:hug:Lynn, feel better please!

The Hallmark movie about the firefighter called Second Chances that I recently enjoyed is re-airing a week from tomorrow at 6pm my time. I know some of us have given up for now (I pretty much have. I'm so tired of them lately 80%+ of the time showing non movies though I guess that's no different than how they previously kept cycling through the same movies :P) on Hallmark channel for now. I did just Googled and found that Hallmark Summer movies begin on June 5th. Out of all of them, at first glance, Sand Dollar Cove sounds the most promising to me. Maybe lol. Have any of you read the book the movie is based on. Same name by Nancy Naigle?

All of you have a good night! :)

BTW,,our crepe myrtles aren't pink and white, they are purplish, so there must be a few different varieties.
There are a lot of varieties of Crepe Myrtles. I have white, pink and red in my yard. I would love to have some lavender and dark pink too. We get about two to three blooming times out of them. White usually starts blooming first for some reason.

QOTD - Do you like to do puzzles?

I enjoy jigsaw puzzles. My favorite size is 300 pieces but I'd go up to 500 if I had the space.

Today was the last day of preschool. Lil Joe had preschool graduation tonight, cap and gown and everything. He was so excited!

Dinner tonight was Schlotsky's. Haven't had them in a while. They make a good sandwich.

Good morning all..Friday finally! 39 degrees out, going to upper 60's. Whatever muscle I pulled (I think it was a groin one?) feels much better this morning. I massaged it and I 'pinched' it and I found a comfy position to sleep in so it barely hurts. I actually even slept till 4:35..that's late for me , lol. I am going to take it easy on it today and not try to till the garden until tomorrow.

@Kirby, our crepe myrtles are like a cross between a dark lavender and a bright pink..hard to describe. If I think of it I will take a pic when they bloom. Ours only bloom once a year, guess it's because of where we live. How sweet that Lil Joe had preschool graduation,,must have been so cute to see. I wish we had a Schlotsky's around here, I have never tried them, but I hear they are really good.

@flyingdumbo127--Mona..I am one who has pretty much given up on Hallmark movies till Fall, or at least until all of our other shows have had season finales. Lots of them are doing them this week and next week, so maybe I will have time to start watching them again soon. I figure I am not missing much anyhow..they are pretty much all the same. Sand Dollar Cove does sound interesting though. Hubby is excited that Good Witch starts again Sunday, no idea why, but he loves that show, lol!

Have a nice morning everyone..

Good morning, all!

Had a minutes to pop on before leaving for the school day. It's sunny and bright this morning, so should be a nice drive. The kids had T-ball practice last night, so I'm looking forward to hearing about that too.

Next week we are having DEAR (drop everything and read) week in our little classroom. Did anyone do that in your own school days? I'd love to share memories with them!

I dusted and vaccumed our bedroom and thought I was done. Then I find out that hubby banged his toe on the door in the spare room last nite,,and left blood spots going through there, into the bathroom, then into the dining room. Grrr..now I have the carpet cleaner out again, after I pretreated the spots. I am planning on going out today..Weis, Lowes, anywhere..too nice to stay in..and I don't feel like tilling the garden or doing any other yard work!

No jury duty today, woohoo! No jurors were needed. Makes my day a lot easier, lol.

I had such a bad headache yesterday, and my sinuses have been acting up so bad, I ended up taking an allergy pill (well, half of one, as they are TOO strong if I take a full 5mg dose, and I don't want to waste them). It knocked me for a loop about 9pm; went to bed and woke up at 1am. Couldn't get comfortable with all the drainage, so I went and laid on the couch, and fell back asleep until 8am. Going to have to take another half pill today, and probably for the next week or so (at least). We didn't walk yesterday, because I felt so bad...but I'm up to 2 miles without struggling. Today we have to walk.

I don't watch the Hallmark movies, sorry. I tend to watch either comedy, action (blow 'em up!), or fantasy/sci fi. Same with tv shows, add in cop/medical shows; I will watch a murder show occasionally.

Got up this morning, and did not have coffee or tea. Lots of water today; and I'll reward myself with a soda later.

Well, that is all I have going in my little world. Made crab cakes and pasta primavera yesterday for lunch. I planned on ordering lunch today, because I thought I had JD. I'm either ordering pizza or 5 Guys, depending on DH.

🐣 Tough week. Working it through. I feel like people are extra antsy these days with so much heartache in our world right now and coming out of Covid, etc. Drivers are going nuts. People are short with eachother. Trying to keep things nice.

Happy Belated Birthday, @flyingdumbo127! :flower3: Enjoyed your pictures!

Good thoughts for @easyas123 in finding gas on their trip!

QOTD Puzzles. I am not a puzzle person, but DD and her boyfriend have been doing them and framing them (for their family room some day, they say). They’re cute. But they’ve had at least one with one piece missing! Company did send another puzzle pretty quickly that had the right piece (but it took them a while to find it). Seeing them do puzzles I was trying to figure out why we never really did, and I think it was because with German Shepherds, one swoop of the tail would wipe anything on a coffee table right out! (Like to relax in a living or family room, not at a kitchen table.)

Speaking of dogs, I had another disappointment getting a rescue this week. Told me the dog was still available, but she wasn’t. Am learning not to get my hopes up.

At least I am off this weekend. DD is working and DS is away. DH and I are hoping to have a nice dinner out and maybe hit the yard sale circuit, for fun. TGIF!!

Good Morning All :)

Aw, congratulations to Lil Joe, Kirby! Proud of him from afar :) I do remember putting together a few preschool graduations as both a director and teacher. The kids are adorable!

I'm fed up with Hallmark myself, Lynn! I truly do not understand why (with so many years of movies) the scheduling can't be a little more creative! Although I've also noticed on HGTV for example, the same (that are already on Demand and have been for years) episodes of Love it or List it for example, are the episodes that keep being re-aired during the week. Makes no sense to me!

PollyannaMom, I do remember DEAR! We also had BEAR (Be excited about reading). Then there was Sustained Silent reading. Dear and Bear much cuter :) I hope the kids had fun a T-ball.

Thank you, Pea! Aw, I hope you get in some good R&R this weekend! Thank you again and always for all the care and kindness you share!

Feel better, B&B! I am glad you don't have to serve today!

Happy Friday, friends :grouphug:

Morning all.

It was a busy day yesterday. I stopped at WAWA, those on the East Coast will know the store, to get a drink and realized whilst in line to pay I left the house without my wallet and money. I don't carry a purse because I lose them. I just keep my wallet in the back pocket of my jeans. I did have 33 cents in the car but that wouldn't cover the bill. I was a little embarrassed to have to explain to one of the people working there what happened. Headed over for the food pickup which was a few blocks away. Since my house was on the way to the church I had my husband run my wallet and money out to me. Stopped at a different WAWA and then had to stop at a Parishioners house for a donation. I think people were happy to have more of a choice other than just the box.

Left the food distribution, got my car washed and vacuumed, it needed it, and then up to get a haircut. I feel so much better with the shorter hair.

Headed back to the house for a small rest and then off to Anthony's ball game. They came so close to winning, lost by only 2 runs, but this team beat them 20 - 4 last weekend so it was a moral victory. They are coming together as a team. Jay came to the game with his wife and LJ. I loved watching LJ react. He stared at the ball field as though he knew what it was. I got some great pictures. Thought I would share a couple.

Wyatt took up meditation. We have no idea where this came from.

Today is a chill and relax day, or so I thought. Wyatt has a game that I promised I would go to but now I may have to take my grandson Mikey to a school dance. Waiting on word about that but my daughter is working and can't do it. Mikey has had a hard year being all virtual so if this will help him even a little I will get him there.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning, friends! I actually have time to post again. My uncle did pass away last Monday, and my mom flew out to Illinois early this morning. The service is tomorrow. I need to send cards to my aunt and cousin; I'm just not sure what to write in them. I loved my uncle, of course, but he just never really had anything nice to say to me. He would always comment on how I needed to lose weight and that I looked just like my father, "and he was an ugly son-of-a-gun." I suppose I should just say I'm sorry, that I do have good memories of him and that he will be missed very much. My mom will be flying home on Monday afternoon and then that's that. I've tried to joke that the next person in this family that dies, I'll kill them ;)

And of course, on Tuesday, the day after his passing, while DH was on his way to work our car died. It's already been in for repairs 3x this year. At least he was still in town and not on the highway. My mom had to go get him, then come home, then he took her car to work. Not 90 minutes later, I get a phone call from the school nurse that Josh was in her office complaining of a headache and double/blurry vision. So I went into panic mode, thinking "stroke or concussion?" and DH is at least 30 minutes away with the ONLY car that we have available. But he made it home in record time, we picked Josh up from school, and at home, he ate his lunch and literally climbed the walls. We still took him to the doctor, who did all the tests and found nothing. We all think it was stress from everything that happened all at once. We tried to stay upbeat and positive at our latest loss, but kids that age are perceptive and we're sure he knew. He's been better since.

Some good news is that DH and I are now officially homeowners! My mother filed a quit-claim deed on the house last week, turning it over to us. In our state, if she ever needs to go into full-time nursing care, we need to have owned the house for at least 5 years or the state can take it to pay for her care. She was advised to turn it over now because she's still relatively young and unlikely to need that kind of care in the next 5 years. She did file a retained life estate as well, so she technically still owns it along with us, and if we ever want to sell, the buyers get her with it ;)

I'm still working on my new craft. It's a lot of fun!PXL_20210514_140056063.MP copy.jpgPXL_20210514_140135558.MP copy.jpgPXL_20210514_140159769.MP copy.jpg

I'm just a little disappointed in myself about the Summer one with the red crabs. I forgot to erase my pencil guidelines and sealed it before I noticed it. So I will be keeping that one! I'm thinking of making the rectangular plaques with branches of the Armed Services soon; I'm hoping to sell some at our tag sale in June so that they will be in time for the 4th of July. I'm also getting ambitious and making a pencil box for Josh's teacher for an end-of-school gift. I found paper with a school-supply print for the lid and little stickers that say "kindergarten" and such to put around the sides. I'm going to put her name on the lid and have Josh sign his name and 2021 inside the lid. I always worry if that type of thing is appropriate, though. I hear a lot of teachers say that they don't like "teacher-y" things, but I'm hoping this will be different.

I enjoy reading about everyone's flowers and trees for this year! The only thing we've done so far is plant a little heuchera in the front yard. I picked the "Toffee Tart" one (I would have liked Peachberry, but they were out of them). Right now it looks so pitiful, all alone because it's so small in the spot, but it will spread. I'd love a lilac bush - I see a LOT of the pale pink ones here and that's my favorite. Maybe next year. My mom likes to do petunias, and I'm hoping to convince her to do the Cafe Latte and Black Magic ones in the big red pot that we have. And of course, we need a hibiscus - she wanted one for Mother's Day but they're not out yet, so we owe her. Josh is looking forward to the tomatoes and peppers as well.

QOTD - Do you like to do puzzles?

DH and I both LOVE puzzles! We have quite an assortment in our closet. Some we've framed...this one is hanging on our bedroom wall:

575018

And we have this Thomas Kinkade one framed for Christmas/winter:
575021

@apirateslifeforme--so sorry about the passing of your Uncle. There sure have been a lot of 'passings' on this thread since we started :(
Glad there was nothing serious with Josh, and sorry about your car dying. Seems it all happens at once doesn't it?
I love your new craft,,and you can't see the pencil lines in the crabs from my house,,lol. You are really doing great at them! All of my lilac bushes are the lighter purple,, I would love to find a couple of the dark purple ones,,pink is pretty too, but I don't care for the white lilacs at all. Ours are already done blooming for the year :(

We went to Weis. I got some of their ecoupon items,,got a pkg of 5 chicken leg quarters for $2.10, got a box of frozen bavarian cream puffs for hubby, and got him 3 6/packs of Gold Peak Ice Tea. They had it on sale b2g1 free,,I had an e coupon for it, and a manufacturer coupon on top of that..so got it for a really good price.
Stopped at Lowes, got a big bag of potting soil, 2 sweet potato vine plants (1 black, 1 green) , 2 pots of rosemary, 4 geraniums (bright pink), 2 pots of pink/white/yellow verbena, and 2 lantana (kind of pinkish with yellow). I came home and planted everything. I put 4 wave petunia's in my little wheel barrel planter, with a dracena and the green sweet potato. I did two pots with the verbena and lantana ( mixed them together), did another big pot with the other 2 wave petunias and a dracena and the black sweet potato..and I did a HUGE pot with the 2 rosemary plants since they grow big. All of my other herbs are in little rectangular boxes , still in the greenhouse for now till it's warm enough to set them on my herb bench. All that's left to plant now is the veggie garden, and at the rate the weather is going , it might be June before it's warm enough.
We had beautiful sun this morning, temp was up to 68. Big black clouds while we were out, as soon as I got home and took everything out to plant, it started to rain. Lasted about 20 min and now it's half sun, half clouds.

Dinner is going to be chicken. Hubby is making himself cashew chicken ( I don't like it) so making myself 1 of the chicken quarters coated in shake and bake..just have to find sides to go with it

Have a nice afternoon!

Love all the pictures, Taz Dev, thank you for sharing! Cheering for Anthony ⚾ Always rooting and praying for you, my friend🌸

Apirateslifeforme, I am so sorry about your uncle and just everything your family has recently endured. Big hugs and always much care and prayer! You are so talented! I especially like the first summer with some ice cream cones and possibly also cotton candy and the sunshine decorations.

Lynn I hope all your shopping for the weekend is done and that you can now rest! :)

Love your spring-y puzzle, Bobbiwoz. How kind of you to pass it on now to a friend :)

Have a lovely afternoon, friends.

Hello friends.

@apirateslifeforme, good to see you checking in. Sorry to hear about your uncle.

Had a fun day shopping today. DH dropped me off at DD's work. She had taken the day off but ended up having to go in for a meeting until 10. We went to the mall to go dress shopping for the bridal shower in the start of June. Started at Nordstroms, Macy's, several other stores without success. Then went to JCPenneys and hit the mother lode. We had tried on 2 dresses each before Penneys. They had lots to chose from and a sale. I got one off the clearance rack for $22. DD found one she liked too.

Wanted to go to the Panera in the mall for lunch but from it had closed. The mall was very quiet in most stores. We got salads from Saladworks and found a table outside to eat. Weather was so nice. From there we went to Old Navy in another shopping center. I found two pairs of shorts for just kicking around the house for $15 each. DD got 3 tops. I rarely buy for myself so this was a good day.

Then she drove back to her house because she had a doctor's appt at 2:45. DH came and picked me up and we went to the bike store there and he bought a helmet.

.I am one who has pretty much given up on Hallmark movies till Fall,
I go to the Hallmark channel once in a to watch a movie and find Reba on.

I was trying to figure out why we never really did, and I think it was because with German Shepherds, one swoop of the tail would wipe anything on a coffee table right out!
That may be why I hadn't done any the past 10 years. Golden Retrievers tend to do the same.

Sustained Silent reading.
My kids did that in school.

I'm just a little disappointed in myself about the Summer one with the red crabs.
That was my favorite.

you can't see the pencil lines in the crabs from my house,
I couldn't see them either.

2 lantana (kind of pinkish with yellow)
I started a trend. That is what I have.

Good thoughts for @easyas123 in finding gas on their trip!

A quick hi to everyone!

Thanks Pea for the well wishes re: gas....we left Wednesday around 10:30 AM, headed down 301 South in MD into VA and then hit 95 S above Richmond. Spent the night in SC and continued on to Disney Springs Thursday afternoon. Went on to the Ft. Myers area this morning. We had ZERO issues finding gas thru VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL. Not one problem....heck, never waited more than for one car to get to a pump and more often than not has no wait. Saw one station that was out of gas, but honestly - we had no issues at all getting gas along 94South and 4 west in FL.

Unrelated - Disney Springs was a mad house. Lots and lots of folks out! Everyone wearing masks, but impossible to socially distance. We were okay with that, have had our vaccines and are ready to rumble again. Had a wonderful dinner outside at Raglan Road and enjoyed meandering around the Springs.

So glad that you had a good shopping day with your DD, Carol. Yes Reba or Golden Girls always seem to be on Hallmark these days. I thought they were a movie channel! Hugs on your mom, my friend. I was actually thinking yesterday that this coming Tuesday would have been my grandparents 83rd Anniversary. Grandpa was 20 going on 21 and Grandma was only 19 going on 20 when they got married. Heavenly celebrations for sure.

So good to hear from you, Easyas! I'm happy to hear you are having a good trip. Safe and fun travels forward!

We drove on Monday and Tuesday from HHI to the Cape May -Lewes ferry. We too were success in getting gas. In fact, in VA, on Tuesday, a small convenience store only had regular, and was selling it for $2.68. That was a very good price!

Hi everyone,
I'm glad the gas situation didn't cause any big problems for those traveling. Love the pictures everyone is posting, I should really figure out how to do that one of these days:sad2:
I am sooo tired, we worked so hard in the yard today. We took down our pool last year, and there is a stone retaining wall that I built from fieldstone and mortar, so today we put in a brick firepit and did some landscaping around the area. We planted 9 bushes including a Lilac, laid landscape fabric and 30 bags of wood chips. Our DD came and helped, which was so nice. My knee is killing me! Ibuprofen and early to bed tonight.
