Good rainy afternoon. Our crazy weather report at 2:30 was this precise!

View attachment 704255
we shall see!

That is incredibly precise but could apply to our area earlier today. We had enough sprinkles to wet the deck then sun came out than sprinkles again. Now it's bright and sunny.

I ordered a new cover for a very old patio loveseat which is on my deck and already had the new cushions on it. Wasn't paying attention and the cushions are damp, not soaked. Meanwhile, the cover had arrived 2 days early and I missed the notification so now have to get it all dry before I cover everything again.

Big:grouphug:B&B, what a hard situation :(

Indeed, much early Anniversary congratulations to Pea and Lynn!

:hug:extra to you as well, Footballmouse. I also, of course, feel badly for the bird.

🌼Judique and you just know always how blessed your kids and grandkids are to have you.

Whoopie pies to go with your pot pies, Easyas! :D Smooth weekend work prayers ahead and I do hope you get in some clothes 🛍️ I so look forward to one day being able to do the same.

PollyannaMom, thinking of you. How is your son doing this afternoon? 🙏

That is cray back and forth weather 🌧️ :sunny:Bobbiwoz and Judique! Oh no, Judique, I'm sorry about your cushions :(

Extra :grouphug:to you, dear Frog.

One package from BB&B has come. Waiting for Rite Aid. Dad did get the tire pressure reset on my car at no charge :cheer2:
Nissan said an oil change would take 3 hours :scared1:Needless to say, dad passed on that! He will bring the car to a closer repair shop you we have a long history with next week to get that done along with afront brake check. Told dad the longer waits are why pre Covid, I would have Nissan drive me (complimentary shuttle) to ⛪which was only 10 minutes or so away. I would do some work or volunteer stuff and then when the car was ready either someone from church would drive me over or Nissan would come pick me up. Covid means no more shuttle at the moment so dad would have had to sit there. Next week :)

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon, friends.

It's been a rough week. DS has decided that he is ready to be an adult and make his own decisions, and moved to Illinois somewhere, with some person he became friends with through online video gaming over the past few years...
...there just aren't very many VIP tours at this time of the year. She's been trying to get cross trained, but it's slow going; so she just got a 2nd job. Free entry to LL and DL? Yes please! We were planning on going to both in January, when we go to visit, so that will save us some money, lol.
The free entry certainly is nice!

And the Whoopi pies look delicious. Good luck!

PollyannaMom, thinking of you. How is your son doing this afternoon? 🙏

Fingers crossed for him, hope he has been having a good day.
So far, so good. I think we may have the meds and limitations figured out for the time being. We shall see.

It's pouring rain here too.

@Pea-n-Me and @lynxstch Happy Anniversaries.

@PollyannaMom Good thoughts that your DS continues to feel better.

B&B It is hard when the kids get off track. You can't help but worry about them. Please take care of yourself.

@tazdev3225 Love the pictures of your Disney meets.

It has been raining here all day. We had thunderstorms this morning. My new office overlooks a lake so it is interesting to watch the dark clouds gather and see the lightning. I was absolutely pouring for a while. Now it seems to be a steady lighter rain. So dark and dreary.

It was nice to go into the office and see everyone. We talk alot so the work comes second! LOL! Next week I will be going in on Wed so not as many people will be there. I guess I will have to work more.

I got the cleaning guy to come to Joe's apt next week. After not hearing back from my contact at the complex I just called the main office. Well, my contact is on vacation but her message does not say that. They are aware of what is going on so we settled on a day for the cleaning guy to come. That way my contact can go to the apt on Monday and take what she would like for the boutique as well as any DVD's she would like. They have movie night at the complex every week and we found alot of good old movies in Joe's apt. I am glad they will get some use. The cleaning guy does recycle and find ways to reuse items that are in good shape. I did tell all of them that we won't be coming back to the apt as we do not live in the area. We did our cleaning and have all that we need. We are fortunate that there is someone who is available to do the cleanout and the complex has cleaning people who will do the vacuuming etc that needs to be done. It is worth paying for as we know it will be done the way they want it done.

I have the day off tomorrow and plan to do my grocery shopping, errands, vacuuming, and I have a haircut appt. I so need that done especially before the trip. I also have 2 watches I need to get batteries for. I am sure I will find some other things to do. I have done Christmas shopping for the grandkids and ordered Halloween books for them. I always make up a Halloween bag for them with goodies and a book. Chris bought 2 train sets a few years ago with the thought of giving them to each family once the kids were a bit older. Well, this is the Christmas they will get those. I also got each grandkid an educational toy and a game. Next up will be clothes and books. I do plan way ahead. Now what do I get the kids? And I will get soon to be ex DDIL a gift. I like her and hope to still have a cordial relationship with her.

Have a good rest of the day.

Good afternoon.

Temperature definitely dropping now.
We had enough sprinkles to wet the deck then sun came out than sprinkles again. Now it's bright and sunny.
That is about how much rain we had. No downpours and no thunder and lightning, as predicted.

Just drove down to Middletown to go to the Amish Market and DD's house. I had something for her and she had something for me to take to DS when we go there Saturday. DD was working at home today, which was a good things because the workers came to install the fence they have been waiting for since they settled on this house. Looks very nice and Paisley loves being able to run free again.

At home we have been moving some furniture around in the two guest rooms upstairs.

I made 100 pumpkin whoopie pies w/cream cheese filling and toasted spiced pecans,
They looked good. I had to avoid all that good stuff at the markets today. Did get a donut though.

“up with good, down with bad.”
I have said that a million times, sometimes with the second line of "the good go to heaven and the bad go to hell." People remember.

Chicken on the Foreman grill, a tossed salad, and ??

Here's to it coming full circle with your DS. Had no problems with my son and younger daughter, but......

Older DD took me through the ringer. It would take a book to write down all of her exploits from about age 16 on. It got better. She's in her 40ties now and doing well, but I spent a lot of time worrying.

The whoopie pies look delicious!

Good luck and hope you win first prize.
Sadly, we got 4th. The 1st and 2nd place winners were store-bought cake (pumpkin spice) and pie (apple), in that order; beautifully done, DH said, but thinks doing store bought was cheating. 3rd place was also a cake, but homemade; very pretty and fall like, with apple and caramel filling, and caramel icing. I should have rolled them in the pecans, instead of adding them to the inside of the whoopie pies; ah well....at least I sent enough for all of DH's co-workers! (there's 70-75 in the building).
B&B :grouphug:
Those Whoopie Pies look delicious!!

Thanks @bobbiwoz They came out really well this time...not overly pumpkin-y, not overly pumpkin spice-y, not too cream cheese-y....if that all makes sense. LOL

Thanks, all, for the words about DS. I've developed a twitching facial muscle, on the lower left side of my face...it pops up when I'm stressed (ever since I was a kid). It's rough, since he's my baby, ya know. With the girls, I was back at work right after they were born (6 weeks for DD#1, 2 weeks for DD#2...needed to pay bills), but I was able to stay home for a full year with him. He's so far behind socially; the pandemic really did hit his social skills; he hasn't learned to drive a car yet (he would panic getting behind the wheel, and with all the other stuff going on, we didn't push it); and he is still needing his meds/therapy. He has a credit card he owes on (that he got when he was in CA), and he needs to eat and pay for staying where ever he is, so he has to get a job right away. I did give him all the cash I had on hand when he left ($60) and gave him another $100 via bank account transfer, so he could have food money until he started working. I'm giving him money for his birthday (via transfer) on the 1st, and probably the same thing at Christmas. It's terrifying, though, not knowing if he's eating or safe, or taking his meds...at least when he was with DD, I knew he was ok.

Time to make the dinner, y'all have a good night.

🌸PollyannaMom, wonderful update! Know, always, you remain in my prayers and always heart:hug:

:hug:Snowysmom, truly so happy you not only have a wonderful loving family but kind coworkers as well, praise God! Aw, you are such a sweet grandma! What are the ages of your grandkids again? That would help me to think of suggestions, thank you. I LOVE that they will be inheriting 🚋from Chris! I know that will be special to him, too, my friend.

:cheer2:Bobbiwoz and praise, praise God indeed for connecting you and Tom with such a good therapist. Extra continuing prayer with love to you both.

Very thankful you are safely 🏡dear Carol and that you also got to see your daughter and grand :dogdance:too!

Big:grouphug:B&B. Please PM me if you would like some 💌

Both packages have come and the only changing weather here will be to in the 90' s over the weekend🌞Opposite it seems of a lot of dear you.

Wishing all of you a good evening. Watch something fun and relaxing tonight 📺

Whew! It got warm today, up to 98. Sat out in it at Lil Joe's first coach pitch baseball game.

I've been poked and prodded and stuck this week. Had my yearly exam on Tuesday. Got a flu shot and pneumonia shot. My left arm was only slightly sore from the flu shot but my right arm is still sore from the pneumonia shot. My whole arm hurt yesterday but is better today, just hurting to my elbow. Then I had my mammogram today. I haven't had one that hurt this bad in a couple of years. When I went into the changing room after it was over, I looked in the mirror and my whole chest was red. That's never happened before.

Went to Bible study this morning. It's about women in the Bible and we have a different one each week until the end of April. I haven't been able to attend for a couple of years, timing wasn't right with keeping the GK's. Now it's from 10 - 11 am while Lou Lou is in preschool on the other side of the church. There's a service project 30 minutes before. I helped restock and straighten up the pews in the auditorium. They go out to lunch each week also, whoever wants to go. I had my mammogram at 12:30 so I couldn't go out to eat but next week I can. Today was about Rebekah, last week was Hannah.

Anyone watching DWTS? I didn't sign up with Disney+ so had to catch up with my favorites on You Tube. I really like Wayne Brady and will at least look up his dances. I also like Cheryl Burke and Mark Ballas. Glad to see him back on the dance floor.

I need to watch last night's Survivor. I've been watching Bosch on Prime and have really gotten into it. It's a hard decision but I'll have to watch Survivor just to keep up before it's spoiled for me.

Prayers for all that are in need.

Happy Friday! :figment:

Didn't do anything yesterday after work. Started watching the beginning of a Law & Order crossover 3 pt. show. I don't like when shows do that. I like Law & Order but not the other two. I didn't finish the show, I'm sure the killer was caught.

I've been watching Bosch on Prime and have really gotten into it.
I really liked that show. I think it took me a little over a week to watch the entire series. There's a new Bosch series that picks up after the original show ends, it has a little different spin on it but I like it.

I was going to cut the grass today but I don't think it really needs to be cut so I'll give it a break for another week. Once I do that next week then I'll put my Halloween decorations in the yard, already have things decorated inside the house.🎃

I work all weekend so I'll get the house cleaned today and maybe even clean the garage. I do have a little craft project that I want to get done, shouldn't take long. I'll take the dogs for a walk this morning, haven't done that lately and I know they enjoy it.:dog:🐕

Have a great day!

Good morning!

55° and windy this morning in Cape May.

Had a surprise visit from a young man yesterday. Thaddeus is now 30, and I haven’t seen him since he was maybe 10. DH had never met him. He’ll join us for dinner today where we’ll catch up some more. He’s the youngest child of 10, of friends we had in Yardley. Once we moved to Ohio, (1993) we saw the family very infrequently, but when I did, it was here in Cape May. Thaddeus was in CM taking a break from work and family, and enjoying the architecture here, and doing drawings. Glad he remembered me.

Good morning all. It's a lovely cool morning here in MD. 45 degrees! Yikes..had to put a sweater on to go outside this morning. Going to 66 today, and down to 43 tonite. Then a slight warm up for the weekend. I am going to start doing some of my 'winter to do' list today. Will take in the summer decorations and put up fall. Need to get rid of the pots of flowers I have around the yard. They are starting to look very straggly, and like end of the season for them. Mums are doing well though.

Watched Amazing Race , so far no favorites. Same with Survivor,,no favorites, and I don't see any 'eye candy' guys to watch this season either,,they are slipping, lol! also saw all 3 Chicago shows last night, hard to keep up with all the returning and new shows already.

No other plans for the day. Yet...lol.
Have a good morning all

@PollyannaMom Hope your DS is continuing to do better.

B&B :grouphug: Thinking of you

@flyingdumbo127 My grandkids are 7, 5 1/2, 5, 4, 3, and 4 months. Older DS's are 5 1/2 and 4. The rest belong to younger DS. I feel like I have good holiday gifts for the kids this year. It is the first year I am doing it all alone. Last year Chris and I picked out some gifts before he passed in September. Plus I do have the train sets he bought them.

It is a cool but sunny morning. I am off work today. I went out and did my grocery shopping and got everything put away. I bought some extra stuff today like paper products and halloween candy for the grandkids as well as sour patch kids to lure reluctant DGS onto the plane. I spent almost $100 which shocked me but I did stock up on stuff. I didn't even buy any meat. Yesterday I went to a small family run supermarket in the area which I like and got some deli turkey, produce, and some chicken cutlets. I spent about $30 there. But I won't need to buy too much next week so it will work out. But, I am finding the prices just keep going up. This has to stop at some point, right? I don't know how big families do it.

I am off to Michaels to buy some picture frames for the grandkids pictures. Even though I know I am going to move in the early Spring I would like some pictures on the walls. I will use command strips so no holes in the walls. I also plan to vacuum, wash tubs, and have a hair appt. I may pick up some Chinese food for dinner tonight and to have leftovers for the weekend. Tomorrow I am going to older DS's as he has the kids for the weekend. I told him I wanted to take them to dinner at a local place near their house. I have been craving their food.

Hello everyone,
I‘m sorry it has been so long. Life just hurts right now, and somehow writing it down makes it more real, if that makes any sense. Kris is getting sicker and weaker everyday. He is not the person he was before this nightmare began. He has started a new Chemo, we tried to get into a research study but his blood did not have the needed markers. Chemo is hell, but the decision to stop will have to be his. The cancer has spread to his bones now, and he fell and badly bruised some ribs. He has to be very careful and mindful of his movements.

Thank you, Snowysmom for keeping us in your thoughts. We are still going on our trip to Maine. Kris is insisting, he knows it is a place I always wanted to go. We will take it easy, and go at his speed. We took the car in and had it checked over, all was fine, so hopefully we will have smooth travels. I have started packing, and Saturday we are getting together with my sisters to finalize some of our travel plans. We will decide who brings what for the rental home.

We are awaiting the birth of a new grandchild in November. They have decided not to find out the sex of the baby this time. And our other DD is planning a very quick wedding in Dec. These are such happy things, but bittersweet at the same time. Our children have been very supportive all while going through their own grief.

We got some more bad news, one of my very oldest and dearest friends has been diagnosed with stage 3 anal cancer. This is a very ugly and painful cancer. I wish I could be there for her more, but she lives about 6 hours away and I can’t leave Kris for that long.
Well, that’s enough for now, I am so tired, only getting 2-4 hours of sleep a night.
I have enjoyed following along even if I don‘t post very often.

Dazedx3, so much on your plate right now. Prayers for you and your family plus your friend and her family.

I am so foggy this morning. I stayed up to watch the first episode of Survivor, not too late, just 10:30 pm. I'm trying Melatonin for when I can't sleep and took one just in case because I really wasn't feeling tired so don't know if this tired feeling is the Melatonin or just me. I got about eight hours of sleep, this was the second time taking a pill and I felt the same way the next morning when I took the first pill. Not sure if I will continue or not.

Lou Lou and I are heading out soon to run errands. Have to make a bank run. Then we are off to find shredded hash browns. I want to make Funeral Potatoes on Sunday. Kroger had hardly any frozen potatoes Wednesday, no hash browns at all. We're going to Fresh by Brookshires first. I also want to pick up a couple of mums for the pots at the front door. My Caladiums were beautiful even through all that heat this summer but they are fading fast now.

Have a good day!

Good morning.

Cool morning in this part of MD too. 55 when I got up. Had to put on jeans for the first time in months. Thank heavens they still fit. LOL Bright sun too. Leaves are falling off the tress. Definitely fall.

No plans for the day. Doing laundry. DH working on some furniture in the garage trying to improve the finish.

I just decided I am tired of DS and DD and DH. I trust you all so may as well use names. (Everyone can make their own decisions on this.) DS is Andrew and his wife is Jennifer. DD is Sarah and her husband is Justin. DH is Jack. It is less confusing for me this way.

Andrew and Jennifer have a wedding tomorrow evening and we are going down to babysit Marty. Andrew called this morning as they were leaving pediatrician for what was supposed to be Marty's 6 month visit. Turned into a sick visit with Marty after he threw up, as Andrew said "a lot", last night. He wondered if we would still watch him. I told him we would as we had watched Carter and Tessa when they were sick and couldn't go to daycare. I am sure they are worried as this is the first time Marty has been sick. Probably daycare. Andrew did advise we bring extra clothes. LOL

I don't like when shows do that.
Me either, and they did that with NCIS this week too. Had to watch NCIS: Hawaii to see the ending.

@dazedx3 , HI right back at you. Glad you checked in. Prayers coming your way. I hope you have a great time in Maine.

I want to make Funeral Potatoes on Sunday.
Had to google them. Look yummy.

Off to face the day.
