@Pea-n-Me The real estate agent wants the stager to come in and take a look. He said I have the control over what is done or not done. I really only think a couch in the living room would work well. She may want to put table covers over the TV stand to hide the DVD player and cable box underneath and the table on the porch that has the wifi and router equipment under it. I am fine with that but I believe that is it. I see lots of pictures online of places for sale with empty or almost empty rooms. Sounds like you had an eventful weekend at work.

@bobbiwoz We have had cardinal couples at the house for years. We would often see the male and female cardinal feeding at the same time. Now I see the female cardinal once in a while and the male cardinal less often. They are so beautiful.

^ Great! It will be interesting to hear how you Ike it!

I love cardinals. We have them in our front yard, where we keep a feeder. The male watches out for harm when the female is feeding. I associate them with my dear MIL. She and FIL were hobbyist bird feeders and had an amazing set up and array of birds in their yard. I loved watching them when over there. Growing up in the city, I pretty much only knew what a pigeon was. DH taught me about birds. For a long time I kept a book and a laminated sheet by my slider so I could learn what they were. As an adult I always found them so beautiful and peaceful. We have a lot of birds where we are and DH feeds them every day. One of the gifts I gave him for XMas is suet, lol. The only thing I don’t like is the bird poop on my car, but I live with it. :lmao: At any rate, when MIL passed, I kept some of her cardinal memorabilia. I enjoy seeing them pop up at different places when I least expect it. 😇

Thanks, Pea, I am hoping Tina just got busy, too. IIRC, they both had recently changed jobs as well. Big hug to you and I am always so sorry to hear of anyone being bullied--so wrong in all ways. Prayers extra to you and Footballmouse for safety! I love that you said the Quacker Duckie, is of course, our favorite--it is!🐥

QOTD: What is your favorite bird? I never really thought about this...any songbird really as it, too, sings extra to the Lord with joy. I love all of your cardinals shares and that was going to be my instinct because thanks to a lot of you I know the cardinal is often an angel messenger bird of God. Same with, Doves, of course. I also like simple sparrows and hummingbirds.

:grouphug:and extra❤ to all dealing with more emotional decisions right now. Never easy to do. Keep in them prayer, rest and in the Lord, be still, as was the focus of today's worship, and always, always, know all of us are here and care!

Waiting on Amazon for a few deliveries right now. I'm planning a new surprise project. Terri's birthday is a few days before Easter this year. She is such a kind friend to so many. I thought it would be fun and an extra way to say thank you, to put together for her a birthday basket. Dad will be going sometime soon to the Dollar Tree and can find one. I'll get mutual friends to contribute :)

Have a good rest Sunday, friends and please take care of yourself!

I saw a male and a female out at the feeder just a little while ago. Saw a bluejay this morning..they are coming back here early! No robins yet though~~

I've got several robins hanging out. They don't go to the feeder but they do visit my yard and dig or peck at where I've had a little veggie garden.

I always have a pair of cardinals, and sometimes I've had up to 4 pairs - 8 birds at one time. They are territorial and drive one another away. But when it's winter and food is scarcer they seem to tolerate one another a little better. For years I had one male that I called Charlie. He was recognizable in a way that he cocked his head and he always flew in from a certain area. He would feed his young right in front of me if I put seed closer to the house, and then drive them off when they were able to look after themselves.

The cardinals always seem to come out in the dawn hours. First birds at the feeders, and prefer to eat on the ground, or on a flat feeder. Sometimes I would go out at night to put some food so I could watch them eat first in the morning. I've gotten lazy about that since Charlie and his mate are no longer here. But if I see the newer ones I'll try to get out a little earlier.

Recently I've had red winged blackbirds, european starlings, tufted titmouse, black capped chickadee, goldfinch (just not gold right now), house finch, sparrows, a few different woodpeckers, juncos, wrens, nuthatches, many mourning doves, grackles and an occasional hawk or two. The wrens like the cat's food, the dry stuff and will fly right up to the window to grab a piece from the bowl, if Kitty Kitty leaves anything.

I haven't seen any jays and I would know because their call is so distinctive. I also haven't seen mockingbirds lately and they are usually always around. They sit on the fence but don't go to the feeders either. Love listening to them!

QOTD: What is your favorite bird? 🕊(Besides the Quacker Duckie?)

I, myself, will have to think about that a bit. Ok to have more than one!

I like the colorful ones, like bluebirds, cardinals, rainbow lorakeets; but I'm not a big bird watcher. We used to feed hummingbirds at my grandpa's place when I was a kid; he lived up in the Colorado Rockies, and had at least 10 flittering around outside his trailer windows every summer.

Sadly, it seems I can only find ducks and geese, and an occasional ibis around my new place. The ducks and geese chase everything else off.

pea-n-me, sometimes king cakes are filled with custard or jams, this one is basically almond flavored with Cinnamon swirl.

The colors of purple, green and gold symbolize, justice, faith and power.

You find them from feast of Three Kings up to Mardi Gras!

Our son and daughter-in-law hosted a Mardi Gras party in their Houston neighborhood yesterday, and it seems no one ever responds in the negative. As parents, we just get pictures! :)

❤that you named the birds, Pineapple and Mango, Lynn! So cute. Could you take their picture sometime? :)

Wow, Judique, you know a lot about the different types of birds, that's very cool. I wouldn't know the difference between one and another, I admit.

I truly hope you are enjoying your celebration, Bobbi and feeling better, too, my friend :)

@PollyannaMom So glad you got to see your DS today! Let us know how it went. I’m sure he was thrilled with homemade cookies, as will his buddies be (if he shares)...

Well, that got changed again. - Life of college students, you know. DS was swamped with work and called to ask if we could postpone. (I didn't mention the cookies - we ate some and put some in the freezer.)

We salvaged our day by going out to lunch anyway and then having a movie date here at home.

DH likes the show "Diners Drive-ins and Dives" so we occasionally go to places from the show's website (either around here or when traveling). Today we ended up at this one in Providence, and had a great time! It had a very old-school diner vibe - with the spinning thing to hold the paper orders and everything.

The movie we watched was "Marry Me" and we really enjoyed it!

We tend to have cardinals, blue jays, chickadees, and even a small woodpecker. But the coolest ones we've seen this year were bluebirds! Not very common here at all, but I confirmed with a little bird book I have.

Definitely owls!

Hi everyone! We arrived back this afternoon. I see that I've missed a lot. I've only read through a couple of posts, have to catch up.

DH and I were able to get to his sister's house before she passed away. She opened her eyes when he walked in and acknowledged his presence but was unable to speak. She spent most of the time asleep, passing away early Friday morning. We stayed Friday and Saturday in the area and spent the days at her house with her children, grandchildren, all of their dogs and DH's other sister and one of his brothers. It was a lovely time reminiscing in DH's sister's home.

@Kirby I m sorry for your loss. I am glad you and DH got there before she passed. I hope you had the comfort of family with you and reminiscing.

It is a warmer day here today, 32 with temps going into the 40s. Good walking weather. I have to work, no holiday for me. I may do some shopping after work at CVS or Target. I need Easter baskets for the grandkids while there is a good selection.

Have a nice day.

@Kirby Sorry for your loss.

It's 46 out right now; have a high of 79, but cloudy, heading our way.

Welp, my sister (the one who lost her husband last month) and her youngest got Covid, lost their place (because she lost Bil's disability money), and had to move into her oldest's house. I had a whole thing typed up about it, and decided I didn't want to deal with that mess, so deleted it; but let's just say, a lifetime of bad decisions has caught up with her again, and now her children are again paying the price. >:(>:(>:(>:(

Anyways, I went through the broken tubs of Christmas, and moved them into new boxes; and put them on a shelving unit in the garage. The tubs were...geez, about 27 years old; I bought them at Wmart when DD#2 was just about 2 or 3, for $5 each, so I got my money's worth from them. LOL I only had two broken ornaments (one in the box, and I dropped one that had hooked to my glove and didn't notice it), and one broken light. I still need to take all the bulbs off the bad strings, and cut/toss those, but that can wait for another day. I also consolidated two more boxes, that had memory stuff in them...old baby clothes from each child; old cards; report cards and papers from the kids; a rosary and prayer book my grandpa gave me; magazines from the OKC bombing/Diana accident/Broncos Super Bowl apperances; stuff from high/middle school, etc. So got to take a short trip down memory lane. Also unpacked another 3 boxes in the house; I have to wait for the pegs for the shelf to get here today before I get the last box of books and decor unpacked!

We had those little frozen appetizer tacos and salad for lunch; and ordered Popeye's for dinner (Spicy chicken sammie and cajun mashed potatoes FTW). Tonight is the pork tenderloin that MIGHT be thawed enough to slice and cook, finally! At least I know the fridge is working, lol. I'm doing a dry rub of some sort, and tossing it in the mini oven, with some roasted veggies. Tomorrow, we are having meatball subs and salad.

I'm going to move all the empty boxes towards the garage car door, so I can move some stuff around; right now, they are all just tossed in, willy nilly. I have to move the big wire shelf over by the other wire shelf I put Christmas on, so I can put all DH's tools and the old camping gear up on it. I need to go get another shelf, so I can move the board games and puzzles out there as well, but we are doing that this weekend. Also, I need to sweep the house, and put up dishes that I washed yesterday.

I'm off to finish the pot of coffee (don't judge, it fills DH's big coffee mug from Wawa, and makes 1-1/2 cups for me; it's a small pot), then need to get moving on the garage. Have a good day, y'all!

No judgement here! - We have a Keurig, and even though we recycle the little pods, we still seem to go through an awful lot of them. :rotfl:

Good Monday morning! :sunny:

Today should be a nice day but we are expecting a lot of rain tomorrow.

Survived working all weekend, nothing unexpected or unusual, just a nice, calm weekend. I discovered a show on Netflix called "Love is Blind". OMG, what a bunch of train wrecks. I don't normally watch these dating shows but I got sucked in.

Bianca and Bernard - glad to hear that your back is better and that you were able to get the garage organized.

Kirby - sorry for your loss. I'm glad you made it in time to say good-bye.

QOTD: I like to see cardinals and blue birds in my yard. They say cardinals are visits from someone who's passed so I like to think that my mom and dad are stopping by. My dad loved feeding hummingbirds. I thought of getting a hummingbird tattoo when I got their initials on my arm (went with a palm tree instead). I don't see many blue birds around so I like when they stop by my yard.

Not much else happening, guess I'll get back to work. Have a great day!
