Just above, do you see the A with the arrow pointing down? It is just to the left of that, shaped like a rain drop.

Good Morning Everyone
Let's officially get going with our two QOTD for today thanks to Sparkle:
QOTD for Tuesday #1: Favorite day of the year ( non holiday, birthday, or anniversary) and why ? Curious as to what season
QOTD for Tuesday #2: Favorite flavor of ice cream
#1: I was born in Illinois but lived in Indiana. Three months before my 2nd birthday, my mom and I came to CT. I've been here ever since, except for 3 years when DH and I got married and lived in MA.Thank you Sparkle for our double questions of this Monday, June 22nd
QOTD #1: State you were born in, state you live in now.
QOTD #2: Favorite college - you or a relative went to and briefly why you recommend it
1: I don't know that I have a favorite day that isn't attached to some kind of milestone. I think I'd have to agree with a previous post that the day we leave for a vacation is always a good day. Or the day we arrive in Florida (we drive, so they're not the same day!QOTD for Tuesday #1: Favorite day of the year ( non holiday, birthday, or anniversary) and why ? Curious as to what season

O/T #2 LOL, I will have time this morning to start on compiling a list of older QOTD. Anyone want/able to help? Let me know and thank you! Also, should we eventually place them in their own thread (with directions to this thread) or just within here? What do all of you think?
I am so happy, we went to the library this morning! They opened to the public yesterday, but of course we all have to wear masks, be mindful of the marks all over the floors, they've put up plexiglass at the counter, and the return drop at the desk and the "community room" are closed (you return books at the drop at the front door, and the community room is closed so they can quarantine used materials for a week before putting them back on the floor). All of the computers have been removed and the drinking fountain has plastic cups attached. There were plenty of librarians working, but I think my mom, Josh and I were the only people in there! We got to talk to our Storytime librarian for a few minutes; she seemed happy to see Josh.

Long story. TLDR: DD#2 and BFF in crash. Scary stuff happened. Stupid people make me angry.
We had a bit of a scare tonight. DD#2 went with her BFF tonight to get some dinner. On their way, a car coming the other way was speeding and hydroplaned across the median. Hit the girls head on on the passenger side (that's how bad they lost control and how fast they were going). DD's friend called me and her husband after police arrived, so we could meet them at the hospital. (For those Jax, they were in OP, on Wells, near the OP Mall; the other car hit them doing at least 50, which is beyond dangerous on that particular road, but in the severe rain we were having at the time, it could have been deadly.)
DD's friend has some lower back and abdominal bruising and some 'road rash' from the airbag, but was overall fine. DD had low bp on scene (85/47) and they couldn't get it raised; along with chest pain and nausea, so they brought her in to the ER trauma unit. They were concerned about shock, stroke, and cardiac tamponade.
After about 2 hours, she finally was 'stable' and moved to a regular ER room; I was able to go back. She was admitted for overnight observation a couple of hours later. When she went up to her room, she still had the spinal collar on, waiting for the trauma surgeon to clear her. (no visitors allowed) She did not hit her head (clear scans and no physical), but she did suffer a sternal fracture, whiplash, seatbelt bruising and a bit of 'road rash'. It took another hour for the trauma surgeon to clear her (there was another accident that some one had to be lifeflighted in, so he was busy) so they could remove the collar and so she could eat some jello and water.
The car (Rav 4) is totaled, as was the other car (Altima). The other car had 5 people in it, one a young child and 2 were pregnant women; only the driver was wearing a seatbelt and the child was not restrained. In addition, they had no insurance. We (BFF's dh and me) ran into boyfriends of the two pg women, and they were polite and sorry for what happened. No one was seriously injured in the other car; just some more 'road rash', a few seatbelt contusions, and the little one had some injury from the person next to her holding her from flying. It could have been so much worse.
Y'all, I am so grateful that no one was seriously injured. But I am so mad at the other people, who had no business putting themselves and other people in danger. The speeding combined with the heavy rain...ugh. This was an accident that was made worse by their poor decisions.
I am still so shaky, and I'm so glad that DH and I kept DGS with us instead of them taking him with them. DS stepped up and cared for DGS while I was at the hospital and kept his emotions in check, but now that I'm home, DGS is asleep, and she's going to be ok, he melted down. That's his big sis, the person he is closest in the world to. And I had to keep myself in check until now (when he went to bed) for him. So, I hopped on here to vent a little, and give myself some time to 'talk' it out. Thanks for listening.
