Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Too many posts to remember so just hope everyone is doing ok.

Had a couple inches of snow yesterday that was the lighter stuff and took no time to clear. We got about another 6 inches last night and it was not as light. The neighbors were all out today helping each other and that was great. I have bad knees and a bad back but I have to to shovel since my husband is only allowed to go out and salt. I have been helping with the neighbor I share the step with. He has had a couple strokes and she is battling cancer so I started their walk and everyone pitched in. It was nice to have a sense of community again.

The baby front is still not good. My granddaughter in law is still in the hospital. They hoped to discharge her yesterday but her BP began to spike again. We were hoping LJ would get out of the NICU but when they took him off the CPAP for his oxygen levels he began to have distress so he is back on that again and still in the NICU. My poor grandson is struggling to hold up but he is there as much as he can be but that means no income for now. Hopefully he can start helping with the kitchen next week and I can pay him to tide him over. Please continue to pray for LJ so that we can get him home.

To decompress a bit I am driving to Lancaster this Saturday with my granddaughter for pics of the Covered Bridges with snow. That area got a few more inches that we did so it will be a good opportunity for us. She is already planning on some ideas of angles she wants to try and get.

Have a good afternoon.

Sending prayers that LJ gets better and gets home soon. Also hope Mom gets better.

We have 18 inches of snow outside now. Our town made the news as one of the places with a high snow total. Not a recognition I want. DH used the big snow blower and was outside for hours cleaning up. He is napping on the couch now. Jasper liked walking out in the snow. He also likes having his feet wiped off when he comes in. He is a spoiled doggie. They are talking about another nor'easter Sunday into Monday. The weather models do not agree on the track. I like the one that takes it away from us.

@tazdev3225 hugs and prayers for baby and his momma. I hope they better and able to be released soon.

Thanks for the help with the candles. I think I like the white/gold ones better than the red but I'll leave the red ones up until Valentine's Day and then switch them until the end of the month.

Went to my friends house this morning for her to do my nails, I went by Bath and Body Works for a online order pickup of hand soap and then swung by the mall to return some pants. Fast easy, in and out quickly, it was pretty busy for an early Tuesday afternoon...I was going to go to Target for a return too but the line was too long so I'll go later in the evening sometime when the customer service line isn't as long. I almost went to Michael's and Hobby Lobby to see what kind of Valentine's stuff I could find but decided I really don't need anything so just drove on by.

Time to bump up our thread!

I also hope all of you in snow country aren't in for even more/longer snow and cold!

Zero snail mail here today so far. Dad said last night maybe one week we get mailbox mail followed by another week of only packages through the mail and so forth. That does seem to be the pattern right now :( I hope mail is straightening out for all of you!

Not really..we got a letter today, from NY that was postmarked Jan 25. Yet she told me it was mailed a week before that..and then it took another week to get to MD. My neighbor finally got his stimulus check yesterday, and that was mailed on Jan 6! Yet we got our water bill 3 days after it was postmarked..there is no rhyme or reason to the post office these days. Yet I find the fact that you don't get regular mail delivery very puzzling. Have you tried calling your local postmaster and asking him about it?

Thanks for the prayers everyone. My granddaughter in law is going home, sadly without LJ. I am waiting on my grandson's call to find out more of what is going on with him.

Hopefully he will follow soon.

@Bianca and Bernard, I love BBQ but not spicy sauce. I prefer melt in your mouth, can't chew the burnt ends very well. Burnt ends became real popular down here last year.

@lynxstch, what kind of steamer do you have?

@sweetpeama, DD loves melaleuca. She uses it at school to wipe the kids desks down. I've had the wipes in my car, they smell like thyme. Takes a little to get used to the smell is so strong.

@easyas123, I am so jealous! I'd love to be at WDW right now. We've toured Wilderness Lodge and had lunch downstairs but I'd love to stay there sometime.

@tazdev3225, glad your granddaughter in law is home, praying for her and LJ.

Weather here was nice today, up in the 50's and sunny but windy. We have a cold front coming in like the majority of you do later this week. We'll get a taste of the artic front but some of you will really get hit with it.

Dinner tonight was broiled shrimp over rice with coleslaw and green beans.

Yikes, Lynn that sure is no rhyme or reason! I am glad you got your letter! :) All I know is that the week of January 18th we got only packages through the mail (except on either late Saturday night or Sunday morning). Last week we got mailbox mail daily. So far this week, only packages through the mail. Dad did go to the main branch post office (not in a good area) and waited to talk to someone--this was a week and a half or so ago. At that time, all he was told was that the PO is overwhelmed and understaffed. I have not seen any of the carriers this week. I do know from two weeks ago that was when two different mail carriers told us they were hired to only deliver packages or ads that go through the mail. So that fits the pattern for this week so far :P I am not sure there is anyone to call. In non plague times, we could (more easily) call our local City Hall perhaps. We may need to try a local representative. ETA: Not long after posting this message, guess what came? The mail! I was glad that two birthday cards expected for my Dad were included. We shall see what tomorrow brings!

Hugs, TazDev. I am very thankful your granddaughter in law got to go home. I am so very sorry LJ did not get to go with her. Many prayers he is able to come home very soon!

Kirby, I'm glad you had some nicer weather today :)

QUACK and good morning! A light dusting of snow overnite, but that should be the end of that storm. Until the next one :( I was able to just sweep the layer of snow off instead of shoveling it. I need to take the trash down to the street, but waiting until the paper carrier puts the paper in the box. She backs in the driveway and leans out of her car window to put it in, and if I put the trash there (with the snow pile on either side of the driveway) she would just back into it,,lol..she doesn't look very well when she comes ,,but of course it's still dark out, so she can use that as an excuse. Fed the cats, and am going back to bed,,didn't sleep well last nite again. Will be back later to catch up on all the posts. Have a good morning.R4a648d190f860a35f6195e03a2a3fe4f.jpg

That’s a fun Disney photo! Wilderness lodge is my favorite resort. All in one place, easy to get to quick service, secluded so you do feel away from the parks, and relaxing boat ride. We have stayed there many times around thanksgiving. The giant tree in the lobby is spectacular.

QOTD: who is your favorite Disney character?

I like the little green aliens from Toy Story. And , of course, Mickey. Did anyone have one of those watches in the early 90s with Mickey on it and it played the song ?

QOTD: who is your favorite Disney character?

I’m going to be the odd one out here- I’m not big into Disney characters! I mean sure, they are cute I guess. I think we gave more thought to them when kids were very little and were into Buzz Lightyear & the Chipmunks.

Good morning all. It’s only 8 degrees warmer down in Orlando than up at home! Traveling back today, I’ll try to get around to a mini trip report tonight or tomorrow.
