Such pretty greenery, Lynn. Yuck to poison ivy! Be careful of that for sure. You rest now!

It would be if they were 4 feet tall like she's supposed to keep them, and not sticking 5 feet over into our yard! :( And the trees don't belong in hedges..nor does the honeysuckle or the poison ivy. There is also a telephone pole in there somewhere,,and her electric wires are right above the right hand side of them..and now that 'tree' is tangled up in it. I kind of hope it pulls down her electric wire,,then they will HAVE to do something about cutting them down or getting rid of them!

Eye drops - use to have prescription Patadyl. Now they are over the counter . Zaditador a little orange box is also great for alergies

Hawaiian shirt , my teen boys love wearing them out to a nice dinner instead of a polo shirt . Amazon has great prices and got a few at Kohl’s. Your grandson looks adorable

Phillies purse - I love Dooney and Burkes. I actually have several Disney ones bought as presents for me, they hold up well and you’re right a large size like that would be around $300, good find. Have fun at the game. I ‘m watching Seatle and Cleveland play right now. The Indians came back at the bottom of the 9th going into extra innings. Hoping to actually attend a game July 4th weekend. It’s been a few years since I have seen a game in person

That was the prescription drops I used. They have been hard to find over the counter. I did see them on Amazon but I'll look again this week in the stores.

Thanks, I think he's pretty cute too. I do love the look of a nice Hawaiin shirt and it fit the theme.

I never really got into handbags that much. I always had backpacks of various sizes or shoved things in a pocket. I knew that was a great but and I debated it but my daughter and husband convinced me to get it. It will be nice for the game. I just don't go for designer that often because I tend to be cheap as my daughter says. My husband watched the Phillies/Yankees game and the Phillies blew a nice lead but came back to win in the 10th inning. They have an unreliable bullpen. I hope we get a win for LJ's 1st game. I did make a nice poster for the game. They are hoping he gets on TV.

Have a nice evening everyone

High school baseball playoffs have been going on the last week or two. Both of our two high school teams, Rockwall and Rockwall Heath, were in the running and actually played against each other for one of the earlier titles last week. Heath won the best of three games and moved on towards state. After playing a couple more games, they played for the state title today and won! Yay! DD went to Heath and DS went to Rockwall so I would have been happy for either to win.

Today is our 40th anniversary. DH and I haven't planned anything yet. We usually go out to some expensive restaurant for dinner. I had had hopes of an Alaskan Cruise but that's not going to happen. So I had set out some boneless pork chops for grilling earlier today, then when they looked thawed out I placed them in the fridge. DH looked at them about 6:00 and said that they were still frozen. :confused3 So went went out to dinner and had fried catfish and shrimp (my WW points are in the negative :scratchin). When we drove up to the house afterwards, DH says to me "Well, that's our anniversary dinner" to which I quickly replied "No, it's not, we're going somewhere expensive!" I think that I shocked him with my quick reply. He did sent me those beautiful flowers but I've gotten used to spending some bucks on an anniversary dinner where I feel special. We'll plan something over the next month or so. We've never been ones to have to celebrate on the exact date.

Have a good evening all!

Good Sunday morning all! @Kirby,,happy belated anniversary, by a few hours! il_794xN.1685062699_2voa.jpg

Its foggy out, 64 degrees and muggy. Doesn't look like we had any rain overnite, even though they said we would have storms. Calling for rain/storms all day with a high of 76. I hope it does rain,,if not, I have to go out and weedwack. Was too tired and overheated for me to do it yesterday after mowing.

I took a long relaxing bath, did my hair, and we watched some tv. We were both in bed sound asleep by 10.

Going to make country style ribs for dinner tonite, just have to decide if I want to make potato salad or find a different side to go with it.
Have a nice morning everyone!

I know my morning picture doesn't say Happy Sunday, but I came across this picture yesterday and loved it, and decided to share it with y'all today!

Good Morning everyone.

@Kirby Congrats on 40 years. Mine is coming up and we had hoped for an Alaskan cruise also. It was postponed til next year.

My daughter and family are on their way to Orlando but no Disney other than a water park. They are going to Gatorland today. She asked the boys if they would try Gator as a food and they said yes. Her boys are adventurous eaters.

Today is a bittersweet one for me. I lost my grandmother 19 years ago today and while she lived a long life, dying just shy of her 95th birthday, she had suffered a bit at the end after suffering a massive stroke. My Gram was the world to me. When I wanted jeans like all the other kids and my parents said NO, she got them for me. She took me to the shore every summer for up to a weeks vacation. As I type this the words are blurring as the tears start again. I have always said if I can be 1/10th the grandmother to my grandkids that she was to me, I'll be happy. I truly knew unconditional love from her. Today I'll make a happy memory with LJ at the ball game and hopefully many more to come.

This is Gram and I on my wedding day almost 40 years ago

Ignore my hair and dress, I still hate them. The hair had 4 cans of hairspray and still came loose, I got it cut the day we came home from our honeymoon. I had no choice in my dress, my mother decided what it would be.

I hope everyone has a great day and we have nice weather and no rain for the game.

Happy anniversary @Kirby! Forty years...wow! I was just 11 when you married...:teeth:

Woot on D&B @tazdev3225, even though it's for the wrong team..... (I like the D-backs, DH the Rockies) Here, we have a minor league team (the Jumbo Shrimp... Mascot: Scampi). It's fun to go to those games; they tend to be short and have all sorts of quirky things going on.

Oh, @lynxstch, I hate neighbors who aren't courteous about their property! Yes, it's their property, but it should in no way impact yours! DH and DS are allergic to poison ivy too, and although I'm not allergic, I have a strong skin reaction because it 'inflames' my psoriasis.

It's been a whirlwind madhouse here. Friday, I drove down to Orlando to pick up DD#2's family, then we drove home. Stopped at Buc-ee's in Daytona (my first time), where I managed to spend $50 on a mug for DD#2, candy, a turkey sandwich, and some spiced nuts for DH. :rotfl2: Then we spent some time at home. DD#2 and I went to Target and Publix for things she wanted, and then watched the new Conjuring movie. (meh as a scary movie) Yesterday, SOiL, DD and I ended up at Target (again), Kohls, and the Fresh Market; played Munchkin (all of us) and then we watched part of The Nun. (not scary, good though). Both days we left GS#2 with DH and DS. Today is another busy day for DD and SoIL, as they are going to get tattoos worked on, then going to see his family; we are keeping GS#2 with us. Next week, they are spending half the days at her BFF's house (she's due with her 1st in 10 weeks), while DH is at work, so I'll have some quiet time, lol.

Oh, and I'm down another 3 lbs, for a total of 14.3 since May 18th! I'm at 11% of my goal already.

((huggles)) and thoughts to those who need or want them.

Have a great day!

Just stopping in quickly before we head to my MIL's to visit for the day. I will return PMs and emails in the next day or two.

@Kirby, Congratulations and Happy 40th Anniversary!
@tazdev3225, that is a beautiful photo! I was very close to my grandparents as well, I grew up with them. My grandfather was my only "dad" and I still get upset when it gets close to Christmas, as he passed on Christmas Eve 1998. Big  to you.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! On Friday morning, my mom and I went to Kohl's and I spent too much, as usual. I got several new shirts and all but one of them were a size smaller than usual! I was surprised that the Croft and Barrow one, the brand which I find runs small and I have to go a size up - that one I had to go two sizes down! I'm very happy with that! I also bought a new quilt for our bedroom; we currently have a 14-year-old black-and-white toile one, but our cat sleeps on our bed and the entire center of it has turned yellow. Even Oxi won't remove the discoloration. So I found a nice teal one that was 50% off and I had a coupon for 30%, so it was only $42 down from $120.

I also redid my nails - this time I chose the Cape Coral strips:

Cape Coral copy.jpg

Josh enjoyed his school's "Fun Day" on Friday. I joked about him wearing a dress instead of a t-shirt. I wasn't sure if a size 5 would be an XS or S, as I've found it could go either way, so I ordered the S just in case. It practically covered his shorts. It might fit him by the time he gets to middle school ;)

Yesterday morning it was raining, so the Little League canceled photos and games for the tee ball division. They will retake photos on closing day, the 26th. This would have been Josh's last game as well, but our coach and the other team's coach decided to have a remake game this Thursday evening. Unfortunately Josh can't go, as that is gymnastics night.

DH decided to put the old 1950s dining table (that we've had in the garage for 7 years - and had been in storage for at least 10 years prior to that) out on the curb for free. I put a post on the town open forum, figuring that the vultures there would be all over it. I'm surprised that it's still there this morning. I think my post got buried. We have an old TV stand at my MIL's house that we'll be bringing home today, though, and since nobody would buy it at our tag sales for $5 and then $3, I think I will just add it and bump the post.

To add a book that I recently read and loved - The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi. Not my usual sci-fi/fantasy. Very well-written and engaging.

It is - you are so right! BUT I'm the mom who didn't buy yearly school photos either, so maybe I'm not the best example!! Do you have to purchase the photos? I'm trying to think WAY back to when our kids were little and I don't think it was in anyway a mandatory thing. They make parents feel like they have to or it's such a precious memory that you'll need to have it, when in reality you'll have a tub full of photos and plenty of memories of the same kid playing the same sport anyway!

I don't really have to purchase the photos, which is why I try to get the digital file so I can print my own. I did want the 4 3x5s, though, as that is one for each family unit (us, MIL, and 2 sets of aunts/uncles). And the team photo would be nice to have. I didn't get that one when he played soccer 2 years ago, because I figured we really didn't know any of the other kids. I did take my own photo off to the side when the professional was taking it, but everyone was looking in another direction.
That made me think of a QOTD:--Do you get the paper delivered anymore, or just read it digitally? And do you have or get many magazine subscriptions?

I get the tv guide magazine, hubby ordered me the Country magazine, and I get the All Recipes one (just because I got it free with survey 'pay outs'

The only paper we get is our regional one. Just for the towns in our area. We canceled the Hartford Courant years ago - it wasn't relevant anymore and it cost too much. Half the time we didn't even get our Sunday ads. We don't read it online either. We'd have to pay for that, too.

The only magazine I get is HGTV. Josh gets High Five by Highlights - which reminds me, we need to let my MIL know that he's ready for the actual Highlights magazine, when she renews at Christmas - and Lego Life (which is free). My mom still gets Taste of Home. I do pick up the free ones that stores sometimes offer - I always grab the "Savory" magazine at Stop and Shop, and I like one called "Go Local." I wish I could subscribe to it, but it's pick-up only :(

Sounds cute! And reminds of something I saw this time last year - you get an adult size shirt, write "Class of ___" (whatever year he graduates) and take a pic of him at the end of every school year as he grows into it.

I remember getting Highlights as a kid!

How did Josh sign up for the Lego Life one? I bet the twins would love it!

They get one now called "The Week Junior" that's really good as well. We kind of pick and choose what we read in it, because some of it is still a little old for them, but I do like it.

Happy Belated 40th Anniversary, Kirby to you and your DH!

A Mickey picture is always a good way to begin a day, Lynn ::MickeyMo

Happy upcoming Anniversary to you, Taz Dev. Big hug, my friend on your Grandma. God Bless you for carrying on her kind legacy with your own grandchildren!

You’ve been a busy shopper, B&B! So glad you got to see your grandkids :)

Always good to see you posting, Apirateslifeforme. Glad Josh had fun on Fun Day, as he should have! Like your nails :)I also liked Highlights as a kid.

Summer is definitely in the air at last :sunny:It's so wonderful to not be cold all the time :) Soon, I'll switch out my jersey sheets for lighter ones. Still need to find some lightweight PJ pants. Even these are so hard to find right now! I just want simple, thin waist (no thick or big elastic-y band) and open bottom but not super wide legs like the choice Target has that Dad showed me the other day. Kmart used to have a good selection as did Kohl's and places like Marshalls and Burlington Coat Factory. I will certainly never take (in general with so many items) being able to easily find needed anything again in stores or online,

I will watch Sunday worship a little later :)

Hugs to all.

Good morning.

Back home from church. Not much planned for today. We need to practice dancing before our lesson tomorrow.

@TazDev, I think you looked beautiful in your wedding picture. And such a nice picture with your grandmother.

I'm down another 3 lbs,
:cool1: :cheer2:Great job!

On Friday morning, my mom and I went to Kohl's
DH and I went Friday just to look at new suitcase for him. His is 20 years old and he wanted a hard side like mine. The one he liked was 50% off and I had another 15% off for using my Kohl's card and then got $20 in Kohls cash so a pretty good deal that we couldn't pass up. Now we have to go somewhere to try it out.

I also redid my nails
They look nice. I had gotten Jamberry nails wraps some years ago. I had such trouble applying them but they did look nice once on. Maybe I'll try again. I googled them and they went out of business.

I can't remember who mentioned it, but I put chicken breast in pickle juice last night to grill today. I hope it works out.

I managed to get almost all of the weedwacking done, except for part of the bank, will do that tomorrow. Just as I was almost done, it started thundering and then the rain came down. Poured for about half an hour. Then cleared up a bit..now is getting dark and raining again. I am done for the day..no more chores except cooking dinner. I am going to have lunch, take a nap, watch a movie, and make dinner. That will be the extent of my day.

@flyingdumbo127,,glad that it's finally warming up there. I always think of Los Angelas as being summer weather most of the time,,guess that isn't the case?

@apirateslifeforme--glad to see you posting too..glad to hear Josh is done with school, now he has the summer to play

@lovemygoofy--Tina I hope all is well with you and Matt,,you haven't posted in a long time. Stop by and say hi when you have a minute!

Looks like it's going to pour again, but there is a breeze blowing and you can feel the humidity leaving. Guess the cool front is finally coming through. I went through the garden, and retied all the tomato plants which are finally growing..even have flowers on 8 of the plants. Zucchini, squash and cukes are all coming up nicely..the rain and sun this week helped. Ribs are almost done cooking..made a salad and cooked a small zucchini to go with it. Took a 20 minute nap while he was watching his Vikings episode..boring, lol
Have a nice evening everyone

Thank you everyone! Forty years have flown by.

@TazDev, that is such a sweet picture of you and your grandmother. You looked beautiful!

@Bianca and Bernard, congrats on your weight loss!

@apirateslifeforme, I love to score at Kohls. Love your Color Street nail color. I have The Henna Artist in my book stack waiting for me to read. Maybe I'll pick it up soon.

Whew! It's hot outside! Forecast for the 90's all week with a possible break next weekend in the 80's. It wouldn't be too bad if the heat index wasn't in the low 100's. It's a little hard to adjust, it's like we went from 70 to 90 overnight, what happened to the 80's?

I got my designated chore for the weekend done. DH had three shelves full of outdated OTC and prescription meds. Filled up a Kroger grocery sack. I now have four sacks of outdated meds to turn in to Walgreens.

Dinner today was grilled pork chops, roasted brussel sprouts and mac & cheese.

Attended a beautiful wedding and reception for a young couple from our church. I have known the young man since he was about 9 years old when his parents came as the children and youth pastor's of the small church we were attending at the time. It was a blessing to be invited to a wedding where we were honestly wanted to be there and not because if we were not people would question where we were unlike a relative's wedding this same day a number of years ago. It is such a joy to have happy memories of this day to be able to look back in the future.
It was also a blessing to know that life does go on after DH and I attended the service for our former pastor's wife's baby sister of 16 children yesterday. I knew that our families friendship went way back but I did not realize that it went back so far that DH's uncle and his family would load up the 9 passenger van to go and pick up some of the older children in the family to bring them to the church that his uncle pastored at. Later my inlaws would bring the younger ones including the sister who passed away to church services with them as my inlaws lived next door to the family at the house they refere to as the river house because it was along the river. Sadly neither house is no longer as they were bought out by the refinery back in the mid 90s and only the neighbors who lived on the other side of my inlaws remain though the refinary has tried to buy them out as well.
It was a beautiful service and it was nice to see my inlaws as well as we had not seen them since Easter. DH's sister was not happy that I was there and you could tell it on her face but she knew better than to make a scene because one we were in the church and there were too many witnesses including several relatives. The only other person not happy to see me was the person in the old church who was not happy that the former pastor had named me as the nursery director instead of his drug abusing daughter and who worked hard to have me removed from the position when former pastor retired and the current pastor took over. The family was glad that DH and I came though we were asked where in particular 16 year old was by the pastor's wife's sister who passed 12 year old daughter as well as where both girls were by my mother in law. Due to her special needs 13 year old would not have been able to handle a funeral service well so we had 16 year old watch her at home and just let mother in law know that my folks had gone out of town to visit my dad's younger older sister.
Instead of tossing the bridal bouguet and the garter the couple did the shoe game where they sat back to back each with one of their own shoes and one of their partner's shoes while questions were read like who has the most speeding tickets. It was him to which his mom went because of being late to church. She was voted as the most careful driver though wonder why.
I don't get the newspaper delivered because while we did get it for a while in the rental we lived at prior to our moving to our current house in January 2009 it was always late. We were supposed to have the paper by 6 am and often would get up at 7:30 am to find no paper. When we would call the office we would get the run around yet when I was delivering the paper years ago I was fined many time because I had one **** of a customer who would call if his paper was not there by 5:15 am and back then it was a 7 am delivery time for the paper. When I reminded DH of that he said no to renewing the subscription. My parents got the paper for a while daily and then just the Sunday paper but when it started not even being delivered by 11 am and my dad would get the constant well too bad we will bring you two copies next week he deciced it was cheeper to get it at the dollar store when he went to town for breakfast with his cousin. Not to mention the price of a Sunday paper is 2.50 for subscription or getting it from a stand or another store. I get my local news by reading articles from the two local tv news stations, a lot of my international news by watching international stations, and national news by checking a variety of sources so I am getting a balanced view. I tend to stick more with neutral view sources with a few of the lean right and lean left sources thrown in. I rarely if ever go to the extreme right or left sources and if I do I will seek out a source from the other extreme point of view in order to make sure I am getting a balanced point of view on an issue. I also prefere sites that give what their sources are on issues including links to the sites of those who are interviewed as experts on different topics.
The only magazines we currently get in the mail are our copy of Rural Montana which is put out by the electrical co-op association with an insert in the middle specifically for our local co-op that I have yet to find our account number hidden amoung the various articles or the recipe that is usually in there. If you find your account number and call the office before the deadline which is usually the 15th of the month you get a small amount off your next bill. It's not more than $25 but it is something. I also get practical homeschooling every month
