Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good evening.

Woke up several times last night with the thunderstorms that went through. This morning DH and I went through some of our maps and info we save from trips to pull what we need for the trip to Florida and throw out duplicates and outdated things. This afternoon I sat at the Welcome Desk at church for 2 hours. Hot dogs and beans for dinner.

@lynxstch, great news about the cost of the prescriptions.

We have travel plans this March as well
We have a cruise scheduled for March but I am not sure I want to go, even if they sail. We booked in fall of 2019 to cruise February 2021. Had to rebook to not lose deposit. Not sure what we will do come March.

@flyingdumbo127, I like those placemats and the price was right. LOL

Dinner this evening will be pork chops
I know this is too late now but I have an easy and tasty way to cook pork chops.

CHILI POWDER BAKED PORK CHOPS
6-8 center cut pork chops
chili powder
salt and pepper, to taste

Wash the pork chops then salt and pepper both sides. Layer them in an oblong Pyrex or bakeware dish that has been sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle the top side of the pork chops with chili powder. Cover securely with foil and bake 1 hour in 350°F. oven.
These are delicious. Serve them with rice and green beans. This was my Moms and grandmother's way of cooking pork chops. I have always cooked them this way.

I only use 2 chops and just seal in a foil packet. So good.

DH is trying to watch the baseball game but is sleeping through it.

Snowysmom, sorry to hear about your husband's passing. Glad to hear that you have people to lean on during this time.

Breezy_Carol thank you for posting your pork chop recipe. I was just telling my sisters last night that we haven't had pork chops since Ds2 moved out. He always grilled them and they were sooooo good.

I had quite a bit of dinner left over so I packed up a plate for my aunt who lives up the street. Ds3 was going to do some running around after dinner so I asked him to drop it off for me. I had to laugh when he left, I could just imagine the conversation that was going to take place between a 90 year old lady and a 20 year guy popcorn:: . Of course, my aunt called right a way to thank me for the dinner and to tell me all about their conversation :hyper2:.

Excited for Survivor tonight and then Tough as Nails starts afterwards. I think I'm going to have to record that one, I haven't been making it past 9:30 before I fall asleep.

Supposed to rain today so glad I remembered my umbrella. Maybe it will rain enough to wash the moles out of my yard :rolleyes1.

Everyone have a great Wednesday! :daisy:

That looks like something my husband would love - I'm going to remember that for next time! My usual go-to is to give them a quick sear and then do a low & slow cook with tomatoes & peppers.

I'm on the road this afternoon & next, have a good week everyone. I'll pop in when I can!

Good morning.

Relatively busy day. I called my PCP and they do have the high test flu shot (for old people) so going there later this morning to get that. Then PT this afternoon followed by a pre-vacation pedicure. I still have some reading to complete for my Bible study tomorrow. Already prepped chicken for the Foreman grill later.

Excited for Survivor tonight and then Tough as Nails starts afterwards.
Me too! I like both of those.

Drive safely @eaasyas123.

Good Morning,

Real cool right now. Weather has definitely changed from the 90's a couple days ago.

Dad will be going to the library today to pick up some 📚 or me and a CD 💿 for himself. Other books, including ones recommended by some of dear you are in transit for his next trip :)

Reminder to please PM me to be added to a group PM about early Quacker Meet up planning. I think now more than ever it'd mean a lot to have fun coming together to dream and begin having fun planning this.

Wishing all of you a good Wednesday! Thinking extra right now of course of Snowysmom. Prayers also for Sparkle and Tina, neither of whom, have posted in a while.

Well I made it before noontime, but when Mona (flyingdumbo) , beats me, I know I am late..lol..Slept well from 11-2, awake from 2-4, slept on and off from 4-8. Back was so sore, and I was so tired, I thought I would be out like a light, but of course not. Hubby wants me to take one of the pain pills they gave him in rehab, but I don't like to take anything stronger than Tylenol, but if this keeps up, I may just try one later this afternoon.

Sister in law and niece did my shopping,,and of course they had to make a marathon trip out of it. They left their house at noon..and got here with groceries at 7:30. I put away cold stuff, and left everything else for this morning. Drove the trash down to the street, and had a heck of a time getting the bags out and down in the driveway without my back aching worse. But I did it. Came in and got hubby's breakfast, did the dishes, scanned and put everything away, and finally sat down here at 11:40. I plan on doing nothing the rest of the day except for feeding the cats and making lunch and dinner.

Cloudy and 67 and they say that will be our high,,sure looks and feels like it's going to rain.

Survivor is one of my favorite shows, and I like Tough As Nails, (but I like Phil better when he's on Amazing Race!)

Have a nice rest of the morning and afternoon all.

Another lazy hotel day for me. Actually I doing DHs laundry right now and then I think I'm heading home. He went in early this morning, came back for a couple hours before heading back about an hour ago, he'll be there working late into the night.
Heading to San Diego this weekend to babysit my niece Saturday so I figure I can be at home for at least a day before I leave again. DH will be here through the weekend and into next week so I may came back after the weekend.

Good thing DD enjoys having the house to herself. The dogs on the other hand, they miss us when we're gone...:guilty:

 Lynn, I agree with Pea about seeing/or at least calling your doctor. We're concerned about you dear friend.

Thanks, Carol, please do! You could still be part of the planning thread! Just so you'd be kept in the loop. ::MickeyMo I would love to meet you and get to say thanks in person for all your kindness and, of course, introducing me to your church!

Gosh, you are sure on the go, AuntieMe3 🚗 I'll definitely add you to the eventual planning thread, my friend and fellow CA Quacker.

I hope all of you had a good Wednesday. Still afternoon for AuntieMe3 and I :)

While a meeting like this sounds fun, it is unlikely I can travel across the country for it. But if we every come to CA, I will be sure to let you know.
It does sound like fun but I don't like to fly and at the moment don't see myself flying anytime soon. I'd love to go to Disneyland but feel like I lost my chance when we went to San Diego a couple of years ago. Oh well......

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old (Think Carpenters)

Almost at the bottom of the page.
Love the Carpenters!

Found out today that my future DIL has Covid. DS has no symptoms so far. I have a niece who has it and a nephew and his wife with it, both on ventilators. Don't want to sound doomsdayish but I think it's just a matter of time before be all experience Covid first hand.

I'm sorry to hear that....I hope they all recover and DS continues symptom free. My dad lost two cousins to Covid last year and I just found out through the (extended)family FB group, a second cousin and his wife are currently hospitalized with it, he more serious than his wife.

Good morning. Slept from 10-4.which is better than usual. Back wasn't quite as bad last nite. Cold seems better too. Lets hope!

Sorry to hear from those of you whose family members have Covid, hope they recover quickly

Going back to bed for awhile, and taking it easy today again

I too don't see myself flying anywhere for the foreseeable future, so a DL trip might be out of the question, ,but I would love to read about the plans anyhow

Have a nice morning

Happy Thursday morning! :daisy:

It's supposed to be a rainy day today so hopefully I can get my stuff done in between the raindrops. Back in high school, I ran track and one day at practice my coach made us run in the rain. We were all kind of shocked and then he tells us to "run between the raindrops". For some reason I have always remembered him saying this and I've always told my kids to run between the raindrops when they go outside in the rain. Weird things that we remember.

Survivor is one of my favorite shows, and I like Tough As Nails, (but I like Phil better when he's on Amazing Race!)
I agree. While I like Tough as Nails, I LOVE the Amazing Race. I'm not sure if that show will ever be able to return, luckily I watch it on Prime when I need my TAR fix. I don't think he's as good of a play by play announcer like Jeff Probst is. Survivor was good last night, little shocked as to who went home but I guess it was going to be one of the two they were discussing.

Taking a 1/2 day vacation day today. My future DIL asked if I would go with her to pick up her wedding dress today. All the fittings are done so she'll try it on one last time and I'm going so they can show me how to bustle her dress. She was texting me yesterday about table centerpieces and other decorations for the venue, we're going to get lunch and go over some ideas. This is kind of surprising actually, I'm not really sure how to feel about this. It started out great, she asked me and her mom to go with her to pick out her wedding dress and then I felt like I was just dropped. I made a suggestion for the rehearsal dinner but when Ds brought it up to his dad, his dad said no (only because it was my idea). So instead of compromising, they gave in to him and he ended up arranging the rehearsal dinner and they went with his idea without even telling me about it. Then I wasn't invited to her family's bridal shower until the week before. I just feel like I'm an afterthought. But then she goes and asks for my opinion on decorations and asks for suggestions on other things. I just don't know.

Hope everyone has a good day today! :flower2:

...I just feel like I'm an afterthought. But then she goes and asks for my opinion on decorations and asks for suggestions on other things. I just don't know.

It sounds to me like she's just navigating something that she's never done before and doesn't know the "rules", so she's figuring them out as she goes. For the moment, just embrace it and enjoy the time together. :goodvibes

My mom used to say that, too, and I said it to DS. I love it!
