Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Please do stay warm, friends! I stayed cozy in bed a little longer this morning than usual and it felt lovely. Always a Blessing to come on in the morning to new posts. All of you checking in each day means so much to me, thank you :)

Hugs and peace dear Kirby. Peace and health to all of you, too.

Thank you all on the slippers and Luckyrabbit for the suggestion :) I don't mind that they are a little big because of the thicker socks I wear.

Continued prayers for LJ and Mateo, too!

AuntieMe3, enjoy your first week off from work! Stay warm!

:grouphug:and ❤ to all. Have a Blessed Sunday.

DH got a phone call this morning from Mayo. The transplant team is signing off on older transplant patients getting the COVID vaccine...so tomorrow, he goes to get his first one. I won't be able to get mine until probably the summer at the earliest, and DS after that, I'm sure. But it's a start. SOIL#2 received his first dose a week or so ago (military overseas) and once they have received their 2nd round, then the spouses will get theirs. We're nervous about DH getting it, since he's on immunosuppresents, but he says he won't wait since it's available to him now.

Lunch was hamburgers, mac n cheese and veggies. For dessert, I made dark chocolate brownies w/dark chocolate chips, topped with peanut butter-dark chocolate cookie batter. Topped them warm out of the oven with some vanilla bean ice cream. Only need a little bit, since it's all sweet and rich, but oh, did it hit the spot today.

DD#2's BFF is almost 3 months pregnant, and DD#1 got a dr confirmation on Friday for 5 weeks, 5 days...so we'll have 2 new babies to spoil come the fall (if all goes well). DD#1 has a thyroid issue they just discovered (runs in my family, my mom passed from thyroid cancer, and 2 of my sisters have issues + DH's mom had thyroid cancer twice--beat the first time, lost the 2nd, although she doesn't count for DD#1). DD#2 is having her checkup and they are going to look at her thyroid closely, as well as look into treatment for the ovarian cysts.

I wish the weather would settle down. We went from 40s to 80s to 40s to 70s today, all in the space of the week. Give me 40s at night and 60s in the day, with low humidity and a light breeze, and I'm a happy person. No pain in the joints; my hair looked great; and I could walk without dying. LOL

Mother Nature can turn the snow off anytime now. We have had maybe 4" so far..my Sister in Law not 15 mi away in WV has already had almost 8"! She has a friend who is in the Outer Banks on vacation, and they had sleet and freezing rain there this morning!
I have cleared the driveway, walks, steps, and over to the sheds 4x so far. I would rather do an inch at a time, than try and tackle it all at once . My arms and back can't take that much. They say it won't end till Tuesday morning :( Dinner is in the crockpot..bbq seasoned pork roast, having Knorr angel hair pasta and herbs with it,,and either peas or zucchini.
Have a nice nite all!

Good day.

Watching the snow gently fall. It is lovely, especially since I have nowhere to go. DH has his snow blower ready to go but not enough out there yet.

He and I played a game of Scrabble. We need to figure out this retirement thing when we can't travel and eat out.

@Kirby, sounds like things went as well as they could yesterday. I hope everyone stays healthy.

@Bianca and Bernard, your dessert is making me drool. I would love to have some of those brownies and ice cream.

@lynxstch, your dinner sounds good too. I am hungry after reading all these foods. We will be having Carol's smorgasbord tonight. That's where I pull out the left overs and we decide who wants what. There are mashed potatoes, red beans and rice, shrimp, turkey, green beans, broccoli, and wine. I am going for wine, turkey, and broccoli.

Finished picking up the kids toys and almost done the puzzle. Maybe some tv tonight. Does anyone watch Bridgerton? We might try it.

@Kirby It sounds like you had a nice service for your mother. How kind of your neighbors to have dinner for you afterwards.

@lynxstch We a little bit behind you in the snow coming in. We are expecting it tomorrow afternoon into Tuesday. DH got gas for the snow blower today. How is the wind with this storm? We are expecting wind gusts up to 40-50 MPH. We will have to turn up the heat tomorrow in case the power goes out. I do hope the snow slows down for you.

@flyingdumbo127 Good fitting slippers make all the difference in warmth and comfort. Glad you found some that you are happy with.

We saw younger DS's kiddies today. They are so cute and sweet. The littlest one just smiles and squeals as she runs around. She is so exuberant. My DGS took me on a tour of his lego castle. He gave me the queen to find a place for. Older DGD built some legos and we read to all of them. I also chatted with DS and DDIL about a family Disney trip in 2022. We will start the planning late Spring or so. Older DS and DDIL need to be on board with it too but they know we are looking at 2022.

It is a bit warmer here today at 28 degrees. It was nice to walk without freezing. Jasper got his entire walk and got to sniff at his favorite telephone poles. Unfortunately he won't be able to do that for a while once the snow comes in.

Good Afternoon Friends :)

Prayers B&B your DH's vaccine goes well tomorrow! Minus the dark (don't care for dark chocolate) chocolate cookie batter sounds intriguing! I am glad you enjoyed some tasty treats :)

Hug, I'm sorry, Lynxstch that you have to deal with snow shoveling :( I hope you enjoy your dinner and have a cozy evening!

Carol, that type of snow watching (from the safety and warmth of a home with no where to go) sounds lovely. As always, I so enjoyed worship service from your church. Dad and I need to play Scrabble! We got a new set just as the plague was beginning and it's sitting in my closet. Good reminder. Related to Scrabble, so any of you have Bananagrams or Upwords? I think both are Scrabble very similar?

Hooray for grandkid time, Snowysmom! 28 degrees does not sound remotely warm to me, yikes! I am glad Jasper enjoyed his walk. Thank you on the slippers. Prayers you and your family get to have a fantastic and plague worry free Disney trip next year!

@Breezy Carol, I've watched Bridgerton and enjoyed it.

I slept in this morning, told my husband that I was going to and if I wasn't up by 9:00 am just to come in and make sure I was breathing, otherwise leave me alone. 😄

Temps in the 40's but with the wind it was on the chilly side today. No word yet if Lou Lou is negative yet, she didn't sleep well last night and had crying fits until she fell asleep for a nap. She had a good nap fortunately. Now Lil Joe has a runny nose. Praying they both only have a cold or allergies from the Mountain Cedar. I also saw that we had a dust storm overnight.

Changed the sheets on the bed, cleaned up the kitchen twice and washed some laundry. I delivered some items that were left at my house yesterday to my neighbors and friends. Dinner was leftover BBQ from Friday.

Got a phone call from my cousin this afternoon. My aunt, Ethel, my mom's sister, had a stroke on the way home from the funeral last night. They live in Oklahoma, her husband officiated the service yesterday. She stayed in the hospital overnight but they released her today, she has to go back tomorrow for more testing. Seems that it was probably a clot that caused the stroke.

Hello everyone, We had about 8 inches of snow last night... it is windy and so the white stuff is drifting as fast as we clear it.

Congrats and prayers for the new babies...DD is due the beginning of March.

So much has been going on lately. DH is doing pretty good physically, not so good mentally. I think he is going to try to retire, we are looking into insurance etc.
My sister has come home on hospice, they said there is no more they can do for her. This has been very hard, I am very close to her. I'm just trying to help her as much as I can.
I also got some concerning health news, I will need surgery very soon. Its all too much at one time. I'm usually pretty good with stress but this is just too much.

:grouphug:💕from me in CA to you as well, DazedX3.

I did watch most of The Sweetest Heart on Hallmark and overall enjoyed. I am sorry to say that due to my faulty cable box I never did get to see Signed, Sealed, and Delivered. I'd appreciate a heads up next time this series re-airs.

Prayers for a peaceful good evening, friends.

Good morning all. Such sad news to read about @Kirby Aunt and @dazeddx3 Sister. Prayers to both of you and your families. You have already been through too much this year.

Feb 1'st already. Next month will be a whole year since Covid really started around here, and at least in this area, it's seeing a lot of improvement. Hospitals aren't as packed as they were.

So far we've had about 5" from the storm. I was up at 4 this morning, and it was so peaceful and quiet outside, that I reshoveled everything one more time. They say we may get 2-4" more, but that may be more of the extreme Western MD than us. My Sister in law had at least 9" by 8 last nite, and she's only a little bit away from us , in WV.

Going to lay down for an hour and see if I can rest my back, just in case more shoveling has to be done. At least it's light and fluffy, and there is no wind. Sorry for those of you who are dealing not only with the snow ,but the high winds, stay safe!R8d63220652b7e63cd227fcfabda01327.jpg

Have a great morning everyone!

No snow yet here, but many schools have already called off (or declared early release or remote days - so many options now) as it is supposed to start midday. So I have an extra day to my weekend.

Maybe some tv tonight. Does anyone watch Bridgerton? We might try it.

I haven't seen it yet, but it's on my list. MIL recommended it, and we tend to like a lot of the same ones.

Good morning.

Maybe about 3 inches of snow yesterday and it is glazed on top now so must have had freezing rain or sleet. It is doing one of those two now as I can hear it hitting the ground. The wind is picking up and with ice on the tree branches, that is never good. Our power lines are under ground so hopefully no problem here.

Did watch the first episode of Bridgerton last night, with closed captions. I enjoyed it. I think the big draw for the female audience is the Duke of Hastings.

@Kirby, so sorry to hear about your aunt.

And, @dazedx3, so much all at once. Prayers for you and your family.

Seeing as it is a snow day, I made the official snow day breakfast - french toast.

Part 3
We stopped at Arbys and I got 16 year old her French Dip along with a hot ham and cheese sandwich, a macaroni and cheese for 13 year old and a beef and cheddar for me. We started out thinking about heading to a park for a while. A little over a mile down the road while stopped at a light I looked back to check on 13 year old to see her laying against the side of the truck door just about asleep. I asked 16 year old if we could change going swimming to either Saturday if we got up in time to go or on Monday if we didn't go on Saturday. She was fine with that though she did have to take a look at her sister just about asleep in the back of the crew cab of the truck. The light changed and we continued on our way having changed our plans from going to a park to going home. 3.5 miles later while stopped at another light I once again glance back to check on 13 year old really quick and she is out-her sister just had to take a picture. We continued home stopping by Dairy Queen to get 16 year old an artic rush and a blizzard, 13 year old a kids meal of a corn dog with mustard packets, a banana and a chocolate milk, and me a 6 piece chicken strip basket with 2 things of country gravy and a frozen hot chocolate.
We finally pull into the main yard of the property so that 16 year old can go and get the mail. When she opened the door 13 year old woke up so I told her to stay awake till we got in the house. I drove the tenth of a mile back to our house and we headed inside with 13 year old carrying her backpack and the bag with her food from Dairy Queen. I didn't know if she would sit down and eat or if she would just crash again she looked so tired. I walked in the house through the back entryway through the kitchen and into the front room to see that 13 year old was sitting on the coach eating her corn dog. I handed her the chocolate milk we had gotten that was in the drink carrier which 16 year old brought in and then went to sort the food from Arby's. I found the macaroni and the French Dip but where was the hot ham and cheese and the beef and cheddar.
I wondered if 16 year old had grabbed that bag out of the bags put inside each other and taken that one downstairs thinking the beef and cheddar was for her and not for me. So I waited until she had come back in to get her French dip. She hadn't so I asked her to look and see if I had put the receipt in the console between the front seats of the truck. She never had so I am hoping that they just forgot to charge me for those items.
I sat down in my chair and started working on the computer while enjoying my chicken strips basket and actually getting to dip my fries instead of eatting them plain. Most places I can't do this unless I pay more to get a container of ranch or I get a nuggets or strips order and that for the sauce though I do really love the country gravy when I can get it. I sometimes wonder if I could get these places for discrimination due to my being allergic to tomatoes that they would have to let me have a free ranch or honey mustard instead of charging me for it.
About an hour and a half later it was close to 5:30 and being not able to keep my eyes open I decided I was going to set my alarm and take a couple hour nap as I had was up well before 13 year old on Thursday and then up with her quite a bit of the night that night. I knew if I slept longer than a couple of hours I would not be able to sleep thats night. I suggested to 13 year old that she go and lay down on her bed and take a nap as well.
I closed my eyes but did wake up briefly around 6 to see that she was still up and though ok we can get her to go to bed at a halfway decent time of 10:30-11. My alarm went off at 7:30 and I turned it off and went back to sleep until 8 PM when I noticed that 13 year old was not sitting on the couch where she normally sits and there were no sounds coming from her room so I asked DH if she had fallen asleep.
He went and checked to find that she was out. She crashed until 4:30 on Saturday morning and then went to bed at a halfway decent time on Saturday night and slept quite a bit. Come Sunday night it was once again back to not being so exhausted that the fear of the dark came in so once again it was back to sleeping in the front room with mama.
16 year old and I have come up with some ideas to use glow in the dark stars and even fairy lights to give her some light in her room so hopefully we can get her to sleep at night. I mentioned to DH that there might be some icecle lights in one of the Christmas boxes. When I asked if he had found them the answer was I didn't really look-thanks a lot because your not the one staying up with her and then trying to catch naps throughout the day. I am having to wait until payday since I have my student loan payment this week and will have less than $60 between what's in the checking account and what I have in cash other than that to cover any small expenses that pop up this week.
At least the gas tank on the truck is close to full and DH won't need to take and drive the car though he did put the gas from the gas can he filled on last week on Thursday in there so he could make a couple of trips to and from work with even a quick mile out of his way to stop and pick up items like milk at the store so it is just a matter of waiting until Friday when we get paid again.

Very thankful to be safely home. Dentist, as always, is so very kind. He did (took under 5 minutes) replace part of an old filling. That went fine. I realize this was my error (still not thrilled but totally expected) nothing was said about any additional cost for the filling. I also realize, also his wife (receptionist) didn't know I had had the filling. His assistant who made my next appointment did. Anyway, I just got a call saying I owe filling money next time. Always, make sure at any appointment you are clear on amount owed! Oh well, as always :grouphug: to all!
