Happy November! 🍁

Worked yesterday day shift so I raced home so that I could be ready for the Bengals game at 8:00 🏈. Grabbed a taco salad from a little taco place on the way home.

Working from home today. I really wish election day was today, I'm so tired of all these political commercials.😖

Our trick or treat time was 6-8 last night. Since I wasn't going to be home, I had to remember to turn my pumpkin light and my porch lights off before I left for work in the morning.

Only plans I've made for Thanksgiving was letting the kids know that I have to work that night. I offered to have them over for a lunch instead of dinner so we'll see what we all decide.🦃

Well I guess I better start working, have a great day!

Happy Halloween! 🎃

@Bianca and Bernard Had to laugh at the ear-aser. I'm quite fond of palm trees as it usually means I'm vacationing somewhere great!
I agree with @lynxstch -- Now that I see the bleeding TV it looks like a Halloween effect! Good luck with the technician, hope it's a quick fix.

Best of luck with the lottery @Judique and @Bianca and Bernard and anyone else who is playing!

@Kirby Sending good thoughts for your son. I imagine this is a stressful time for him but also for you. Keeping you all in my thoughts.

@flyingdumbo127 Thank you for your kind offer! 🤗 I'll be sending you a message soon.

@footballmouse Wishing you a restful day working from home. Hope you can get a well-deserved break today.

@lynxstch I was happy to see a win for the Pats! Happy Halloween to you as well!

@PollyannaMom Happy Halloween! Your picture reminds me of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." We watched it last night for the first time in several years.
Didn't win the billion, but have another chance next drawing. I didn't even get one number! Still have to go cash out my $50 scratch off. I'll save it till the 3rd drawing in the event this prize hangs around after next drawing.

I do 1-2 tickets on big drawings and almost always buy 'vacation' tickets while out of town. So I gamble a few dollars 3-4 times a year. My budget for my vacation spend is $20 or less - lottery ticket and maybe 1-2 scratch offs.

On one trip I won $800 on my $20. The next trip my traveling companion won $500. Sometimes I win enough to cover the ticket cost at the moment. Although I haven't kept track I think I'm ahead by a few dollars.

I came home from a trip in 2018 and hadn't spent my $20. Son had decided to go to the casino. I gave him the $20 and went to bed. In the morning I found $1400 on my kitchen table. Later on I shared with him.

Another habit - forgetting I bought a ticket and finding it months later!

Good morning all. Not 1 Powerball # here either :(
Very foggy now, temp is 55, we are going to 73 today!
No trick or treaters here, as always, so I don't even bother buying extra candy. Hoping that Walmart tomorrow will have all their Halloween candy marked down. I always get a couple of bags and put them in the freezer, for those chocolate craving times.
@Bianca and Bernard So sorry about your niece, that is very sad :(

My Sister in law Cheryl and Niece Abigail tested positive for Covid yesterday. Not a good thing since all they have done for the last week is gallavant all over the place and be near a lot of other people. Niece had an allergy shot scheduled for yesterday in Morgantown, and I can't believe that the hospital even let her keep it. Cheryl was scheduled for a lumbar puncture today, but she had the sense to call and tell them she wasn't coming. Neither of them can take the oral drug, as they both have so many issues, that the oral one would cause too many interactions with all the meds they take.
Summer hasn't had any side effects (yet) from the oral chemo drug. They had her up the dose from 2 a day once a week to 4 once a day. Her rheumatologist called her yesterday to ask how she was doing. Summer told her that her hands are so bad, she can barely lift a pot of water. So now she has to drive 1 1/2 hours tomorrow to see the urologist, and 1 1/2 more on Thursday to get shots in her hands. If you can spare a prayer for all 3 of them, it would be greatly appreciated

Off to make a grocery list, gather trash and figure out what I want to do today.

Have a good one

First, sorry to hear about the covid. And Summer - what a trial for her! Prayers for all!

I gave out 7 treats - two to actual trick or treaters and I walked 5 treat bags next door to the family whose kids are just slightly old for trick or treating but still enjoy treats.

I made almost 40 bags and DD will take some to work tomorrow. The freezer is too easy for me to start snacking myself so that's out.

My other forum I follow on here is the credit card one, and since I go to Disney I keep a Disney card and also have had my DD apply for one. As chance would have it, her card got an offer for 10% off at the gas stations, which translates to Disney Dollars. Already collected $10 with her and myself getting gas and also one small Amazon purchase at 5%. This promotion allows earning up to $150 on $1500 by December 31,2022.

Needless to say, I want this card for my drive down to Disney this month. Thought it best to get myself an authorized user card. Of course the online links wouldn't work so DD had to call. Being a young person she figured Mom just didn't do it right! Haha...she so underestimates me! My penny pinching is notorious when it comes to Disney and I certainly wouldn't let these pennies slip through my fingers!

She went through all the online again to make sure I did it correctly. Finally she called. Asked for the card to be expedited so it should be here tomorrow. This promo counts Sam's Club and Costco gas in as well so, it's a really nice price for gas for 3 months - we've been using the card since I spotted the offer. Brings gas down to $3.02 at my local Costco, at least since last visit on Sunday.

I'll max the offer in Florida as I can finish it off instore at a couple of places. That's why I want a card with my name on it. Gas pumps don't ask who you are but a real person might ask for ID especially if I'm spending quite a lot.

:wave:and wishing all of you dear Quacker family members a blessed and Happy November! :grouphug:to all!

:thanks: for the survey info, B&B. I appreciate it! Keeping you and all of your family in extra prayers, all-around. I am so sorry about your niece :’( A smaller Thanksgiving sounds cozy. Dad and I will have here. I always also enjoy starting on my Christmas cards on Thanksgiving Day because to me that is an extra way to give God thanks for the family or friend I am writing to. PM me, dear B&B (any of you, dear Quackers, of course, as well), who would like Christmas mail from CA.

Precious, Grady, dear Pea! What an adorable :dogdance:! Thank you for that extra morning smile. Big extra hug to you, my friend. Please try to get some rest today!

Hooray for cute kiddos and dogs alike, PollyannaMom. Thank you for greeting them all with kind good cheer and I am sure a 🍬as well!

Footballmouse, I am so tired of all the election mess. Dad and I have now both completed our ballots. He will be dropping them off at a ballot drop box near the library on Thursday. Grateful that is done! 🙏 you get some extra rest please, too!

Good for you, Judique! don’t gamble at all ever, not for me as I have grown older. Dad had a close friend, George, who enjoyed scratch offs. I may have shared at one time about the toy rubber 🐵 that God used to bring my dad, another close friend of George’s, and myself, extra reassurance that indeed our friend was forever with Him at peace. Thank you for giving some kiddos treats, as well!

I “liked” your post for the beautiful picture, dear Lynn. A ton of extra love and prayers to you and those you extra care for as well, my friend. You and Don have a good Tuesday! 🌷

Today is my grandma's 104th birthday. I know she is thankful God had us all become connected. Thank all of you extra for your friendships this day. Reminder to tell those you love and care about that you do! I am also beyond extra grateful to God, meant to share this yesterday, for keeping my beloved dad safe on his way home yesterday afternoon. He shared with me that a car almost ran into him because the driver had sped through a red light! Thank God, dad was perfectly fine as is his car and the other driver apparently was angry at dad for his (other driver's choice). Keeping him in prayer, too. Extra reminder to please be safe on the road! :car:

Love to all. I will check back later.

Afternoon thread save from almost page 2!

Old Navy online has an extra 30% off+ pajamas (among other things) on sale to anyone interested.

🐥❤️

They sure don't have as many choices as they did last year when I bought 4 pairs. But now that I have lost all that weight (and kept it off!), all of mine are too big and won't stay up. lol. I found some on Macy's yesterday and bought 4 pairs there..had 30% off, plus I had Macy's rewards cash from the sheets I bought not too long ago.

Anyone else making plans for Thanksgiving already?
We were but it's stopped for now until we find out what DS's game plan is.

Hoping that Walmart tomorrow will have all their Halloween candy marked down. I always get a couple of bags and put them in the freezer, for those chocolate craving times.
Wished we lived closer. Between Lou Lou's Halloween costume parade last Thursday at preschool, a birthday party that Lil Joe attended over the weekend and trick or treating last night, we had four large mixing bowls of all sorts of candy. DD has taken most of it to work and shared it with her coworkers to give to their students.

Lil Joe and Lou Lou had a blast last night. We went to a neighborhood that we went to last year but in a different part. One street had almost every house decorated to the max. It was so fun! The weather was so nice that most people were sitting in their driveways giving out candy. And they had their dogs out there with them. Lou Lou petted each and every one after she asked permission. 20221027_083814.jpgIMG_1115.jpgIMG_1118.jpg

DS and wife met with his hematology doctor today. He has CMML, chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. It's rare, occurring in about 4 of every million people in the US each year. It's also rare for a person his age to get it. Most people that do are over 60. A doctor at MD Anderson in Houston has already accepted him as a patient and they are traveling down tomorrow for an appointment on Thursday. DS told me that a stem cell transplant will probably be the first thing that they do. We'll know more after his visit. It's really nice that his hematologist has already been communicating with the doctor in Houston. I really appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers and kind words.

@Kirby, I am sorry to hear this news. I am very glad you have MD Anderson near you and your son is going there. I just read about CMML a little bit. I cared for a patient this weekend who was also having numerous biopsies and waiting to hear news like this. (He was so nice, he gave me a cannolli that his family had brought in and made sure I ate it despite all he was going through.) As I tell my patients, we are very fortunate to be living in this day and age where there are advanced treatments that weren’t available even a couple of decades ago. He will be in my prayers going forward, and I hope you keep us updated on his progress. We care. :grouphug: I hope you are doing ok, too, it can’t feel good to get that news about your child.

@Kirby Prayers for your DS and your whole family as you deal with this illness.

Our DS and his Houston family will becoming to Cape May for Thanksgiving! They’ll fly into NYC and spend a few nights there, then come here for 3-4 nights. My DSis and her Honey will help DH and me host them as well as the Coast Guard recruits we will have as guests. So, there will be 12 of us here for Thanksgiving. We pick up the recruits at 11, and we’ll have a Polish themed buffet/brunch, and then a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. DDiL is a great cook and I’m guessing she’ll be adding a Cajun dish to the menu! Yum!

Tomorrow evening the Red Cross has a meeting on base for all Operation Fireside hosts. Our DS just decided to come here, we are thrilled!

@Kirby Sending prayers to you and your son. MD Anderson is a really good place so it sounds like your DS is in good hands.

@Pea-n-Me Grady looks so cute.

Yesterday was a busy day with work and then the therapist. I then stopped at Kenny's and we had dinner together. He had smoked some wings over the weekend and had leftovers. So good.

Have a good day.

Happy Wednesday! 🍁

Pretty slow day yesterday. I made some beef tips and noodles yesterday so I ran some up to my aunt last night. Guess I'll be having leftovers tonight.

I forget who was a Phillies fan in our little group. ⚾ I'm sure you're enjoying the World Series, I'm glad they're playing so good. Talk about a homerun show last night. Nick Castellanos played for the Reds last year so I'm cheering for them.

Kirby - I'm sorry to hear about your son's diagnosis.
That's all I have for the day, have a great day!

Phillies fan here!

What great plays Nick Castellanos has had!

@Kirby, the pics of the kids are so cute!

 on the rest of your post.

@Kirby--I totally agree with Pollyannamom. I wish that we could use more than just one 'like' at a time. I would use the love one, and the sad one. Your pictures of the kids were so adorable. Thanks for sharing. I am so sad for you and your son, and family, at his diagnosis. But it sounds like he has found a good caring Dr, and that they will be able to do something for him. Prayers sent to all

Good foggy morning everyone. Another 70 degree day coming up, in fact the rest of the week, and weekend are calling for the same! Trash is outside waiting for pick up, paper hasn't come yet though. Will be heading out shortly. Don has to have bloodwork done for his cardiologist appointment in 2 weeks. Then it's off to Aldi's and Walmart. Might stop at Gabriel Brothers while out that way, it's been a long time since I've been out there. I am looking for a longish length sweater to wear banging around outside at this time of year, can't find anything I like online that doesn't cost an arm and a leg

Have a nice morning all.
