Good Morning everyone.

AuntieMe3, that sounds like a fun lunch with friends. I'm so glad you and your DH got to do that yesterday :)

You really find the cutest pictures, Lynxstch, thank you. Good plan to burrow back under a warm blanket or two! I hope it will warm up a little bit for you this week ahead!

I'm glad the sun is shining out there, PollyannaMom:sunny: Enjoy!

Carol, Ghirardelli was the best! I remember the very first time I went to their SF location for ice cream--amazing!

Snowysmom, I'm grateful at last you were able to get your first shot. I'm sure sorry the process was such a trial! Thanks so much on my Dad. Feel better!

Yikes, Easyas, that poor lady! I was somewhat surprised that my Dad's appointment yesterday was not cancelled because thousands were postponed on Friday due to lack of supply. Walgreens should have absolutely notified the woman!

I'm enjoying all your extra beach memories, thank you 🏖

Wishing all of you a good day and first Sunday of Lent.

@easyas123--Hope you feel better soon. That was very sad about the lady who got to Walgreens to get the vaccine, only to find out there were none. I am assuming they have people's names and phone numbers. Would have been nice of them to call and tell people not to come, as there were none :(

Sun is shining,,it's currenty almost 36. Washed the kitchen floor, couldn't stand it anymore. That's it for my chores today.

Someone posted this on FB and it made me really LOL84357700_10215504665519916_6473520075994300416_n.jpg

That was her position, too!

I am also 'done' for the day. We took the pups out for a nice, long walk. I started some venison-vegetable stew, trying to decide on if I'm going to go with barley or lentils. Might run a couple of the dog beds thru the washer, that will conclude my exciting day!

Hello everyone,
I haven't posted for awhile but I've been keeping up with all of your happenings. Things have been hard lately. Monday I had my Hysterectomy { they should not send you home the same day} On Thursday the pathology report came through, and it is cancer. I will have an appt. soon to discuss what will happen next. It hopefully was caught soon enough even though it is a very aggressive form.

On Friday morning my dear sister passed, I thought I was prepared but, It is very hard. I was so close to her, she is older and helped shape the person I am today. This morning I woke up and went to the phone to call her😪.

If you recall my DH also has cancer, what a year this has been.

Our DD is due with our second grand baby on 3/8 and I am so nervous something will go wrong. No reason to expect it but so much has gone wrong lately.

Many, many prayers, DaxedX3, I am so sorry. Thinking of you!

It's warmer here today which is such a Blessing. Dad's arm is a bit sore but not bad. Thank goodness he's still feeling fine otherwise.

I just read a Love Inspired book called A Daughter for Christmas. The story had it's good moments. I admit to being much more touched by the author's note to readers as a postscript. I even just emailed Stephanie Dees to tell her so. She reminded readers that no matter what circumstances or timing or anything else life may bring, God is still with and working through us. He indeed cares and is (always) our Saving Grace. I add that note to my extra Sunday gratitude list :)

Sending :grouphug: to each of you.

@AuntieMe3, sitting out on the tailgate of your truck sounds so delightful. I love to eat outside.

@Breezy_Carol, thanks for the heads up! I enjoy watching that show.

@dazedx3, keeping you in my prayers, your family also.

What a difference a week makes! It was almost short and flip flop weather today. Went to Kroger and Tom Thumb to get all that was on my grocery list except for water. Kroger had a great deal on 18 count eggs, 89 cents!

Thought I would join in and my gratitude for today is for the snow. It was mighty cold last week but the melted snow is giving the earth what it needs since we were behind in our rainfall totals up to this point.

@Dazed I’m sorry to read your difficult news. Instead of raining, it really poured for you. It is very hard to get that news, I know. I am an almost 18 year cancer survivor now. I always liked hearing those *good* stories so I’m throwing that out there. Mine was very aggressive, too. Lots of experience here helping cancer survivors (via longrunning Breast Cancer Survivors thread, and as a nurse), so please feel free to PM anytime at all if you need to talk to someone about your feelings. Our medical teams do a good job with the physical part but we’re often left to our own devices on the emotional part. I’m not afraid to talk about anything, so I’m there if you need me. It will probably be especially difficult for you with the loss of your sister just the other day, and dealing with your husband’s illness, too. Just remember, this is a time you have to take care of yourself, too. Please stay well. :flower3:

We had a day of cleaning out father in law’s. It was emotional for me, as I knew it would be. Work has been hard lately, people in the hospital are so sick, and things remain so stressful. Still no visitors. So I think that made it more emotional for me. (And I still haven’t cleaned out Mom’s apt yet. I knew the time wasn’t right with all the difficulties of the past year caring for Covid patients and FIL sick, etc.) But everyone was going today and I wanted to help.

Oh, and guess what - we forgot that DH had built a stable for his parents and lo and behold, tucked inside was a nativity set, too! So we took that home :goodvibes and will find a nice spot for it next Christmas! Kind of weird how that happened after all the hemming and hawing I did about it here. I will still keep our little one out in our living room. Good thing I didn’t buy another one!

FYI for anyone who records All Creatures Great And Small. I believe tonight is the last one and it is listed as running here from 9-10:35 so you need to record a longer time.
Oh you mean the money grab? Lol. DH was waiting to go to bed but they kept saying there would be interviews with the cast! But loved that last episode, and the whole season. :lovestruc I’ve been thinking about reading the book series again, too. It’s so lighthearted, and nice to get away from 2021 when watching it!

I had some pics I took of some things we cooked the other night - scallops and salmon.

Good morning all. A taste of Spring in our weather this week. almost 50 today, almost 60 Wednesday--can't wait. All I need is a little warm weather to improve my mood. Somerset PA, which is only a short distance from here, is expecting 3-5" of snow today..how weird is the weather??

Edited to add..I am MAD at the weatherman..why the heck is it snowing outside? Very fine powdery snow,,but its already covered the ground and isn't stopping :( Wonder if they still say it will get to 47-50? lol~

Need to go shopping this week for a new power lift recliner for hubby. The motor in the one his daughter gave him is wearing out,,if it gets stuck with him in the reclined position, we are going to have a problem. Happened once when we had a power outage, and it wasn't fun. Took quite awhile to get him out of it!

Have a nice week morning everyone!

Dazedx3 - I echo what so many have said before me, my thoughts & well wishes are with you & your family...I'm so sorry all this has hit you at once, sometimes it just isn't fair what one person gets saddled with-

It's another Monday, and at the moment it's looking like a quiet week ahead. Thrilled that the weather will be getting a bit warmer, although it means the yards and fields will be a muddy mess. But, that's okay. I can't believe it's almost March! My two work travel trips in March have been canceled and reduced to - you guessed it - a virtual conference & a zoom meeting. Boring. We are ready to get started on some serious outside spring cleaning, but that needs to wait at least another month or so at least, but I'm itching to get started. Always feel so unproductive in March - there is so much to do but it's not quite time yet to get it done. The BIG chore we have ahead of us is we need to power wash the whole house, including under the walk out basement/porch & seal the entire porch. That is going to be a chore & a half

I've got a Costco run planned this Saturday morning (yes - I know, bad time to go!), youngest coming home for the weekend also. I'm trying to come up with a good solid meal to make for him. I've got leg of lamb or chicken parm on the short list.

I hope everyone has a good morning -

Good Monday morning.

Yesterday was a fun day. It was my birthday and DGD's 4th birthday. (We share a birthday.) We went to DD's house and DS and his wife came up too. We tried to social distance and wore masks. Per DGD's request, we ordered sushi for dinner and ate at 3 separate areas. Both kids and DH joined together to get me one of those digital photo frames that they can add pictures to remotely by email. And as my brother said when we spoke last night, it's for grandparents who can't figure out the technology, which is a fair statement.

My one birthday rule is that I don't cook. We had carry out sandwiches for lunch and carry out sushi for dinner. And I came home with leftovers from DD for two lunches for myself. On Saturday we supported the church women by buying a quart of soup which may be dinner tonight.

Last night I got a grocery order placed to pick up today and this evening we babysit both grands so their parents can visit a new daycare they are considering for next year.

@dazedx3, you certainly had a week to forget. Good thoughts, prayers, and virtual hugs coming your way.

Oh you mean the money grab?
I realized that once it started. And your dinner looked really good.

@lynxstch, didn't the power chair have a battery backup? Many do just for that reason. Is James in love with Helen?
the yards and fields will be a muddy mess.
So will our backyard with no grass after the septic tank incident. DD wants to have DGS's first birthday party in our yard in May because we have a bigger yard. Hoping to have grass by then.

Watching the snow gently fall before it turns to rain.
