@lynxstch, YAY for great news, and shopping.

We had a nice day today. DS and DDIL came up to go to Longwood Gardens with us. We ended up going to Two Stones Pub for lunch before the gardens. DD and DGD joined us for lunch and the gardens. It was a very nice day.

Now trying to decide what to do for dinner.

Hooray for some good Quacker Saturday shares all-around :)

Hug, Snowysmom, I hope you had a good day.

That does sound like a bice Saturday, Carol. I'm glad you got to spend some of it with your kids and grandkids.

Thank you for the smile, Pea with the laundry smilie! I hope work went smoothly for you today, my friend.

I'm so glad you and your DH got to enjoy a movie, PollyannaMom.

Dead and Carol, too, I still haven't watched any of the Christmas movies I did record but will. I am starting to feel more heading into the season. It's nice to have movies recorded to watch. I definitely agree that these days a lot of seasons seem to start awfully early.

Big hug, Lynn, and may you and Mr. L truly enjoy peaceful night's sleep in your new bed! I certainly will keep a good Monday thought for your going home.

I got some happy mail including a couple early Thanksgiving cards and a red parka from Walmart. Such a blessing to now have a parka that fits me (my one older one was huge) and is soft, too. I'm also grateful right now that dad used the toaster oven as an oven to make himself some dinner because that warmed up the apartment nicely.

Sweet dreams to all!

Morning all. Can't sleep, have been awake for hours, so much for the time change and getting an extra hours sleep. Have been watching TV for hours. Just thinking about being home with hubby, furbabies, and in my own space. Going to be in the 70s the next few days, even though it's 23 degrees out right now. Have a nice Sunday morning everyone!

Good Morning, everyone, from me, too!

I've also been up for a while. I just enjoyed some pancakes (not seeing the pancake smiley right now. Didn't there used to be one)? Cool morning here and thanks to the time change, already feels later than not even 8am. Wishing all of you a good and warm day with love.

I hope everyone is having a good morning. Today older DS, 2 DGSs and I went to get humungous donuts for breakfast. On the way there I told the grandkids that I still read a newspaper so that makes me a dinosaur. I asked them what kind of dinosaur I could be. Older DGS told me I am a magical dinosaur. I am good with that. I had one quarter of the donut and I am done. I have not been overly hungry lately so that is all I needed and it did make a bit queasy, so no more for me.

The kids and I were at the house yesterday. They filled the dumpster to the very top. Younger DS went over Friday and did some and older DS did alot yesterday. They also took the bags of trash from the house that had all the stuff we decided had to be thrown out. The outdoor stuff is basically done except for the gas grill. We are thinking of putting it out with a free sign on it. It is still in good shape but both kids have grills and I won't need one. The propane tank will not be included. Next we are concentrating on getting the top floor finished by throwing out the remaining stuff that needs to go. I am doing the slow stuff, ,the sorting of papers what to save, what to throw out, and what to put in shredding. I have sorted the DVDs and CDs keeping what I want which isn't alot. I have sent some DVDs and books to Chris' cousin that he grew up with. They really were more like brothers. I want someone to have some of the memorabilia that Chris loved from TV growing up who will appreciate it alot. He did tell me he appreciates it so that makes me happy. I sorted books and I am keeping alot as I love to read and want my old familiar books with me. Plus I am keeping some of Chris' favorites for me. I sort, I cry, and then sort some more. I think I am going to have trouble emotionally selling the house. My brain tells me it is the right thing to do but my heart says something else. I have to remember that Chris was not overly fond of the house. He thought it was needed to be about 6 feet wider and the rooms bigger. He didn't like the open dining room and living room concept. We bought it because it gave each son their own room and it was in a neighborhood where younger DS's friends lived. I also have to realize that it is too big for me and the maintenance is alot of work. Plus it needs some work done inside like new carpets, bathroom work, and new kitchen flooring. Let someone else put in those things and pick what they want. I need to make a full transition to my new life. Chris can come along in spirit as I hope he does. As an aside, we picked up Chris' urn yesterday and it sits on a shelf in my room at the son's house. I told Chris this is an interim space. We will be going somewhere else once the house is taken care of. I also told him he needs to help me pick out the new place.

Sorry to be wordy today. My heart is sore today and writing out these words helps. This afternoon we are going to younger DS's house for a visit so that will help. The cousins will have fun together.

Have a nice Sunday.

Good morning.

Been to church and set some of the clocks here. Will not like it being dark at 5 pm.

We are thinking of putting it out with a free sign on it.
Are you or you sons on Facebook? Is there a "Buy Nothing" page? I belong to Buy Nothing Cecil County and DD belongs to Buy Nothing Middletown. A person can post an item they want to get rid of but not tell the address until you DM them. I got rid of a kitchen set that way. DD has gotten rid of and received many children items.

I think I am going to have trouble emotionally selling the house. My brain tells me it is the right thing to do but my heart says something else.
I strongly believe in waiting 6 months after a life change before making major decisions like that but do what is right for you. I don't see any rush unless you can't find a new place until you sell this one.

Football on TV this afternoon. I have my Ravens jersey on.

No apologies - we're here to listen!!

I think you're doing a great job sorting and sharing, and I'm sure someone will snag the grill.

The grands' "magical dinosaur" comment is adorable. When I Googled it, I found these:

I don't have to sell quickly as I am staying with older DS. He has given me 22 years to live with him as that is how long he lived with DH and I. LOL! I did tell him I would not stay 22 years. I do need my own space. By the time we totally clean out the house and get it ready to sell it will be Spring. So I have plenty of time to decide. But, I was trying to get DH to think about selling and getting a smaller place before he passed so this is not a new idea. Both sons have expressed that they would worry about me in the big house and would prefer that I move even closer to one of them into a smaller, one level place. I think losing their Dad has made them very protective of Mom. Mom does have a mind of her own but I do take what they say into consideration.

So far we have put our a table and chair bar set and it was gone in a day. Our street is well traveled. But I will ask sons about Facebook. Thanks for the idea. We will most likely have more furniture to get rid of.

:grouphug:❤Snowysmom, I love the grands magical dinosaur idea and Pollyanna Mom's image of it, too (adorable, PollyannaMom, thank you, my friend) ITA with Carol to allow yourself time and some initial healing to make any huge decisions. I continue to be so thankful that you have the support of your family who are also physically there with you. Please, no apologies ever. We thank you for trusting in us to share and pray for you!

Carol, I am so not a time change fan either. All day it continues to feel later, darker, and colder than it may really be, yuck. I hope you did enjoy church. I still need to watch.

:) Dead. I will start watching one of my Hallmark Christmas movies later. I must. DVR is getting fuller!

Continued prayers extra to Lynn, Taz, and Kirby.

I have shared how much I enjoy Pavilions sugar cookies and I sure do, they are a wonderful treat! What I like about them especially is that they are soft (when heated), thicker and don't have extra sugar (on top or all-around) or the added grease that often the flatter sugar cookies, do. So, they are probably healthier than the Betty Crocker pouch I used to love and too often make pre pandemic. Do any of you dear Quackers have a recipe for cookies that sound like the Pavilions ones? Would be a sweet way to warm up the apartment some time. Thank you, my friends.

:grouphug: and love to all of you always.
