Good Morning and Happy Saturday,

I'd also appreciate the entire recipe when you have the time, Carol. Thank you!

:grouphug:Snowysmom and to Taz, as well!

🙏for Mr. L dear Lynn!

It's slowly warming up a little here. I'm so thankful the last two nights to have truly slept a ton better. Comforters really do make such a cozy difference. Not much new otherwise, which I know is a blessing indeed especially right now. Just as always sending a hug to all of you :)

@TazDev Prayers for you. :grouphug:

@lynxstch I hope you hear back about Mr. L's appt.

I am back from the house. The guy did plow the driveway but it was not a great job. I had to shovel out the van and the end of the driveway as well as the trash bins. Younger DS came and finished shoveling for me so I could feed the birds. He painted the windowsill and it looks nice. I had to take all the family pictures off the walls, piano, and mantel. I cried while I was doing it and yelled at Chris at the same time. I guess I can still multitask. Then we moved things downstairs to get things out of the way and filled the trash bin again. The house does look as good as it is going to pre stager. We just wished it could have looked like this when Chris and I lived there. We are getting closer to the open house in hopefully 2 weeks, or 3 at the most.

Tomorrow is younger DGD's birthday. She will be 3. I got her an Elsa playset, Raccoon Rumpus game, a book, and clothes. We are having donuts instead of cake. It should be nice. Older DGD is so funny. I asked her to take care of a large stuffed dog named Strawberry that I have had since I was 14. She takes her job seriously. The cleaners move the dog every time they come in so they can clean the floor. DGD has decided to hide the dog before they come. When Mom asked her why she said that Nana asked me to take good care of Strawberry and the cleaners keep moving her. She is so sweet.

I indulged in a small pepper and onion pizza today. I needed some comfort food and that fit the bill. The place near me makes a really good one. I had a couple of pieces and have leftovers and some for whoever wants it at my DS's. I felt like a treat. I took a walk and now may look at some work I need to figure out.

Have a good Saturday.

Extra:hug:Snowysmom. Your grand daughters truly sound just precious and exactly what you need right now! Happy Birthday tomorrow to the younger one. Love the Strawberry story and how special you have passed it onto her to love and care for.

I hope it's a little warmer/less windy for you Lynn today!

Going to get some mail ready shortly for next week. Reminder, as always, if you'd like some happy mail to just PM me :)

Have a good afternoon, everyone.

Thank you for asking, Snowysmon, I'm really not sure how to answer. It is a bit better, a little less swollen. I had to postpone my follow-up with the surgeon because we had a lot of ice, and I didn't want to risk falling. I'll see what she has to say. She will probably say it takes time and keep doing the exercises. I know that is true, but it is over 3 months.
This coming weekend we are going to our daughters, to celebrate youngest granddaughters first birthday. Then we are going for a few days of R & R. We are going to see Post Modern Jutebox, Has anyone heard of them? We
canceled it after my surgery, but found tickets again so decided to go.

I had a little fun last night making that spaghetti dish I mentioned last week and taking pictures of the progression, lol. (Need a little diversion with all this craziness going on in our world!) I think we will make this more often, it was really good and cleanup was very easy! The most work was chopping the vegetables! To give proper credit, the idea for One Pot Tomato Spaghetti came from foodkings on Instagram. 👍🏻 (We tweaked it a little, adding mushrooms - you could really add anything, including meat - and Parmesan cheese. We were thinking that any vegetables would be really good, including spinach, which the store was out of. 😬)

So you just chop up your vegetables (we used onions, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes), fresh basil and garlic (next time we might cut additional cloves in half and keep them that way in addition to chopping some) and put them in a large frying pan with 1/4 cup olive oil and seasonings (we used salt, freshly cracked pepper and garlic powder). Let them cook for a few mins, then add a small can of tomato paste, and 1lb of dry spaghetti in the middle. Cover all with water (just about to mostly cover, not much more) and cover pan. Cook for about 15-20 mins, lightly separating the spaghetti as it cooks. When done, stir gently, cook uncovered for five or ten more mins (to absorb all the water), then add Parmesan cheese. So good! :goodvibes (I can’t wait to try it later today to see if the flavors improved overnight!)

I hope some of you give it a try! Did anyone try the lazy man’s lasagna? We bought the ingredients for later.

DH is making fresh strawberry and blueberry scones later this morning. :lovestruc And I think we might do a lemon orzo soup later in the week. Last time we made it, it was so good!

@Pea-n-Me That dish looks so good. Once I am settled that will be on my list of suppers.

@dazedx3 Time is the cure for the knee issue. At 3 months I was doing well but had days of some swelling and pain. Ice was my friend. Honestly I iced my knee most of the first year after surgery. It felt so good. One of the reasons for selling my house is that I do not want to risk falling on the ice and snow with the knee replacements. I would be the one to shovel the snow and put down ice melt now. Chris always escorted me to the car when it was icy and even drove me to work if it was bad and walked me to the door. I am glad you are careful on the ice.

I have been watching the news in the late afternoon and evening. It keeps my mind occupied but it is truly disturbing what is going on. My thoughts and prayers are with the brave people of Ukraine. I see even old people training with guns to protect their homeland. Amazing and so brave.

Have a nice Sunday.

We finally got up to meet DS for lunch. :) It was good to see him, and get a proper hug. I liked the restaurant we met at, and the drive was nice on such a sunny day (except for worrying about cars that still had ice on the roof! - We actually saw a few pieces slide off.)

DS seemed kind of stressed/down, though - between school, relationship stuff, and what's going on in the world. (That age just feels things so intensely.) Please send some good thoughts his way.

Good morning all. Sun is slowly coming out,,temp is 30 but going near 50. Getting windy again though :(

My leg is still aching, but not as bad as it was. Managed to get some sleep last nite after taking Tylenol last nite.

Mr L was happy to tell me that preseason football starts today,,I just hope they don't televise every game, or I will never get him to stop watching!

No plans for the day as of now, have to go figure out something for dinner. @Pea-n-Me..that spaghetti looks good, but you would have to leave out the peppers and mushrooms for me to eat it,,lol! I have all the ingredients to make the Lazy Mans Lasagna this week sometime too. We had gemelli pasta with Italian meatballs and garlic bread for dinner last nite, no idea what tonite is going to be though

Have a nice morning everyone

Prayers for your DS, PollyannaMom and always for you as well.

Hug to you, Pea and I'm glad you and your DH enjoyed some cooking time and some tasty meals, too!

Lynn, continued and always prayers to you and Mr. L for health and out of the wind warmth!

Love and Sunday good wishes to Snowysmom, Easyas, and all of my Quacker family.

Thanks for all the baby love... :lovestruc We still haven't got baby cuddles yet but I'm in no rush, I know my time will come. :rolleyes1  They've had quite a bit of company since coming home but I want to let them have some time to settle before we go over too.

We have our family trip to Disney scheduled for Oct.
How exciting. I'm sure if will be a great trip with the family.

What's her name?

Her name is Anastasia...:lovestruc They haven't shared any pics of her on social media so I don't feel right sharing one here yet. When I finally get to hold her, I'll ask about sharing a pic.

It's a regular brownie with a layer of buttercream made with creme de menthe, then a chocolate glaze on top. It is what people request that I bring.
Looks sooo yummy. I hope the shower was a success. I'm sure it was.

Older DGD is so funny. I asked her to take care of a large stuffed dog named Strawberry that I have had since I was 14. She takes her job seriously. The cleaners move the dog every time they come in so they can clean the floor. DGD has decided to hide the dog before they come. So sweet.

We are going to see Post Modern Jutebox, Has anyone heard of them? We
canceled it after my surgery, but found tickets again so decided to go.
Love PostModern Jukebox. DD introduced me to them. We wanted to see them in Vegas for DDs 21st birthday. When it was time for me to buy the tickets, they had just canceled the remaining shows they had scheduled at the venue. We were so bummed. Hopefully we can make it happen sometime. I hope you enjoy the show.

I had a little fun last night making that spaghetti dish I mentioned last week and taking pictures of the progression, lol.
Yum...looks really good. Thanks for sharing.

Please send some good thoughts his way.
Thinking of him.

DH came home for the weekend so we've just been hanging out. Good thing he did come home because we discovered a leaking pipe in the wall between both bathrooms. He was able to fix it before there was too much damage, hate to think what we would've had to pay or for how long we'd have to be without water if he wasn't home. Thankful he's such a handy guy. He's headed back up north tomorrow and I'll probably go with him.

Hope you all have a great rest of your day.

God Bless baby Anastasia, AuntieMe3! Thank you for sharing her name with us.

Dad and I decided we're going to get Terri this Easter Basket at Michael's. It is more money than we had intended but dad will get an additional 10% senior discount. Terri is such a nice friend. Plus, this way it is more long lasting than just something from the Dollar Tree and maybe an item she can use and not just at Easter. Michael's is kindly holding it for us until tomorrow when dad will go get it.

It's definitely a little warmer here today for which I'm so very grateful! Prayers it is the same for all of you. I hope you are all also having a good afternoon.
