Extra :grouphug:Kirby. I am very grateful first and foremost, that your DS is being cared for. Of course, I am so sorry the process is so very heartbreaking and hard. God Bless Lou Lou, prayers she and Lil Joe enjoyed school today. Also, thankful extra to God that you enjoyed Bible study and dinner, too. Please, please, take care and get some rest!

Sweet Dreams, friends.

@Kirby :grouphug: It is good that your DS is at such a great hospital. Tomato soup and grilled sounds so yummy.

It is chilly again this morning, around 46. The weekend is supposed to be 70. This is great for not having to have the heat on much with the costs being so high.

I had a good lunch with my friend. I always get an omelette and fruit for lunch. I talked with my work friend who lives in another state. She is going through some tough family times so we were able to talk with each other and commiserate. She is a manager and she told me that our big manager wants me back 40 hours a week. It is mainly because he promoted my supervisor and wants me to take over some of her stuff. I have no interest in working more than the 30 hours I do now and I did tell my supervisor that a while ago. So I am not sure how it will go if they ask me and I decline. My son Jeff tells me they need me more than I need them. Chris always told me that they will very much miss me and my work when I leave the company. I just hope they realize my contributions and don't push it. I could go up to 32 hours a week and will offer that. I do have to stop ruminating about it.

I am taking a few hours off today. I was supposed to go to Joe's Apt complex to pick up mail but Kenny did that yesterday. Since I did tell my boss I was taking off time today I am still going to and get a sticker for my car and do some errands.

Have a good day.

MOrning all.

@frog3101 good to hear from you. Hang in there!

@Snowysmom Hopefully your boss will be good with you working just your 30 hours. Can you fit some of the supervisor duties in that time frame? Will they promote you to the supervisory role if you take the 40 hours, and bring someone in to fill your current role; or are they looking at having you do double duty?

@Kirby  I hope they get things figured out soon, so they can get on a course of treatment.

@flyingdumbo127 I don't shop at ON, but those pjs sound so cozy! I like the Sonoma Goods for Life brand at Kohls. I did pick up 3 pairs of these (link); they are soooooooooo soft; the only issue is the ribbon at the waist likes to try to disappear.

@lynxstch  for Summer. Hope that's just a simple fix for her kidney.

@Judique For the other drawing, we got 2 numbers on 2 lines; for Wednesday, we got 1 number total.

Yesterday, I made pork meatloaves with balsamic glaze, everything mashed potatoes (bacon, cheese, sour cream, chives), and roasted zucchini and carrots with a schmear of ricotta and a balsamic drizzle. (HF, but I added in the potatoes, because DS loves them). Did nothing except relaxed and wash bedding.

Today, I'm having DH pick up my Target order. We have a Super Target, and the meat quality there is fine; I just need to get 10 meals for the month; the rest I already have or am doing HF for; and lunch/breakfast for DS. I also need to stop at Publix, but that can wait until Saturday, when DH goes up to pick up his bike and take DS to vote; or we can go Sunday, and maybe go to First Watch for breakfast, just the two of us.I just need fresh veggies for a few days from there; I can get everything else at Target (I don't like their produce); and we need to pick up a few Powerball tickets, and trade in the scratch off winners. (DH and I voted by mail; DS's vote by mail was delivered, and I put it in his room...and it is now missing; so he has to go up and do it in person.)

Decided we aren't doing a big Tday dinner; I am doing some appetizers (veggie/dips tray; meat/cheese/crackers) and have a HF meal (as they will be delivered the day before). When DH gets his HBH gift card, I'll go buy a turkey and ham; divide them up, and freeze for meals in December/early January.

Dinner tonight is not HF; I am making Carne Asada street tacos, with cilantro lime rice; and a spinach salad for lunch.
Tomorrow for lunch is sweet corn and green pepper chowder (HF) and ham sandwiches; dinner turkey and biscuit pot pie (HF) and a salad; Sunday lunch is sweet chili pork bowls (HF). Dinner Sunday is whatever DH and DS decide to cook, because I'm taking the night off!

Have a good day, y'all.

Happy Friday!

Weather has been so nice here yesterday and will be today also. Definitely will be cutting the grass for the last time tomorrow and getting the rest of the yard cleaned up.:sunny:

DD made grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner.
Same thing I had. Once again, I messed up one of the easiest meals. Wasn't paying attention to the soup cooking and when I went to turn the stove off, the soup had overflowed and I had a complete mess to clean up on the stove (I have a gas stove so it was in the burners). I just need to stop making tomato soup and grilled cheese.🚫

Watched the baseball game last night. Phillies need to get it together this weekend!⚾

Working on the unit today so it's going to be a long & busy day.

Bailey and I have the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) 5k tomorrow. Obviously with her being 7 months pregnant, we will be walking it this year.🚶‍♀️

That's about it, have a great day & weekend!

I enjoyed the sweet chili bowls much more than I expected.

However, I've found the downside to HF. I'm now eating more and regular meals with overall less veggies.

That means I've gained almost 4 pounds! Not good so I'll adjust myself despite my new found love for DD's HF cooking skills.

Lunch will just have to be salads and that's it. Breakfast will get lighter. Snacks in between will lean more to fresh fruit, and less carbs overall. I'll cook some veggies to put on my plate before I serve myself HF. Then once I've taken off the 4 pounds, I'll monitor daily again. I find it interesting that I somehow stopped weighing myself when I started eating HF and also too much halloween candy - not totally HF's fault!

I do the same; more veggies during the rest of the day, if we are having HF. Which is better, I suppose, than eating a bunch of junk food for snacks and lunches, lol.

Good morning everyone. Will be a big temperature change from what it is now--38, to what it gets to this afternoon-77 lol Supposed to be the same for the weekend, with a chance of rain on Sunday

@frog3101 We have all kept telling you that you are getting stronger through this, hope you believe us now! Let me know how parent conference went last night (notice that I said parent, not parents, hoping FH didn't show up.)

@Kirby Continued prayer for your son

@Breezy_Carol So glad you have your friends to rely on, as well as your family. Wondering if your company is going to think just adding 2 more hours to your weekly schedule will make much of a difference? I totally understand your not wanting to go back to 40 hours again.

@Bianca and Bernard Those Kohl's pj's look so comfortable, I am going to pick up a couple of pairs. I just got 3 pairs of Charter Club ones from Macy's on Wednesday. I had bought them online on Monday. Then I looked them up and all 3 pairs were on sale for a lot less than I paid. I had to have 2 online chats, wasting an hour of my time, to get them to give me a price adjustment. The first guy kept insisting that what I paid was the lowest price, even after I sent him the links to the pages, showing I didn't. Then he told me he did the adjustment, but he lied. The second guy took care of everything, and I had my refund within an hour. Hey, $20+ is better in my pocket than in theirs!

I am not into baseball at all, but I can commiserate with those of you who have teams playing, that aren't doing as well as you hoped.

I did so many chores yesterday that there isn't much left to do, lol!

Have a nice morning all

The Fort does go all out!
It was another spectacular Halloween at the Fort, our loop was full all night long and it was insane but fun!!! I will have to post photos when we have time and hop on a bus or when we head over to Universal.
We're hoping to go there and Gatlinburg in early June next year.
Gatlinburg is gorgeous, we go there every night when we are in town and if we go without the RV, we like to stay there instead of Pigeon Forge!! It's just a nightmare trying to pull a 40ft rig into Gatlinburg, so we deal with the insanity of the Pigeon Forge strip! LOL
Bailey and I have the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) 5k tomorrow. Obviously with her being 7 months pregnant, we will be walking it this year.🚶‍♀️
That is fantastic!! Hope it all goes well!!

Hello everyone!! We have arrived safely in Disney World and in time for Halloween of course, but it has just been go-go-go, so we are trying to get everything a bit more scheduled so we can relax!!
How are you all doing? Weather has been muggy and just 1 day of rain so far, so not too bad but I do miss that Midwest Autumnal weather!!

Frog You do sound like you are getting stronger and handling things as they come up. That is great.

@DisneyMommyMichelle Glad you made it to WDW. Hope you are having fun.

B&B My upper manager would not promote me. He just wants to hand over things from my supervisor now that she got promoted. I feel that it is not my issue that he promoted her and now gave her so much to do that she needs to offload tasks. I am able to financially retire but I need to keep busy at this point. However, 40 hours week working is too much. I figured once I moved I would look into retiring next winter as I would not want to go into the office from almost an hour away in the winter weather and roads. By then I would want to be looking at volunteering at the senior center in the town I end up in and maybe taking some classes. I may look into a very part time job in the area too.

I took some time off today to get some errands done that I cannot do on the weekend. I got a sticker for my car, went to the bank, did some grocery shopping, and treated myself to a cappuccino. I came back and vacuumed and washed the wood (laminate) floors. I have a laundry on. I will check in with work later to see if any urgent emails came in as my supervisor is out today.

I am waiting for the floors to dry and then I am taking a walk. Nice day today, around 65 and sunny.

Good morning(afternoon) all. Last day of watching my niece as her parents will be home this evening. Boy, I forgot how exhausting it is taking care of a schoolager. LoL Of course not as hard and when they are really little but still tiring. I haven't been sleeping well thinking i might sleep through the alarm so Ive been so tired during the day. I'll probably stay the night and go home in the morning to avoid traffic but I cant to be home. It's been COLD in San Diego. Yesterday was windy and rained quite hard in the afternoon. DH and DD say it's been colder at home but I expect it there and not here. LoL

I bought some pjs from Old Navy too. I bought them for the three of us...matching for Christmas. It's the ornament pattern, I cant get it to link to that one. DH loves it. Haha. Actually he doesnt mind. This was a couple weeks back when they were on sale and I had a coupon that you could use with the sale...which doesn't happen often anymor. So I only paid less than $40, including shipping for all three.

biscuit pot pie
That's one of our favorites. Yum. DD and DH especially loved it.

If you ever have the option for

Butternut Squash Agnolotti

with Kale in a Sage Brown Butter Sauce...yum... you need to try it. OMG it is soo good and I usually don't like kale....and wow don't mind the font size I copy and pasted.

Alright i guess thats it for now. I thought I quoted more but don't see them now.

Hope you all have a nice day. Im gonna reat until school pick up. LoL

Good Morning dear friends from very chilly LA,

I am wearing a long sleeve T shirt right now and am still feeling a bit chilled. Lol, time of life change often has me feeling cooler during the day and then when I get in bed at first a night, a bit too warm. All good though, no complaints. Dad and I had a bit of an unusual evening last night. We lost power from about 8pm until dad said close to midnight when he went to bed. I was thankfully already asleep by then. Dad stays up later. We gave God extra thanks for safe, warm shelter (yesterday was windy), health and each other, and of course forever Him, our Light no matter what. We also played by battery operated lantern light Racko and Uno. That was fun. I discovered lol it is easier to read in bed with the assistance of a lantern and small flashlight than it is to do likewise sitting on the couch. Extra blessing indeed to have power this morning and that, of course, the outage did not last longer to where any food went bad in our fridge or freezer. I definitely recommend having battery operated lanterns and also being sure, especially at this time of year, that you also have extra batteries!

I hope you and Tom also enjoyed a cozier, simpler dinner last night, Bobbiwoz!🍞🧀🥣

:grouphug:Snowysmom. I’m so glad, you and your friend had a good lunch. An extra blessing indeed. ITA that you need to step back a bit and do what is right for you especially work-wise. Don’t feel as though you need to take on more than you know at heart will be positive for you. Another blessing to have options and, of course, it has sounded like, some wonderful supportive colleagues as well. Of course, YOU make such a difference to those you work with as well. Remember that, please!

Have a good day, PollyannaMom! Please keep warm out there, my friend, your kitties, too!🐈

Those are pretty pajamas, B&B! :flower:I would probably like them in long pants. I got an email from Kohl’s earlier saying that today only when you spend $50 you get $15 back in Kohl’s cash. Dad and I haven’t shopped at Kohl’s since before the pandemic. The closest one to us is a good 45 minutes away. Normally you have to spend I think $70 or so to get free shipping to home. I do like that type of thin non-elastic-y waistband. I have had disappearing strings many a times. What I have come to learn to do, is tie a knot in them before placing in the wash limiting at least a little more an escape route for the string!

:thanks: Footballmouse and Bailey for participating in the walk tomorrow! Great cause and blessing for you to get to have that experience together. Reminds me that one day, God-willing when Covid is over or much more settled, it would mean so much to me to get to participate in some way (probably not the walk itself but in making baskets or manning a table at the event, etc.) the Relay for Life with my dad. Nothing wrong with enjoying a tried and true favorite meal!

Judique, I hope you have enjoyed your 🍬 treat! As far as HF, :cheer2: you on in all always, my friend, you know that. Good for you for actively working toward a better food/weight balance. I know that is not easy!

$20💵 is always a wonderful extra blessing to have in your pocket, dear Lynn! I hope your own new pajamas will keep you comfortable and cozy, my friend.

Wishing you and your family safe and wonderful fun at WDW, DisneyMommy Michelle!::MickeyMo

Awesome 🛍️AuntieMe3 Enjoy extra time with your niece. Prayers for a safe :car:home.

Have a great Friday, everyone. I will check in later. Maybe the 💌will even show up today!

Bottom of page 1 again :( @flyingdumbo127 Just so you know,,the Kohl's pj's are a 3 piece set, shorts, top and long pants! I ordered 2 sets of them a little while ago

Its 78 degrees outside and feels like summer again! I did almost nothing today, except dishes, and clean out the fridge and freezers. Have to go down now and wrap Don's birthday gifts while he's asleep. Dinner is going to be whatever leftovers I came across in the fridge today. He's requested crab cakes for tomorrow, and I bought ribs for Sunday. So those dinners are planned and will leave more meals for leftovers

Have a nice afternoon/evening !

You posted just ahead of me, thank you dear Lynn for the thread save! Happy, Happy Birthday to Don tomorrow! Thank you so much for the Kohl's pj info. I would never though wear the shorts unless it was super-hot one summer night and they were longer. I will look at the link again and of course thank you and B&B for sharing :)

On an Old Navy note, for every $25 right now, you get $10 in Super Cash to use starting in December. Dad will be going to our closest ON in a little while to look at the XS version of the pajamas I got from old navy online. The store is also holding for me one of the hot cocoa printed pajamas. To go with pajamas, if any of you are looking for warm Bootie Slippers I have gotten these before on Amazon in both pink (I am wearing now) and the brown colors. The brown seem to fit bigger than the pink just as an FYI. I also, keep in mind I do wear a 9 1/2 in shoes. For slippers I also always wear socks inside of them. I am mentioning these slippers especially today because Amazon has an extra 15% coupon on them. Always trying to save a fellow Quacker family member some money :)

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon, friends.

Good evening.

No way I can keep up with all the activity here now that live is getting a little more normal.

We had a nice week in Florida. It was interesting exploring a new area. The area was nice and we found some nice restaurants. The sand is gorgeous and white, the water clear and so blue. The condo was nice and had a great view. The floor plan was a little quirky, to walk between the bedroom and living area, you had to go through the bathroom. Other than that, which we got used to, it was very nice. We did ride bikes 3 or 4 times. The only downer was it wasn't quite as warm as Sanibel. We went into the water two or three days but it was chilly coming out. We sat on the beach until sunset every day.

We stopped at DS's house on the way home and had dinner there. Then Halloween we got to see DD and her kids.

Now back to life at home. I am going back to WW meetings, yoga twice a week, and Tuesday's at church. DH and I hiked yesterday and biked today.

A few things I saw and quoted.

Anyone else making plans for Thanksgiving already?
We have. We have to share the kids with their in-laws and my brother goes to his in-laws in NJ for Thanksgiving too. So we will host our traditional Lamesgiving on Friday with both kids and their families, and my brother and his wife and maybe 2 more. I think I will have beef stew this year. It is so easy. On Thursday we will go to Sarah's new house where she will host her in-laws and us.
Didn't win the billion, but have another chance next drawing. I didn't even get one number!
I rarely buy a ticket. (I don't like gambling and was brought up not to.) I did buy one this time and got no numbers.
@Breezy_Carol . I totally understand your not wanting to go back to 40 hours again.
Wrong person, I have no intention of ever going back to work. :rotfl2:

Precious grandkids, Carol! So good to see you, my friend. I'm grateful you had a good trip. I'm sorry, of course, it was chilly. Wow, you are certainly busy already back at home! Thank you, always, for all you do in service to God at church!

ON update is that I was right. The flannel printed pajamas that say "for the fam" are a different material and fit than the few (including the cocoa print) that don't. Dad did bring me home XS in the red tartan print. They now are close to being the same size as small is in the cocoa print. The material is just not soft. Back eventually they will go. I, of course, feel so badly dad has to go back there again. I did ask this morning a sales associate to hold both the red and cocoa pajamas for me so dad could compare the feel in store on both. She said she would. When he got there only the red where in the back for him. The store may very well have sold the last cocoa print before the associate was able to get them. Anyway, now I know and all of dear you, do, too. I hope this helps any of you thinking of buying these pajamas which, of course, was my reason for sharing all this.

Love to all and sweet dreams!

Have a good day, PollyannaMom! Please keep warm out there, my friend, your kitties, too!🐈

It was nice and warm by the time I took them out, and they had a good day. They were both glad to see DS this afternoon, too. - One especially considers him her person.

This morning was so foggy! I had to leave a few minutes after I posted earlier to watch the twins for a bit and drive them to school, and it's a good thing I had the GPS on my way to their house. - You couldn't see very far at all!

It was better by the time we left for school, though, and drop-off went smoothly. (My "niece" was happy to have her hair braided, too!) Since I was over that way, I stopped at ALDI's on my way home, which was a nice bonus.
