Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good Morning with an extra :hug:to all!

Hooray that you enjoyed a slush puppie treat, PollyannaMom 🍧 I do remember as a young kid loving my Snoopy Sno Cone Machine until it stopped working. Wow, it's still being made. I'll have to remember that for future kids/church activities to come.

:hug:Judique, thank you from me as well for your donations. It is not easy to let go of stuff at times or get started sorting/organizing stuff! For me, it was (still is at times) a freeing process. I hope you find that, too.

God Bless your BIL's brother, Footballmouse. I am very grateful he chose to go on the 🛳️and had a good time. Very happy, of course, your sister has fun too and is safely back. Enjoy seeing her pictures and hearing more about her adventure.

Continued🙏Bobbiwoz to you and Tom! Thankful to hear you are feeling better and enjoying a good 📕too.

Good for you getting a haircut💇‍♀️Lynn. ETA: Hooray that your hair feels better having been cut. I always did like the lighter/fresh feel of a new haircut. Yikes to the price although that sounds similar to what dad paid for his lasyt haircut at Supercuts. That was on a Tuesday which is when they offer a discount on haircuts. My own hair sure desperately needs one and help as well lol. So very dried out. It's definitely much longer than it has been possibly ever since it's now been 2 1/2 years since it has been cut (before Christmas of 2019) I have yet to find a wining shampoo/conditioner combination. Dad, the hairdresser, will be called into service sometime soon. Love your Christmas :dumbo:picture. Brings back the memory of my suggesting to DL that during December Dumbo (on the ride) wear a Santa:santa:hat. Of course, continued health prayers for you and M. L always.

:dog2:prayers, Easyas for the vet's visit. I am not a candle person except there is something so special about singing Silent Night at a Christmas Eve later night service with a candle. I know lots of folks who are. I hope you enjoy your using your gift card. Always fun to use one of those.

Loved all the pictures. Thank you, Taz, for letting us meet you in an extra way through your photo. Love all your trip pictures too and hearing about it. Beautiful 🌊shot. I'll take a plain chocolate chip brownie :D Congratulations to your granddaughter 👩‍🎓

:grouphug:Kirby, I would be happy to write a character letter for you any time! Continued prayer on the entire legal mess and first and foremost for the kids. Wow, what an adventure your sister's son had! I do remember that a former church pastor and her husband (or maybe it was their oldest son who made the trek) went on some type of (blanking out on the name of it now) longer holy trial walk years ago and enjoyed it.

:grouphug:B&B and much prayer to your DD. Covid really is heartbreaking and so awful too! :( Wow, I never heard of a milkshake bar. Sounds refreshing and fun! Enjoy! 🍨

Dad called to let me know he safely finished doing :laundy:Thank God, Joyce was at the laundromat and back to health. Now he's quickly getting a few things at Ralph's 🛒 then, he'll be home for the rest of the day and hopefully at least tomorrow if not Sunday as well. We got from Amazon yesterday some summer cookie cutters that we will try to make pancakes out of tomorrow or Sunday. I'll share a picture if it works! It's fun to have seasonal shaped pancakes. Something small and extra we can enjoy together. Always a blessing. We'll need to look into Autumn/Thanksgiving shapes next. I am not a traditional Halloween person at all so don't need that. We do have a small Christmas Tree cutter already. Little moments truly can be the most meaningful of times and blessings.

I'll check back later. Have a good Friday, Friends.

@TazDev love the cruise pictures. Chris and I sailed out of Seattle on our Alaska cruise so the scenery looked familiar. We loved seeing Mt. Rainier and watched it from the back of the ship as we left port. Glad you enjoyed the cruise.

@frog3101 You are in my prayers.

Lynn It sounds like your haircut will be great for the rest of the summer.

@flyingdumbo127 My kids and grandkids had/have the Snoopy sno cone maker. I will have to ask the grandkids to make me one.

I took a day off from work today. My younger DS and I went to Joe's apt. We met with the manager of the complex. They are so kind and caring. They know Joe well and are so sad. They will help us with whatever we need even if it means going to the hospice to notarize papers for Joe or bring something he needs. Luckily his apt and the hospice are only about a mile or 2 apart. We found all the papers we needed except one. DS will talk with the lawyer. Tomorrow we will visit Joe.

I took my early walk at 6:10 am and went out to get a coffee afterwards. Then we went to Joe's apt. I came back and did some errands around the area and got my supper for tonight, Chinese food that I will just heat up when I am ready. Then I came back to the condo. did my second walk of the day, vacuumed, washed the hardwood floors which is about 1/3 of the place, took the trash to the chute, went to CVS to pick up some stuff, emptied the dishwasher, and cleaned the kitchen sink. Done for the day. Tomorrow is another day for more housework and grocery shopping.

I got a bonus visit with the grandkids as I went to DS's house to pick him up this morning. They are so sweet. Younger DGD was still sleeping at 7:45. As I left older DGD came running up to give me a big hug and then DGS followed her. Little Sam gave me a little smile as he studied me. They are going to the Cape tomorrow for a few days with DDIL's parents.

Have a good rest of the day.

Good afternoon.

Got all our house keeping chores done this morning. Then I had a 1 pm pedi appt. Stopped at Food Lion on the way home for a few things.

Also some changes to our church meeting here tomorrow. Last night one other couple joined the group bringing us up to a total of 9 people. Then today, a different couple had to cancel because they tested positive for COVID. And, the church secretary called and said that the pastor has a funeral tomorrow so had to change the start time from 8:30 to 8 am. When I originally signed up, it was to start at 9. Oh well, it won't be as hot to meet on the porch.

mini trip report.
So far so good, Can't wait to hear more. And my favorite view is the wake behind the ship.
DD#2 test + yesterday.
Sorry to hear that. I keep hearing more and more people testing positive.
This time it was $27 plus tip. I was one of only 3 customers in the store, with about 8 stylists working. Maybe the prices are keeping people away. This is a small town, and you can't charge exhorbitant prices or you lose customers
Elkton is not a big town and I paid $45 for my last haircut, but it was an independent salon. There is a Schilling Douglas beauty school not too far that does really inexpensive hair with students. I used to go there and never had a problem, except you couldn't make an appointment.

Having tuna salad, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, and corn on the cob for dinner.

Happy Friday all...sounds like we all are experiencing some heat. It's a little humid here today and I got so sweaty, I just hopped in the shower to rinse(cool) off.

DH and I are headed south to San Diego for the weekend. We're meeting up with my sister and her family for dinner tonight near our hotel. My niece is going to go with us to the company family event tomorrow so she gets to spend the weekend at the hotel with us. It's only a couple of hours so we'll enjoy the pool after that and then take her home Sunday before heading home.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

:grouphug:Snowysmom and God Bless kiddos. I believe God often uses them extra as His angels to bring us comfort, healing, and remind us that always He is with and loves us. So grateful you have your grandkids close by. Also, glad you have good memories of your own Alaskan Cruise 🛳️

Much🙏 Carol, for the members of your church who have Covid. Thank you again for all you do for your church and hosting tomorrow's get together.

Enjoy your dinner and evening, Lynn. I hope your 📺is still working well and that you get to enjoy a good show or movie tonight.

Keep cool, AuntieMe3☀️and have fun in San Diego. I am not sure I have been there since before 2010. It was always a relaxing and enjoyable place to visit. As a kid I enjoyed a going to Seaport Village and to a vintage toy store located in it.

Enjoyed your trip report, Taz! Looks very relaxing! Footballmouse, I’m glad your BIL’s brother went on their Alaskan cruise with them! And Snowysmom, I’m happy you’re planning an Alaska trip, too! I want to do an Alaskan cruise some day. Auntie, have a nice time this weekend!

Sorry to hear more have Covid, it is really rampant right now. DD still is a little short of breath at times, and it’s been a month! Also sorry to hear legal wranglings are still causing havoc. 😕 Keep up the good fight. And hugs.

Glad you got a fresh haircut, Lynn. I love getting my haircut - going again this weekend. My hair grows fast. I’ve been blow drying it less and less, and it’s allowing the natural [post chemo] curl to settle in, which I like. Idk if I ever told you guys I went to the same hairdresser for about 35 yrs, then we had to part ways. I like the lady I go to now, but her hours have changed as she got a different job, so I have to go when she’s around. I was getting stressed out about it when she said she got a new job but so far it’s working out. Hopefully it stays that way!

Snowysmom I like that you’re enjoying your walks around your new place and meeing some neighbors. Nice you’re so close by to your son’s house and can see the grands when they’re still sleeping! So sweet.

Had a good shift yesterday. One patient I’d had a month ago was back. Sadly, things aren’t looking up for her. ☹️ As I was leaving she told me she loved me. That touched my heart. I wish I could’ve spent more time with her but I was busy, unfortunately, and I was having trouble breathing in her room with the type of N95 I had on. Ugh. (Now I feel bad.) My other patient thanked me for being motherly to her. She’s younger than me but has a mountain of health issues and kept me very busy. But nice to care for such grateful patients so when you leave, you feel like you made a difference.

DS was off today and invited me on a ride along the water with him and the dogs. It was early but I took advantage of it, hopping out of bed to brush my teeth, wash my face and throw some swim clothes on for later. It’s nice to be able to connect with just the two of us once in a while. Glad he’s in a good place, I think, and has his head on straight. I took a few pics to share just from the car. (He even happily pulled around once when I missed a shot knowing how I enjoy taking pics.)

I love the flowers out in front of this house! These are right across from a bay.

What a front lawn!

Can pull your boat right up here but it has to be during high tide!

Last night we had a re-do of the BLT salad we made last summer. It was so good, and easy - pasta, romaine, red onion, grape tomatoes, cheddar cheese, bacon, mayo and ranch dressing, with a little salt and pepper. Everyone enjoyed it. Not sure what DD and I are going to do for supper tonight, boys took the boat out and DD is just waking up after a couple of night shifts. We’ll find something, I might cook some eggs for us. Enjoying the quiet, at any rate! 🐥

I miss Yankee Candle. Used to live close enough to the Flagship store that I could go often.
Yes, that place is great!

@tazdev3225 great pictures from the trip. Looking forward to seeing more.
Me too!

I hope everyone else is staying cool and things are going ok. I know lots of people in our little group are still fighting big battles. Thinking of all of you.
 You are so sweet to be thinking of all of us while you're going through so much yourself. I hope the decisions go in your favor!

Today was busy here - took DS's car from the local shop to the dealership (battery was under warranty - yeah!) did random chores here, took some stuff over to the Lodge (DS came to help :) ) stopped by MIL's to say hi and get some quality playtime with their dog, then back to the dealership to pick up the car, and finally home. But DH beat us home and made dinner - yum!!

Wow, Pea, that is quite a lawn indeed! Beautiful picture taken by you a lovely lady with a beautiful, caring heart:grouphug: Thank you again, always, for the loving care and support you give to so very many, including, of course, us. Continued prayer for your DD.

:cheer2:PollyannaMom that your son's battery was covered by warranty and that you got to enjoy dinner made for you!

Wishing all of you a lovely good night. Sleep well, friends.

Wow, I go to Holiday Hair. The last time I went there (before I got sick), it was $16. This time it was $27 plus tip.
I currently pay $45 plus tip for my hair cut. It's hard to find a place cheaper unless you want to go to Great Clips. I may end up doing that once I retire.

Mona, it's so nice to hear about the enjoyment you get with being with your dad. What a special relationship you have and what a blessing you are to each other.

So many people coming down with Covid these days. No one can escape this current strain. I'm going to sign up to get my second booster next week. I've heard that while it's not real effective in keeping me from getting this strain of Covid it will hopefully help keep me from getting real sick.

Since we've talked about trips, let me tell you about mine. Besides getting to see the kids, we stayed at some nice hotels. The Holiday Inn Express in Tuscaloosa, MS was really nice, very clean and friendly staff. We stopped at Bucee's in Leeds, MS coming and going. If you ever get a chance to stop at one, do so, they are something else. You can always count on them to have clean bathrooms. This one had two entrances which makes it a good size but some that we have here have three entrances, they are gigantic.

We played the license plate game with some debate. I didn't want to count the 18 wheeler plates but DD did if the plates on the cab and the trailer matched so I said okay in that case. This also applied to anything that was being hauled. DH didn't like that we also counted cars in a parking lot but we over ruled him. We saw 38 different states plus Ontario and Chihuahua, Mexico. We used to play this game all the time on trips when the kids were home. The farthest license plate we've ever seen was Guam in Florida on our way to WDW. I told DD that next time we hit the road we would get settled on the rules before the trip.

There were trees, trees and more trees along our drive on I20 and on I26. Mostly pine trees lining the highways and in the medians. Saw lots of tree farms. On the way back through MS DH and I were wondering what mountain range we were driving through so low in the south. We talked to Google and found out that it was the lower end of the Appalachians. This led to more investigation into all the Eastern mountain ranges which was quite interesting.

Most of the rest stops that we stopped at were very nice. The first two days of travel we stopped at a rest stop for a picnic lunch. I love doing that, my sandwich always tastes better on a picnic for some reason.

We stayed at a Townplace Suites in Columbia, SC. The staff here was friendly, had a good breakfast, was clean and we loved our two bedroom suite. Too bad DD's ex had us moving on to Charleston, the GK's would have loved it there.

In Charleston we stayed at a Staybridge Suites near the airport. They upgraded us to a two bedroom/two bath suite which was amazing! I've never had that happen before. We ate our best meal for the whole week there at The Cod Father for lunch. The size of the fish fillets were unbelievable. We ordered not really knowing what we would receive, DH ordered a full order and his fish fillet was over 12 inches long and 6 inches wide. I got a half order and it was about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide. The cod was delicious! So were the fries and tartar sauce.

Saturday we took the GK's to the aquarium. It was real nice, sat beside the water. They had some nice exhibits. It got a little crowded which made us a little uncomfortable. On the way out we looked down at the water's edge and saw tons of little crabs crawling around. The kids got a kick out of them.

On the way to the aquarium, we were rear ended while sitting at a red light by a speeding local. He tried to miss us so only hit the left rear corner of our rental car. DH saw it all in his rear view mirror. Our car was drivable so we just drove it back to Texas and then turned it in.

We didn't explore downtown Charleston. After the aquarium, Lou Lou had a melt down, we were all tired and hungry so McDonald's it was and we took our food back to our hotel. Naps for everyone after that. That evening we just ate sandwiches or leftover pizza from the night before while watching movies we had borrowed from the hotel.

Sunday found us twiddling our thumbs. We played a new card game that I had purchased for the trip called Dog Man. We also played a round of Uno too. Since going to Charleston was a last minute change of plans for us, we didn't get to do any kind of research on the city. Lots of things did not open until noon that day and DD didn't want to go too far in case she didn't make it back for Lil Joe's drop off so we ended up at the movies. Then a nap was in order that afternoon too because Lil Joe was out of sorts. I'm thinking it was because he knew that he was having to leave his mom in a couple of hours.

Six o'clock came and Lil Joe was handed off. Lou Lou stayed at the hotel with us and took it real well. She can't wait to see her brother again. Neither can we.

On our way home we spent the night at a Fairfield Inn in Meridian, MS. We were not impressed. The staff was friendly but breakfast was not good. We were in a room on the second floor and the floor in our room was not level, not even in our bathroom or the hallway floors. The door to our bathroom just pulled to, did not close. It was clean though and we just decided to deal with it since we were just there for the night.

It felt so good to get back to Texas. I love trees but I don't like to be enclosed by them, I like my views. Oaks are my favorite. We celebrated being back in our home state by stopping for lunch at Whataburger. It was our second best meal of our trip.

Lou Lou told DD today that she wanted her hair cut just like hers so off they went to Great Clips and she looks so cute. It's cut higher in the back then in the front, wish I had a picture to show you.

DH and I had plans to go to dinner with friends but they had to cancel. He had back surgery six weeks ago and woke up this morning with clear fluid oozing out of the incision and all over the sheets. He had been to the doctor last week and told him that his back had been hurting. The doctor said well, you did have surgery five weeks ago. He went to the doctor today and was sent to the hospital for an MRI. I text her to see if they had heard anything from the test but no word yet. Update: he is having surgery tomorrow to see if they can find out where the infection is coming from.

So DH and I went out to El Fenix for dinner. I had a half order of chicken fajita nachos and he had a cheese enchilada, a beef taco and a guacamole tostada. Their chips and hot sauce are the best. Sometimes we buy a package of the chips, they are so good.

Sounds like a great trip, @Kirby!

We used to play the license plate game too. Our crowning jewel was a Hawaii plate - in the Northeast! (Which of course led to our other favorite car game, "Three Scenarios" - in which we tried to come up stories as to how/why someone shipped their car over and then drove across the country.)

Today should be less busy than yesterday. I'm making banana bread before it gets too hot to have the oven on, then I need to help DH with some stuff, and straighten up the house a bit because I am having family over to swim tomorrow.

I unfortunately have to run by the grocery store too (which I don't like to do on Saturdays).

Good morning.

8 AM here and already 88 degrees out. I am so thankful the hall has AC for my granddaughter's party. We spent some time trying to get the decorations together. My daughter had so many wonderful ideas. I got to the hall before they did and after a quick look around wiped down all the tables and the kitchen and mopped the floors. My priest happened to be there and of course had some comments. Where has my granddaughter in law been lately? He can't accept she has work. No thank you of any kind for all the work I did in the hall. We don't have a sexton right now to handle all these mundane chores, I get that but instead of a thank you, he acted like it was expected and we have to clean afterwards. I have had parties there before and even when we had a sexton we ALWAYS cleaned afterwards. Even his wife made some catty remarks. I try to let it go and I was thankful for her help in getting the decorations ready. My daughter was also but called me later and reminded me that they are NOT taking all the leftovers. When we had my mom's 80th Birthday Party, the priest's wife somehow decided that all the food I prepared was hers since she was having friends over and she took all the supplies too. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say.

Anyway, I had to leave early to head to Urgent Care. I have had some issues with my left knee ever since a fall last year. My orthopedic doctor retired, and I am used to issues with that knee. I've had several surgeries on it. I tripped and when my left foot planted something popped in my calf. The doctor at Urgent Care thinks I just sprained the muscle. My daughter gave me the name of an orthopedist she has worked with in the ER. She said he is the best one there in her opinion because he is so meticulous in the OR bordering on OCD. He tolerates her when his regular nursing staff isn't available. She likes another doctor almost as well but will cut corners in the OR. They had 3 packs of contaminated instruments, and he told them to use the ones that could be salvaged, and the patient can go on antibiotics after as a precaution.

Still have to make fruit salad and "Dirt". If any of you don't know Dirt, it's a dessert made with Chocolate Pudding, Cream Cheese and Cool Whip among other things. It's served in a kids bucket and the shovel is used to scoop it out. We also add some Fake flowers. My family LOVES it. I do need to get some gummy worms to put on the surface and bury a little. Can't have dirt without worms. Not the best picture but this is what it looks like
53.JPG

Hope you all have a great day and stay cool. I will try and do some more of the trip tonight.

Good Saturday AM to all.I think it's going to be another hot day here in my neck of the woods. I am hoping this afternoon to sort some stuff in the garage and be able to get a few totes emptied out. It's been so hot that I have not been out there since it feels like an oven in there.
My husbands rebuttal from my affidavit was brutal. Full of lies, but brutal none the less. I just have to pray and pray some more that the judge can see him for what he really is all through just reading papers. What an awful way for something this big to be decided. My oldest has stated that no matter what the papers say, she isn't going to stay with him. I told her she has to and she said she will run away. Ugh. I am very annoyed that she at least is not getting to say her side to anyone. She is old enough to see what is going on and has nailed everything on the head as far as her dads behavior towards her and her siblings. If this keeps going and we end up going to trial, I am going to look into getting her and the rest of them an advocate.
For those that pray please start sending up extra prayers. If praying isn't your thing, I ask you do whatever you do to please let the judge see him for what he really is. The judge reads them Monday and there will prob be a temporary ruling by Thursday. I am nauseous pretty much all the time.
Again, I hope everyone who is in the middle of a nightmare finds relief soon. I will try to check back later and reply to others.

Definitely added prayers for you and your family Frog.

Good Morning. It sounds like everyone has the hot weather this weekend. It is July so expected.

Frog I think that judges who have seen divorces are tuned in to the truth, the almost truth, and outright lies. I will pray that the judge sees through the affidavit info. Are your older kids allowed to make statements on how they feel? Your oldest daughter is not happy to stay with her father so I was just wondering if adolescents are asked how they feel. :grouphug:

Kirby It sounds like you had a nice visit with the grandkids and it is nice that Lou Lou is back with you. Hotels can be hit or miss but you found some really good ones.

I was up early and went grocery shopping. I tried another Market Basket in another city that is right next door. I did like it a bit better than the one in my town. It is bit less busy and definitely quieter. I don't like the parking lot but I am picky. Then I came back and put the groceries away and took a walk. Had breakfast on the balcony and talked with Chris. I am back to yelling a bit, not as much anger as before. Then I cleaned the bathrooms. I have one really huge bathroom suite with 2 sinks, a shower, and a soaking tub. I never use the tub but I do clean it once a month. The other bathroom is smaller but still a pretty good size. I don't use the tub/shower in there but I clean the tub once a month. Older DS is coming to pick me up so we can go visit Joe. I took a home covid test and I am negative. Younger DS and family are heading to the Cape. They are staying in Sandwich so not too far from the bridge. Older DS and I will be in the Cape traffic for a bit to go to see Joe. We get off on the South Shore before you get too far down.

Stay cool today.

Morning all. I am late, because I am trying to get all my cleaning done early. I started in our bedroom, and am about 1/2 through dusting, vacuuming , stripped and remade the bed, washed the windows, and I have a new quilt on. Of course everytime I start one thing, I find another that has to be done. I have at least 3 loads of laundry waiting their turn for the washer. I am hanging the sheets, blankets, bedspread and rugs on the lines out in the sun. It's going to be near 100 today,,hot hot hot

@frog3101 --you know how I feel about your soon to be ex--low, low, low. Judges really have seen it and heard it all. I wish that your kids could make statements, but at least make sure your attorney lets the judge know what your oldest said. You certainly don't want her running away if forced to see her Father. Hang in there, we are all pulling for you
@tazdev3225 --sorry about your knee. Hope that is nothing but a bad sprain.
@Snowysmom -- I am glad your yelling at Chris is getting so that you are less angry as time goes by. The more settled you get, the easier it's going to be.
@PollyannaMom glad you have a less busy, easier weekend planned

Well, back to my cleaning before I get too tired to finish.
Have a great weekend, stay cool

Almost started my weekend at the beach today but didn't want to spend all those points! So I leave tomorrow morning. Weekdays are less busy anyway. Canceled Tuesday night ahead of time to cut my trip to 2 nights. This is mostly because younger grand daughter gets antsy and wants 'home' quicker than older DGD. Pretty sure I can rebook and stay if things go well. Last month we were gone 4 nights and she was alone with me for the last 2 nights. Maybe it will be different with her sister here, but just in case, I don't want to have paid and then not get a refund. Weather is also showing storms so maybe best as being trapped inside won't work well.

Oldest DD flew to Alaska this morning. She will meet her Dad and his wife for a cruise on Holland America next week, but says, 'this is my chance to see Alaska and I'll probably never go back'. That girl might as well just sprout a set of wings. She can't stay home. Meanwhile younger DD doesn't want to go anywhere. Two completely different individuals. Son is more like youngest, but will go for a few days at least, but in general is not a traveler.

DD has several sites she wants to visit and texted me her stops but I haven't read through it all yet. She's going to Fairbanks, Anchorage and visiting Denali National Park for several days. Not sure where she's meeting the ship - maybe flying back to Vancouver for that. She is headed to Seattle and then on to Anchorage today, then on to Fairbanks by Monday. Alaska Airlines. She has air tags for her luggage, just in case. This girl has flown the world and is a very seasoned traveler, but still, I try to keep in touch with her and know where she is for safety. SiL went to Saettle earlier this year and probably won't go anywhere other than the beach for another year. He just likes to work and like my son is restless away from home after a night or two.

Overslept until 6:30am this morning. That's because I awoke at 11pm and stayed online reading for several hours.

I'm going to travel early tomorrow so as to enjoy the cooler 70ties. I can then have a nice breakfast, go to Assateague and check in by noonish. Won't get the room until later but can use the pool with the kids. SIL will carry them over and drive back Monday morning.

Good morning! 🐥

Didn’t have a great sleep, a little choppy. Dogs let us know they had to go out around 5am. DH got the first round, then one (the little one) had to go again shortly afterward, so I got round number two (no pun intended). It happens I guess, lol. They have been so good, I can’t really complain.

Taz, that would be grounds for disciplinary action and probably dismissal. These days there are whistleblower and attestations and all kinds of other rules about speaking up so there’s not much people can get away with even if they do try. That said, I hope you can find a good surgeon if you need one. I’ve made “dirt” at Halloween in a “ghostly/cemetery”-type cake and cups with worms, etc. (My kids’ bday is around Halloween so I was always coming up with fun things for that.) I like it myself! (Though I’ve never used cream cheese, just pudding and crushed oreos and such.)

When I was a nursing student I watched a a neurosurgery one day, up close right next to the surgical assistant and the patient, etc. The surgeon had his microscope glasses on had drilled a piece of bone out of the pt’s spine and was cleaning off the stringy covering on it by hand when it slipped out of his hands and flew right by us, and onto the floor. 😳 Surgeon also yelled an expletive 🤬 then stormed out of the OR. The resident next to me leaned over and said, “It would’ve been a hell of a catch!” :lmao: Long story short, they tried to sterilize it but ultimately they decided to, rightfully, throw it away. Unfortunately he had to go in and get another piece of bone out with the drill. I cared for the patient the next day in the hospital and he was saying how sore his back was. The surgeon was obligated to tell him what happened.

Btw I should’ve said above when my pt told me she loved me, it was as I was in the doorway leaving, and she was waving goodbye from her bed and yelled it out, toothless grin and all, so adorable. It’s not too often that that happens, but we bonded on her last admission because she didn’t have something she needed (a personal care item) and I brought her in one from home, so that was why she said that. (I didn’t mean for it to sound creepy!)

Frog, I wish I could take some of your angst away. I will definitely pray. Remember, he can’t do wrong and come out right (long term, even if he happens to “win” this battle). I’m positive that judges and attorneys get a feel for this pretty well after years of doing it. Just stay true to yourself, and let’s hope down the road your children’s voices can be heard. 🙏

Snowysmom, I hope the visit (and Saturday Cape traffic) isn’t too hard on you. It’s very nice of your family to be there for Joe this way. I hope you try out the soaking tub sometime, maybe with some soft music, candles and a glass of wine? 🕯🍷

Mona, I also think the relationship you have with your Dad is sweet. I’m sure he’ll enjoy his bowls!

Hugs to all Quackers!

I have to get ready, going to get haircut soon. We’re going to take DD’s boyfriend to a restaurant we like afterward, I’ve been telling him about it for a while, then we’ll probably grab some groceries (I know, shouldn’t really do that on a Saturday afternoon but DH and I are pretty good at tag-teaming a store and can get in and out pretty quickly) and then come home and hang out in the pool. Have a nice Saturday, all!

Good Morning and Happy Saturday 🌸

Dad and I had a surprise early evening yesterday when Terri called to say she was only a few minutes away. She had gone to visit her elderly friend in an Assisted Living facility less than 10 minutes away from me. We got to see her and have a nice chat. I also was so thankful to be able to give her the boxes of cereal dad had bought at Pavilion's on Thursday for the Food Pantry. Terri will drop them off at church when she is there any way for worship tomorrow and Monday is a Food Pantry day! Praise God how He sure worked that out so perfectly. Truly grateful to have been able to serve extra in this tiny way,

Please stay safe and take care, dear Quackers. Covid is sure on the rise here, too as I have said. So sad all-around.

Kirby before the pandemic, dad and I would often go to Great Clips for the cheaper prices. The only catch was that the closest location to us is almost an hour away. So unless we were going to be in that (or another Great Clips) location anyway, Supercuts made much more sense and cents. Aw, thank you for your sweet words. I give God extra thanks every day for this time extra He has blessed dad and I with, safe, together, and in health, right mind and ability to serve.
What a wonderful trip that sounds like. I am so thankful you and your family were able to take it, Kirby. All of you needed a getaway together doing something FUN! God Bless Lou Lou!

Prayers your meeting is going safely and well, Carol!

“Three Scenarios,” sounds like a fun car game, PollyannaMom. I hope you have happy memories of fun family trips you took growing up :)

Just prayer and an extra hug, Taz! Congratulations again to your granddaughter. How unkind sounding about the priest :( Please take care and keep cool!

Huge hug, dear Frog, and always prayers. Love (God, Who is LOVE) always will turn joy out of anything. Truth never fails. His Wil, will be done. He is with you and your kiddos and by His grace so are we!

I had to Google the town of Sandwich, Snowysmom! That name got my attention as one I had sure never heard of. How fun today “I’ve been to Sandwich,” lol. Prayers they have a fun time. Thank God, you are Covid negative. Much continued loving prayers and a hug.

Hug Lynn, just reading about your early cleaning spree makes me tired. Truly admire your energy and drive! Please do something nice for yourself this afternoon!

Prayers you enjoy a lovely and safe trip, Judique. I would love to see the ponies on Assateague. Sounds like such a peaceful blessing to get to experience.

Just saw your post, Pea. Crushed Oreos in pudding sounds good to me. I remember enjoying a parfait once at Denny's of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and crushed Oreos. Too much for me now. It was sure tasty then! Wishing you a peaceful day. Thank you also for your kind dad words.

Enjoy the day and keep cool, everyone!
