Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

It’s rainy here, and I’m quite pleased. We need the rain,

Yes indeed - you can say that again! As the crow flies we are not to far apart, and so I'm sure you can appreciate how dry it's been over here.
Good luck to your friend Tina, hope all goes well there.
Broke in the new grill last night, turkey burgers. Hopefully we get two years out of this one, that seems to be what we average on grills no matter if we buy cheap ones, middle of the road ones or ones that cost way to much! We do use them often, and are hard on them even though it's kept under a covered porch area. Oh well, it is what it is.

It sure seems that way with a lot of things these days. We had a Great Outdoors one that lasted almost 15 years. Now we have a Charbroil one, that after 2 years is going to need to be replaced very soon. I would really like a Big Green Egg, but can't justify the cost of one. They just don't make stuff like they used to!

They just don't make stuff like they used to!
They don't with a lot of things, for sure! We learned that the hard way with the Webber we bought several years ago, no matter what we only get 2, maybe 3 years out of them no matter what. And my husband make sure things work for a living, so coming home to deal with a grill that needs yet another starter or something has rusted out of whatever after already fixing it once is not his idea of relaxing after a hard days work - and I don't blame him! It's frustrating honestly, but oh well. Our smoker has lasted years and years...dang! hope I didn't just jinx us:crazy2:

Lynn's picture is a TON cuter but I've attached a Happy Summer greeting with love from me, too. Happy Summer, Friends indeed! Wishing all of dear you a bright season of healing as needed and JOY! I'm truly extra thankful to God for this new season! :)

Thank you, dear Lynn, for your kind words to Snowysmom! Thank you all anew for being such kind bringers of faith filled light to all including, always me. ❤️:sunny:to all. Have a wonderful Wednesday! I will check back later.

Good morning! Just stopping in for a quick hello, have to run out today again. Been busy.

Monday night DD and I went to DS’s ⚾️ game. He pitched very well, struck out 9 of 15 batters he faced, just one hit and no runs scored. The other team was silent watching him, it was pretty funny - they had been loud and rowdy before that. We did get really cold, though, and pulled out whatever blankets and towels we found in the car and put them on. The three of us went out to a diner afterward for “breakfast”, didn’t get in until after midnight, but had a fun night.

DD is getting in her clinical hours for her master’s program this month, so she’s at the hospital almost every day. She can’t wait to be done, but she’s enjoying what she’s doing now there. We are looking into planning a little trip around her graduation. Both of my kids graduated college in 2020 so they had no graduation ceremonies. I hope we can go. DS is mulling over some things for his career trajectory. It will be interesting to see which path he chooses.

Had some long phone calls yesterday and today. Yesterday tried to support my family member who lost their stepson last month. It’s hitting them hard now. And an old patient called me this morning, we realized it’s been 33 yrs since we met. He’s going in for a procedure and wanted to let me know so I can visit him. He’s one of the cases that had good results long term from a surgery he‘d had when we first met. He also loved the cardiologist I’d recommended to him at that time and who’s kept him going all these years. It’s nice when it works out well.

Have to jump in the shower now. Nice to see everyone. Still keeping up. 🐥

Rain rain, stay around a bit...

It's been a wild day for me trying to deal with one of my cats.

He's older, turned 10 years this month. He had problems from birth but we've worked to make his life better.

Recently he started biting his tail and making it bleed a bit. First time it healed, about a month ago.

But yesterday he bit it again and it was a mess this time. Blood everywhere! So I took him in and they gave him an antibiotic shot, Convenia, which is the equivalent of 14 days of medication. They also did blood work and I should hear results tomorrow. I'm pretty sure he must have some sort of infection, as this is not the norm.

Took him home and he went nuts. Ripped open the tail and bled everywhere. Meanwhile he's spinning and running and I'm trying to catch him. Finally get him back in the carrier and back we go to our vet. He cleaned him up and wrapped the tail wound. Put a collar on him.

This wasn't done on first visit because the wound was dry by the time we got to the vet. And he was much calmer. He went crazy after we returned home from the first visit. He sprayed blood all over my kitchen, bath and bedroom, including clothing, floor and walls and fixtures. I've cleaned most of it and started laundry. Thankfully I have hard surfaces mostly so could wipe down. But he did get my bed so everything has to go through the laundry.

He lost a lot of blood but is all right. Sleeping quietly on a towel.

Tomorrow I will deep clean again to sanitize as much as possible. I also need to paint so need to make sure there's nothing to bleed through the paint.

Did I mention my bed is done in all white? I should have taken a picture.

Happy Friday Eve!🌥️

Judique - prayers for your cat, hope he's okay. Poor little guy.🙁

Went to Evan's game last night and got some cuddles in with Mia 🥰. She's getting so big, I was calling her my little chickie nuggie, now I'm calling her my juicey chickie nuggie.

Went to Meijer to pick up a few things, then I made a list, and then it turned into more or less a full blown grocery trip 🙄. At least I have food to pack this weekend when I work, shouldn't have to order out.

My free-loading renter Remy is starting to let me pet her again. Hopefully she'll get brave enough to come out to the living room again 🤞. Baby steps.

That's about it, heading over to the cafe to get some breakfast tacos (without the tortilla), I usually throw 1/2 of it away and then get mad at myself for even getting it, the eggs aren't the greatest.🌮

Have a great day!

Just a quick hello from sunny Disney World. Arrived yesterday and having a blast. 4 females in 1 room is fun, thankfully I'm fast in the morning. My granddaughter is like a friend I have traveled with in the past. Will update when I have a chance. On our way to animal kingdom and the hoop de doo revue tonight

Good morning. Poured down rain most of the night. Cloudy now, calling for chance of showers and temps on 64. Glad I did all my errands yesterday when it was dry outside.

@Judique Your poor furbaby, and you for having to clean up all the blood. I hope it's nothing serious and that the antibiotics help him.

@tazdev3225 Thanks for checking in and I hope you have a marvelous time at Disney. My friend and her husband are down there. They went to Disney Springs yesterday. She sent me pictures, and the place looked almost empty. I don't think I've ever seen so few people there. It's rained every day they've been in FL since last Thursday. Lucky she's not at home in CO. They have tornado warnings today!

I called Dave last night and he's going to come either today or tomorrow and replace 3 electrical outlets, put the new range hood in and look to see what we need to put new faucets and shower in the downstairs bath. He wasn't happy to hear how the painter is doing the job. He said he never would have recommended her if he knew she was going to pull something like that. I told him not to recommend her for any other big jobs. One or 2 rooms, maybe, but even at that it took her way too long to do them. For now I put all the paint in the cellar, got tired of looking at it stacked in the corner of the kitchen. At least until she either tells me when she's coming back or we can find someone else to do it.

No plans for the day. I didn't sleep well last night and I'm tired.

Have a good day

Good Morning🐣🌼

Happy 2nd day of Summer, too :) When, dad opened our door this morning to go outside and retrieve his Daily LA Times 📰he found a huge surprise for me! A kind Dis friend gifted me a book of 🌷stamps! All of you know (as this kind friend does) that I pray to be able to serve God through spreading extra faith, cheer, and fun through the mail. For me, doing so can be costly at times as postage prices do horribly keep rising. The friend also loves to send out mail and blessed me by making it easier for me to do so even more. Reminder to all of you dear Quackers. to PM me if ever you would like a postcard or card. You know it would bring me joy to send to you.

Dad is currently off on morning errands. We have a $5 Best Buy coupon that he got that he needs to use for something. He's hoping to find a small travel 🖱️for his new laptop. Target is in the same shopping garage/area so he will be going their first--Best Buy doesn't open until 10am. Just across the street and down a block is our 99 Cent Only Store. Finally, back on the Target side and more across from 99 is Sprouts where he will get himself some fresh 🫐and raspberries before coming 🏡I'm not too happy to know in advance that he will be going back out this afternoon to the library (they don't open on Thursdays until 12) to pick up a book for himself that has come in. He will also be going to the post office before then so should any of you PM me this morning and I see it, I can try to send you mail today. Just let me know :)

Oriental Trading is offering today only, free shipping on any order, no minimum purchase. The code is: HEAT23

Taz, :grouphug:along with prayers that all of you continue to enjoy safe travels and FUN with::MickeyMoYou are also such a blessing to all the young people in your life!

Dear Lynn:hug:always to you. Prayers always for the painter to just be done, already! Wishing you brighter and more restful days!

:wave:Good morning with a hug, PollyannaMom!

Have a great Thursday, everyone. I will come back later.

Vet called and bloodwork is fine. Cat has continued to be calm.

I'm starting to suspect that it's the presence of my DD's cat staying with us temporarily. He came to visit in May for a bit and went home after a couple of days. That's roughly when the first tail bite happened.

This time he's been here for more than 3 weeks. He's a large kitten - will be a year in September. He's curious and if a door is closed he wants to know what's going on and get in. I'd kept my cat separate but it's possible this is still stress related. Right now there is no health or physical explanation.

A bit later I have to unwrap the tail, apply some ointment, and rewrap it. Then tomorrow, ointment only, no wrap.

It's always something.

Extra :grouphug:Judique!

I give extra thanks to God, to be typing that shortly I will be accompanying dad to the library! I haven't been inside a library since 2019 possibly early 2020! This branch closest to us is small and not the same as a bigger location would be but what a blessing! I would appreciate prayers for health and safety of us both. I will sit in the car while dad goes to the post office, which he has shared is always crowded. Small steps!

@Snowysmom I saw on the news they have dogs at the park every Wednesday night. How was that? Did you all enjoy the game?

@lynxstch Did you pay this painter up front? Do you think she’ll ever come back? 😬

@Judique How upsetting that must be to see with your cat! I think you’re on to something.
Healing prayers. 🙏

@tazdev3225 Have a wonderful trip!

Small work stretch but at least I have the weekend off. Enjoy the evening and Friday, everyone! 🐥

We only paid her for the 3 rooms she did. She put separate prices on each one. All of her painting supplies, tools, ladder, are still here, so I would assume she was coming back, but it would be nice of her to answer my text and let us know!
