I can’t believe how long it’s taken me to get through some of these posts, lol. Like, two days. You forget how distracting it is to have a new dog in the house! Grady is doing great. We had another sunrise outing today. And as we speak, I hear him up to something - he likes shoes! I don’t think this dog is as old as they said he was, he’s got some young tendencies, and actually looks and acts pretty young. Thank you for the complements on his picture! He is a beauty! Sometimes I think I’m looking at my last old beloved girl, it’s a little surreal. He is also very lovey.
Hope everyone’s doing ok. Sometimes I can get the quote function to work, and sometimes I can’t. Auntie

I really think that a lot of people are feeling down about the state of our world right now. I know I am. Hope things are going well for Snowysmom, frog, and everyone else. Lynn so glad you got the mower. Was worried when you said the end of summer. Mona I’ve heard the key fobs can be really expensive, but there are some companies (so I’m told) that can make new ones for less if you look around. I have to get my car in for a recall. And get an inspection sticker this month. I wanted to detail it, too, after the winter, but have two vet visits coming up and had to get supplies for the dog and all that, so we’ll see unless I can find a discount on Groupon. I always wonder if they do as good a job when it’s so discounted. Of course now I have tufts of dog hair all over the place again, but I knew that was going to happen, and I accept it.
I started doing safaris when I first joined the DIS. They had picture scavenger hunts and I loved them because they got me out and thinking outside of the box.
I was the OP of those Scavenger Hunts on the Photography Board! They were so much fun! I’m glad to hear they meant a lot to people, as they did to me. I spent a lot of time putting them together and keeping them going for several summers, until Princess in Oz took over. I used to do the hunts with my own kids, too, and taught them photgraphy at the time. You’re right, it’s a nice thing to do together. We sometimes wound up in cemeteries, too. A good place to get angels! The most memorable time was when I captured a little lady ghost on DS’s foot at one of the oldest cemeteries in the country, in Pilgrim country!
I was happy yesterday. Last time I saw my elderly friend her mobility had really gone downhill. (I think I mentioned that here.) So I researched a type of chair that’s meant to use inside the house to help with mobility, and I found one. I took the literature over with some meals the other day and left the information inside the bag. I thought she’d find some reason to not like it, as, like many older folks, she can sometimes be a little resistant, but she actually loved it and is going to order one! Yay! It will help her get around better so she can cook and clean and toilet and do all those normal things again which she’s had trouble doing now for a while. So that sort of made my week, besides the dog!
Heading into a work stretch. We’ve been lucky since Grady’s been here someone has always been home. I think we should be able to keep that going, too. We did buy a crate for the times he might have to be alone, but that would be rare. He can be a little nervous, still, with some pacing, but he’s learning to settle. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for a dog to be with a new family. We’re easy going, though, so he is welcome to go where he wants. He loves being in the house.
@easyas123 you mean hyrdrocephalus? Is it a puppy? Poor thing. But sounds good that he isn’t showing severe neuro signs. Let us know what happens!
Have a good rest of the day, everyone!
