Psychological traps of DVC

My Disney math is that I have three girls in 8th to 11th grade. Over the next 8 years, we will be buying cars, college tuition, insurance, etc. The yearly cash WDW trips are going to get tougher to justify, especially with the way costs go up every year.

We will be in a good spot to buy direct this winter to get our foot in the door, so it makes perfect sense to lock in much more affordable future annual costs.

What you're describing is exactly why we bought DVC when our kids were born. We wanted to know that when we hit that really expensive time we'd still be able to take vacations even as the kids get more expensive. We figured the kids will only get more expensive as they get older!

I think you'll love them both!

The one-bedrooms in Kidani, BLT, VGC, and PVB IT would have two bathrooms. The two-bedrooms in these resorts would have three bathrooms.
Where are the bathrooms located? This is great for our situation this trip, we didnt even plan it like that, but I would have chosen those two if I would have thought about the bathroom situation alone. Glad they happen to be our favorites!

I agree... I feel like VGF (1.0) was the pinnacle of the DVC product despite some minor issues I have with it (like the lack of second bathroom in the 1 BR units).

After that, it has felt more and more to me like DVC has been "value engineered" too much...

I have a similar complaint about the DVC 2.0 iteration rooms (BRV, BCV, BWV). The locations are great, but the rooms are quite middling...
Yes dvc 2.0 is my least favorite setup (so far)

The primary bedroom has a full bath, the living space has a full bath, and then the lock-off bedroom or studio has a full bath.

Jambo does NOT have this setup for AKV since it was a hotel conversion.

People always say BLT studio feels small to them and it didnt to me at all, CCV actually felt smaller to me

I think CCV is smaller? We toured the rooms during the Welcome Home Weeks and were not impressed. We love the lobby at WL and the overall feeling... But can't imagine staying there...

The cabins at WL on the other hand... that does seem very special! Sadly, I think a weeklong stay there is out of our budget for a while...

I think they're actually close in square footage, but BLT has the larger kitchenette whereas CCV has the larger bathroom.

All the CCV units are on the smaller side since they converted the WL cash rooms. That one bedroom hallway/laundry/storage area is also is kinda awkward IMO.

The CCV studios reminded me of dorm rooms when we stayed there and thats why it was off of our list, aside from us not caring for the food options (Whispeing Canyon was good).

Gorgeous hotel of course and I really wanted to like it for the overall value being the best, but i didnt at the time. I am so happy they did the refresh and gave it more personality! Now its on my radar again, but I dont know that the refresh will help how small the room felt
