Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good Morning, Everyone,

Many :dog2: prayers, Easyas and also healing to Anthony. Taz Dev. Just hugs :grouphug: to each of you, special friends :)

Dad's remaining Father's Day surprises will be coming through the mail today. I wish Amazon and other places would be upfront when before you place an order (I do realize that may not always be known) about how it will be delivered. Target and Michaels today that originated via UPS shipping have been transferred to the PO for final delivery. I am grateful we do seem to have q regular carrier again who is always kind to both knock and ring the doorbell when we have a package :)

Hooray for kids being done with school. Prayers they (and families) better get to enjoy this summer :sunny:

Have a great Thursday!

Thank you for all the welcome messages!!!!

The spaghetti dish looks amazing and I will definitely have try this. I still have 2 sons living at home. The older one is looking to move out soon, he wouldn't eat that with all those vegi's and no meat. My younger one on the other hand, would love this. It will be a dish we'll try after he moves out. I always feel bad if I make something that one of them doesn't like and they get stuck with a frozen dinner. I'll be bringing home some type of carry-out tonight. By the time I get off of work, get my haircut and I'm doing a deodorant product study so I have to go there, I won't be in the mood to make dinner. I hate to cook so any way of getting out of it I'll take it!

Still doing the "will it rain or won't it" for the 4th day this week. Sky looked okay yesterday so I went out for a walk. I should have known it was going to rain while I was walking >:( , so my walk was cut short.

Have a good day!

Its just now starting to rain, clouds have been moving in all morning. Temp is currently 73.

Just ran out to Ollies and picked up 2 'end tables', same ones I have been looking at on Amazon, were $180 each , and they were on sale at Ollies for $79.99 each and I had a 20% off coupon. I called and she said they only had about 10 of them. I got there and there were 6, but 2 of the boxes were smashed in the corners. And these are assembled already, which is a plus. Everyone must have been trying to use their coupons before Sunday,,the store was packed, 5 registers open and lines in every one of them.
Now we can get rid of my hubby's odd, mismatched tables he found at a yard sale before I came onto the scene. All we need now is a new coffee table and the living room will be done except for painting.

Have a nice afternoon all

It's such a racket, though...$50 for a sheet of 4 3"x5"s, a team photo, and the digital image

It is - you are so right! BUT I'm the mom who didn't buy yearly school photos either, so maybe I'm not the best example!! Do you have to purchase the photos? I'm trying to think WAY back to when our kids were little and I don't think it was in anyway a mandatory thing. They make parents feel like they have to or it's such a precious memory that you'll need to have it, when in reality you'll have a tub full of photos and plenty of memories of the same kid playing the same sport anyway!

He's in a boot for 6-8 weeks and is just miserable

That stinks, I hope it doesn't put to much of a damper on his summertime (besides missing baseball) fun and he gets it off soon.

get my haircut

:wave2: I have a haircut appointment next Monday afternoon and I'm really contemplating whacking it off, or a majority of it at least. I keep going back & forth. I'll make my final decision when I'm sitting in the chair haha!

Still doing the "will it rain or won't it" for the 4th day this week

I'm in my office listening to the thunder off in the distance. No rain yet, but I have high hopes. We need it. I told my husband last night we need one of those slow, soaking 12-24 hour light rains.

Have a nice afternoon all

You as well!

UGH! Well, that chore is over and boy am I glad it is! Long story short, Ladd didn't bite anyone, but did have a bit of a meltdown wherein the vet read the writing on the wall and promptly sedated him...after 5 minutes of wrestling and a bent needle he was down for the count! The vet - well she was wonderful with him, and so understanding of the situation, I couldn't have been more pleased (and relieved) by the outcome. He did wake a bit from his sedation and have a go at the vet when she tried to clip his nails, but she stopped and he went back down. Even stayed still for the bloodwork. He had a lot of tests done and a few routine vaccines he was due for. Bloodwork and test came back good, and he's healthy and good to go. And we got him weighed & they sent us home with a sedation protocol for either his next appt. or in case of emergency and we have to bring him in.
Next up - we need to take the Big Guy in who has a different set of issues, mostly being very timid and afraid.

And...there's the rain! Coming down hard all the sudden. I just heard my nephew cuss and run out of the shop, so I suspect he had his windows down:rotfl2:

Dinner this evening was supposed to be meatball subs, but we ended up just having the meatballs for lunch so instead I'm marinating chicken thighs in a jar of dill pickles and will grill them. First time using it as a marinade, although I have made crockpot roasts with just tossing in a jar of dill pickles. I got the idea from reading one of the copy cat recipes about Chick Fil A chicken and how that is what they marinate in. Figured it was worth a try. We will see how it turns out.

Good afternoon.

Cooler today, only 82. AC off and windows open with fans running I kind of like hearing the cicadas. I don't like being dive bombed but otherwise am fascinated with them.

A little peeved today. There was a partial "ring of fire" solar eclipse this morning early at sunrise. I had no idea or I would have set the alarm to get up and see it. I am intrigued by all things science like this. I drove to the DE beach to meet DS there the last solar eclipse a few years back, so that we could share glasses. And I am planning to go to the path of the total solar eclipse in 2024. Oh well.

I had an appointment with a dermatologist this morning. I had never been to this office. I had a couple of spots I wanted checked out. I was very happy with the office and the PA I saw. She did a total body screen, which I should have had earlier in life. (Both of my kids have.) She froze off three spots and drained a little cyst. No cancer concerns and I go back in a year. Amazing the medical things I am taking care of now that I have insurance that pays for things.

QOTD- There should be some with DGD but I can't think of any right now.

One from DS when he was about 5. Easter morning, after opening his basket which included a children's Bible, we went to church. We were in the elevator when one of the pastors got in. She asked DS what he got in his basket. DS responded in his most disgusted voice, "a Bible."

And one with DD when she was in first grade. We planned a trip to WDW in October. Cleared it with the principal Mr. Catron and her teacher Mrs. Keene but weren't telling the kids until just before we went. The last day of school, we told her so she could bring home work to do. When we told her we were going and would be missing school, she said "I can't go. I don't think Mr. Catron and Mrs. Keene will let me."

Anthony saw the orthopedist and he has a fracture in the growth plate
Speaking as a physical therapist, you don't mess with growth plates in someone still growing. I feel for Anthony but this isn't something to mess with.

I just heard my nephew cuss and run out of the shop, so I suspect he had his windows down
:rotfl2: This made me LOL.

Nice to see a few extra posts. Not “nice” to see the bigger ad banner (Ads by Google) popping up at the bottom of the page again. One vanishes before a new one takes its place :P

Waving hi Footballmouse, so glad you stopped by again :) I’m sorry you got wet on your walk. I hope you have get a good haircut! I sure look forward to one day being able to get my own haircut.

Good shopping, Lynn! Glad it’s a little cooler out there today for you, too, my friend.

Easyas, hug and I’m so glad Ladd is done at the vet for today! Have a good dinner and I also hope you will be please with your own upcoming haircut.

Hug to you Carol and praise God! Good news indeed, my friend.

I know and I appreciate that. He has just started puberty and grew 5-6 inches since school started in September. He's 13 and already 5' 6". His dad is 6' 5" so he has some growing to do. His dad's whole family is very tall, even his other grandmother is 5' 9". I expect Anthony to get over 6 feet. I did do some googling and depending on the area it can be a simple boot for 6-8 weeks, which is what the doctor is leaning towards so we are hopeful. I did tell my daughter that we should get him a good support brace for when he first starts playing again just for the little extra support. I just feel so bad for him. Last year's season was a washout with Covid. He had some shoulder issues when this season started, then they all had the virus and now this. He is just so miserable but I do want him to heal and not have issues as he gets older. Thankfully he is young and heals quickly. It's hard as his grandparent to see him so sad.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Just started dumping down rain. Sky is almost pitch black and scary looking, but it shut the bugs up quickly, lol. As long as we don't get the 2-4" of rain they say we might, it will be good for everything to get watered.

Just unpacked the new end tables..they are really nice! All assembled, except to put the pegs inside for the drawer to sit on and to put the door knob on. Put all the trash out in the shed, there was a lot of it,,they had corner protectors, cardboard, foam, packing insulation etc. They look so nice. I like the fact that they have a power strip built into them, and 2 plugs for lights or whatever in a little drawer on the back you just press to open. There is also a USB plug/port there for charging your phones. Good deal for the price for sure. Going to contact the same company and see if they make a matching coffee table.

Dinner is going to be chicken tenders, fries, and a side salad

@easyas123 glad your furbaby made out well

@Breezy_Carol..it's not less muggy here..it's really sticky outside and the ac is staying on till at least tomorrow morning, when it may get a break if we only get to 66 degrees, lol.

Just stopping by to catch up with everyone. Busy week so far. Sending thoughts and prayers to everyone.

The spaghetti dish looks delicious. I will definitely make that in the near future. I love new recipes that are easy and tasty.

It is finally cool here, around 70. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit cooler. I am so glad it will be Friday.

QOTD: My favorite summer fruits are raspberries, strawberries, cherries, and peaches.

QOTD: Funny kid stories. I am sure my kids had alot but I can't remember right now. Not really a story but funny. Younger DS's kids were over for dinner. DH said something that was incorrect and I told him what really happened. He started to argue a bit. Older DGD said, Grandpa, Nana is always right. I love that child! :cutie:

Have a nice evening.

Dinner was chili and salad. I made a big pot of chili so can freeze 3 or 4 more meals.

Still no rain here. DH watered all the new bushes and plants out front and they look perkier.

@easyas123, I'm glad you and Ladd survived the vet visit.

@lynxstch, those bedside tables sound very functional. I'd love to see a picture.

Planning to watch the Hallmark Movie "You Had Me at Aloha" tonight as it looked good and I couldn't watch Saturday.

We are using them as end tables in the living room as they were exactly the size we needed-- the pic I took isn't great,,but it will give you the idea of what they look like --never lets me put them right side up..sorry!--ignore the cord on the rug,,I was checking to make sure the USB plug worked..it did..lol!

I should be headed to bed but I just can't seem to get there much before midnight these days.

DH doesn't seem to have any side effects from his second Pfizer vaccine except some vertigo last night so I'm happy about that.

I had to water my flower beds for the first time in months. There are still wet spots out there, I imagine it will be another day or two before they dry up.

There were small ponies in our front yard this morning. DH herded them into our neighbors field next door to wait for animal control but they escaped and ended up over at a school about a mile away before they were caught.

Good night all!

Good rainy Friday morning Quackers! We got rain overnite, but not the heavy rains, thankfully. Just a nice , light, steady rain. Misting outside now, but calling for rain most of the day. Temp is 68 and feels very muggy and sticky, so the ac is staying on.

Might do laundry today, might not. Back is a little stiff and achey, guess from the rain and moving the boxes with those tables yesterday.

We have a new newspaper carrier (they have to drive the route, it's a LONG one. At least she is bringing the paper early..she was here at 4:15 this morning. Papers are supposed to be delivered by 6 am. The other carrier was getting later and later, like 9 am. Makes hubby happy, and I don't have to print him out the puzzle. I look at the front page of the paper and that's as far as it goes. They are always 2 days late with news anyhow, lol.
That made me think of a QOTD:--Do you get the paper delivered anymore, or just read it digitally? And do you have or get many magazine subscriptions?

I get the tv guide magazine, hubby ordered me the Country magazine, and I get the All Recipes one (just because I got it free with survey 'pay outs'

No plans for the day. All my cleaning is done, not enough laundry to bother with, and I don't feel like doing any cleaning anyways, lol!

Have a good day!

Good morning everyone.

Today is my son's 39th Birthday. I am sitting here wondering where the time went. It seems like yesterday I was thrilled that after being a month overdue he would finally be here. Back then we didn't have ultrasounds so we were still debating boy or girl. He was a difficult pregnancy, a month overdue and a difficult labor and was a difficult child at times. He was also a joy to watch grow up and turn into a man at the age of 16. He grew into his role as a father. He made some BIG mistakes with Jay but he was there for him and never once ran from his responsibilities. I wouldn't trade a single day for anything. And he is getting old, I am not. LOL

Ben "graduates" from kindergarten today so I will go there for him and then laundry. Not much going on today at all.

Good morning.

Nice gentle steady rain. Figures we finally watered all the new plants yesterday. And so much cooler, only 61.

We are using them as end tables in the living room
They look nice. I like how they have the power sources in them.

There were small ponies in our front yard this morning.
First I thought this said peonies. Glad your husband corralled them, or at least tried.

QOTD:--Do you get the paper delivered anymore, or just read it digitally? And do you have or get many magazine subscriptions?
We get the local paper, the Cecil Whig, delivered. It only comes Wednesday and Friday and comes in the mail now, so sometimes we don't get it until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It has gotten so expensive that we may not renew. We get the digital subscriptions to the Baltimore Sun, the Washington Post, and the Wilmington News Journal if they have a good promotion on. No magazine subscriptions. I joined AARP for the discounts and when their multiple mailings come, they go straight to recycling.

No plans for the day. All my cleaning is done, not enough laundry to bother with, and I don't feel like doing any cleaning anyways, lol!
I quoted this to see if you stick to it. I know you can't be idle.

And he is getting old, I am not. LOL
That's the way it works here too.

LOL I an going to try really hard to be idle~~~

That's the way it works here too.

Stopping by quickly to say Good Morning and how much I loved your Pooh picture this morning, Lynn :)

Wishing all of you a bright Friday with joy! It's starting to feel a little more like summer is really on the way, I hope, lol :)

That made me think of a QOTD:--Do you get the paper delivered anymore, or just read it digitally? And do you have or get many magazine subscriptions? Dad gets the LA Times along with some classical music magazines. I no longer subscribe to any magazines perhaps one day in the future. I prefer to read books 📖

Prayers extra please this morning for my Dad. Thank you, friends so much. I did get the last of his Father's Day surprises yesterday. That will be fun to put altogether :) Thanks again Pea for your picture help!

Friday hug to all.

Good morning!

I love those end tables!!!! The charging port would be a game changer for me.

Successful haircut last night, I've been going to the same person since I was in high school (I'm 52 now). Couldn't imagine anyone else cutting my hair. I also moved on to the final phase of the deodorant study which means I will get the full payment. Saving up the money that I've been making on these studies to put towards some kitchen repairs.

Stopped at Chicken Salad Chick last night for dinner, love that place. Just ran to the grocery store since, once again, they are calling for rain in the afternoon. Hopefully my son will be willing to grilling the season chicken breast that I bought. I can't grill to save my life.

Not much planned for the day. Getting off of work at 3:30 today so maybe I'll run to Sam's later today.

Have a good day!!! :)
