God Bless you, dear Taz and all of your precious grandkids, too! I have never heard of a picture safari. Have fun and I look forward to seeing a picture or two that you take

Grady is doing really well, thanks for asking! I was looking through his pictures since we first got him last weekend. He was so scared his ears were literally pinned back to the side of his head the whole ride home from the rescue. Day by day, they’ve come up, and he’s more relaxed. We’re not 100% yet, of course, but I think with time, he’ll come out of his shell. I wish we knew more about his background which would help me focus his training. I haven’t worked with him yet, I figure he needs a week or so just to settle in, then we can start with that. He doesn’t seem to know basic commands. I’m sensing he wants to please, so it should go pretty well. We think he’s likely younger than they said he was. He has really taken to DS, but enjoys all of us, too. He was a little anxious last night and had difficulty settling, so I grabbed a coffee at Dunkin’ early this morning and took them out for some nice exercise. Sun was just coming up so I was able to also stop for some photo opportunities, as well, which was fun. Both have been passed out since we’ve been back, lol.Speaking of fosters to forever homes - how is Grady doing?
is Voltaren a prescription? I do not like to take pain meds of any kind but I have been in so much pain with my knee that I need to do something. Rolling over in bed causes so much pain that it will jolt me out of a dead sleep.
I'm sorry this happened to you. It sort of almost happened to me when I was buying my mower. I paid online and bought through Home Depot, but the arrival and delivery was set up through the John Deere in Annapolis.Its still cloudy and 68 out, but feels nice. All errands and grocery shopping done, gassed up the car (4.46 a gallon), we only needed 5 gallons to fill it, we don't drive much, lol
Wanna guess how ticked off I am right now? Mr L doesn't want to hear me complain, so anyone who wants to read this will hear my venting! TIA!
I called Outdoor Power,,asking when the riding mowers are coming in since I was told on 5/13 that they would be in within a week..that I literally went in the next day and looked at it and talked to 'Jamie" who had called me. That when I got home, I called her and she said I will write up the order,,you just have to come in and pay for it as soon as it comes in. This guy (who is one of the managers) says we haven't gotten any in since about 3 weeks ago. That they don't even make it off the truck before they are claimed. I said well I was told I was #3 on the list, and I was never called. When I went in to look at it that Saturday, she told me I was first on the list. He said I am confused, we don't go by lists..and I repeat we haven't gotten any in in about 3 weeks. I said well I am not crazy, I know who I talked to and when (of course she is off on Wed.), and I literally saw her, can describe her, and I know what she told me. That's why I called, since it's been almost 2 weeks. He said maybe there was miscommunication..we got some mowers in..but bigger than the one you want. I said well she literally said to me when I was sitting on it..that is the one you are interested in and it will be in within a week. He checked and there is an open order under my name..but he can't even tell me where I am in the order list. I said well you just told me you have about 30 of them on order for people interested..so you do have some kind of list (because I swear that is the same voice I talked to every week for the last 2 months) and you told me I was #3. Now you tell me you got some in, but that I wasn't even called for those. And why would she be calling people and leaving messages saying 'if you are interested, please call us back',,and it was literally 5 minutes after that I called her back and spoke to her. Put in my order for the mower, the mulch kit, and delivery..Grrr...So now it may be Sept by the time I actually get one. He knew I wasn't happy, and I told him to have her call me tomorrow morning,,I want some clarification on this whole thing
Off to plant 2 kinds of cucumber seeds, and 7 kinds of summer and zucchini squash. --maybe that will calm me down. I may be Sept by the time I get a riding mower
@Pea-n-Me-- Grady is beautiful
@easyas123 --Good luck with the foster dog
Have a nice afternoon everyone
I'd be interested in knowing the name if that cemetery if you are comfortable sharing it, we love touring old cemeteries and the wonderful history & statuary that can be found there.. Plus there are some really neat cemeteries in my area. Now I have an idea for the next weekend. We have a famous cemetery with a lot of interesting people buried in it and headstones
I had a wonderful relationship with my paternal grandmother, we were like co conspirators in life and even got up to a spot of trouble a time or two. I spent a lot of time with her, sometimes I'd just fly down to Florida for a weekend to hang out even after I was married with 2 small kids...she was on vacation w/ us when she passed. Still think of her often and fondly. She was a great old broad. We had some adventures for sure! If I ever had grandkids I would very much want to emulate that relationship, and it's just really nice to read about your granddaughter & you sharing time together because you enjoy each others company so much. Really brings back warm memories for me.I love that my soon to be 18 year old grandchild loves to actively spend time with me. That in and of itself is truly a blessing. My goal when I had grandkids was to try and be like my Gram was for me
Thank you for that lovely verse.
Watch out, you struck a nerve. I was just talking to DH about this. He wasn't helping me, we were working together. It's like when a dad says he is home babysitting his own child. I know you didn't mean anything by it but it just gets me going.Carol, hug, I'm glad your DH is helping you!
Part of the reason we went to WV was to visit a cemetery.I know the graveyards sounds a bit odd but I have been doing ancestry work and am trying to get pics of family headstones. Plus there are some really neat cemeteries in my area.
What a great tradition to start.I think this year I will include my granddaughter
Thanks! She's hydro - I'm doubting we will get her but if so I'll be eager to learn about it more. No seizures, no circles.Let me know if there’s anything I can help you with with the medical foster. I like that sort of thing.
I'll be honest....that burned my butt more than once over the years. Especially the "is Daddy babysitting?' comments. No. He IS the parent (too). I hated that comment, although like you said - it's not intentional. Dads/husbands always seem to get that when it comes to housework & kids. I guess we all get pigeon holed now and then.Watch out, you struck a nerve. I was just talking to DH about this. He wasn't helping me, we were working together.
