@TazDev Anthony is in my prayers. Best wishes for a great recovery.

I had a dream with Chris in it for the first time. It was short but I remember it which is unusual. The other day was a bad day for me and I had a meltdown. I actually took my cell phone and threw it. Luckily it landed on a padded bench. So in this dream Chris and I were watching two little girls who I think were our DGDs. I was drinking coffee out of a mug and the coffee and mug were giving me issues so I threw t he mug across the yard. Chris told me not to do that, don't get upset and take it easy, it will be OK. I think he is telling me something.

Off to work early today. I am looking at condo later this morning with my younger DDIL and younger DGD.

Have a good day.

Good morning all

@tazdev3225--sending prayers Anthony's way for his surgery today.

@AuntieMe3--Anastasia is just beautiful! And you skipped spring and went to summer..we started spring, then switched back to winter. Only 38 degrees out now, going to 55. Down to 20 Sunday night and 19 Monday night. Brrrr...

I already started washing the windows inside. Too cold out to tilt them in to do the backsides of them, will do them after it warms up.

Have a nice morning~~

Happy Friday!

Snowysmom - I was told after my mom died that if you see that person in a dream, it is their way of letting you know that they are okay. When I finally had a dream like that I remember being sad but also happy. I really think that was his way of telling you that he's okay and things will work out for you. Maybe it's a sign that you'll really like one of the condos you're looking at this weekend. Good luck.

Finally watched Rescued by Ruby on Netflix yesterday :dog:. It was good, a little sad but that was because nobody wanted her at the shelter. It's a true story so I liked how that gave an update on the real Ruby, the dog that played Ruby (Bear) and the people involved.

I knew I had to get that movie in yesterday. I watched the basketball games last night, Bridgerton starts back up today and I work tonight. :happytv:

I made a frozen pizza last night for dinner but still have a lot left over. I was going to eat it today for lunch but then remembered that it's Friday and I'm not supposed to eat meat since it's Lent. So my big decision for the day is (1) pick the pepperoni off or (2) say a prayer and just eat it. :littleangel:

Taking Ds1 out to lunch for his birthday tomorrow. We're going to Cracker Barrel, haven't been there in years and I know how much he loves their French Toast. I just need to remember to stop and grab a gift card for his present on my way to work tonight. There's a restaurant in my area that used to be an old firehouse. It's pretty cool looking inside and Ds2 said the food it great. I got him a gift card for there for his birthday last month and they used it the following week.

Back to work. Have a great day and weekend!

@tasdev3225 - wishing for a successful and easy surgery for Anthony!

Before my Hilton Head trip, some tree cutters were here to do my neighbor's tree. The thing about this tree was it had grown sideways and managed to ruin that side of my back fence, popping the fencing of two of the posts. We left it like that as this was quite far into the back yard and I have a fence closer to the house that effectively keeps my Yorkie inside the yard. The whole yard is over 200 feet deep, maybe 250 feet, so with a fence around the 100 ft mark he has plenty of space to explore.

Anyway, up close to my house and my neighbors house there was a pine tree that was getting tall and spreading out, scratching on my neighbors house.

The tree cutters were part of my son in laws work crew, so I asked them how much to take down the 40 ish foot tall pine tree.

For a nominal amount, they laid it down in about an hour, but couldn't haul it for me that day. That was fine as I am able to have the county cart it off by trimming it down and placing it at the curb either in bins, bags or tied up branches.

So for all the non rain days I've been chipping away at the tree mess and its almost half gone. If it doesn't rain this weekend, I should have a good amount ready for Monday's pickup. This is not difficult work as the branches are still fairly small and pine is a soft wood so my loppers are very easy to use to cut it up into manageable pieces.

I could hire someone and they would want several hundred to do this and carry it away. It's a job that had to be done. I figure by doing it myself I can add the cost to my vacation fund and in my mind consider it money saved that can be added to my vacation fund.

Once that's done, I will get my garden ready. The trees that have been removed open up great areas for planting sun loving veggies and flowers, so I have some planning to do.

Have a great day all!

:grouphug:Taz and prayers Anthony's surgery is going well.

:grouphug:Snowysmom. I also hope you like the condo today.

Much cooler here this morning. I miss the warmth. I was sure extra grateful while it lasted :)

Have any of you watched the new HGTV show called Build it Forward? If so, what did you think? I came across it yesterday and have not yet checked it out. It may be similar to Extreme Makeover though I hope smaller scale and not as loud! EM could be too much for my liking anyway. I didn't watch it all that much. It was interesting to see something new.

Wishing all of you a warm and good Friday. I hope you're still enjoying this week off, dear Pea :)

I just watched the first one (Austin). It was very nice! Short episodes, and I didn't feel there was a lot of noise. (The "demo" part was very quick - just taking out a closet, and there was no big, shouting reveal.)

I kept wondering where I knew the female host from, and then I realized she did Great Christmas Light Fight, which I love!

Thanks, PollyannaMom. I'm glad you liked it. I'll definitely check it out. EM was just so loud and as I said earlier a bit over the top.

Dad is thankfully home from laundry and Ralph's. A positive about our laundry mat is every 9th wash is free no matter what size machine you use. He got a bigger machine freebie this morning :) It's warming up a bit in here for which I'm also most grateful.

Have a good afternoon, friends🌸

@footballmouse I have been told the same thing about dreams. That is why I was happy to finally have a dream with Chris in it and that I could remember. He was telling me to calm down. He was the one who always kept me calm and tried to ease my anxiety. It is nice to know he is OK but with the signs he has been sending I know he is OK and happy.

I am back from looking at the condo. It is a very nice one floor condo, on the top floor of the building overlooking a small wooded area and then a small neighborhood of houses. The highway is way over on the other side of the complex so no noise from there. My DDIL loved the large laundry room in the condo. With 3 almost 4 kids that is her focus. LOL! It has a large bathroom with a soaking tub and a walk in shower. The master bedroom is large. It has high ceilings so it seems bigger. The size of the unit is 1325 sq ft. There is quite a bit of storage space, heated garage parking, and you can have a small storage until at the end of your parking space. There are walking trails outside. Everyone we saw said hello and were very friendly. I saw several dogs being walked. There is a club house where they hold social events. I told DDIL that if I were 10 years older it would be easy to put in an offer. I am not sure why age should matter as the woman who owns it now is younger than me. She is building a house in Florida. Lucky her! I like to walk upstairs so I need to find out where the stairs are in the building. Tomorrow younger DS and a good friend are coming with me to go to the open house to take a look. I value their opinions as well as DDIL. It could be a possibility. The only thing it does not check off is feeding birds. But at least I would see birds and squirrels. Sunday I am looking at a town house in a different town. The same 3 people are coming with me so they can make comparisons too.

It is a beautiful day out. I walked once already but I am thinking of heading out again.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the prayers. Anthony is out of surgery and the news was a little better than hoped for. He only tore the ACL and NOT the MCL. He still has a long road ahead of him and is out of sports for 9 months but this was definitely good news.

I'll catch up later as I can now relax and breathe again.

❤Snowysmom and continued extra peace, my friend.

:grouphug:and praise God, Taz. Thank you for taking time to update us. PLEASE take care of YOU now and relax as best you can🌸

Been a longer afternoon here. I felt badly for dad. Our Sparkletts machine leaked all over the floor yet again. Good news is that I heard it fairly quickly so it didn't cause as big a flood as in the past. The current bottle, thank God, is A-OK. I continue to keep in prayer that one day dad will choose to ditch the cooler. I do know and, of course, am most grateful that most of the time it works fine. It's much easier than Gallon bottles for sure.

Prayers all of you are enjoying a relaxing afternoon and early evening, too. I just realized it's after 5 back East.

Good evening.

Closing happened! Then DH and I went out to a nice dinner to celebrate. A medical doctor bought the office and wrote us a very nice note of appreciation.

Marty failed the car seat test again. They won't test again until Sunday. DS said that the NICU nurses are basically babysitting Marty until he passes the test. They visit and feed, hold, and change him. We may go visit tomorrow.

I have a hard time letting go of perfectly good clothes even if I don’t wear them much. (Had depression era parents!)
I so get this.

@TazDev, I'm glad Anthony's surgery went better that expected.

@Snowysmom, Sounds like this condo could be a winner.

Our Sparkletts machine leaked
A little water can go a long way. Too bad about the mess.

Off to watch Maryland women's basketball for as long as I can stay awake.

@Breezy_Carol I hope Marty passes the car seat test tomorrow. It sounds like he is close.

@TazDev Continue prayers for Anthony. Glad the news was better than expected.

@Pea-n-Me I understand about not getting rid of clothes. I feel the same way. Chris saved lot of our kids clothes just in case we had another depression and we couldn't easily afford clothes. Grandkids would be clothed. It is due to having depression era parents.

Good Morning. It is a bit overcast today but the clouds in the East are a lovely yellow with a bit of orange. It is supposed to rain this afternoon.

My younger DS and a good friend are coming with me to see the condo I saw yesterday at the open house. It is nice but I just have to decide if I want one floor living or a town house. This one floor condo is the best one floor condo I have seen and I don't think I would see better. It is only 10 minutes from the younger DS and he likes that. I guess what I am ruminating on is that I don't feel that old right now even thought I am mid 60s. I feel like the kids are thinking I am older than I am but maybe they are just thinking ahead and want me to be comfortable, safe, and secure. Chris always told me that he told the kids to take care of me if anything happened to him. I sometimes get annoyed because I can take care of myself (right now with a little help from friends and family) but I know what Chris and the kids mean. They just want me happy, doing well emotionally, and secure in a place to live where they don't have to worry about me. The condo complex is all ages by building. The building I am looking in is 55+ but other buildings are all ages. There is a playground for kids. I like the all ages aspect.

Have a good Saturday.

If you like the place, there's nothing wrong with buying something that would accommodate more age-related issues than you actually have. It just means you won't have to move again someday if you eventually develop a knee problem or something.

And it is nice to be close to grandkids. Because you're still young, you might even be more of a help to them right now than they are to you.

Good morning..according to the Weather Channel, it's snowing here, except that it's not. There is full sunshine, but it will only get to 46 today.

@PollyannaMom--that ducky story made me smile,,thanks for sharing it

@Breezy_Carol--Congrats on finally closing on the business. One less thing you have to worry about anymore. That was nice of the new owner to send you an appreciation card. Some people do still have manners :) Sorry about Marty, but it's better to be safe than sorry~

@Snowysmom--good luck on the condo open house today. If I had to choose some other place to live right now, it would be just like this house. One story. Only stairs I have are going down to the laundry, don't have to worry about another set of stairs going up to a bedroom or another room. But only you can tell if it's the place,,I am guessing that if it is,,Chris is going to give you a sign that it's to be. If not, you will come across something you love (not just like!)

I have already stripped and remade the bed, swiffered the kitchen floor, did dishes. Checked on and watered tomato seedlings, etc
Finally got a hold of our handy man. I thought he was ignoring me after leaving him 8 messages over the last 2 weeks. His wife (well not his wife, but they have been together for 35 years, so he calls her his wife), had back surgery last week, shoulder surgery yesterday (sounds like the same kind of surgery Mr L's daughter is having next Wed, but his wife's isn't as severe). Before that- he was in Yellowstone for a month..their boat tipped over one day, and everything went in the water. Cooler, wallet, cell phone etc,,and he had to get a new one. That's why I got a 'this number is no longer in service' message the other day when I tried it..lol..He is going to stop over today to see all the things that need to be done. One corner of our old shed needs to be jacked up and a new cinderblock put under it. He needs to put a new ramp on it so I can get both doors open and I will be able to store a riding mower in. I also want a ramp going into the wood shed (no longer used for wood though), so I can drive the riding mower into there in the summer and not have to keep getting it out of the other one. He is also going to replace both doors on the back of the house, and on the front of the house. That will keep him busy for awhile. He also has to give me his friends phone # that installs gutters..we need new ones..the ones on here have been here since we bought the house 20 years ago. They are getting all warped and don't drain right, so we are going to have that done too.

Have a great morning all

Good Morning everyone,

It's also overcast here and the weather has turned. Today or tomorrow will be good cookie baking days :)

Hug, Carol, and continued prayers for Marty. Much better waiting an extra day or so until the doctors are confident he truly is ready to be safe at home. I pray that happens tomorrow. He'll get there. Thank you about the water. It does travel fast that's for sure.

PollyannaMom, love the ducky story and your wise kind words to Snowysmom are right on. Thank you, my friend for your cheer and love to us all.

Extra hug to you, Snowysmom and prayer you do have a good feeling about the condo today. ITA that what matters is that YOU feel at home in a space. I do like that it has a playground and is close to your son, two positives all-around.

Hug, Lynn, as always your energy amazes me! Now relax! :)

Have a good day everyone.

Taz, glad there was something positive in the surgery. It’s what I prayed for!

Hoping Marty can come home soon! ‘Auntie’s baby’ is beautiful!

Lynn I hope you get your handyman in there soon. I need one, too! (DH is good but we have a lot to do! Was so busy for several years between caring for Mom and working in a hospital during a pandemic, a lot got neglected.) I feel like we did get some things done this week, but we also relaxed. Slow and steady.

Yeah, with the clothes, I know I likely won’t wear things again but it bugs me when I need something and I got rid of it. But a lot has to go. With DH, too. (He’s just as bad.)

How’s the new pup doing, easy?

Love the duck story, PollyannaMom!

Judique I think we need to see your Yorkie!

Hugs to dazed. And :grouphug: to all! Saw @apirateslifeforme on the board the other day but she said she hasn’t been posting. Hope all are doing ok. :flower3:

Snowysmom, what you said today hit home. Mom came to live with us when she was 69 (though we’d looked at places w in-laws several years before that and she said then she wasn’t ready then so we bagged the idea), and she was here for 25 yrs, which flew by! We had no kids when we built the in-law apt. Then we had twins, and low and behold, the next thing we know, they’re in college! Her place was all one level and we made it handicap accessible. We never needed any of that till the last year. But you never know - none of us have a crystal ball, right? So 65 does seem young, but it’s really not. Just by the time you get settled in your new place you’ll be older already! As long as there’s a lot of space it should be fine, and I love that your DS is just 10 mins away. That is so important! There are bird feeders you can put outside a window or whatever. Excited to see how it goes today! I also loved that Chris was in your dream! My BIL was in my dream the other night, too, and I am still trying to figure that one out. But it was nice to remember him.

DH and I went to a concert this week, and enjoyed our quiet mornings to just sleep late and leisurely have coffee, etc. Toto was happy, he had a lot of outdoor time with DH.

We made this one night, super easy - olive oil and butter, garlic, halved cherry tomatoes, spinach, parm cheese and pasta. If anyone wants the exact recipe I can try to find it, it was very good. (We added some leftover turkey but I think I liked it better without.)

And Toto says hello!

Wishing everyone a nice weekend! 🐣

"Hi, Toto" :) Hug, to you Pea. I'm so glad you've had this week off and hope it's been a good one for you and your DH. Apirateslifeforme keep in touch by PM. As the weatehr gets warmer, she's busier. I'm glad you saw her, too. I do miss her posting. Still, of course, keeping Tina in big prayers and Sparkle78, too.

Easyas, I hope all is well with you and your new pup, too. Thinking of you, as well.

Snowysmom, prayers the condo visit went peacefully and well this afternoon, my friend. Thinking of you.

Lynn, I hope you are relaxing! :)

Continued prayers for Anthony, Taz and always, for you as well.

Thinking of you Judique and waving hi to you as well, Footballmouse. I think we still need a picture of the new pup in your life :dogdance:

Have a good afternoon, friends.
