Happy Friday everyone! :sunny:

Missed one day and I had quite a bit of catching up to do.

Snowysmom - good luck with the condo tomorrow. Bidding wars suck, hopefully if it does result in a bidding war, it won't get too out of control.

Lynxstch - what a mess with your paper delivery! He sounds like a complete moron and moved that pole just to be spiteful. I still say he's drunk most of the mornings.

Breezycarol - I hope everything goes well with your DDIL's induction and you have a new grandbaby today!

I was busy yesterday. Wednesday night I decided to take a vacation day for yesterday and I went to the zoo with some friends. :dumbo: Now that my kids are older, they don't want to go to the zoo like they did when they were little. I've always enjoyed the zoo but I'd feel a little out of place and going by myself so I haven't been in years. It was nice to see all the additions they've made. I was on a mission to find Rico the porcupine but I couldn't find him. He's kind of a celebrity to the Cinti Zoo followers, he's just so cute and the zoo always post on Facebook videos of him eating. He's just like a little human when he eats.

Last night I headed out with another group of friends and we went to a Mexican restaurant for St. Patrick's Day/friend's b-day celebration. This restaurant is known for their strong margaritas and let me tell you, I had a smallish one and I definitely was feeling it. :drinking1

After yesterday, I realized that the friends that I hang out with are my co-workers. Glad I enjoy the people that I work with.

It's supposed to be nice today until later in the afternoon, then the rain starts. Should rain tomorrow also but I'm working this weekend so it won't bother me. :umbrella:
That's about it, I should probably get back to work. Have a great day and enjoy the nice weather. :daisy:

Good morning.

DDIL checked into Johns Hopkins Hospital at 7:30. And now we wait.

Ditch Witch was here already and buried the new cable for Comcast so that is done.

Because the market is so hot now agents have all bids come in to be reviewed at one time.
Thank you for the explanation.

I have to not get set on this condo because it is going to be a bidding war.
This is why DD is reluctant to look at houses now. She gets anxious with things like this.

if this condo is the one that is meant to be yours, then it will be
I agree.

Going to go work in the basement on shelves of kitchen stuff I rarely use and see what I can donate. Need to keep busy.

Happy Friday everyone,

Cozier early morning here. Still waking up lol. Dad is off doing laundry and then going to Ralph's. Grateful he will stay home tomorrow. I wish he'd stay completely home more often. Hopefully he will do so next week. Expecting TBAA season 1 for Ruth to come today from Target which will give us plenty of time to put her birthday package together. I miss better/newer choices of Hallmark movies! Maybe Spring will bring at least a couple new ones our way :)

I read Jesus' promise from the Gospel of John a few days ago and meant to share it as a reminder to all of dear you. This is from John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." :grouphug:🌼

I'll check in later. Have a happy day, friends.

I'm here, just back from a relaxing time at Hilton Head. Wait, did I say relaxing?

I had my 5 year old grand with me and it was go go go.

Tried to skim from time to time here and there but mostly started reading and ended up letting the laptop read itself.

Best wishes , Carol, on the induction for DDil. I was curious which hospital and now see it's Johns Hopkins. My DD had to have several procedures there to get pregnant. She had a heart shaped uterus and many miscarriages until they did the surgery successfully.

Later she gave birth to both daughters at Anne Arundel Medical Center. What an ordeal her pregnancies were! First one ended as a c section. 2nd one was planned and taken a bit early as a c section. Compared to daughter, my deliveries were like a cat having kittens.

Stayed overnight on the way down at Fairfield Inn, Santee, SC. Excellent. Newer hotel, well run, fairly decent breakfast although my bar is not too high for this.

Stayed overnight on the way back at Fairfield Inn, Stony Creek, Va. Fair. Newer hotel, almost identical to the first one but a bit inept. Breakfast was the most basic I've seen. Room was hot on entry and eventually figured out the system didn't work so had to change rooms. Second room was 54 degrees on entry but warmed up quickly and was better. Probably won't return. But it fit the bill as I am just not up to the one shot driving anymore and I've got a ton of points and nights to use up with Marriott.

I do like the design of these newer rooms. But stuff has to work and be comfortable also and a breakfast should be a little better than utilitarian.

The best one was Fairfield Inn, Dunn, NC in January. With honorable mention to HI Express in Roanoke Rapids.

Hey everybody -

What's up? What a absolutely gorgeous day out there. I can't wait to get home and be able to sit outside, I've got my office window open now, but it's not the same. Big excitement for me this weekend - my new chain saw and hedge trimmer are here and I can't wait to use them...I've got all kinds of big plans  I've got some bulbs& fern plants to get in the ground as well. I think Sunday I'm going to go to Lowes &/or Home Goods to try to find two new large planters. We have large bushes on either side of the front porch steps BUT no matter what we plant there, it eventually dies. I'm done w/ that so instead of buys more trees or bushes I'm just going to try to put two planters on either side and fill them with flowers for the season.
I still want to carve out some time to clear out my closet but I'm not sure that is happening this weekend anymore. I will thin out my shoes, since a friend of my just told me her kids school is collecting 3000 pairs of old shoes in order to get a $1000 grant for something or another.

Wednesday night I decided to take a vacation day for yesterday and I went to the zoo with some friends
Good for you! I've not been to a zoo in years. Probably 20 years or so. I'd like to get up to the Philly Zoo sometime.
known for their strong margaritas
I'm the only one in my family that doesn't like margaritas. I've tried, I swear, but they just aren't for me. I've lost track of how many times people say "oh, you just need the right margaritas" or "oh, you've got to use so and so tequila". I want to like them, I just can't wrap my taste buds around tequila.
Need to keep busy.
Good luck! Hope your day has gone by faster than a slow crawl. Hope your DIL & you son are holding up okay. Still got my fingers & toes crossed for a safe delivery for mom & Marty.
Later she gave birth to both daughters at Anne Arundel Medical Center
My SIL, who is a nurse, decided to go there when she had her baby. They lived in Easton at the time, and she worked for the hospital there but she was adamant about going to AAMC "in case anything happened". She must be psychic (did I spell that right?) because something did happen during labor and they had to do a emergency C-section.

I have some ground turkey I need to get cooked so I think that this evening will just be simple turkey sloppy joes and maybe some of the Nathan's fries left over in the freezer. No idea what Saturday has in store for us, but Sunday is looking like veal parm & pasta.

This last 90 minutes at work is going to drag by.

Outside (again) with kitty #2. (Sat outside with kitty #1 for almost an hour this morning while I talked on the phone to my niece.) This was was waiting for me to get home for her turn. :cat:

Errands were successful. Our taxes are signed and filed, and we stopped at the grocery store on the way home.

It is crazy warm for March and really feels like spring is here!

 and welcome home, Judique. I'm truly glad you got to enjoy a getaway with one of your grandchildren. I'm sure all of you will cherish the memories. Lol, I often did wish to have the energy of a young child.G Get some R&R in this weekend!

Hooray for :sunny: Easyas. Wow that is a lot of shoes. Will they be donated?

Hug to both of you ladies for the extra love I know you gave to family members with pregnancy issues and harder deliveries. Carol, thinking of your DIL!

Your kitty tails always do make me smile, PollyannaMom. I'm glad your tax appointment is done. Hope that went smoothly. Enjoy the sunshine :)

Lovely afternoon here. Not at all cold, such a blessing indeed. Going to work on a little bit of mail shortly.

Baby Marty arrived at noon by c section. Taken to NICU, as expected, for monitoring. Mom and baby both doing well. 5 lbs 11 oz. Hopefully will visit tomorrow.

Got the shelves in the basement started and they are a mess now. Went out for an errand and ended up with linch out. Now going for Happy Hour to celebrate Marty.

Sunday I'm going to go to Lowes &/or Home Goods to try to find two new large planters.
We went to Lowes and I bought 3 large planters. Going to try them instead of a garden.

@Judique, thanks for the hotel info.

Too restless to hang out here.

Congrats Carol on being a new grandmother again. Marty is a great name!

Its 75 degrees outside,,every window in the house is open. Wonder of wonders,,we actually got a paper this morning, only 2 hours late,,and actually in the box where it belongs. And noone moved it from where I put it back. The Tribune even called this morning to make sure I had no problems. Stopped at Ollies..got 3 new garden flags, 2 big planters, a power wand for the hose, and 2 rolls of landscape fabric.

Came home and cleaned the car inside and out,,and when I came in , Mr L was asleep, and there was message on the house line, asking me to call Briston Squib Meyers to set up delivery of my Eliquis. It will be sent overnite UPS and get here Monday..hurray!

I asked the guy next door to help me get the mower out of the regular shed and into the woodshed where I lock it after using it. He was more than happy to do it. I was talking to his girlfriend..we were talking about the moron on the other side of me, the one who mowed the lawn last year..and then kept asking to borrow money. Get this one..that idiot even went to their house,,they don't know him, he doesn't know them, and not only tried to sell them some stolen tools,,but asked them to borrow money??? They said he looked stoned and probably wanted it to buy drugs. We think that too. He won't be mowing our lawn this year. I am going to get a riding mower, and just use the self propelled one on the spots the riding one won't be able to get into

Off to figure out dinner..have a great night!

Playing catch up again.

@Breezy_Carol - Congrats on the grandbaby.

@lynxstch - I feel you on the newspaper issues. I have been fighting with my newspaper people off and on for over a year. I want my paper on my doorstep. I have found it in the garden by the door, under my car, in the street and in the Butterfly Bush. Now I am getting it after 10 AM. I call and complain at least every other week. I always get we'll inform the supervisor. He does nothing at all to help. Last call I demanded a supervisor. I only get the paper on Sunday and at times I wonder if it is even worth it. If I wait til Monday I can get it for $1 instead of $5.

Today was my grandson Benny's Birthday. I can't believe my youngest grand child is SEVEN!!! We went to his favorite Hibachi place for dinner. My daughter's boys amaze me. They all had Sushi and Ben ordered Lobster for dinner. I'll post a picture later of his Birthday surprise.

I had to pick up 2 of the older grandkids from school and almost wasn't able to do it. There was a suicide less than a block from my granddaughters school. Traffic was a nightmare most of the morning while cars were detoured away from the scene while the police tried to talk the man out of it. Sadly he did take his life. I used this experience for a serious talk with my grandkids. I want them to know that nothing is ever so bad that they need to do something so drastic and they can ALWAYS reach out to me, no matter the time of day or night. I lost a cousin to suicide a couple of years ago and a nephew to suicide 11 years ago. I understand depression and there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to keep heading to it. I am thankful that I can have such frank discussions with the grandkids and they listen.

We are down to the final push on the renovations. The walls are painted, the floors are down, most of the trim is up and the carpet on the stairs and hallway goes in by Monday. This has been an exhausting project but I am so happy with everything. Even my mother who is usually negative about anything I do likes what she saw yesterday. My husband is annoyed that I am constantly telling him to use a coaster and stop leaving snacks on the couch. He is hoping I calm down once the newness wears off. I told him that won't happen. I even got to spend some quality time with LJ yesterday. My grandson didn't have a sitter so he brought him with him. LJ and I went to the car wash, got a new windshield wiper on my car and then took a walk by the river. Now that the work will be done I can help out once in awhile when they are stuck.

I even got great news from my travel agent. We booked an Alaskan cruise for July 2020 and then with COvid it was cancelled. I rebooked last year hoping for our 40th anniversary and it was cancelled again. We are booked for this July. I had a balcony reserved and we were upgraded to a deluxe balcony. It's a bit bigger but it is in a much better location. I am so excited to finally take this cruise.

I hope everyone has a great night and weekend if I don't get back on.
