Just need to vent...we got home around 2:30a this morning. DH drove first half and I took over the last half while he slept a little off and on....the dogs are super happy were home. :lovestruc Slept in a little but not as long as I had hoped so that might be why I'm annoyed....lol DH got a call from work while I was sleeping that his machine got damaged and will be down the whole weekend so he needs to head back up first thing tomorrow morning. I'm a little upset he has to leave way sooner than he was expecting. I know I shouldn't be annoyed since it's his job and he can't help it but I am, especially since I can't go with him this week. He trying to get everything he needs to do here at home today....buy me a new battery, buy and replace the water heater...ugh. Maybe I need to go meditate and then take a nap to change my attitude. :sad2:

Put on some happy music and dance around the house..or quiet music and meditate. Sorry he got called back so soon, that sucks! Hope your mood improves,,if not , feel free to come back and vent anytime you need to!

Love the zoo pictures! We took the kids to the zoos all the time when they were little...Phoenix, Denver, San Diego, and Jacksonville.

We ponied up the $30 and paid for Jungle Cruise on D+. It was worth it...I don't want to give away any of the plot, so I'll just say it was an action-adventure-comedy-with-a-dark-turn-that-we-expect-from-Disney. Tomorrow, we're renting Fast 9, and that should hold us until next week, when we get new episodes on D+ of Marvel Legends, and the week after that What If.

Making chicken thighs with BBQ sauce, and Mexican street corn for dinner. I think tomorrow, I'll make something sweet; maybe some banana caramel bread or a cake. It's been awhile since I've done that.

I really didn't lose much this week, only .4 lbs; but that is better than gaining! Sunday, I'll get back on track and spend some time walking; hopefully the heat goes away. It's in low-mid 90s, but feels hotter.

Off to finish washing our bedding, and then I think I'll take a soak in the tub. (Unless we get our usual storms...then I may put it off until tonight, and pour myself some wine to take with me!)

DS mentioned wanting to see it, and I meant to ask him this morning if he wants to get it on D+ or go to the theater. Either way, probably tomorrow!

I haven't ordered anything on Premier Access yet - is it one viewing or unlimited?

My turn for a vent from Amazon! :( All of you know I am not a complainer, this was horrible customer service by a supervisor no less! The supervisor claimed there was nothing he could do. He could not cancel our order completely, not issue a full refund, not even transfer my dad to someone else. Zip. All we can do according to this person is wait for our box of a product that still says 1 day free shipping with Prime or by next week without Prime--we no longer have Prime but did at the time of ordering earlier in the week. Yet according to this person, is not currently available :P I also don't have to tell any of you, friends, how I feel about honesty! Don't do drama or lies. Only truth and joy :) Small stuff just frustrating!

Love how you put that, Snowysmom.

So glad you enjoyed the Jungle Cruise movie, B&B. Happy you had a treat.

PollyannaMom, I hope you and your DS will also enjoy the movie either at home or in theater ;)

Finally got water delivered around 1:15 but it took DH until 2:30 to decide to get up and go turn on the pump. So far water has been ran in the toilet and one sink in the master bath which are on the far end of the house from the pump so hopefully the air is out of the line and thus no sput sput sput sputtering and hissing. DH located a 2nd window air conditioner/fan that is portable to put in the window next to my chair tonight when it's cooler. These are ones that we had in the rental that we lived in before the house was built that we used in the bedrooms with using box fans in the kitchen windows and we had a larger window air conditioner that came with the house. Not that it worked as it was only cool if it was on full blast and you were 2.5 feet or less from the unit.

Hi, everyone. DS is doing OK. Thanks again for all the prayers and support!
im not sure they really figured out what caused it all, and his PCP had to move his follow-up to next week, but he is eating again and going about life as normal, so mom can breathe again!
That's wonderful!

:rotfl2:

The foot is doing better. The infection is clearing up nicely with the meds and the toe isn't hurting as much. Keeping it taped for another couple days. I am not thrilled wearing the flip flips. It's hard to drive in them.
Glad to hear your foot is doing better! I don't care for flip flops either. I used to wear the kind that had the part between your toes and an ankle strap though when I was young. I don't know why I stopped wearing them.

Lynn, talking about your DH's rehab brings back so many memories of my mom and her last hip revision. That hip replacement lasted almost 30 years and it was almost too bad to fix but this amazing doctor did. She was in rehab at a fantastic place Zale Lipshy for two weeks and I did the same thing that you are doing, being there for the therapy sessions. Then we put hardibacker over her carpet so that she could maneuver around her house in a wheelchair. For awhile all the pressure she could put on the ground with that leg was less than it would take to crush a Lay's potato chip. There was a time that I thought caring for my parents as they aged would never end and now that it has, I feel.........I don't know how to explain it.

It has been hot today. Was 91 at 11:00 am. I don't know what the high temp was, maybe a couple degrees over 100 and that depends on where you were. My WeatherBug app says that its 95 right now and feels like 120. But the app that's on my home page on my phone says its 93 right now and feels like 102. All I know is I'm not going out to check and see which ones right.

Dinner tonight was chicken cornbread casserole with peas/carrots.

We took a 2 mile hike out to the Turkey Point Lighthouse this afternoon. Tried to get steamed crabs for dinner but too expensive so I steamed shrimp instead.

Tomorrow we are getting up and leaving for Cape Henlopen early again. Car is loaded and lunch made. Meeting DD and family there.

Have a good evening and good weekend everyone.

Anyone else order way too much for a resturant delivery than you can eat because you were really hungry when you ordered and the food is so good. Ordered from a soup and salad place that is local to me through uber eats. Managed to get through part of the pasta salad-13 year old had the other part as it was spaghetti, brocolli, parmasan cheese and a ceasar dressing (don't tell her that though) and tomatoes which I asked if they could leave those off. It looked like it had till I got down to the very bottom of the container and there was one small piece. Luckily I did not have a reaction. Had half of my grill cheese on wheat made with provolone cheese. As well as my large baked potato chowder with bacon. I still have to eat the 4 breadsticks that came with my part of the order, a large taco salad-they make it without tomatoes but do include a couple containers of salsa which with my tomato allergy I am not touching, a couple containers of sour cream and of course 3 dressings of your choice with all lage salads, a large summer salad-it has a spinach base, with red onions, mandarine oranges, craisins, feta cheese, and walnuts, a large clam chowder and a large mushroom soup to eat along with a potato salad. I am also working on drinking my large sweet tea.
In my defense I love the food there plus all I had all day was a blueberry muffin and the corner edge of a banana nut muffin which is sitting on the end table beside my chair. I am thinking as I get some energy to get up and move a bit I might start moving stuff to the fridge to enjoy later, perhaps tomorrow.

Good evening to all.

sweetpeama- Glad to hear you have water again. I also can relate on ordering too much food. We are really bad about eating leftovers here, so I try not to over order, as anything left seems to go to waste. I wish I could get better about using up leftovers or being able to make them into something ”new”, but alas, my cooking skills are not that creative. I am not a good cook. I honestly feel cooking is like a lot of things, some people just have the “gift” of being able to prepare or whip up delicious meals/food. I mean, anyone can cook, just like anyone can sing, but that doesn’t mean they do it well. :confused3 Hope that makes a little sense.

Breezy Carol- Enjoy your trip, sounds like a fun get away.

flyingdumbo- Sorry to hear about your issues with Amazon. I usually have very good luck with their customer service, but every once in awhile I run into issues. Hope, you are able to get your issue solved soon.

pea-n-me - I hope ,your party went well. Sounds like you deserve a day or 3 of rest and relaxation.

The heat did break finally. I think we are on track for cooler temps for a week before things start to get super sticky again.

My dad called this evening to let me know that it is zuchinni season again as in he has a bunch of large ones in the garage fridge that need to find a home and is hinting at me to come get some to process them. I said I was interested in some smaller ones to fry up on the stove but I was not doing any in the oven as it was too hot especially with the air conditioning not working. He was thinking more of put it in the freezer and make zuchinni bread this fall and winter. From what he found out when he had their air conditioner repaired in late May/early June we are looking at December before they can get anything in places are that far out. I put a call into the installer of ours to see where things are at with them. It is so bad their answering machine says that they are being indidated with calls and to leave a message if you can and if it full to try back later as they will work to get it cleared out. Hopefully I hear back from them but sometime this weekend or first part of next week.

Makes sense to me. I don't have the gift but I can cook.

That's wonderful!

No need to explain, I think I have an inkling of what you feel like. Probably some of the same thoughts I have now and then :(

Too hot! Hope it cools down some for you..we are only going to hit 80 or so today, will be a relief after the hot week we've had too!

Dinner tonight was chicken cornbread casserole with peas/carrots.

If you ever have a few spare minutes, could you share that recipe please? And thanks!

Good morning fellow Quackers..58 out now and feels so nice for a change. Going to be low 80's at least thru Wednesday. I slept from 10 till 1, then woke up with all this stuff going through my mind , what I have to do before Tuesday, how things might be after Tuesday. How we are going to work Drs appts, shopping, etc. The lighted bed rail I ordered from Amazon will be here today, I think I have everything else I need, except the wheelchair, which the hospital is supposed to be taking care of, along with the home care if needed. Not sure if they will be sending an OT,PT person to the house or not. They did last time, but not sure how any of that works with Medicare. Fell back asleep at 3, and woke at 4 with one of the cats trying to pull the cover off me so she could crawl underneath it and sleep next to my legs. I got up and let her have the bed, lol.

Had a little tussle with 3 raccoons this morning, but with the help of the garden hose and water, I won the battle and they left soaking wet and disappeared into the woods.

After I get home this afternoon, I need to run the carpet cleaner over some spots, change the sheets on the bed, and wash the others. Then I am doing a beauty treatment, having my 'summer supper' of ribs and potato salad and corn, and then doing nothing the rest of the evening, hopefully!

Have a nice Saturday morning, if you are in the heatwave, stay cool. If you are in the cool down, enjoy it!

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I'm sitting outside enjoying the coolness while one of the cats watches a hummingbird flitting back and forth to the feeder.

(I wanted to get them out early because it might be Mosquito Ranger day, and I can't take them out right after they come.)

We are a big leftovers family - like we order too much on purpose so we have lunch the next day. :thumbsup2

As for cooking, I'm a person who can sort of "invent" things, but I'm inspired at the wrong time. Come late afternoon, I'm tired and don't have the creative energy, so I get in a rut way too easily.

@sweetpeama, I think I missed the post about no water, but saw the one that you got it back. That must have been rough, and I'm glad it's fixed!

Lynn, I'm sure you will be ready for Tuesday and he will be glad to be home! I do hope they send you a visiting PT person for a while.

This water delivery talk is bringing back memories… for many years my folks lived somewhere that had no well, they had a rain water cistern and when it didn’t rain for a while they had to have a water barge deliver water there-then hope the water truck in the area was working to get some up to their place! Luckily it usually rained enough!

everyone enjoy their weekend- I’m having my coffee outside and preparing my grocery list- if I was smart I’d have placed a order yesterday, but didn’t.

DS mentioned wanting to see it, and I meant to ask him this morning if he wants to get it on D+ or go to the theater. Either way, probably tomorrow!

It unlocks them permanently, so you can watch as many times as you want. We did Black Widow this way; we wanted to go to a theater, but with the amount of Covid cases spiking around us, we decided it was safer to just stay home.

With that being said (lol), we are going to IHOP for breakfast, because DH wants pancakes, and I don't want to cook!

I'm also not a cooking fan at all. I do enjoy helping kids cook or be part of fun kitchen activities like at Christmas :)

Stay cool indeed those of you in heat and take Mickey's advice to enjoy the day with those you love!

I re-watched 12 Gifts of Christmas from last year last night. It was cute again, a bit dragged out and had an obvious conflict at the end as lol sometimes only Hallmark movies do. Did anyone else who watched this wonder why (or did I miss something)? Anna's dad never said a word in the scenes with her family? Her mother spoke as does her sister and nieces and BIL. I'm not sure I noticed that the first time around but it seemed odd yesterday.

Hugs, B&B, I sadly think staying home was the smart decision. Covid cases sure are spiking out here :( Please stay safe friends!

Happy Saturday🐥
