Home and exhausted! Slept like a log overnight.
What a great trip we had! Flights got messed up coming home, though, so we actually had to stay 5 hours overnight at the airport gate to catch the first flight out the next morning. (Time change worked against us, arriving there at what would be 11pm on Arizona time but was actually 2am Eastern time.) That was the first time we’ve ever had that happen. So from leaving our hotel to getting home to our house was a 24 hr journey, without sleep aside from maybe a cat nap here and there. There was an elderly lady in the same boat as us - I invited her to come sit over with us for safety. She thanked me but said she was ok where she was (by herself in a chair). Last I saw of her was in Boston headed for a bus.

Thankfully we were compensated by the airline, but it was a hassle. We had a woman pilot on the last leg of our journey, which was cool. I still don’t like flying. I always try to book non-stop and I will continue that practice. Changing planes is for the birds!
We were so happy to pick up the dogs! They went right into the tub and each had a bath, then I was blowing hair off of Grady outside all afternoon, lol. (Left it outside for nests.) Started Toto on his antibiotics. His skin actually looks really good. Hair is long, though. I might try to trim it up a bit tonight with the clippers. I moved his appt up to give it time for the infection to clear. It cost well over $600 to board the two dogs. I’ve read and heard that by some standards, that’s not bad. I just remember when it used to cost us just $250 for the week. (And don’t get me started on car rentals! Bad experience with one person at the rental counter this trip. But it has become sort of a funny meme for my family, lol. Have to just laugh sometimes.)
I am sorry to the Phillies fans here. We watched the game last night and I imagine how heartbreaking it was to lose in your own stadium after such a great season. (And we’d watched the other games in the series, and the Texas/Houston game at the airport.) If it’s any consolation, I’ve been in that situation many times myself as a Red Sox fan (who didn’t win their first World Series since 1918 until 2004 - so as a lifelong fan, there was a lot of heartache there!). We felt fortunate to go to that Diamondbacks Game 3, which happened to be when the chips were really down for them, and they were already down two games in the series. It’s actually, I guess, why tickets were going so cheap and we got to even go! But they managed to turn it around somehow and win the series. Pretty remarkable for such a young team. We’ll be rooting for them in the World Series, naturally. We were thinking about how the players also had to deal with time changes and jet lag and such, too. At least now I think they’ll all be in the same time zones (Arizona and Texas.)
Today is an unpacking and laundry day. Still working on it. Packing for an upcoming wedding trip at the same time to keep things simple. Thankfully I’d cleaned and mostly straightened up the house before we left. Did an online grocery order, too, so we got some food in the house. Made a simple pork roast dinner (with hot pepper jelly) and roasted acorn squash last night. It was good. We all took a short nap in the afternoon.
Mona, I hope what you’re working on pans out for you. I absolutely feel you have to see a PCP for your feet at this point. Your problem requires a full health assessment. Continue to let us know.
Please continue with prayers for DS this week!

Kirby, am praying that everything is well for your son, too.

We have a new baby girl in the family, too! Born on the same day as my kids, as well!
Wishing a good Wednesday for everyone!
