Happy Birthday @AuntieMe3 !!!
Have fun! We are headed there ourselves for the first time later next month. It's a work trip, but we added a bit of extra time, we've always wanted to check out the area. Staying in the Coronado area.DH and I are headed south to San Diego for the weekend
You got it. I think these judges have seen a lot, and are good at reading past the BS. Fingers crossed it works out.If praying isn't your thing, I ask you do whatever you do to please let the judge see him for what he really is. The judge reads them Monday and there will prob be a temporary ruling by Thursday. I am nauseous pretty much all the time.
We've had a few folks here at work get it, even folks who have managed to stay clear of it until now. Luckily everyone who gets it has been vaccinated and it's been a real mild case. Please stay safe and take care, dear Quackers. Covid is sure on the rise here, too as I have said. So sad all-around.
I am in need of a new laptop, I've just been lazy about shopping for one. I'm not good w/ computers.I am typing on a new laptop now.
That is great to read...while I've never had the experience of a family member being in hospice, I have read so many stories of the comfort and help they provide and theJoe was in good spirits today and his whole attitude is just so much better. His anxiety is gone and he is feeling safe and secure. The people who work in the hospice are so kind.
I'm good, thanks. How about donating them to a local elementary school? Or a local pediatric hospital? So, stickers, anyone?!
If you are a onion ring person, those are pretty good as well! Rice, salad & fish is one of our go-to's. In fact, probably have it this evening.I found Nathan's onion rings but the slot for fries was empty. So, had rice and salad with the fish.
I'm intrigued by this, wasn't familiar with it. I googled a few recipes and it looks pretty good! Do you make yours with or without pasta? I think I may make this soon -BLT salad
Our grill blew up this past week, luckily this time of year places like Lowes & Home Depot start to put their grills on sale/clearance. I'll have to keep my eyes open because we are year - round grillers and already miss not having one.I miss having a grill. I may need to break down and buy a small one.
Oh - EVERYTIME my husband goes up there he sees bears, whereas I've never once seen a bear in the wild. I don't doubt if I lived up there I would not appreciate them prowling through my yard, but I would like to see one sometime.I think the big black bear is prowling around at night.
We have been fortunate to travel a lot, and so have our kids. We started when they were young. We had a connection thru MIA and so we just sent them on ahead of us, gave one them my cell phone and my husband and I trailed back 5 minutes or so while they navigated security and found the gate for our flight. They might have been 10 & 8? I can't recall....BUT we knew they'd soon be in situations where they would have opportunities to travel w/o us and we wanted them to be able to navigate it all on their own.Getting him ready to fly to Brazil on his own in the next year or two, so trying to prepare him.
Looks good! We were just talking about a future landscape idea we have for our back yard, and it's going to involve some zeroscaping for sure.I've worked DS hard this week - we filled, transported, and spread 10 bags of river rock in the front yard for a walkway,
I cleaned out my closet this weekend, and I really need to move on to the kitchen. I got rid of some clothes, but in all honesty I could have been a lot less conservative with what I tossed. I'll need to thin it out more.I organized the pots and pans cabinet and the Tupperware cabinet. Took stuff I rarely use to shelves in the basement so I can see what is in the cabinet.
Aww, so sorry you got so seasick, taz! So disappointing! I was so afraid of that - heck, I get seasick just on little boats! But, knock on wood, I never did, on four cruises. Granted, we were in the Caribbean, and the captains always said they try to find calm waters, which, for the most part, they did. That could be the one thing that causes me hesitation about an Alaska cruise! (Or European, which is on our Bucket List.) But it sounds like you at least had some good moments, would love to see the necklaces! Blue diamond and diamond sounds really pretty! Way to go, Jim!![]()
We use the one with the curly pasta. It also has Romaine, red onion, grape tomatoes, cheese, bacon, mayo and ranch dressing. I think you’ll like it!I'm intrigued by this, wasn't familiar with it. I googled a few recipes and it looks pretty good! Do you make yours with or without pasta? I think I may make this soon -
Remember how I was talking about a vacation? I had settled in on driving to TN, and getting a cabin in the mountains for a week. Well, DH has thrown all caution out the window and has planned a trip for us. We are hoping that for the next 5 weeks, there aren't any lockdowns due to political unrest or pandemics, and no hurricanes....in 3 1/2 weeks, DH and I are going to.....San Ignacio, Belize, for 9 nights! Our first trip out of the US. No beaches for us, and we're hoping to avoid major crowds this way. We are planning on seeing 2 or 3 of the Mayan ruins that are there, and a tubing trip down a river, maybe one through a cave, and other than that, we are not making any plans. Staying here: Black Rock Lodge . Driving down to Orlando, parking the car, and flying from Orlando to Belize City and renting a car; driving to San Ignacio; that way we don't have to rely on tours or whatever to go do what we want
Such a wonderful gift - I'm sure the GK will love them. Are they the Lionel trains? We picked up a set of O gauge to run around the tree, but at the time, we had no idea about the history. It's quite a story!I will be giving those to each family this Christmas.
It's become the post-covid mantra - "supply chain issues". It's shocking how quickly one can go from feeling comfortable to being stretched when the mortgage/rent goes up AND gas, food, and everything else goes up.Dad is finding prices keep going up while stock goes down
Good for you!!! Showing up is the hard part, isn't it? Inertia is the heaviest weight - keeping up is just icing on the cake!I have a workout scheduled for noon today. I haven't been in almost 2 weeks so hopefully I can keep up.
Wow - that has to be the most thorough response post I've read! Very thoughtfulGood morning everyone, finally caught up on here! I'm sure I missed someone/thing -sorry about that!
AWESOME!!! Well - sure beats Tennessee! I look forward to the photos!DH and I are going to.....San Ignacio, Belize, for 9 nights!
Such a good idea - I'm trying to plan extra time for events so that I'm not rushed and can give DS the responsibility (I put the London tube map on his phone and he was in charge of navigation for that aspect of the trip). I'm the consummate planner, so usually am in the lead. This trip to WDW, I'll follow your lead and give him his passport, nexus, and the tickets, and he'll have to lead ME through everything.I trailed back 5 minutes or so while they navigated security and found the gate for our flight
It must feel somewhat bittersweet to be planning a wedding now, under the circumstances. I can understand why your DD wanted to do it that way. I’m sure it will be hard on you in some ways, but hopefully it can bring you some joy, as well.Hello all, I haven’t posted in awhile but have been reading everyday. Our family bon fire went well, nice to visit with some we haven‘t seen since Covid.
I spent two days wedding dress shopping with our DD. They have decided to have a short engagement and will be married in Dec. They haven’t said so but I know it’s because of her Dad’s condition. Anyway, she has decided on having a custom made dress. Can’t believe the cost of dresses!
Both DH and I have been pretty down lately. I know he is feeling worse, but he won’t say too much. He has Chemo later today.
. Happy Birthday, Auntieme3! Hope you are having a lovely celebration!
Frog… Praying that things get resolved soon in your children’s favor. Stay strong
B&B. That sounds like an amazing trip
Snowysmom… I always keep you in my special prayers.
Pea… love to hear of your patient interactions.. you are a true blessing to those you serve.
Kirby… I pray the time goes fast until Lil Joe is back home.

If you go early enough, to the Cornado beach area, you might be lucky enough to see some Marines out running PT....
On the grill front: have you looked at Blackstones? They are pricey, but have a great reputation. DH wants one, and a green egg, and a regular grill too. LOL We do need another infrared oil-less fryer.

I cleaned out the house before the move a couple of years ago; and again with the move to this house. I bought new pots and pan and dishes, and I have a box of the old stuff to run up to Goodwill or put out for freecycle or something.
Well what do you know...pouring rain started around 9, with some thunder. For the last hour, it's just a nice light steady rain, the kind we need for about 2 weeks, lol! Like a steambath out there though. Didn't want to stay out too long, or my new hairstyle would be a frizzy mess, lol
I need to go get my hair cut either next weekend or the weekend after. I think I'm going to throw myself on the mercy of the stylist, and ask them for something easy and short, because of the trip. Last year, I went chin length, with longer layers to help manage the 'poofy' and thickness, so maybe that again. Frizziness is a way of life in FL, lol.
Check on the Dis camping board. They love them over there, lol.On the grill front: have you looked at Blackstones? They are pricey, but have a great reputation. DH wants one, and a green egg, and a regular grill too. LOL We do need another infrared oil-less fryer.
It's on the list to check out. My issue is we keep it on our upper porch, near back door to kitchen and the area isn't super big - plus my husband has his smoker there, too. But it may just fit...
Does anyone have a Blackstone? Was it difficult to go from a "regular" grill to one of those?
