Pea Hope Toto feels better soon. He is such a sweetie. Glad you and the doctor were able to work together to help the patient. Hospitals are so short staffed now. Kenny was telling me about it the other day.

Kirby great bargain hunting at the store. Chicken tortilla soup is so good.

Judique Love the pictures. The picture of venus and the moon remind me of Chris in a good way. He loved astronomy. Have a great trip. I like that you can travel yourself and find things to do and have fun. I need to work on that.

:grouphug: to all who need some extra care.

I am working from home for a bit and then off to the office so I am not here for the inspection. The guy even asked if he could have access to the roof and the water main. I told my agent he would have to talk to the office. I doubt they are going to give him access and now the roof has a few inches of snow on it.

I did have lunch with my friend yesterday and then we went to a tea shop across the street to talk some more. When it really started snowing heavily we left and cautiously made it back to our condos. The snow must be melted off my car by now in the heated garage. She is heading out of town for all of Feb so I will miss our lunches together. She is looking for a second condo in FL.

Have a good day.

Happy Tuesday!🥶

Expecting more snow after midnight tonight. Thinking I'll be working from home tomorrow. I think I mistyped the other day. We got 5 inches of snow, not feet 🤔. That's still a lot around here at one time. It's perfect snowman making snow. There were a lot of them in front yards with their Bengal gear on.🏈☃️

Went to my sleep doctor yesterday and he extended the prescription for the CPAP machine. Hopefully I can get a new hose ordered soon. After that I stopped at Kohl's at return a pair of pants. Next stop was to get my tires topped off with air. Headed home and finished working, didn't go out anymore after that.

Forgot to mention yesterday that over the weekend my friend and I booked our vacation to Florida for July :sunny:. The two of us went last year and had so much fun, we decided to do it again. This year we asked another friend to go along so she booked her room too. We're just watching to see if plane tickets come down a little.🤞
Have a great day!

Good morning all. It's going to be sunny and 45 today, snow starting tonight into tomorrow, mixing with ice before turning to rain later-yuck

@Pea-n-Me I hope Toto feels better soon!

@Judique Gorgeous pictures, I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing time

I am off to the grocery store shortly. People around here panic at the word 'snow' so it's going to be mobbed early. I don't care for driving in snow and ice anymore. I didn't mind when I lived in MA, but I was much younger then, lol

Have a great Tuesday!

Good morning.

Been up since 6 and got my grandsons to school and then had to get Mikey to school. No coffee until almost 9 makes me a tad cranky. I passed the scene of a really bad house fire a few blocks from my house on the way home. At least 3 houses were destroyed and looking at pictures on the news I'm not sure how easily they will be able to rebuild.

Then I saw a news story about a shooting 1 block from where my grandson Jay lives. This is LJ's family. I really hope Jay finds a good and steady job soon so they can get out of that neighborhood. The report said it was a neighbor dispute. I don't understand why guns are the answer to a disagreement. My brother calls me the family hippie.

Jim sees the cardiologist today so hopefully all the clearances go through for the surgery next week.

I came up with a plan to embarrass Ella on the Disney trip. She is driving me crazy with this is her trip so I am getting shirts made of a picture of her from her first trip to Disney. BUT a picture of her with her giant Minnie Mouse or when Woody took her Jessie doll and put it in his boot. She didn't want those pics in her yearbook so I know they will work.

Have a good day and will try to check back later

Good morning all...thinking of heading to Home Depot to pick up paint samples for our repaired wall...I'm tired of looking at it the way it is and I want the furniture to be put back the way it's supposed to be. We've had two weekends we said we were going to do it and it's still not done. If I had the money, I would pay someone to do it. LoL

Yesterday started out ok but ended rough. I don't know how much is hormonal. :sad2: At my last therapy appt, my therapist said a lot of what I'm feeling could be my hormones/menopause. I'm trying to decide if I need to make an appt with my Dr. If my emotions are menopause related, is there something that can be done to help with that or am I just out of luck until its over? Seems like everytime I bring it up to my Dr she hasn't really addressed it.

After I made dinner, I went to take a shower and had one of those good shower cries. LoL Forgot most of my comfy pjs were in the dryer so I waited for them to be done before emerging from the bedroom trying to be in a better mood. DH and DD went to the store for some ice cream and brought me back some red vines trying to cheer me up, which was sweet of them.

I'm supposed to have breakfast or lunch with my friend this week for her birthday and then I need to go over and see the baby...haven't seen her since New Years. Dolly and I also have training Wednesday and I have another therapy appt Thursday.

Hope you all have a good day.

@easyas123 - Congrats on the new daughter and to your son and new daughter on their marriage - wishing a lifetime of happy years for them.

I am off to the grocery store shortly. People around here panic at the word 'snow' so it's going to be mobbed early. I don't care for driving in snow and ice anymore. I didn't mind when I lived in MA, but I was much younger then, lol
This is me. I was fearless in snow for a long time. Not anymore.
My brother calls me the family hippie.
Wear that title proudly. I take it to mean a thoughtful and kind person.
DH and DD went to the store for some ice cream and brought me back some red vines trying to cheer me up, which was sweet of them.
I read this as 'red wines'. I wouldn't have had any use for the red vines.

Woke up several times after I fell asleep and eventually got up around 6 and had some coffee.

Then I made it to the beach for sunrise. It was 41 but not too windy so a lot of people were out. I met a lot of dogs as people have leashes in their hands but most dogs were running free. Lots of space for this and the dogs loved it.

One dog ran straight to me and the guy was yelling 'friendly' as I stood there waiting to give him a scratch behind the ear. I thought he was calling his dog and that the dog's name was Friendly, but I guess he was just letting me know his dog wouldn't eat me. I'm okay with most dogs. I scratched him and fortunately he didn't taste me (eww - dog drool) and we continued on.

The sun rose. I have proof:

Back at the resort I went in the den to check for 'Disney coffee'. Last time here they had keurig Disney branded pods, same as I had at VGF Nov 2022.

But no, that was gone and it was a regular big thing of coffee. I should mention I was really looking for the Swiss Miss pods they had so I could bring one back to the room for later on.

Later I went by Tide Me Over and got breakfast. They had coffee set up outside, reg and decaf, all complimentary, but no free hot chocolate. They are having cocoa and smores later at 5PM, but I won't be there as I'll be heading for an old folks special at one of the many restaurants near here. Not sure which one yet.

I took a little walk and learned how to play Disney Horse Shoes.

It gives the option of playing to 21 points or changing that to 11 points if you are awful at the game.

We're definitely closer to being all well. Dad is currently doing :laundy:followed by a quick trip to Rite Aid. We will bake 🍪after lunch. I'm looking forward to a warm cookie. Truly wish I could share some with all of dear you, one day :)

Judique, I am so thankful to God to hear you are safe and sound. How lovely to have shared some fruit :banana:with new friends on vacation. Thank you for sharing gorgeous pictures with us, too. Have a wonderful adventure to come. I look forward to hearing all about your trip.

For those with family or who themselves have issues with walking on/in sand I thought I would share these pictures:

1674579789607.jpeg

This is where you walk or roll out at ground level. My car is actually parked inside the garage right behind and to the left of the yellow post.

1674579940217.jpeg

Then you continue walking or rolling or being pushed up the blue vinyl pathway to the sand. There is at least one beach wheel chair available for those who can't walk. None of this is easy for those who are not as nimble as they used to be but it is somewhat manageable for those of us who love the sand and water. Once you are at the end of the blue vinyl pathway, the sand is hard packed now, but in summer there is sometimes a few feet of looser sand.

PS: I'm plenty nimble and able to get through the sand (right now at age 70) but I know it's not as easy as people age. I have a vision of an elderly lady (maybe late 80ties to 90ties) I once saw at Assateague. Her two sons (that's what they looked like) helped her walk up the wooden path to the hill at the top of the dunes. She sat there and watched the ocean for maybe 10 minutes while the sons waited patiently. Then they carefully walked her back down the slope to go - wherever. I've always wondered if that was her last visit.

Poor Toto is sick. Had him at the vet’s today. They gave him antibiotics and a shot for allergies. He’s just laying next to me now not feeling well. Quiet. Thankful for good veterinary care.
Don't you wish they could talk to us sometimes, if only so we could help them when they don't feel good?
I am working from home for a bit and then off to the office so I am not here for the inspection
Good luck w/ the inspection, I'm sure it will go great!
Forgot to mention yesterday that over the weekend my friend and I booked our vacation to Florida for July :sunny:
Nice - I always like to have a trip planned, and I don't right now (gotta go to FL to take some stuff down to my folks in a week or two...but I refuse to label a trip to family, no matter how much I like them, a vacation!)
blue vinyl pathway to the sand
huh - I've never seen that before. I think I'm going to look that up, looks like something we could use down by the creek here.

That's a wonderful memory you have! I have a similar one of my grandmother during one of our OBX trips, but I haven't thought of it in years, so thanks for the reminder!

Good afternoon everyone. Not a whole lot to report from my neck of the woods. Same old.... I think pork chops are on the slate for dinner this evening. Sun is out now, rain and maybe a bit of sleet forecast for tomorrow. I've got to drop the old folks off at PHL however I'll be there and back at the office before everything starts up north so no worries. Just good old plain, cold rain for us.

Waiting to hear from foster pups new family as to when they'd like to arrange pick up. I'm thinking this weekend? I guess I should say I'm hoping. I let them know I have some flexibility in my schedule in case they can come down on a week day as well.

Hug, Easyas. That's really neat that both you and Judique have similar memories of your grandmothers. Grandparents truly are so special indeed. Prayers for foster :dogdance:and for you to stay safe and warm, too. Your weather sure doesn't sound too inviting! Take care, please:hug:

It's still chilly here, an extra good afternoon to bake warm cookies. We will get started on that shortly. I truly hope each of you are having a good afteenoon.

PollyannaMom, prayers you and your 🐈are warm and cozy this morning and having a good Tuesday.
Thanks. Just busy with errands this morning, then the appliance guy came to check out the dryer.

We are opting to get a new one rather than invest in an expensive repair because it's already quite old, and there may be additional hidden damage from the problem on Saturday.

Everyone sounds so busy today. I hope doctor's appts go well. I hope easyas' doggie gets to his forever home soon. Thinking of everyone.

The inspection went well. The only thing requested is when we take down the TV mount that we patch up the holes and spot paint the areas. So we are moving ahead. Close date is Feb 28 and I can stay until April 29. I will be out a bit before then even if it is to go Kenny's house. Now I have to make up a list of what to do and when. I will have the movers pack up most of the kitchen and closets but I want to do my clothes, towels, and linens. My mind is going a mile a minute but I need to just slow down and take it one day at a time so I do not get overwhelmed.

Work was good today. One of my coworkers came into the area for a couple of weeks. It was so good to see her. I miss her sense of humor and talking with her. She lives in Delaware but has family here.

Have a good rest of the day. More snow coming in this area tomorrow. Everyone stay warm and safe.

@Judique , your pictures are beautiful.

We are on a DCL cruise and today Tom arranged for the HA assist chair to be by the pool, and it worked great! When I hurt my shoulder last year, I lost my ability to climb up a vertical ladder out of a pool. If the pool has steps and railings I can step up, but not a ladder.

We had Pixar fireworks last night and before that watched movie “Turning Red.”

I am not on internet much, but decided to check in and read how everyone is doing.🙏ing every day for Disboards friends.

:hug:PollyannaMom, I'm very glad and relieved to hear you are going wirh a new dryer especially in light of what just happened wirh your current one. Safety first indeed!

:cheer2:Snowysmom. I am so happy to read the inspection is over and went so well, too. Praise God! Also grateful for your coworker. Take a breath and try to remember that everything does not have to be done now or simultaneously either. One step at a time!

Enjoy more of your🛳️dear Bobbiwoz! Aw, God Bless Tom! Prayers the two of you are having a fantastic time!

You just stay warm and take care, Easyas:hug:

Cookies are about to go into the oven. Apartment feels warmer and sweeter, lol, already.

Thinking extra of you Carol, Frog, Dazed, Kirby, and any other Quackers who I may have inadvertently missed. I do keep Sparkle, Canadisney Fly, DisneyMommyMichelle, and, of course, Tina in prayer, too.

Have a great rest of the afternoon everyone.

It got to 46 today, but it's cooling off fast, and clouds are moving in. The stores were packed, but I got in and out fairly quickly. Stopped at the little store over the PA line and got jumbo eggs for $3.99, so I grabbed 2 of them. They have already cancelled school for tomorrow in most of the area here and in WV.

Mona, I'm feeling better thank you!

@bobbiwoz enjoy the cruise!

@Snowysmom glad the inspection went well

@PollyannaMom -Probably much safer to go with a new dryer!

Dave called me this morning and we talked about the bathroom fixtures. He's going to hook up his trailer and we are going to go to Lowes Thursday or Friday. It says they have the tub, tub surround and toilet in stock. The fan/light/heater I have to have delivered as well as the vanity, but we're nowhere near ready to start, so I can wait a few weeks to get them. The other 3 are major items that I want to have here when ready

Dinner is going to be salad and garlic naan pizza

Have a nice evening.
