I’m so glad you got to see your son and DDIL yesterday, Carol. Smart "baby" already knowing he/she wants chocolate ice cream 🍨 Too funny.

Hug, Mom B&B, prayers for safe travels for your son and daughter’s friend. I hope you get some good things at Sam’s Club. Dad and I joined once years ago when we got a free trial membership coupon at Walmart. Always a good idea to stock up while you can. I hope you do something nice for yourself this weekend, my friend:flower3:

Hooray for a clean car, Lynn! :car:
God Bless you dear Pea and thank you for wanting to give a loving home to another dog :dogdance:. So glad your DD is feeling good. Tell her to please save me a cupcake! Hug and prayer to your DS.

:hug:Easyas, you and your DH definitely have huge dog hearts! You know, always, I thank you for that.

Beautiful afternoon here. I'm looking at the weekend Hallmark schedule. Love Takes Flight is on tomorrow night at 6. It was a touching movie. Sweet grandparent type friendship between an elderly man and little girl.

Tazdev Thoughts and prayers for your grandson. I hope all goes well.

Today while I was working a little voice in my ear told me to call the real estate agent and just talk with him and ask questions about selling and buying. It was an insistent voice. I texted younger DS and told him and he said just call and get the process going. I have been thinking about the guy who is looking at my house tomorrow and it has been bothering me and I didn't know why. I called the agent and we had a good talk. I told him my long sad story and that I had one guy coming to look at the house tomorrow and then I would call the agent back. He asked me very seriously if he could guess the name of the guy. It is the guy I have coming over tomorrow. Now this real estate agent is very experienced, was recommended to me by people who have hired him to sell and buy for them, and he has a stellar reputation. He told me this guy is trying to buy up properties all over the town. And his offers are much less than market, not just a little less. And this guy is very insistent. I am disappointed mainly because this guy seemed up front and all the years he has done work for us he has been fine. Chris liked him alot. Chris always thought the best of people while I can be a bit skeptical of people sometimes. But, I think Chris is looking out for me now. This agent told me how the market is in the town and to please not sign anything with this guy until I talk with him and he can let me know if the offer is a good one, which is unlikely. My younger DS will be with me tomorrow while the guy is at the house and I am going to just tell him that I am looking at all my options and I need to do what is best for me. Also I will let him know my sons will be making the decision with me. Younger DS has been telling me what I can most likely get for the house and it is more than I was thinking. He was right. I guess I have to listen to him. So I am going to have this agent look at the house and let me know a fair market price. Then he can look for me and sell my house too. I told him I want to sell and move into a new place at the same time. He reassured me that most people do it that way and he would be sure it worked for me. I was having trouble emotionally thinking of selling the house but I realize the main reason was the if I sell my house without a place to go to then I don't have a home. I need to go to a new place where I can start a new chapter in my life with Chris (and Jasper) in spirit. My son understood what I was saying. DS told me that cleaning out the house was like ripping a bandaid off time after time after time and I have not been able to take care of me and move along in grieving. I need a place to do that. And he said he would be there to help me along. So, I am going into tomorrow with a grain of salt and will be pleasant and noncommittal. I am so glad I listened to that insistent little voice. Thanks Chris! Sorry for the long story but it is a life lesson, at least for me.

Nice walking weather today. I actually could wear my fleece today instead of a winter jacket. Tomorrow I get to see my younger DS's kids and give them their Valentine goodies. I have a couple of books, candy, and snacks. They love getting these treats.

Have a good rest of the day.

@Snowysmom--I am glad your son will be with you tomorrow when the guy comes to look at the house. Sounds like he will try and put pressure on you to sell it to him at a not fair market value. Stand your ground, you don't have to sell it to the first person who looks at it, even if it means going with a real estate agent and not selling it to just anyone.

I can't believe it, but it's 66 degrees outside. I just did some of the outdoor things I never got to in the fall when I wasn't feeling good. I cut back the spearmint, cut back the grape vines and cut back my rose bushes. Went for a long walk, and got all my exercise in, so it will be burgers on brioche buns, Nathans french fries (my favorite) and a salad.
Have a nice evening all

Sometimes your gut/intuition really helps guide you. Glad you are getting good advice.
Nathans french fries
Oh man, I LOVE those...with mayo, mmmmmmm. Dang it, I wonder if I have any in the freezer downstairs?

🙏🌺Snowysmom, I am so glad your son will be with you tomorrow. It sounds like you have a fantastic real estate agent who truly cares as well. Have fun with your grandkids tomorrow! To me, intuition and just plain knowing in your heart something is the right choice or the way to go, are all they are an extra part of God's still small voice reaching out to you. Let Him continue to guide you, Snowysmom and know He forever will. I LOVE how Chris is making certain you also know that he is with you extra during your home selling process. All will be well, my friend.

So glad you got to get out a little in the sunshine, Lynn. Enjoy your dinner, my friend.

ITA, Easyas, we absolutely have intuitive feelings for a reason! I hope you get to enjoy some fries sometime soon. 🍟

What a productive, and very enjoyable day!

We watch Jeopardy every night! I hope your shoulder is feeling better bobbi!

Productive day, Snowysmom!

Tonight I made Creamy Lemon Chicken Pasta (from foodsbible on IG.) . It was pretty good. Next time I would make a little more sauce and put it over the chicken, too, and I would use tenders if I could find them (today we could not).

Saute 2 seasoned (salt, pepper, garlic powder) chicken breasts in a little olive oil and butter until cooked through. Remove chicken and add 1 tsp fresh chopped garlic to oil and bits in pan from chicken. After garlic browned, add fresh lemon juice from one lemon, 1/2c white wine, 1/2c cream, and 1Tsp dried parsley to pan. Stir. When a little thickened, add 1/2c shredded mozzarella cheese, and stir until thickened. (Do not boil or cream can curdle.) Pour sauce over close to a pound of rotini pasta and stir with a little crushed red pepper (which I forgot). Serve with sliced chicken on top and more dried parsley. Everyone liked it and it was fairly simple. 👍🏻

I used to watch Jeopardy all the time with Alex Trebek. I am finding the new hosts a bit of a challenge to get used to. Once I get settled somewhere I will give it another chance.

Good morning. Another warm day coming up. I am off to the house. I have to be pleasant and say nothing much to the guy looking at the house today. I am good at that. Then I load up my car with more boxes for older DS's house. We are trying to clear out the stuff we are taking just leaving minimal items. Younger DS and I will get the furniture moved a bit for the carpet cleaner in Friday. We can't move everything and it really does not matter as long as the main areas get done. Then I will see the other 3 grandkids. So looking forward to seeing them.

Have a good day.

My mind still expects to hear Alex Trebek when they announce the host!

You are getting so much done. I appreciate reading about all you are doing.

As far as me, it’s really the muscles in my upper arm that need healing. Every day I can move my arm a bit more. I go out with DH to walk a bit outside using my right hand on my cane. It’s slow going.

Good morning all. When I got up at 6, it was sprinkling lightly and almost 50 degrees. Now it's 44, says the high will be 45. Its sunny in the front of the house, and pitch black sky in the back..so weird looking

To answer the Jeopardy question. Its set to tape everynight and we added the College one to record for the length it's on. I miss Alex Trebek. I didn't care for Mayim when she started, but now she's okay. I still like Ken Jennings doing it more though

People really are 'stalking' Chewy. Yesterday I was looking around..and found 2-24 can packs of the flavors our cats like. Put those in my cart along with some bags of treats to get the free shipping. It was shipped 30 min later and will be here today. This morning at 6:02 I get an email that the Stuffed and Sauced was back in stock. Cats love that, but it costs more so they only get it on special days. I immediately clicked the shop now button and put the 2 (only amount they would let you get), and added a 24 can thing of Mariners Catch. Went to check out..and there was only 1 Sauced and Stuffed left in stock , so I got the other one, the Mariners Catch and more cat treats to get free shipping. Went back and clicked on all the canned food I got yesterday, and the ones this morning,,and they were all out of stock. That took all of 4 minutes for people to grab it while they could..geez :(

Only 9 am and I am already tired, lol. Stripped and remade the bed, washed the sheets, mattress cover and blanket. Have a load of clothes in now. Took down the bird feeders and put clean ones up, put the others to soak in bleach water. Made Mr L's breakfast, fed the cats, did the dishes, and cleaned the litter boxes. Those may be all the chores I do today. He wants chili for dinner, so he will make that. I defrosted some boneless chicken thighs and have them marinating in Italian dressing. Tomorrow will be ribs, homemade coleslaw and baked potatoes, and I will bake a batch of Ghirardelli brownies.

Have a nice day everyone!

Good morning.

We had a nice time at Longwood last night. A very different look at night and the type of flowers displayed. And it wasn't really cold for walking around. They had about 3000 luminaries out in the conservatory and on the walkways.

This morning just chores in the house, including the basement. Getting the tax info together to go to the accountant on Monday. Planning an outside hike later today.

Creamy Lemon Chicken Pasta
That looked delicious.

Regarding Jeopardy, we rarely watch. Started watching Better Call Soul on Netflix. A rare show that interests both DH and me.

Trying to clean up my desk a little and keep getting sucked into the computer.

Good Morning,

Grandma loved Jeopardy with Alex Trebeck. she would watch that and Wheel of Fortune back-to-back from 7-8pm. Many, many years later, my elderly friend Sue and I would watch Jeopardy that she had DVR-ed when I would spend the night at her house. Sue lives very close to church. She very kindly had me stay over sometimes before summer camps or Easter/Christmas so I wouldn't have a very late night or early morning commute. Otherwise, I admit, to not really watching Jeopardy. It is hard to imagine it without Alex. As a kid, I loved him on Classic Concentration which is now on BuzzR.

A little cooler this morning but still so nicely warm :sunny: We're expecting a few packages today 📦 I hope Amazon brings their two packages (separate orders) to us this time. You all know I appreciate so very much all delivery people extra right now! I always feel so badly when someone is out delivering late at night. Earlier this week, on two back-to-back nights, we were expecting 2 different Amazon orders. If we don't hear the package being delivered, I will check the tracking on it. That was how both nights I saw that the items said "delivered." We sure did not get them. Checking "all updates," showed pictures of where the items were left. The first night it was left upstairs at the front of the building. We live downstairs sort of in the middle. The second night it was left at the building next door! Dad only thought to go check there because it wasn't anywhere here and this has happened before with the resident of the next door building with the same apartment # as us, getting our deliveries. We did let Amazon know! Hopefully today all goes smoothly.

Keeping you in extra peaceful prayer today, Snowysmom.

Love to all! Happy Saturday.

Afternoon bump and :wave2:Hi

Amazon delivered both packages already right to our door, much appreciated! The delivery guy had a huge square container with him. I am guessing it was on wheels and held a ton of deliveries. I didn't really look. Now waiting for FedEx and the snail mail.

Lovely warm Saturday here. I pray there is some type of cheer this afternoon for all of dear you.

News News News!!

DS and DIL had us over for lunch. They were wanting to share a big announcement!

DIL is pregnant! They got married last September and wanted to have a baby right away as time is passing quickly.

'She' will be coming on or about August 24th and already has a name but we are not allowed to guess.

We are all excited for them and I am looking forward to another granddaughter.

Good Afternoon. I do read everyone's posts but don't always remember to reply. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as needed.

Thank you everyone for the prayers and well wishes for Anthony. Still no date for surgery but I would expect it to be soon. Thankfully my daughter applied for the FMLA at work and will be able to take the time, WITH PAY, to care for him post op.

I had a fight with my mom over this all with Anthony. My mom is a very difficult person at times. Her way of showing care and concern is negativity. She had a rough relation with my grandmother growing up but seriously it is too much at times. When I mentioned Anthony was so upset over missing baseball her response was "life is tough, he might as well face that now!" She doesn't care about sports and never has. I was always amazed she let me play when I was in school. Anthony is what I call a "Golden Child". He is a straight A student, tremendously gifted with athletics, good looking, polite, caring, everything you could want in a son/grandson. I don't get her attitude and of course my daughter is very angry. She doesn't want me passing on any information about her boys. I know my daughter will calm down and I will respect her wishes and keep it to a bare minimum, but it will put me in trouble with my mom AGAIN! She thinks I spend too much time at their sporting events anyway. We have very different priorities. I want my grandkids to remember fondly and that I was ALWAYS there for them when I am gone one day. My mom sadly will not be remembered that way and it does bother me honestly.

The house is coming along but we hit a delay with our timing. Jay didn't have any help this past week beyond the one day. I took advantage and have more stuff to be tossed or donated. The drywall goes up Monday and then the electrician can come back out. We should be able to paint by next weekend and the floors the following week or weekend. I may have to delay the furniture delivery a couple days but by the time Outlander premieres Season 6 I should be able to watch it in the comfort of my new downstairs.

My daughter is 35 today. I can't believe that my baby is that old. She was a bit of a handful as a teenager because she was very stubborn. She was a HS drop out, with my blessing for a lot of reasons, but she got her GED, went to college and nursing school and then got her bachelor's degree all while raising 3 boys, 2 of whom were toddlers. She has turned into an amazing daughter, mother, wife, nurse, woman. I am very proud of her and who she has become. I do make sure she knows it every now and again.

Well almost time for dinner. Hope you all have a nice evening.
