So yesterday afternoon got topped off with Josh refusing to use the potty ALL DAY...but right before we left for my hair appointment, he peed all over Grandma's recliner. I made him clean that up himself (but you still can't get it all out). I truly think he is doing this because it's the only thing he can control right now. Most days he's good but yesterday he was in quite the mood...
My hairdresser is not closing her salon, thankfully. She is juggling family stuff. She is in her early 50s and was her parents' late-in-life surprise baby; most (if not all) of her siblings are in their 60s, so that's what she's dealing with. The other stylist was also there and said not to worry, that she love the salon and has already told S that she wants it when S decides to give up. I was glad to hear that.
Tonight is the BOE meeting regarding school opening and we will watch it on YouTube. I also received an "opt-in" text from the schools' notification system, so that is my 2nd indication that Josh has been registered. DH did say, however, that he wishes they'd sent out an email to at least the incoming kindergarten parents..."We know you're confused that we haven't contacted you about your child's registration, here's what we're doing right now..."
And then I made cheese and onion summer squash fritters to have with supper. They're pretty good, but need to cook more. I will probably put them in the oven with the chicken tenders that I'm making.
QOTD:
Are you a shopper? Do you enjoy shopping or do you just shop when you need something? Is there a difference for you between online and in store shopping.
For this question, I'm not talking about groceries....
I'm not a huge shopper, although I do love a wander thru Home Goods every once in a great while
I get very discouraged clothes shopping. I'm very short, and even petite jeans/pants can be to long on me sometimes. But a skinny-mini I am not - I will often go into a dressing room so laden down with things to try on, only to come out with nothing that fits! The day I discovered petite cropped pajama bottoms was life changing! ha ha - so for me, when I find pants or jeans that fit, I often buy several pairs of them, resulting in a rather hum-drum and boring wardrobe.
I am a downright sucker for fall - type home decor and any type of porch/patio furniture.
Same....Im 5'1 and DD is only 4'11" but we are not 'petite'....hubby likes to say he's short and chubby instead of big and tall and that describes all of us in this household.

I used to buy crop pants for my regular pants until realized Torrid sells extra short jeans and they fit both DD and I great.
I like shopping for some things but not others. I hate clothes shopping for myself. Like the above posters, I'm short but not petite. I'm basically a hobbit... 5'1" but with very broad shoulders (men's size 42 jackets fit my shoulders comfortably), long waist (regular shirts tend to be too short but tunics are a godsend), and arms and legs so short that 3/4 sleeves are long sleeves and I have a 26" inseam, so even petite length pants are too long. I am totally not joking. Cropped pants that are supposed to hit mid-calf? They're at my ankles. Bermuda shorts that are supposed to hit above the knee are capris.
Love shopping for the Monkey, but he's becoming difficult to fit as well. I have to try on all pants because he's so skinny. Even the Old Navy "karate skinny" (skinnier than "skinny jeans") are still too big! And now he's at that awkward size where he can sometimes take a 4T or 5T, or a straight 4, sometimes he needs a 5, but some things only come in even sizes and a 4 is too small while a 6 is too big. I actually do like Once Upon a Child - the children's resale store - because most people put clothes in the dryer, so I know to go a size up and things will fit because they're shrunk a little
Kohls is my go-to for clothing for all of us (Sonoma for me and Jumping Beans for Josh), plus I like Target and Old Navy for Josh. I love going to Michaels and the Christmas Tree Shops for holiday decor. We still have a music store in town (a mix of new and used CDs and vinyl records), so I like to go there and flip through the records (because CDs just don't hold a candle to scratchy vinyl records!). There is literally nothing left in our mall except Target, a movie theatre (which I don't even know if that's open), a sports collectibles store, and a Bath and Body Works. I loathe the other 2 malls in the vicinity...one of them is just too darn big and you can never find a place to park, the other is getting rather empty and they always have teenagers brawling in there around the holidays.
I try not to shop too much online...I don't want to run up my credit card. Hate having that hanging over my head, plus the interest that you pay is insane. I do order photo gifts from Shutterfly a LOT, but only if I have a good coupon. For example, I have a coupon for a free 8x8 book that expires on Friday, so I'll be ordering Josh's "Age 4-5" book, even though his birthday isn't for another 2 weeks. I buy from Pez.com often for DH, as it's difficult to find dispensers here. I like Lakeside Collection and Victorian Trading Company. I also like to check out ViewYourDeal.com weekly and have found good stuff there - I have a trio of gourmet almonds that should be here soon (I hope...)
