Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning and QUACK--wanna guess what its doing outside again?--Yep..RAIN! And its only 39 degrees, yuck!
I got up at 4 am, hubby got up at 4:15. So now it's a little after 5. I have already fed the cats, fed hubby, stripped and remade the bed, sheets are in the washer. I am going to lay on the couch and snooze for awhile.
Stepdaughter is supposed to bring Lily by this afternoon so we can see her in her 'prom finery'. We are still very confused, as to why , as a Freshman, she is going to a Jr/Sr prom. At 14, she had better not be going with a 16/17 year old guy. We were told she was going with friends, but my sister in law asked someone who used to be a teacher at that high school. She said that only Jrs and Srs can go..so unless Lily is dating (unknown to us and we highly doubt) a Jr or a Sr, then why she is going at all is a mystery. Will post a pic later if possible

Have a nice morning!

Went back to sleep for a bit, woke up to sunshine streaming through the window. Now it's dark gray and threatening on one side of the house, and blue skies and sun on the other? Day does not look too promising. But one really bright spot in it already happened..checked our bank accounts this morning. On Thursday I sent the 'final payment ' for it. They said final payment had to be a check. (rest of the time it was auto deducted. I sent it priority mail, which said 2 day, but said wouldn't be delivered until Monday, and it was only going to Oakland MD. It actually got there in one day! Now it's super nice to look at that account online and see --Mortgage Balance ZERO (CLOSED) next to it! Whoo hoo..no more mortgage payments!

I've been up for over two hours, and you are already miles ahead of me. :rotfl2:

Sorry for the worries about Lily.

I know at my niece's school, each junior or senior could buy two tickets, bringing an underclassman if they chose. So if she's in a club or something that encompasses all grades, it is possible that they decided to go in a group, and the juniors and seniors are each "taking" one of the freshmen or sophomores. (Even if the club is all girls, it's 2021 after all.)

That said, I would still be a little worried. - Though the scenario I described is definitely possible, your older guy hunch is just as likely, especially given the fact that Lily has been going through a lot of stuff lately, and would be in a vulnerable position emotionally.

Fingers crossed it all works out!

Thanks for the input. Since Lily is being taught at home by a teacher, and not even going to school, I am assuming she belongs to NO clubs. Because of the seizures she was having a few months back, she had to give up the volleyball and basketball teams, and hasn't even been going to her church youth activities. And I am pretty sure she hasn't been dating anyone, for the same reasons. Add to that her psychological issues, an overbearing Mother, and a Dad who is on the road working 95% of the time..it's no wonder she is in the situation she's in. Guess I will try and find out more this afternoon if and when we see her! Her Mother said 'going to the prom with her friends' whatever that means!

Good Morning and Happy Saturday to all! Prayers each of you has a bright weekend :) It's grayish and cool here this early morning. Yesterday when I went out to move my car, I saw across the street the jacaranda trees were starting to bloom, so pretty. Will post a picture next week when they should be fuller all-around 🌳

Good Saturday to you all -

Happy Mother's Days to those that are celebrating this weekend. I treated myself to some triple chocolate something or another from a real honest-to-god bakery, and a split of champagne. Dinner will be crab dip followed by baked flounder with capers, peppers & lemons along with a cilantro lime rice. I may finish the evening off with a soak in the tub and just maybe a bit of one of the LOTR movies.

Now if the weather could just decide if it's going to be windy & sunny, raining or hailing - or all three at once, that would be great!

No huge plans tomorrow. We will see what the day brings -

Stepdaughter and Lily just left. Lily looked so grown up she made us cry. She didn't act as if she has a care in the world. Here are 2 pics of her--- I don't know why they are sideways..they aren't that way in my camera or the computer,,but you get the idea

Lynn, if you crop just a tiny bit, they will be right side up. Lily looks lovely. I like her dress.

Grocery shopping done. Picked up a rotisserie chicken for dinner and it was good for a change.

Weather varies between sunny, and dark and raining. Grass is really growing.

Will try to find a movie or something to watch on tv tonight.

Believe it or not --Summer, her mother,,found that dress at the Goodwill Store in Morgantown WV,,and paid all of $.99 cents for it! She found 3 other dresses for some of the other girls for the same price. She found the jewelry in another second hand store, and made the corsage and the boys lapel flowers too. Also decorated Lily's shoes (flats..she is so tall she's taller than her Mother, and both of us, lol), they said Prom 2021 on it. 2 of the other girls going were Juniors and have no boyfriends, so they each invited girlfriends to go, that's how Lily got to go.
We had breaded shrimp, clams, rice, and coleslaw for dinner.
Have a nice evening everyone..I will sleep better after seeing Lily in person and seeing how mentally stable she looked!

Whoo hoo! We're looking forward to seeing the same thing in a couple of years.

So pretty, Kirby! Love the bright yellow and purple together, looks a bit Easter-y :)
Thank you! They bloomed late this year, as are my Easter Lilies and some orange lilies that I have. Just buds on them all.

Lily looks beautiful! That dress and color suits her. I'm so happy for her and for you.

Birthday celebrations began today for Lil Joe and Lou Lou. His birthday is tomorrow and hers is Tuesday. DS and fiance came over this morning and we all went fishing. 574003574004574005 They were a little afraid of the larger fish but you can see that Lil Joe had no problem with the minnows. They loved running around the pond and "helping" to catch a fish. We did catch and release. My sister came over afterwards for a little while to see the kids. We had Chick Fil A for lunch and DD bought a dozen donuts all decorated for the birthday kids.574006The couple of Disney ones were eaten first.

Once everyone left I headed to Kroger for groceries. I don't normally like to grocery shop on the weekend but it wasn't too bad. Lil Joe wants Tysons Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets for his birthday dinner plus strawberries and grapes. I was able to find one bag of the chicken nuggets and snatched it up. Those are hit or miss at Kroger so we buy them when we find them. I'm going to add mac and cheese to our menu, Lil Joe said that it would be okay. Lou Lou says she wants cake and corn for her birthday dinner. :rotfl2: I'll probably add something like roasted brussel sprouts and yellow squash. I wonder if she wants any meat?

DD daughter gave me chocolate covered strawberries and flowers for Mother's Day. She also wants to take me for a mani/pedi. DS wants to take me to brunch sometime and do something different. I don't know what the something different will be but I am being royally spoiled!

Good morning DIS family. Happy Mothers Day to all ! Woke to find this message from Stepdaughter. --"I have to tell you this. Made me cry. At the end of the night they played that song into my loving arms. And there was a special needs boy there and lillian asked him to dance. All the kids and adults cleared the floor so he could have his special moment with lillian. Just shows me I raised her right and she gave that boy a night he will forever remember

That made ME cry this morning! This shows you what kind of girl Lily really is, despite all her issues

Calling for rain this morning, maybe partial clearing this afternoon, maybe better
weather on tap for the week.

Planning on spending a quiet Mothers Day. It's my choice for dinner. Was going to do bacon wrapped filet mignons on the grill, but the weather is going to make that iffy. Backup is going to be baby back ribs, have to wait till around 1 or 2 to decide.

Have a great Sunday!

First off....thank you all for the love and support. :grouphug: This past week was a whirlwind. We are all going to miss her like crazy but I'm glad she isn't suffering anymore. She hasn't been well in a long time and always said she wished it was her time to go, she just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up...so she got her wish. She's in a much better place now, healthy again. ❤

Happy Mothers Day....I hope your day is spent with the ones you love.

Good afternoon. And Happy Mother's Day.

Watched church then went out to check out a new bird supply store and picked up subs from Jimmy John's for lunch. The nearest JJ closed and this is a little farther but I really like them. DS left a MD's card here when he was home 4/25 with instructions not to open until today. Inside starts out "Aloha". He enclosed a gift card to the afore mentioned bird store. Will see DD when we go down there later today.

@lynxstch, how kind of Lily.

@AuntieMe3, glad to see you.
