Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good evening all.

Well the eventful week has continued. Yesterday was really windy and the storm door is in such bad shape that I had to use a bungee cord to keep it closed. We called today and thankfully that door is ready so will be installed next week. The electrician came on Monday and thankfully was mostly good news. The wiring and junction box look good, and the repair was perfect. BUT, isn't there always a but, the main wire from the power source from the electric company to the meter is completely exposed with no insulation protecting it. Of course, that is my responsibility so it will be repaired when he wires the basement.

To make myself feel better I added a new addition to the family. Meet Fitzgibbons, or Fitz as we will call him20241113_163634.jpg

Not the best picture as he was a little nervous in the car. So far he is hiding and the other 2 cats are investigating him. He's about 10 weeks old and was just made available for adoption today so I am happy.

I am excited to see my aunt tomorrow. She came up to visit today from Florida. She is my dad's sister and between her health and his they haven't seen each other for a few years. My aunt fell a couple years ago and broke her upper arm pretty badly and since she is in her 80's that is never good. She only lives about 30 minutes from Disney but since I never have a car I don't get to visit her. I'm excited to see her.

Not much else going on around here Hope you all have a good night.

Flyingdumbo127 I am glad you are OK and can reschedule soon with Vivian. It sounds like you are getting ready for the holidays.

Pea Nice to see you. Glad everything is going along well. I am enjoying my coffee that I got at Zebs. I also got a small piece of fudge which I am eating bite by bite over the days.

Good Morning. It is 30 degrees here with temps heading to the 40s. I did not walk at the lake yesterday as the wind was so cold. I went to Target and bought clothes for the grandkids for Christmas. Today I will go to Market Basket to pick up a few things. I am always shocked by the cost of the what I get and I don't even by any meat. The condo meeting was interesting yesterday. The builder did pocket a good amount of our money. When we bought into the condo 2 months condo fees were supposed to go to the reserve funds. Well, they didn't put it all into the fund so we are short. We are also short money in other accounts. There is a hearing in Feb to get our money back. The last 2 condos left cannot be sold by the builder due to the litagation and the buyers cannot get a mortgage with the litigation going on and the shortage in the funds. Our condos fees are going up which I expected. I knew they were too low when I moved in and compared to other condos around the new figure is probably more in line with what to expect. We also have an assessment to pay for a landscaping bill which the builder would not pay. I like the complex and the people but boy am I tired of the drama and wish I had gone elsewhere. But, other places have issues too. At least here we are all working together and have voted in 3 really good trustees. I got the new dining area lamp I ordered to replace the hideous one that came with the condo. Kenny will put it in when he has time.

Off to work. Have a good day.
I am very fortunate not to have to deal with Home owner association junk. I vowed long ago never to buy anything with an association.

It was a cool high of 51 here but going down to 36 tonight. Then it warms back up into the 60ties for about a week.

Home Depot sent me a link to pay my bill today. That was easy!

Everything feels so good and I'm happy it's all finally done.

Good morning. It was a hard frost 25 degrees when I woke up. The water in the gravity water feeder on the deck was frozen solid. I had to bring it in and run warm water over it to get it out, and then filled it with warm water for the outside cats. So far none of them are venturing into the cat house. I'm hoping that they realize it's warmer in there than out in the open. 2 of them slept on top of each other on the porch swing last night, lol

I'm off to the market and doing some errands.

Have a good day

Outdoor Kitty often slept on my patio. He would get on a chair under a chair cover and leave a pile of dirt and cat hair. That's when I started buying him a house. I'm sure he spent some really cold nights during his short life.

Maybe if you put some treats in there they'll explore.

This morning I walked into my living room to look out the new big window. There were 3 deer with their backs to me down in the field. Probably 200 feet away. They either heard me or caught a glimpse and all turned to stare towards my house. Then they went back to eating. If they heard me that's amazing hearing! All windows and doors were closed. Even if they saw me, that's great sight also. Took dog out for a few minutes and they just ignored us. I even filled the bird feeders and they kept grazing.

Late afternoon and good evening hug to all. Thank you dear Taz for giving love and a home to another of God's creatures and to all of dear you with furry friends. God willing I would love to adopt a dog one day should dad and I ever be able to move somewhere bigger and with private outdoor space. Sweet dreams later dear friends.

Taz dev Beautiful kitty! Love the name. Glad the electrical news was mostly good. There is always a "but".

Judique I prefer not to have an HOA but this condo complex is small and the rules are very simple and they do not nitpick like in my other complex. One reason why I left the other place. I like having the landscaping and snow removal done. The trustees we choose are very good and available. I will say sometimes I wish I had bought a small house but my kids so like where I am. Love seeing deer. I had deer at my house with Chris but have not seen any here.

Good morning. It is 26 here now with temps heading into the 40s. I hope to walk at the lake today since the wind seems to be gone. Yesterday I did some errands and talked with my friend. Jeff asked me if I wanted to go watch Ellie do a 5K on Saturday. My DIL is doing it with her. Ellie loves to run and is in a running program this Fall. Looking forward to seeing them after not seeing them for a couple of weeks.

Have a good day. Working from the condo today thankfully so no ride into the office. :)

Good Thursday Morning!🌧️

Taz - beautiful kitten. Welcome Fitz, looking forward to seeing pictures of him.

Evan called last night to tell me that Mia said Grandma finally . I told him to try and record her saying it. I was so excited last weekend at her party when she recognized and said Minnie Mouse. I had her present in a big Minnie Mouse gift bag. Bailey recorded her singing the end of the ABC song ("now I know my ABC's") and it is so stinking cute that I watch it a couple times a day.

Watched Survivor last night, kinda bummed with who went home, would have liked to have seen other people go first.

Went out and cleaned up my deck yesterday. I have a Rubbermaid storage box on the deck and the dogs crashed into it a couple of weeks ago and the front part fell off. It's put together like a puzzle, no screws, so I should have known it was going to happen at some point. Took everything out and cleaned it real good. I left everything laying out to dry off and sure enough it rained last night. I thought it was going to rain later today so I had some time to put it back together.

Working at Kohl's tonight. I need to grab a few things that I saw last week for the girl's Xmas presents. We get 35% off next week so I'll put them on hold until next Tuesday.

That's all I have this morning, have a great day!

Good morning. Only going to be a high of 44 today with rain. The weather keeps changing drastically every other day. Yesterday it was in the 60's.
Had errands to do along with grocery shopping. I had a pkg that had to go back to Amazon, so I drive to the local UPS store 5 minutes away, only to find the store closed, with a sign saying they moved. I head for Walmart in the next city over to the new place. She tells me they've been telling customers for a month that they were moving. I don't think so since I was there twice in the last 3 weeks and no one mentioned it. So they get a new place, in the next shopping plaza over from Staples, which is also a UPS store, that makes no sense.
I decided I'm going to hit the furniture stores today to look for new bedroom dressers. The bed is already new, as are the end tables. But the dressers are ones that Don had long before I met him and moved here. They're too heavy and too dark and I want to lighten up the room a bit. We have 3 furniture stores, so I'm going to hit all of them before deciding.

@footballmouse I wasn't upset with Sol going home. I don't care for any of the girls, and I still can't stand Andy. I do like Kyle and Sam is okay. Do the challenges this season seem way harder than they usually are to you? How sweet that Mia can say Grandma now, that must make you smile!

Have a good day everyone

I'm on the same level as you, I don't like any of the girls, I'm pulling for Sam or Kyle, and I can't stand Andy (such a crybaby). I would be okay with Gabe winning also. I do like the challenges. I feel like they're sort of getting away from all the balancing and puzzles like they had maybe 4-7 seasons ago. I still like the old school physical challenges, but they won't bring those back.

Good afternoon.

I am so upset that I lost my Mickey Thanksgiving flag in the windstorm the other day. I did post on the neighborhood Facebook page so hopefully someone found it.

Fitz is fitting in although the other 2 boys aren't happy. Adso didn't even want his treats this morning. I did manage a better picture

Hope you all have a good day

:grouphug:Taz and prayers your flag is found! Dad and I have no private outdoor space thus no need for a garden flag. I have seen some cute ones in store and on the road. Do you have a picture of yours? May your flag find its way back to dear you indeed.

PollyannaMom Good Eye! There is a hug emoji.

Good chilly morning. It is29 now with temps heading to the low 50s so it will warm up a bit. Yesterday I walked at the lake and while a bit chilly it was so nice. There were lots of ducks in the water. I had a zoom appt with the grief counselor. I will do one more next month to help get through the holidays. After that I may sit in on a grief group zoom meeting that she does once a month. I probably won't say much but sometimes hearing how other people navigate various kinds of grief can help. I am done with individual counseling once the holidays are over. This year it is tougher for me and I think because I am not busy doing other things to distract me. The other years I was always dealing with estate issues or moving issues. Today I am having lunch with my wonderful friend who lives in MA. We can chat for hours. Looking forward to it. I am looking forward to seeing Jeff and family tomorrow and watching Ellie and her Mom run.

Have a good day.

Best to team Ellie dear Snowysmom. Always joy to you my friend.

Happy Friday everyone. Vivian did come yesterday and was kind to help get an Epsom salt soak started before she left. I've been wearing a foamy protective sandal on my left foot because it offers a little more support than a regular slipper. Yesterday by God's grace, using the walker, I was able to stand and walk a little without it.

Vivian reassured me that the stiffness in my feet is normal from limited movement and constriction. The more my feet can breathe and move the better. I sure pray so. It was hopeful. God willing she will come again next Thursday because after that it may be a few weeks.

Wishing each of you a great start to the weekend. I will check back in later.

Good cloudy morning. Supposed to get sunny and 60 later on.

I went to the furniture store yesterday, not even thinking Black Friday Sale, but when I walked in , it was already going on. I wandered for awhile, measuring the height of dressers. A lot of them were 50" but I can only go 46 because the tv is wall mounted over that bureau in the bedroom. I turned a corner, and there it was. I fell in love with the set, and when I measured they were perfect. I got the tall dresser, the long dresser and the mirror. I got the Black Friday price, plus another discount, and since I paid for it right away, I didn't pay any sales tax. Saved over $500 in total, which made me happy. Free delivery and removal of old furniture, but Summer wants it so I emptied everything out of them last night and took the mirror off. They will deliver it tomorrow and I can't wait.

Bought my tickets to see Wicked at the theater next Friday morning. Believe it or not, that will be the first movie I've seen in a theater since the original Jurassic Park, a long long time ago, lol. I've been waiting for this movie forever.
I need to get the drawers out of the bureaus and see if I can drag them into the living room so I can vacuum and clean the carpets where they were sitting

Have a good day everyone

Tomorrow we will be going to see “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” because of recommendations of friends. We are celebrating Tom’s 80th birthday early, today and tomorrow, because on Sunday we’ll be visiting a friend who has been in and out of hospitals over an 18 month period, who isn’t out of the woods yet, but is well enough to go out to a meal on Sunday.

I have learned that I wasn’t the healthiest person in the hospital during my 8 night stay, and I will be undergoing more tests and treatments. I’ll be at MD Anderson, Cooper for treatments. I will learn more on Monday. 🙏please.
