Happy Friday all...Still feeling out of sorts and I've been MIA again but sort of skimmed through last night before bed.
Thinking of Lynn today... :grouphug:
@flyingdumbo127 I hope you hear back from the new dentist and you like them as much as you did you old one.
Hugs for @Snowysmom....glad you like your therapist.
@Pea-n-Me what you shared about going through your mom's things....I'm feeling that. I've been having a hard time lately and I thought I was doing relatively well with my grief. Everything reminds me of her or how she would feel, react, say about anything We had her celebration of life in June and I just barely took down all the pictures we had displayed. I felt overwhelmed with them all being out and not knowing what to do with them all. So I just stacked them for now and asked family if anyone wanted any and should be distributing some out soon and the rest can go on an album. I can't imagine what my poor dad feels at home still surrounded by her things...he's a pack rat though and doesn't want to get rid of any of equipment(wheelchair, commode, electric reclining chair, etc)...just in case. We did go through her clothes and donated those at least. Anyway...

My root canal last week went fantastic until I started having pain Sunday and Monday before my appointment to get my crown placed. Dentist thinks the endodontist might have left some of the nerve or whatever in the canal so I need to see him again before the dentist will place the permanent crown. They cleaned up the area and place another temporary and my pain as decreased by still there. Bad news is my appt isn't until the 11th so I'm having to baby my mouth until my then. I'm having to drink lukewarm water because another cooler hurts so bad. :(

Also one of our doggies isn't doing very well and I'm afraid we're going to make a decision soon none of us are ready to make. :guilty:

Geez...what a bummer I am. Sorry to bring everything down but if you don't mind keeping me in your thoughts and prayers I would appreciate it.

I'm down in San Diego with my niece for the next week while my sister and BIL went out of town. Doing the school routine is exhausting and today is only the first day. LOL

Hope everyone have a great day. :grouphug:

ETA... @footballmouse I never answered your question about Hello Fresh. We really like it but I can't help with the costs compared to grocery shopping yourself because DD pays for it so it doesn't affect my grocery budget. LOL She pays for it, I make it. I like it because I hate meal planning, I hate having to come up with what to make for dinner. So with this DD picks meals she thinks we'd all like and it all there when I want to make it. I just need to decide what we want that day and make sure I defrost the meat, if there is some, for that meal. It comes with everything you need except things like oil and butter, salt and pepper. The recipes so far have been pretty easy and we've almost everything I've made so far. We get 3 meals for 4 people a week for about $80, I think. I know she used a coupon code that was good for our first 6 weeks and it was like maybe $60 a week. There is only 3 of us, so we usually have leftovers but when we've invited my dad over, it just the pefect amout. We don't do every week if we know I will be out of town or just want a break from cooking "different things" and I'll stick with my go to's. LOL And sometimes if I know DH is going to be out of town for awhile we'll do 3 meals for 2 people and it's actually plenty of food is he just so happens to be home one day.

Good afternoon.

We have Colin Powell's funeral on TV. The music is always so comforting and the speeches are interesting.

This morning we met with the relator for DH's office. It's been on the market almost 18 months so we decided to drop the price. Hopefully that will bring more interest. Then we went to the library and picked out some books.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is coming from Elkton, MD this year. There are pictures online but not the address. DD is on the county grapevine and found out the address so we drove by and saw it but I am under strict orders not to share the address.

We will be going to Hilton Head for Thanksgiving.
Sounds like fun.

Our Thanksgiving Day plans are TBD. DS is going to his in-laws and DD also plans to go to in-laws. We will have everyone here on Friday, our traditional holiday of "Lamesgiving." Not sure what DH and I will do.

one of our doggies isn't doing very well and I'm afraid we're going to make a decision soon
:sad1::hug: I am sure you will make the right decision, at the right time. I know how hard that is.

@AuntieMe3 Sending prayers for you. It really is hard to miss someone who passed and have to deal with things as they come up. I cam imagine how your Dad is feeling being at home with your mother's things around him. It is not an easy journey for anyone to go through. I cannot stay at my house alone for more than a few hours without an anxiety attack and lots of tears. I hope your dental issues are cleared up soon. Sorry to hear about your doggie. That is very difficult too. :grouphug:

Friday
What a day today. I woke up about 15 minutes before my alarm was set to go off feeling well rested with a plan of:
Take my thyroid medication
Call the extension office and let them know the number of Family Fun Night ticket books needed for doing a sales table at Tractor Supply along with seeing if I can get some of the books for the cloverbuds in the 4-H club. (Cloverbuds is the non competative pre program where the kids just get colorful participation ribbons for their exhibits at fair along with if they participate in showcase which is the fashion review or in communication day by doing a demonstration).
Get a shower and wash my hair (since switching to products that are slicone and silicate free my hair does not attrack so much grease, oil, and dirt that I can get by not washing it daily)
Get ready for the day and enjoy a quick breakfast at home before heading out the door to
Stop by the extension office
If needed stop by Albertson's and get the cupcakes, candles, and a lighter for celebrating birthdays at bowling league (all the kids and any adults and younger siblings who wanted them would get a cupcake with the kids who have birthdays that month would have a candle put in their's which would be light and everyone would sing to them and they could blow out their candle. That way everything is sanitary and it is easier to serve cupcakes opposed to getting a cake and having to cut and plate it-as long as you don't get the ones that the cupcakes are arranged in a shape and then frosted all over the top to actually look like a cake that is messy messy messy
Go to bowling league
Celebrate the October birthdays for the kids in bowling league
Drop by the credit union to make a payment on the credit card because why mail a payment to another state when I can just use the drive thru locally and I know the payment was received and not missing or delayed-I have always paid this way even before the pandemic.
Swing by TLC lan (unmentionables because I can't spell which why I dropped French after a term in university as that majorly dropped my grade in the class from you would have an A to you have a D. Didn't need the course to graduate so said ok forget this) to get at least some things for 14 year old who has had a major growth spurt.
Go to HuHot for a late lunch. This is a mongolian grill place that you put what you want in a bowl ok most of the time bowls because they really don't care if you follow the one bowl at a time rule too much. Then you take it to a grill and they cook it. They have several types of meats, noodles, a bunch of vegetables and some fruits like pineapple and mandarin oranges plus right now they also have cranberries to add to your meal. In addition you can order appetizers, soup, salad, desserts and even kids meals like macaroni and cheese when you come in and they deliver those to your table. It is open seating and you get your drinks at a drink station now. Before they had to shut down your server took your drink order at your table and they had the coke freestyle machine along with any of your menu item orders and you were seated by a hostess. I have been a member of their reward program for several years now and it is one of our favoite places to go and eat.
Go to Albertsons and get some groceries plus get items for the 7 points that I have to spend by the end of the month.

This is how the day ended up going down.
Got up and took my thyroid herbals
Attempted to call 16 year old to make sure she was up and moving for the day
Got a a quick shower and washed my hair.
Attempted to call 16 year old while drying off and getting dressed a number of times.
Set out clothes for 14 year old to wear even though both her pairs of capris were in the dirty laundry so there was no risk of her wearing those. Made mental note time to put those up for the next several months else she decide to wear them when it is 30 below with 40 mph winds and snowing heavily.
Tried to call 16 year old again
DH finally woke up so I asked him to call 16 year old. Surprise Surprise she actually answers her phone when dad calls even though I had mentioned Thursday night that I wanted to try and go in early so we could go to the extension office before bowling thinking if nothing else I could do the go to TLC, the credit union, and Albertsons with just 14 year old and she could go with DH to the mall to get her ears pierced. (Which she has been wanting to do but between finding the time when he could go with her because she would have to have a parent sign permission and I can't walk long distances so going to a mall where they don't have scooters or wheel chairs to rent only about 10 single strollers at the main entrance it hasn't gotten done since things have reoppened up around here and more stores are open with the exception of some that did not make it and ended up closing their doors permantly.
Finally got going stopped by Bank to get money from the ATM for bowling fees and for paying the credit card
Called Bowling Coach to see if we needed to pick up cupcakes.
No answer so left voice mail and continued towards bowling
Got call back that yes we needed to pick up cupcakes along with a lighter and candles was at a good spot to easily head to the store without too much backtracking nor my having to make a left hand turn across 2 lanes of traffic that is not at a light.
Stopped by Albertsons and got the cupcakes along with everything else
Went to bowling and got something to eat at the snack bar (snack bar is only open on weeks we are there)
16 year old was about 2/3rd of the way through game 2 out of the 3 game series that is bowled each week and 13 year old was on the 2nd frame of game 2. Things appeared to be going well. 13 year old due to disabilities bowls with a ball ramp.
Next thing I know 13 year old is sitting on the floor beside the ramp. Both Coach and I start telling her to get up and Coach starts calling 16 year old over because 13 year old is signing something and he can't understand what she is saying. I am not wearing bowling shoes 16 year old starts going mama get down her so I quickly put my hamburger down (btw one of the best burgers in town nice and thick and juicy). 13 year old is half sitting half laying there with her knee cap off to the side of her knee on her left leg. 16 year old and coach are able to get up up and to a chair to assess her a bit more. I immediately call my sister who is an athletic trainer and is attatched to one of the orthopedic clinics in our area. 13 year old has fallen at bowling and her leg is in bad shape can you get her into one of the doctors. Just go to the othopedic clinic walk in. I grab my last bite of burger and put that in my mouth as I am grabbing my purse to head out the opposite door to go get the truck and bring it around to the closer door. I tell 16 year old she is welcome to stay and finish her bowling. I get to the truck and quickly call DH to let him know what has happened and to meet me at the clinic. He had just started changing the oil on the car which is why I have the truck. I come around to the entrance that is closer and out comes 13 year old leaning a bit on the coach along with 16 year old.
We head to the clinic where I am able to curbside unload both of the girls and then go and park right acoss on the opposite side of the island. Here I was thinking that I would be using the valet parking option but it was late on a Friday afternoon and slow so they were letting people self park and not 3 blocks away.
Results 13 year old dislocated her knee and then it went back in at the alley. She has hyperflexation so we can expect this to possibly happen again. PA that we saw was not at all shocked when we mentioned that quite often 13 year old will be found with her heals criss crossed and placed on the opposite shoulders from the back. (Nothing like looking over and seeing your kid doing that thinking oh my gads you have broken both legs at the hips, crying out in horror and having a kid get up and run off laughing). She also has hairline fractures in her growth plates so still has a significant amount of growing to do. 16 year old is not amused that not only is younger sister already taller than her but is going to be much taller. Currently 16 year old is about 5'3 and 13 year old is already 5'7
Will continue this later as to how the rest of the day went along with how much I ended up forgetting.

Came through tests with flying colors, no clots, 1 small blockage which they are going to take care of when replacing valve . The did the cardioversion and my heart is out of a Fib and in normal rhythm, and I feel almost like myself. Summer and Mr L were here all day, I made her take him home so he could enjoy at least a little of his birthday. But it meant the world to have both of them here with me. Thank you all for the continued good thoughts, it helped!!

Thank God! I am so thankful to read your update, Lynn, hooray! Huge hug to you, my friend and continued prayers! Happy Birthday to your DH! What a precious gift he was given, too :) Please know, always, we all are here.

:grouphug:AuntieMe3 along with extra love and prayer, my friend. What a tough journey both you and Snowysmom are on :( Keeping you both tucked in extra prayer that's for sure! I am so sorry about your dog and dental trouble, too. Please take care of yourself! Remember, both of you lovely friends, we are here and so very much care.

Carol, how cool about the Christmas tree! I look forward to seeing some pictures.

Sweetpea, as always, sounds like you have a lot going on. Prayers for peace and rest for you!

Dad's new comforter came at last. He's pleased with it, which makes me happy. Now to figure out what to do with our two old comforters that are both in excellent shape. I know during a plague passing on bedding might not be the best of ideas although I did last year gift a blanket to a friend's grand daughter. I do know we could (and probably would) donate them. I guess it'd be nice to know for sure they were being used and hey if we could get a few bucks even for them, well that would be an extra. My parka is still awol!

:hug:to all and good early evening to most of you and almost 2pm to my fellow CA Quacker, AuntieMe3.

Dangerous part of being in here, I am shopping like a mad woman lol. Bought a Ninja Foodi the other nite, bought myself 2 pairs slippers, a bathrobe, nut gift box for Mr Ls birthday, 3 new sets of queen size sheets, we are shopping for new bed as soon as I get home, 2 pairs of pj's from Old Navy, and 2 sweaters from Walmart . It made hubby happy cause I rarely buy myself anything new. So many places have pre black Friday deals going it's hard to resist. Today I am going to work on getting a few more Christmas gifts done. Really have to try and find something special for Sil, niece. And Summer for all they have been doing, and I have no clue what to get.

I feel so much better this morning, I know I still have a lot to go through to get valves fixed or placed, but having at least a day or so where I feel like myself again feels amazing! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!!

Well, 2 Dr's later, I have somewhat of a good/great update. I am in 100% total normal sinus rhythm, and no longer in AFib. They have decided to try and go forward with just medication, and my heart will hopefully stay in rhythm and not need any surgery at all, or a lot further down the road .They say it's totally possible, so we are praying for that. They said 'if' I went home today, which I wont ,that with caution and slowness, I could slowly resume most of what I was doing before this happened, of course with some changes in diet. I am now on Amiodarone, along with at least 3 other meds that Mr L also takes, but I can live with that. We are going to resume the Lasix today to try and get rid of the excess fluid in my legs and then take it from there. So between yesterday's surgery. The excellent ( and cute Dr--- I got the brand new cardiac surgeon for the hospital, almost as cute as the ER doc lol), God's watchfulness, and the love and support of family and friends, including my DIS family, things are definitely looking up right now!!!!

Good afternoon everyone.

Busy morning with football for the grandkids and then food distribution at church. I am relaxing for the rest of the day as my knee and ankle are throbbing.

@lynxstch - glad you are doing well. My husband has AFib. They think that is probably what caused his strokes along with some other issues. We didn't know it as his issues were mostly at night. He had something called a Loop Recorder inserted in his chest wall and that was how they found it. He has been on a beta blocker for 4 years now and it has kept it completely under control so hopefully the meds will do the same for you.

Time to put the headphones on as my husband is in football heaven. Hope you all are having a good day.
