Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Kirby, thanks from me, too, for sharing earlier those beautiful pictures! I am really looking forward to one day visiting the Descanso Gardens out here.

Canadisney Fly, what a lovely share. So glad you have joined us. May you and your DD have a lovely Mother's Day to come. I am the opposite! I'd rather eat cookies than chips :)

Enjoy your lunch, Footballmouse! I would happily Carly sit for you if i lived closer. Would enjoy some :dog:time. well maybe not so much the cleaning up part! :)

I hope your DH feels better, AuntieMe3! Very glad he is mostly okay.

B&B, hot and muggy is just the worst, yuck! It sounds like you did have a nice morning. I hope your breakfast was tasty and that you ended up getting some needed shopping done, too. Real good to have you back, my friend.

Extra :grouphug:Pea.

Hi to all Quackers. I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. Also wanted to let everyone know I’ve been thinking of all of you who have been going through a difficult journey…unfortunately it seems to be “going around”, as I stated in an earlier post. I don’t want to go into detail, but for those of you who pray or send good vibes, please pray for my marriage. Pray for a softened heart of my husband. Thank you.

@frog3101 :hug: prayers lifted up.

We went to the early service today because the GK's weren't with us. We usually go to the later service because they have Cool Kids for them to go to during the sermon. It felt so strange without them.

After Sunday School we went to breakfast at Lone Star 66 Cafe here in town. They were pretty busy but the wait was not long. I got the Texas omelette which was mighty tasty. And their coffee is nice and strong, just like I like it.

After breakfast, DD and I went to Target for birthday gifts for the GK's. I bought them each a game. Their main gifts are decals for their bedroom walls. Lou Lou is getting her name and a Unicorn and a Minnie Mouse. Lil Joe is getting his name also plus Spiderman and Sonic. DD and I put up Minnie Mouse and Spiderman this afternoon. We're going to wait to do the rest during the GK's next weekend visit with their dad.

It was so good to see the GK's walk through the door this evening. I've really missed them!

Dinner tonight was hamburgers and tator tots. I meant to put out Pork N Beans but forgot.

About 9:30 pm we received a call from DS. He had been hit head on by another car. Fortunately he seems to be okay beyond some aches and pains from the air bag but he is currently at the hospital being checked over. He never saw the car that hit him. From the pictures he sent us, the car was a dark maroon. The police said that they were an elderly couple that were driving without their lights on and probably on the wrong side of the road. They hit him in the middle of a service road intersection. The elderly woman, I don't know if she was the driver or not, was taken away by an ambulance. James has only had his car, one of those new Ford Broncos, for a year. It looks totaled and the car that hit him looks even worse. I'm so glad that the accident did not happen on the highway. Most of the wrong way driver accidents end up in death.

@frog3101 Sending prayers to you,

@Kirby So sorry about the accident and the car. Thankfully your DS is OK.

It is 43 now with rain coming in later and temps in the 50s. I had a tough night last night. I am getting stressed about the move and how I am going to do everything. My hip is bothering me from everything I have been doing for the past 7 months with lifting and packing. I need my sons to help with rugs etc but I know it is hard for them with time. DDIL is due at the end of May but may go earlier. Older DS is busy with work. I am glad to have the few days in NH to relax a bit before this all starts. I am just so anxious about it all and wondering how I can get it all done. And add in that I need the verizon technician to update the equipment in the condo so he needs to come to the condo. My son said he could do it but verizon says the equipment is scheduled for updating so they need to come out. '

Time for coffee to try to wake up for work.

Have a nice day.

Good morning! :cutie:

AuntieMe3 - hope you DH feels better.

Kirby - glad you Ds is okay. That sounds like a terrible wreck. I had a scare a few years ago at night with someone driving in the wrong lane. He was going very fast, had a big pickup truck and would have hit me head on if I didn't swerve into the other lane. I probably would have been killed since we were both going fast.

Not much exciting going on today. Working from home so I have a product testing (hand sanitizer) scheduled for later today during my lunch. An easy $12.

Did anyone see the video of the tornado in Kansas over the weekend. A drone captured the video. It was crazy to see it actually lifting buildings up. I'm guessing it's moving east since we're supposed to have severe storms tomorrow. Nice day today though.

Have a great day!

Good morning all

Sunny and 72 today

@frog3101 --sending prayers your way for your marriage

@Snowysmom -sending you hugs and prayers as always. Try and not worry so much about the move. You found the 'right' new home, and even though it's stressful, that is half the battle. I hope the getaway in NH helps you to relax and unwind.

@Kirby -glad your son is okay, even if his car isn't. Saying prayers for both him and the couple that hit him,,how awful

I have my 3 month checkup at the heart clinic today. Kind of feel like it is a waste of time, since I see the cardiologist next Monday for that 3 month follow up. I can't believe that it's been 7 months since my health scare. And I thank God and the Drs every day that I am feeling back to my normal old self

I really enjoyed Disney night last nite, but once again, I feel America got it wrong with 2 of the 3 they sent home. My favorites are still there (don't want to say who in case some of you haven't watched yet).

Off to get a shower and get Mr L up and moving..he's being a lazybones again this morning

Have a great day everyone

Posting from the ER. 😷

DS got sicker again. Campus security brought him in, and I drove up and just arrived. He is trying to sleep right now, and they are letting me sit with him.

Good vibes, prayers, whatever your thing is, are appreciated.

Sorry to hear this. Prayers, vibes, hugs anything that will help on the way.

Good morning friends,

MUCH prayer and love to you, PollyannaMom for your son and you, too, Mom! Extra loving prayers also to Frog, Kirby, and Dazed.

:grouphug:Snowysmom. We're here. Always.

Lynn, big hug, and making sure YOU are well is NEVER a waste of time. Don't even think that for a second, silly. You are so loved and appreciated! Thank God absolutely that both you and Mr. L are well!

We are waiting for Ikea to deliver the new furniture later today :)

🐥❤️

Sending your son prayers and pixie dust that he feels better soon @PollyannaMom

It is a beautiful 75 degree, sunshiny, breezy day. My appt at the heart clinic went well..so well that they graduated me and I no longer have to see them every 90 days. I can still call if I need them, and she will still fill of my meds that her name is on

Went to Walmart after that..got all the cypress mulch I needed, a new pair of bang around sneakers for mowing, 1/2 gallon milk, and some cottage cheese. Dinner is going to be seafood salad, over a green salad, with cottage cheese and fruit

Off to get the laundry out of washer and into the dryer

@flyingdumbo127 --I hope your furniture arrives on time and in good conditions!

Have a great afternoon all

@PollyannaMom I hope your son feels better soon. Sending thoughts and prayers to you. I m glad you are with him.

@lynxstch Glad your appt went well and you are back to feeling like yourself.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope your Ikea order arrives on time and it is what you like.

I try not to get ahead of myself but I have so much to do this month that I tend to think about it all at the same time. I need to try a day by day approach which I am not so good at. I set up Verizon fios yesterday with install on May 19. I am now on hold to cancel Comcast at the old house as of the day I close. We have used it sporadically over the months but now it can go. I signed up with the new electric provider at the condo. Later I have to transfer gas service from the house to the condo. Then I have to cancel the electric service on the house as it is not the same company as the condo. I forgot how much work and tedious tasks it takes to move. Once I am in the condo I am taking my time unpacking and figuring things out. I will need to rest at that point or I will probably just collapse. I don't want to ask my sons for alot of help but some things I just can't do. I am not sure they understand the enormity of what the past 7 months have been for me. Thankfully they have their families and work to distract them and give them happiness and meaning in life. I am hoping the North Conway trip gives me some peace and relaxation. I know Chris will be with me especially in the 5 and 10 store. That was his favorite as it brought back memories of stores from the late 50s and 60s. He will probably be telling me what to buy the grandkids!

Oh gosh, I hope all the ‘patients’ are doing ok! Sending prayers to all! 🙏🏻

Snowysmom my mind works the way yours does, I would feel the same way! Tough to be a worrier! Praying for a smooth process for you, and a nice getaway.

I finally have some good news to share, the dog is ours! Adoption has been completed, he’ll be up later in the month, which will give us a little prep time. Picked out a new leash and collar, will send in that order tonight. I really appreciate all the good thoughts and prayers you have all sent my way! ☺️ paw:

Don’t mean to rush off but am at an appt and wanted to share my good news! 🐥

Hi all, as I read thru the posts from the past few days it does seem as if some of you are struggling, and I hope the coming days & weeks brings you peace and a happy/healthy resolution to that which can be resolved. I'm not given to prayer, but I am given to good thoughts, so you all have mine for what they are worth.

It is a beautiful 75 degree, sunshiny, breezy day

I've been in the office all day, and I think today might be the best of the week. You've inspired me to go outside in a few minutes and get a few breaths of fresh air! Thankfully I've got nothing on tap this evening after I get home - house is clean, laundry is done....great afternoon/evening to be outside w/ the mutts. I'm a bit tweaked over the upcoming weekends weather - or currently what is forecasted for the weather - I've got some outdoor plans, some things I do this time each year, and it's such a bummer that it's going to be damp or raining and in the 50's. :( Oh well, what can I do? I'll just work around the weather I suppose.

Not sure what we are having for dinner this evening. We had grilled chicken last night, and the same for lunch today so might be ready for something different!!

Excellent! Congrats!

Ikea delivered! We have 4 boxes (2 containing pieces of dad's new tall bookcase and the other 2 are our identical nightstands/extra storage cart) just waiting to be opened and assembled on Wednesday morning. Thank you everyone for your good wishes! I will take some pictures once everything is built :)

More wonderful news, dear Lynn! Praise, praise God! I am so happy for you, my friend.

Big prayers, Snowysmom that your getaway is fun and brings you added peace and good memory, too. I am so thankful you are going.

:cheer2::dogdance:Pea and hooray! I am so happy for you, my friend. What kind of dog is it again? :)

Waving hi to you, Easyas. I hope it warms up out there for you. please do take care and stay warm.

Congrats Pea!

Dumbo, I hope your shelves are easy to put together. LOL

Pollyanna, I hope your son is doing better.

Lynxstch, Dh still goes to the nephrologist every 3 months, for labs and med adjustments; even though he's 7 years post-transplant, and we thought he'd be down to just annuals at the hospital by now. Nope, his neph still wants him in every 3 months, even in the month that he goes to the hospital for the annual, which includes all sorts of tests. Seems silly to double up, but that's what they do, I guess.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having a very tired day, 😪 as Dh woke me up about 2:45am, because I was snoring bad. I took some melatonin last night (10mg, instead of the 5mg I usually take when I can't sleep), and on top of the Zyrtec, it put me down. But once he woke me up, I was awake. So, I got up about 3:30, and sat in the living room and read on my Kindle until about 5:30; fell back asleep...and then DH woke me up at 6:20, to make sure I was ok. He doesn't even remember waking me up in the middle of the night! :sad2: So, of course, I was up for the day...:coffee:

I've tried to nap twice. The first time, I was just about asleep on the couch, when someone rang the bell and then knocked...and knocked...and knocked...and rang the bell again, all in the space of about 15 seconds. Answered the door to find some people from a local church, looking to talk about the usual stuff church people talk about when they 'cold-call' someone's home. I wasn't as pleasant as I could have been, as I was so tired, so I just told them literally to 'get off my lawn' (two were standing on the lawn, one on the little patio) and shut the door. I have a no soliciting sign up, and there is a sign on the lawn to stay off of it for 48 hours (landlord sent the grass/weed man, to try to make the yard niver) this morning, and I have little patience with people who think they can ignore other's requests to be left alone. >:( I gave up on trying to sleep for awhile, so I got the bathrooms cleaned and the whole house swept and mopped; put the trash cans up from trash day; worked on laundry (had 4 loads...how 2 people get 4 almost full loads in a week, I don't understand; last load is in the dryer, but I'm putting it all away tomorrow); ate lunch and cleaned the kitchen (had a cookie sheet from last night; I made some Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies last night after dinner, after I had already cleaned, and didn't wash the pan, + coffee stuff from this am + my lunch mess). I laid down on the couch again; was fully asleep, for maybe 10 minutes, and then the mail lady was banging on the door, to deliver DH's meds. Once again, awake...Ugh...I'm just hoping to keep my eyes open until after dinner/dishes...

Well, at least tomorrow is just stripping the bed and washing the bedding, putting away all the clothes from today, and vacuuming my little rugs (plus the usual dish fun).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tonight, we are going simple, with hamburgers, fries and some frozen veggies; and the rest of the cookies from last night. I'll only have the fries pan and the skillet to clean up, along with the stove, as the plates will go into the dishwasher, and then I can run it in the morning.

Tomorrow, I have a Dinnerly box coming (didn't get the cancellation in on time, so we are having one more box..I did think ahead, though, and substitued meals in it that we would want, and this last box is nothing but 4 falafel meals, lol)...so we're having a platter with homemade hummus, falafel, tomato cucumber salad, pitas, and tzatiki (most of which is in the box). All I have to do for tomorrow is fry the falafel, make the hummus and salad, and warm the pitas (tzatiki is already in the fridge)!
