That's exactly what I had in mind, Carol! Getting some of the flowers along with leftover goodies from fellowship to shut in's, elderly, or simply someone whatever volunteer bringing the food and flowers, chose who they felt could use a pick me up! God always and in all ways directs our steps! He would make clear who to deliver to I'm so glad to hear for a time that did happen at your church. I'd absolutely volunteer to do that now if I lived out there.

Hug, Lynn. Without posting, my exact age (not something I care to do) I'll just say I'm a little younger than B&B. I LOVE that our family, as with any family, has members of different ages. More reason I give thanks God connected us all to begin with

Not feeling so old anymore today.

Was summoned by son in law at noon to get the girls this evening. He tried to manage them himself, but it's too much with his job and his weekend side work. At least he kept them Wed and Thurs, as I was in the picture for the whole week. He'll come get them on Sunday.

I am definitely in the 65+ group but just by a little bit. I have met some people at the condo where I live and so far they all seem older than me except the one lady who lives with her mom. At least I can feel younger somewhere. LOL!

I had a nice lunch with my friend. Actually we had breakfast for lunch: pot roast hash, scrambled eggs, and toast. Yummy! We chatted for a long time. We are comfortable talking about anything and we always talk about our DH's. We picture them with us and listening to our chatting and thinking we are a bit crazy. We also talk to them to let them know we are thinking of them. She really does like my condo. I did tell her I am having buyer's remorse but she said that was very common especially with that I have been going through. I told her I will give it a year and see how I feel. I think I just don't want to live anywhere without Chris. I put my patio chairs out. I am glad I got them when I did. It seems like the stores are not keeping up with supply. Now I just need my table from Amazon.

Tomorrow older DS is coming to the condo to help me set up for work and do a few other things. I am packing up stuff at his house to bring to the condo. It is a bit sad to be leaving his house but I know they need their family space and I need to move on to my own space even though it is daunting. I am thankful he was kind enough to let me stay as long as I want. I am finishing up with financial stuff and having him added to my bank accounts too. I want it easy for the kids when I pass. Next and I think last up will be the condo deed trust. I just want to be done. No more changes and no more decisions for a while. Whoever thought I should be in charge of decisions was very much mistaken.

I am also 51.

Dinner tonight: I'm roasting cauliflower and broccoli, and doing something with those, and maybe some chickpeas and couscous. I might make a cucumber tomato salad with feta too; or maybe some hummus, to go with some pitas I have. I am still figuring it out, lol.

I found 2 ripe cherry tomatos yesterday and cut them in half and added to my sandwich! Not much but felt great. I also was able to pick a small bowl of blueberries which are ripe early this year.

Still haven't planted my cucumber seeds. Not too late so long as they get lots of water as they don't take that long to grow. Taste so good fresh!

My DSis ( we share a vegetable garden) bought a hanging cherry tomato basket and it has been producing cherry reds for about a week. It’s on a small common path and we are happy that some neighbors have enjoyed them as well as we have!

Enjoy those blueberries before the birds do!

We have planted three small hills of cucumber. I like “market more” and a pickling cucumber.

I am #5 of 5. Three sisters (15/13/11 years older than me), then my brother (10 years older), then me.
Only my oldest sister, my brother, and me are left.

DH is #1 of 3. He shares a mom with his siblings, but not a dad. As far as we know, his siblings are still around. His sis is about a year younger than me, and his brother is 10 years younger than him (I think...it could be 7 or 8 or ?)

I'm back...DH and I had a great time on our spontaneous cruise. LoL So thankful we can afford to do this sort of thing. We really liked our stop in Catalina Island, we liked it so much in fact, we're planning on going back there for a couple days soon so we can explore some more. It was such a pretty day too.


Got home pretty early this afternoon and I tried to catch it, got sidetracked a couple times(really needed a nap in my own comfy bed...lol) but just finished and wanted to post before I went to bed.

@lynxstch I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Keeping you all in my thoughts, especially your SIL and niece.

Can't remember how the age thing got started but I think I might be the youngest...I'm 46, I'll be 47 next month... or at least I think that's right. LoL The older I get, the harder it is to remember my age.

Good morning everyone. I think we changed seasons overnite. It's 64, going to mid 70's and feels like a Fall morning, instead of an almost Summer one. First official day of Summer is Tuesday, and the heatwave will be back, into mid 90's. It's sunny and breezy out right now. Turned the ac off before bed last nite, and with the windows open, it's actually cool feeling in here~~

Off to do usual Saturday morning chores. Already watered the garden, flowers, and plants. Time to strip and remake the bed, wash out the bird feeders and birdbaths and refill them.

It's 82 @ 10am; we are supposed to hit 99 today. 53% humidity, expecting it to hit 99%; waiting for thunderstorms any minute, as we have the storm clouds.

@AuntieMe3 Welcome back from your trip! Glad you enjoyed your getaway.

DH and I ran to First Watch for breakfast, then to Target to get a few things. Was going to buy some Starbucks stuff, but the guy reminded me that the summer line drops Tuesday, so I'll wait to check those out. DH had their summer special of Hacienda Hash, and I had their potatoes and the summer Blueberry Muffin Top Griddle Cakes. Sooo good! I actually liked it a bit more than my lemon ricotta pancakes.


Speaking of First Watch, DH brought me home their cookbook last week! He went to lunch with some coworkers (and got the summer special barbacoa quesadilla benedict, which he says is better than the hash; and the watermelon wake up drink was good too), and I guess he felt bad I didn't get to eat there; it's either that or he wants me to learn how to cook their food, lol!

We're going to have leftovers for late lunch/early dinner (hamburger patties, roasted broccoli/cauliflower/baby potatoes, hummus, tandoori bread); on the weekends, when we go out for breakfast, we usually do just two meals.

DH is putting up the curtain rods in DS's bedroom and bathroom, and the shower rod/curtain too. Didn't see the sense in doing it before now, since no one was using them. I'm doing a couple loads of laundry today, and will do the other two tomorrow, so I'm not running the dryer in the mid-afternoon heat. That's the plans for the day; we're going to take it easy.

Tomorrow, I'm going to go make a cucumber-tomato-onion salad for me, and a three bean salad for DH for lunch on Monday; dinner is going to be stir-fry type dish with ground pork and red cabbage.
