I have not been in since I was there probably with my late friend Shirley in February 2020. We enjoyed going their together.

By Grace of God, also, I'm making great progress early with dad's card surprise. I decided it would be smart idea to well in advance create a 50-state list of family and friends I can reach out to in October and November to contribute. Thank you all so much who have already offered to send me something for him. I sincerely appreciate it! Do any of you know anyone who live in CT, DE, ID, UT, or WY? I am trying to have 2-3 people in each state to reach out as backups. Those 5 states are the 5 low ones, thanks! I will ask two of our own dear Quackers about the first two states Thank you everyone!
