Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Anyone got anything going on for the weekend? Here it’s going to be a nice, crisp fall day! We might see if there are any yard sales around. I might make some pies later. (Never got around to doing the apple ones before.) And I’d really like to try that Salisbury steak dinner that someone shared here recently, it looked so good! Got a haircut last night and grocery shopped, so DH and I just grabbed some chicken caesar wraps from the local pizza place. It was good, but I’m not really a fan of the bread used for wraps. It is nice having a weekend off from the craziness that is a hospital these days.

Anyone got anything going on for the weekend?

It's my "birthday weekend" so DH took the extra day off yesterday. We went furniture shopping (ultimately unsuccessful, but fun on the nice day) and to the "House of Brews" for dinner, we are going to the movies today, probably breakfast out and resting tomorrow, and then heading up to Maine on Monday to visit DS on his day off. - I'm hoping they're a little ahead of us on fall color!

Happy Birthday!! :bday: That sounds like a lovely weekend! Enjoy! Take some pictures for us!

Good morning all. Happy Birthday weekend @PollyannaMom Have a great one.
They say its raining here, but all is dry, temp will only be about 67.
Back was pretty good all day yesterday, until about 6 pm, then it ached like crazy. Slept on and off from 11 till 4.
Have to take a bag of trash to the shed, remake the bed I stripped, and do 2 loads of laundry. That should tire me out enough to need a nap

Have a nice morning all

Good morning.

I don't have much to contribute today. Sometimes there just isn't anything to share.

I watched a new show that started last night, Ghosts
The ads looked interesting but I just didn't want another show. Sort of like Ordinary Joe. I watched one but it was confusing and I haven't watched one since.

@Snowysmom, thanks for stopping in. I know we are all thinking of you. At least come by and say HI so we know how you are doing.

Anyone got anything going on for the weekend?
Tomorrow is DS's birthday. Tonight we are meeting him and his wife at Crooked Crab Brewery, his choice. We have both of their gifts and I made chocolate cupcakes with homemade caramel frosting to take. There will be a food truck there for dinner. DD and her family are coming too.

It's my "birthday weekend"
:bday: PollyannaMom:bday:

Doing laundry now.

Happy Birthday weekend, PollyannaMom:cake: Wishing you joy always, my friend and a fun celebration, too! :)

Happy Birthday to your DS Carol. ITA that sometimes there is just not much to say and that is quite all right!

Please feel better, dear Lynn! As always such cute Pooh pictures you share with us pooh:

I hope you get to enjoy the sunshine despite being at work, Footballmouse!

It's cool again here this morning, a little sunny. Lol, I think I feel cool-ish at times due to coursings courtesy of that time of transition!

Happy Saturday to all!

Wow, bottom of page one.

We had a nice visit with family. Beer was ok, but DS liked it. I enjoyed the food truck. And the cupcakes were delicious (if I do say so myself.). When Carter saw the cupcakes, he knew what he wanted. BTW, he had his first hair cut today.

Good night everyone.

Good morning all. Raining very lightly.

I got everything done I needed to yesterday, stripped and remade bed, cleaned litter boxes, and did 3 loads of laundry. Back was getting sore, so I gave in and tried one of the Tramadol they had sent home from the hospital with Mr L. I did NOT want to use the roxycodone, no thank you. The tramadol took the edge off, only made me feel a little 'loopy', and let me get through the evening without being in agony. Don't plan on taking too many of those !

Went to bed at 11, slept till 2:30. Got up at 4 and fed cats, and went back to bed. Woke at 7, and thought I would go back to sleep for half hour, woke at 9, lol. I needed the sleep!

Only thing on my agenda today is doing my beauty routine while hubby watches football.

Have a nice morning everyone!

Said I would report back after I did this:

...All "homework" is optional, but I bookmarked a couple of articles for follow-up reading, and wrote down a website where you can take a free quiz on your personal strengths. (I'll post back if that turns out to be cool.)

Pros: It was very easy to find and navigate. (here is the link) You click <login> and then <register> to make an account. (It doesn't ask for a lot of info, though.) And then you scroll down to "VIA Survey of Character Strengths".

There are lots of other quizzes there, too (and you only have to make the account once): Authentic Happiness Inventory, Optimism Test, Grit Survey, Work-Life Questionnaire, Stress & Empathy Questionnaire...

Cons: The quiz itself was 240 questions (multiple choice - each asking how closely a certain sentences describes you) so it took quite a while. I was on the site for almost an hour altogether, but I kept getting interrupted by the cats and the phone, so I would say it actually takes less than that. Still not exactly "quick" though.

(It does look like there is a shorter version, though, and also one for kids.)

Results: I was not at all surprised that my top strength was "love of learning". 📚 :rolleyes1📚

Good afternoon! :)

Good for you, PollyannaMom! A continued love for learning is a great thing to have indeed :)

Quiet Sunday here. I got some mail ready for Tuesday. I did PM some of you with a mail question. I'd appreciate your getting back to me by tomorrow. Thank you, always, friends :)

@lynxstch, I’m pretty sure if we took a poll here, you would absolutely have the cleanest bed in town! ☺

We finally got around to doing the Salisbury steak from the recipe posted here. And it was yummy, so thank you! Where we shopped they had no ground turkey, so we had to use ground beef, but still good. Next time will be easier since we know now how to do it. We doubled the batch, and froze some for a future easy meal. We will add more mushrooms next time, as we love them. We also cheated and used the Bob Evans mashed potatoes, which are good. 👍🏻

Good evening.

Church this morning then we drove to a wildlife refuge about an hour away in Delaware. We hoped the grey weather would improve but instead it started raining. It has a driving loop so we still could see a lot of birds from the car. Saw a lot of mute swans.

Otherwise, just counting down the days until vacation.
