Where ya goin'?

Well youngest thought the deck at Fisherman’s was open and wanted to go there... they don’t open till next month so I told him we could do Fisherman’s regular restaurant or go to Harris’s if he was looking for casual. He picked Harris’s... I wouldn’t have minded Hemingway’s but I figured he was thinking casual = a more laid back meeting, and so that’s fine.

It got up to 79 today, felt so nice outside. The skies were clear and sunny. There's a slight chance of a pop up storm over night. DH would like it to rain, he put out grass fertilizer/weed killer because our neighbor said it was going to.

Not a lot of goings on today. Cleaned our bathroom, changed the sheets on our bed and washed sheets and towels. I just piddled around, took pictures out of frames that were my moms and packed the frames to take to Helping Hands. I got to read some today in a quiet house, that doesn't happen very often. DD and the GK's were out and about. I'm reading Ken Follet's Winter of the World, the second book in the Century Trilogy. I enjoy a good, big book and it does not disappoint, nor did the first one. DH and I went to late lunch/early dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We haven't been in over a year and I'm good for another year. With staying home so much over the last year I don't care for the loud restaurants any more. They didn't use to bother me..........

@moorhunhe, hugs to you. One day you'll get to go home and it will be all the sweeter.

Speaking of meeting our SO, my sister met her current husband online. She went through some dating website. Her name is Barbara and his intro was "Hi Barbie, this is Ken!". His name is actually Ken. Well, that's all it took and they have been 12 years. Her first marriage lasted 27 so I wish the best for both of them.

@Breezy_Carol, hugs to you too. Keeping your family in my prayers.

Just dropped in and to say Hi and to say I have found classical music so relaxing in lockdown.
This song makes you think you are the lark flying around the skies.
It’s a few minutes of escapism.
I hope someone likes it

Taking my inspiration from @Ruttangel here, I was driving to work yesterday and this song, Willoughby, came up on my playlist. I enjoyed it and thought I would share it with all of you. It’s from Sense and Sensibility, one of my favorite movies. (I’m betting that a lot of you like that movie, too.) I hope you enjoy the tune. :lovestruc

And in case anyone wanted to watch the clip from the movie:

A little trivia: Emma Thompson married the actor who played Willoughby, and they met on the set of Sense and Sensibility!

It is cold today *brrr*, it's very sunny, but it's extremeley windy.

In such a mood today :( all this talking about vaccines, originally we're not supposed to get one until after summer, since none of us are in the vulnirable groups, and it looks more and more like it, we are not allowed to do anything until we get one.
We were supposed to go to my parents for Easter, for 2 weeks, leaving tomorrow, and I'm so upset that it's the 3rd trip we were supposed to go since last year.
They live overseas, and I am missing home like crazy. I live in England now for 2 years, as my boyfriend is British, but meh, it's not going great at all, so knowing I was supposed to be home for 2 weeks, is so hurtfull :(
And I might not be able to go untill 2022 even, depending on how vaccinations go + how things are back home, as the UK will start going out of lockdown 3 soon, my parents have just entered their 3rd lockdown a few days ago.

Sorry, bit of a low point today.
It also didn't help, that last night we watched the very last episodes of "Call me Kat" and "Superstore", I cried so much at the ending of Superstore, haha, it was so nice ❤
Your not the only one to feel sad, I am in a situation that I can't get out of. So just be joyful that you are around people who love even when you can't trave;

Good morning QUACK'ers. It will be quacker day here, as they are calling for rain. Fine by me, I did a little too much yesterday, and am stiff and sore this morning. The older I get, the less I can do at one time I guess. Will be taking it easier today for sure. Hubby still feeling okay. He only got up once during the night, so that's a plus. Will be back later to check in, just wanted to be the first to get this bumped up this morning. Have a great day everyone~~

Texas Roadhouse. We haven't been in over a year and I'm good for another year

I feel the exact same way about Texas Roadhouse! They are everywhere around here-

It will be quacker day here, as they are calling for rain

I had a lie in this morning and got up around 8 AM and it's coming down in buckets here at the moment. I didn't pay attention to the weather but looks like on & off pretty much all rain today. Glad I got the fields mowed yesterday, they are going to green right up.

Have a good morning all -

As I was outside feeding the cats at 4:30, I saw a light shine in the distance. It started to sprinkle. I came in and all of a sudden it was pouring and there was a thunderstorm right on top of us. The first crack made both me and the inside cats jump! Its still sprinkling, but looks like it's trying to clear up. The grass is growing by leaps and bounds, I was hoping to make it another 2 weeks before having to mow, but at the rate it's going, it will need to be done this week.:( I think I was tired. Lack of enough sleep this week I guess. I laid down on the couch after hubby got up and was doing the puzzle, having his yogurt, tea and taking meds. That was about 6:15, I just woke up at 8, and went back to sleep for another 45 minutes.. Now he's sound asleep in his chair, all the cats are asleep., and I feel like I could take another nap too, lol.

oh..and we have another wind advisory for 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 4 AM EDT MONDAY. 20-30 mph winds, gusts to 55. Nooooooo!
.

I haven't been home since December 2019, in the meantime my dad was also on ICU last year Easter with the virus, once he got home, my mom ended up in hospital (not virus, other things), and we've tried 4 times already to go, hoping things would have improved by now.
I've never ever been one to be emotional when seeing family, but next time, I'm pretty sure I'm going to cry my eyes out.

I know I'm not the only one in a situation like that, and I feel for everyone that is, I really do.

Good Morning, Quacker friends,

I was so glad to read of more rest for some of you, I slept well, too.

I'm also grateful some of yesterday's warmth is still in the apartment this morning. it is supposed to get into the 80's today.

Hugs, to all in general and those who could use extra cheer! Please do remember we all care right here.

Wishing all of you Palm Sunday Blessings.

I have been watching Hallmark movies here and there. There is one actress, Rachel Boston, who is in a few movies. I find I usually like those movies. In a couple of weeks there will be one called Luck of the Irish. At least I think that is the name. The main actress played Reba's oldest daughter Cheyenne in the sitcom. She was also one of the wives in Astronaut's Wives Club. I like her and hope the movie is good.

I saw that one advertised and am looking forward to it as well.

QOTD ( I 'borrowed' it from another thread)
Do you have any Good luck" charms in your home?

We have a starfish we found on the beach when we got married--its on a shelf with sand from the same beach (in a small bottle), and a seashell. I consider them good luck. I also have a starfish necklace hubby gave me that I wear when I need extra luck

Now that the afternoon is half over, the sun just popped out and the temp went up from 56 to 62. Now that everything is soaked from this mornings rains, noone can do much outside. Neighbor has his smoker going,,smells like brisket, mmm..

Sister in law still complaining about not feeling well after second dose of vaccine. She has a temp of 100, a headache, her arm is stiff, has a red circle around injection site, and is nauseus . I personally think some of it is in her head..as she always thinks she has whatever anyone else has at the time. I told her take tylenol, keep hydrating and resting, and call her Dr tomorrow if she still doesn't feel well.

Dinner 'was' going to be from the Italian place tonite,,he wanted to try their pizza that has crab dip, shrimp and old bay hot sauce on it..but my stomach is not up to that..and he doesn't feel 100% well to bother getting dressed just to drive over and get it. So it will be batter dipped shrimp, spring rolls, and leftover white rice

Doing absolutely nothing this afternoon but watching a season's worth of Hawaii 5-O I recorded to get my 'Alex' fix,,

15 minutes later--sky got pitch black, and it just dumped down a ton of rain. Now sky is getting lighter again, but you can hear the winds starting to pick up. Stay safe if you are in the storm zone!

Hmmm? Good luck charm? Not exactly, although I do have the flask my grandmother carried with her, still filled halfway with the scotch she had in it when she died 23 years ago- it sits on my sink counter. I will often look at it and have a bit of a conversation with her if something good or bad is going on.

Western MD’s wind has started to make an appearance and it’s getting dark again after the sun made a 15 minute show. I think we are due for thunderstorms later this evening.

Cali is officially up on site if anyone knows anyone who is interested www.snortrescue.org

Had a wonderful lunch w/ youngest and new young lady he is seeing. We thought she was delightful and so nice & smart to boot!
Ate so much for lunch I may skip supper!! Husband caught some perch in the fish trap so he’s having that for supper. His next deployment starts mid May so his regular free time is about to be curtailed a bit.

Time for Cali to have her bath, have a good evening all-

I thought the name of the Hallmark movie was Luck of the Irish but it is As Luck Would Have It. It is on sometime in April. I tried watching Chasing Waterfalls but it didn't hold my interest. I love the movie Sense and Sensibility. I enjoy watching movies starring Jane Austen books. Some versions are better than others.

Younger DS and grandkiddies came over for lunch. We have been invited to their house for Easter brunch next Sunday. I am so happy we are having some semblance of a normal Easter. It is only 7 of us, 4 adults and 3 little ones. It will be nice.

It is rainy and windy here today with the temp around 48.

I can't think of any good luck charms in the house.

Have a nice Sunday afternoon and evening.

Good afternoon, friends :)

It's warm in here! What an extra Sunday Blessing :sunny:

I enjoyed reading your starfish share, Lynn. I miss going to the beach. I used to so enjoy walks on quiet stretches up in small town NorCal.

Hug and thank you again, Easyas, for all you have done and are doing for Cali. Paws and prayers she finds a forever home soon.

What good news, Snowysmom! I am so happy you will get to see your family on Easter.

Cali is adorable!! :lovestruc I hope she finds a great home!

I can’t think of any good luck charms, either. We do have a lot of cherished things around the house that family and friends have given us which, in a way, probably bring good energy. And I once remember my sister, when her son was little, staying here and counting that we had like 28 hearts around the house or something like that. I like hearts! We also have several “Family Is” reminders as pillows and wall hangings. I love those.

Forgot to take a pic of the pasta and meatballs we had last night. I guess I wanted to dig in too fast! Trying to think of what we‘re having tonight - debating between BLT’s with honey maple salad and getting take out, but not really feeling going out in the freezing rain. Decisions, decisions. Fortunately a friend just told us about a place we never tried before. That may be it.

DH and I put together the kids’ Easter baskets the other night, and included one for their boyfriend and girlfriend. I probably bought too much, but I enjoy doing it.
