Holy Moments…Are any of you familiar with the little book? It was given to me and I read a little every day.
I have mentioned that the family who is renting next to us have come every day to feed the fish. The three children and both parents have come at least once. Today they said good by…and View attachment 780992brought this. The whole experience has been a Holy Moment given by me and to me from this family. I am so grateful 🙏
Oh, that's so sweet!!

I've been out running some errands this morning, and sorting/pricing a few more flea market donations at the lodge. It's looking like a good amount of stuff so far.

I have to go back out this afternoon to get some food for my fussy kitty-cats, then a few grocery items for us - maybe something to cook on the grill so as not to heat up the house!

Good morning and welcome to an outside steam bath. 9 in the morning and it's already hot out there. I went to feed the outside cats and make sure they had extra water, and got hit in the face with the humidity. We had a storm last night around dinner time, that dropped the temp to 84, but it stayed in the upper 70's all night. Planning on staying inside and cleaning in the cellar.

When I was at the grocery store yesterday, I was at the U Scan, and someone came up behind me and put their arm around me. I freaked out, then I heard Dave saying 'they'll let anyone shop in here'. Geez. I had been trying to get hold of him all week. For some reason the new lock and deadbolt on the new back door, wouldn't lock. It was hitting the strike plate instead of going in. He has to come and lower the strike plates a touch. No idea why all of a sudden, since it's been fine since he put them in. He wasn't answering his phone and no voice mail. He said he took his granddaughter to see the Barbie movie on Saturday and never thought to turn his phone back on. He wondered why it hadn't rung in days, lol. He's going to come either today or tomorrow and fix the locks, and do the downstairs bath plumbing for the new faucets and shower and put the new vanity and faucets in. It's too hot for him to be working outside on roofs, that's for sure.

SIL is doing okay. They already had her up and sitting in a chair yesterday. They said she needs in patient rehab, in the hospital if they have a bed, if not, a nursing home for at least 2 weeks, maybe a month. Summer and her husband are over there today at the house, trying to clear stuff out so she will be able to get around when she gets home. Her and my niece have let the house go since her husband died, and stuff is falling apart. They need to replace the bathroom floor, put in a new toilet, fix a sagging spot in the kitchen floor, clean out so much junk it's unbelievable.

Well Dave just called and he's on his way. So much for cleaning down there today, will get the plumbing and vanity in instead!

Have a nice day, stay cool

Healthy prayers to all in need and then some for sure! 💕 extra to all of dear you, too!

Bobbiwoz, that is absolutely so kind and lovely. Thank you for sharing!

We're waiting for Boost delivery of Aquafina and Quilted Northern. Exciting huh? Makes a world of difference to have the heavy cases of water especially brought right to us. Usually, the kind Ralph's shopper will also bring the water inside for us and put it on a small table we have right by our front door. I am so thankful that dad finally relented about Boost!

Reminder to all, to please PM me if you or anyone you care for would like a postcard or card. You know it would be my blessing to send one!

Have a great rest of the day everyone.

Well I thought I sent that about 6 hours ago, but I must have forgotten to hit post. lol

@Pea-n-Me Prayers for your BIL

It's hot, 94 degrees, much hotter heat index. Dave was here for a few hours. Shower is all fixed and working, new vanity is in, sink is in but he has to get a new trap. Whoever put the old one in mickey mouse'd things and the trap is too short and the wrong size. He'll get it and come back when he can. He fixed the locks on the back door by moving the strike plates down a little bit, and fixed the toilet, it wasn't flushing right. The chain somehow was too long all of a sudden even though it's been fine since he put the toilet in until the last few days. Lowes overcharged me on pvc pipe this morning and I didn't notice it until I got home. I called and she told me pvc was $4.80 a foot and I bought 4 feet. I said no, a 4 foot piece is $4.80 and you charged me for 4 when I only bought one of them. She gave me her name and said just bring your receipt in and we'll credit your account.

SIL has already been admitted into the hospital's in patient rehab. They said 7-10 days. Everyone there is so nice, they were really great with Don both times he was in there.
Nothing else new, half the day is gone and I haven't gotten anything accomplished yet, lol

Stay cool, have a nice rest of the day

Good evening.

Just a quick hello. Sitting in the ER with my granddaughter. I took both girls to friends houses for sleep overs earlier. I barely got home when Crystal called to tell me she had just been in a car accident. Truck pulled out in front of them and her friends mother couldn't avoid it. The truck had the stop sign. Crystal has seat belt injuries so we are waiting on tests to be done. It's going to be a long night

For some reason the new lock and deadbolt on the new back door, wouldn't lock. It was hitting the strike plate instead of going in. He has to come and lower the strike plates a touch. No idea why all of a sudden, since it's been fine since he put them in.
One of mine does that occasionally. I moved the strike plate, it was fine for a while...then wonky again...then fine again on its own. I think the humidity swells the wood in the door and changes the angle a bit.

Praise God the girls are okay! How scary and awful, Taz:grouphug:🙏to all of you! I feel badly to live so far away or I'd come keep you company. Know we are here, care, and, of course, love you. God, of course, is forever with you all. Please stay safe and take care! Absolutely prayers for brighter days for all of you ahead!

@Pea-n-Me Prayers for you BIL.
@TazDev Prayers for Crystal and her friend's family.

Good morning. Another warm day but not as hot as yesterday. It is supposed to rain at some point.

I talked with my attorney yesterday. He let me know what he knew about the conservation commission. Aug 31 is listed on the paperwork as closing date. My agent called me later to fully explain things. It seems the town is stopping all outside work because of the conservation commission. At the meeting in July they told the builder to come up with a plan to stop any runoff into conservation land. The builder cannot do any outside work before the commission approves the plan in their mid August meeting. I went to the condo yesterday at my attorney's request and the basement still seems to be dry. No grass has been planted but I did see the hydroseed truck 2-3 condos away. My agent said they are not supposed to even be doing that. I asked her if Aug 31 closing would happen and she said no. They can't even work on the issue until after the mid August meeting. Then the commission has to approve the work done in the mid Sept meeting. So we are looking at the end of Sept. I can't blame the builder. He wants to get the work done. Unfortunately conservation has alot of power and can stop projects for as long as they want. This is true in every town. Jeff has a friend who is a civil engineer and he said conservation has alot of power everywhere. One woman who sold her house like me and needed to close on time begged the conservation committee to allow closings to take place. She was told by the committee, too bad it is not happening. They just don't care. Basically they are petty bureaucrats who are power hungry. I understand protecting conservation lands but most of the condos including mine are not any where near the conservation land and do not impact it at all. My agent and the attorney know I am frustrated and angry but we can't do anything. Sorry for the long winded vent. The bad news just keeps on coming.

Kenny and the kids had fun at Canobie yesterday. They spent alot of time at the water park. He said it wasn't too bad in the shade. Ride lines were short so they got alot done. The kids came home and went right to bed. They were exhausted. Today they are thinking of going to Kimball Farm. They have mini golf, water tube rides, and some other things to do. The ice cream there is so good and they give you so much. I am going to opt out. It will be Kenny, his GF, and the 2 kids. I am not a big fan of Kimball Farm and it will be too hot to just stand around. Plus it will be very crowded. I plan to do some more work, talk with a friend, and take an early morning walk.

Have a good Saturday.

Good Morning!

Sorry your closing is pushed back @Snowysmom .

Started spending money early this morning! Hunterfan.com has a sale going and I was able to snag a small, white fan with light to replace my bedroom fan which is getting to it's end. Model is Belfield for $50 and 9.99 shipping and handling. Microsoft found me a coupon for $5. $54.99 works for me. I'll still have to buy a wall switch that will dim as it's probably too bright to use the light as is.

In a bit I'm heading out to replace my Mattress. We got a new set for DD and that's when I realized life is too short for me not to have a new set also. Hers is so much more comfortable than mine! Since I keep my mattress and box spring encased I'm not spending the extra for a box spring. We did for DD as hers was broken, which is why we actually replaced the set.

DD and family are out of town and I have her cat again. So much cat drama! He's in general very sweet but my cat is jealous.

It's also hot here - doesn't really need to be said! The rental had an AC issue and DD called me to get someone in. It was fixed in 2 hours which made me incredulous. It was the capacitor. Believe me, DD paid highly for all that convenience but it was needed.

That's it so far today! I'm waiting to hear that @tazdev3225 and family are having a better day today or at least getting some rest. So awful to get calls that family have been in an accident.

Thank you everyone Crystal definitely had a protective hand over her. She has bruising in her chest area and an abrasion/burn on her neck. They dis a CT scan to make sure there was no internal damage and an EKG which thankfully was OK. No damage other than external but the abrasion on her neck kept getting puffy so we were very thankful to hear there was no damage to the carotid artery. I am glad I insisted on Fire Rescue to take her to the hospital. Her friend and her friends mother were still in the waiting room when we left at 11 PM since they came in on their own. Crystal was admitted around 5. It was a long night and I pray she isn't hurting too bad today. The day after is always more painful. I just hope she isn't hurting to bad because she is supposed to start her new job sometime this week. She is working at Spirit of Halloween again and she really loves that job. Taco Bell was not a good fit for her.

I was going to watch Anthony in a tournament today but with the heat expected and the long night, PLUS rain expected in the area I am hoping it gets postponed. I don't think kids should play ball in 95+ degree weather,

I'll update on Crystal later after I speak with her, I'm not calling til later this morning so she can get some rest. Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all. Day 4 of the heat wave here. Calling for storms this afternoon. It finally cooled off enough last night that the outdoor cats came to eat dinner, almost at dark. I got into the garden and picked more squash. Called Summer and told her to come and get some. She likes to make squash fritters, which I don't care for. I like steamed squash and zucchini bread and that's about it. I have never had so many squash growing as this year. I've given it to 3 neighbors and still have more than we can eat, lol

I was glad to see your update this morning @tazdev3225 but not so glad to see @Snowysmom update. Sorry the closing is getting pushed back yet again. I guess it's the commissions way of making sure things are done right, but it has to be more than frustrating to you

Stay cool everyone

Good Morning :grouphug:

Thank you all so much for already reaching out to help me with cards for my dad! I am ever so grateful for all of you, always, you know that! I will post a reminder in mid October. Carol, I will PM you, thank you so much.

Continuing extra prayers to Snowysmom, Taz, and also Pea! How is your BIL doing, dear Pea? Lynn, thinking also extra, of course of you and your family.

PollyannaMom, those are so cute. I love Pooh and Piglet so adorable! Thank you for sharing :)

Dad and I are almost done watching A Lifelong Love. Not the best Hallmark movie. We much more enjoyed Picture a Perfect Christmas! Speaking of which, I am currently reading the E Book of this movie called A Family Under the Christmas Tree by Terri Reed. It's interesting to compare the two together. The young boy, Troy is his name, in the book for one at 5 (I don't remember how old he was in the movie) seems much younger than in the movie. Troy's Uncle David is in the movie seems much more of a workaholic also as does Sophie his love interest ND next door neighbor, Louise's visiting granddaughter. Love Louise's character in both versions. I'll share more when I've read all of the book. And the same with finishing to watch A Lifelong love.

Have a wonderful and cool Saturday, Friends. I will come back later :)
