QOTD Wednesday, July 29: Which is your favorite Disney Resort, and why?

I've never been to a Disney resort I didn't like!

Our last trip was split between POFQ and AKL, so right now, those are my favorites.

Re: the pina coladas, we stayed at Poly in 1992, the first visit with kids when they were 4 and 6. On about the last day, we discovered that we could order a drink at the pool and charge on our room card. We got pina coladas and they were some of the best drinks ever. We joked that it was good that we hadn't discovered this earlier in the trip.

Ice cream cake sounds so good! When I was little I loved Baskin and Robbins all ice cream (no cake) cakes! A number of years ago a church friend made me for my birthday an amazing ice cream cake using mint cookie ice cream and ice cream sandwiches+ chocolate sauce, yum!

Ice cream cake sounds so good! When I was little I loved Baskin and Robbins all ice cream (no cake) cakes! A number of years ago a church friend made me for my birthday an amazing ice cream cake using mint cookie ice cream and ice cream sandwiches+ chocolate sauce, yum!

I have made those with the ice cream sandwiches, and they are so good. And a lot less expensive than Carvel, Dairy Queen or Baskin Robbins ones. I even crumbled up oreo cookies between the layers for the 'crunchy layer" like DQ has

Ok - add me to the list of those who live in the Land of Turkey Hill but have NEVER seen a TH ice cream cake .... I am still a bit bitter that our local grocery stores are no longer carrying Yuengling ice cream.

Favorite Disney resort is POFQ. I like that it is relatvely small, the theming is beautiful, and the bus service is good. I also like Boardwalk Villas and Grand Floridian. We had a splurge trip the time we stayed at GF.

I love ice cream cake especially the cookie crumble middle.

It is hard for me to pick a favorite resort. We really love the Dolphin! We also love Coronado Springs (although we haven’t been there since the renovation was completed), POP Century, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Wilderness Lodge, too.

When we go, we like to spend time at other resorts as well as our own. We always rent a car, so when the kids were really little and we had them in car seats in the back, they’d fall asleep after we left the parks, so we’d sometimes shrug our shoulders and keep going, drivIng around to some of the different resorts while they slept. We were new to WDW then and it really was such a magical time exploring all there was to offer! We made mental notes of what we wanted to try, and sometimes we even took turns running inside different places to go to the gift shop or things like that. Later, we loved riding the rails and taking the boats and going to the restaurants, etc. We thought many times about buying DVC but we could always find a bargain somewhere. @apirateslifeforme I might have a couple of ideas for you if you ever want to discuss how to find some good deals for a few nights at the Poly! (Or elsewhere.)

Quick happy update....my friends daughter has been found. She was gone 8 days....I can't even begin to imagine what her poor mother was going through inside. She was trying so hard to keep it together for her other kids and make sure everyone was doing what they could to get her found. She isn't home yet but she is safe and on her way to her momma. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. ❤
