@dazedx3 Thank you for your kind words. I think of you and your family alot. I do talk to Chris and ask for help and guidance. I am taking my time to listen and look for signs that this is the right thing to do. I do know the location is the best of any place I looked being only 12 minutes from Kenny and easy for Jeff to get to even if it is 50 minutes from his house.

Good morning. Chilly one again. I guess we are in for snow. I don't really follow news and weather. News is too depressing and just elevates my stress and anxiety. The weather I take day by day. It looks like around 3 inches of snow. But later in the week it looks like rain. My phone comes in handy for my weather outlook.

Off to work. I was off Friday and no one does my daily stuff. I have to play catch up.

Have a good day.

Good morning, sunny and will be in the 50's today, but rain later on

@PollyannaMom Glad you made it down safely, have a great visit!

@Snowysmom This condo sounds very promising. I hope it turns out to be the one that is calling your name. Just look for a sign from Chris to point you in the right direction.

I was extremely lazy yesterday. I did almost no chores, for a change. I did a lot of writing, caught up on a few tv shows, and talked to my Sister in Law for quite a while. She went to the ER, again, in Morgantown, because one of her knees was bothering her. Turns out she needs a knee replacement. While they were there, my niece insisted on being soon. I have no idea why, but they did ekg, all kinds of tests, and put her on more fluid pills. They are in Morgantown again today for my niece's 'weight management' appointment, which is a joke.

When I go out with them, she eats in the car constantly. Chips, cheese, crackers, last week she got 2 pieces of chicken and mac and cheese and ate it on the way home. What kind of weight management is that? And she desperately needs to lose weight. Both of them are 300+ lbs. All those appts are a waste of time. Tomorrow they have to go again, for her allergy shot. This is absolutely ridiculous. WVU should be able to schedule these appts on the same day. And because they are never home, either in Morgantown or out shopping, the house is falling into disrepair and looks like a bomb went off inside. We tried talking to her, but nothing gets through. I know it's not our business, but it worries us.

Off to find something to do, I think I'm going to wash some of the windows, they have little cat nose prints in them, lol

Have a good day.

Can you ever imagine seeing Main Street like this???

Good Monday morning.🙂

How did your doggie guest do all week? He must’ve been happy to be picked up.
She did fine. I was just a little tired of the dog switching. I had to put my dogs somewhere to put G outside and then do it again when she came back in. She's a good girl, definitely made me want another German Shepherd.:dog:

Good luck with the water heater, hope it's covered under the warranty.
They were able to install it Friday night. They finished at 7:30 and I made it to Kroger before my 8:00 pick-up time. I still had to pay $700 for things that weren't covered under the warranty 🤬. I'm kinda rethinking this warranty.💸

Enjoy more precious time with her later.
She's starting to smile now, which melts your heart. I'll post a picture at the bottom of her big smile that I got Friday.💗

Turns out DH had forgotten to turn them on on the stove, so they weren’t cooked! Lmao!
Holy Moley if this doesn't sound like something I would have done 😄. I said before that I'm not a good cook & I don't like to cook, I think it's because of how I started out. In high school my mom told me to put the frozen broccoli in boiling water. What she didn't tell me was that I needed to take it out of the box, so of course I put the whole box in the boiling water. She wasn't happy when she got home. I've never lived that story down.🤦‍♀️

Condo hunting went well.
I'm glad it was a successful day!:thumbsup2

Yesterday I just cleaned up the basement from my flood disaster, threw a lot of stuff in the garbage. Didn't really do anything on my weekend off. After shelling out the money for the water heater, I won't be doing much of anything for a long time.🙁

My sister stopped by on Friday to finally see Mia. Of course that was a 3 hour visit of talking.:hyper2:

Back to work, I need to get the payroll approved today and I'm waiting on a couple of people to reply to a question I sent them. It's raining here in Cincy today so I'll be in the house ☔. Washed my car Thursday so I don't want it to get wet or dirty.🚗

Have a great day!

We gave up on the home warranty, every time it was supposed to be covered, there were reasons why something wasn't, and it cost us more than the warranty did.

Good morning everyone. Only 40 here but SUNNY. That has been a rare sight lately.

Busy week this week as always but today was a somewhat free day. I felt inspired and went up to the spare room to clean some of the trash out. It became a dump spot while other work was being done and my husband, the hoarder, did not want me getting rid of anything. I feel accomplished. I have a contractor's bag of trash, with things from our cruise in 2014. I said he likes to hoard. My feeling is if I haven't seen or used it in almost 10 years, I don't think we need it. I also have a box and bag for the Green Drop donation center. My plan is to go up there every week and get rid of more stuff before he wakes up.

I will say he is lucky though. Evidently, he threw his PHONE on the floor of this room. He is lucky I didn't walk on it or throw it out. I don't know what possessed him to do that.

The rest of the week is the normal get the boys to school and pick them up. I also have an appointment with a new potential PCP. A friend recommended them to me and my cardiologist likes the practice, just not the male dr. My friend said the same thing even though her mother loved him. I will see what they are like and decide if they will be a good fit for us. I loved my old doctor, and he died 18 months ago so it is about time I find a new one and stop using Urgent Care for everything. My husband especially needs someone that coordinates things for him with all the specialists he sees.

Wednesday, I need to take my daughter to Center City so we can get Crystal a new Social Security card. They can't find Crystal's although they do have her number. She needs an ID which you can't get without the card, and you can't get the card without an ID. She can use her mother's ID to establish her identity though along with a birth certificate. While we are down there, I want to get the Sr. Fare Card for public transportation. I don't use it often, but I hate driving in center city, and this will give me free access to the public transportation. One of the perks of getting old I guess.

I am hoping to get to the Franklin Institute next week after I have the Sr. Fare card. They have a 100 Year's of Disney Experience exhibit and I really want to see this one.

Not much else going on here, I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all. I'm so behind, tried to catch up but kept getting sidetracked, mostly with Dolly. LoL I hope I didn't miss anything major. Been thinking of you all...:grouphug:

We had some crazy weather this past week/weekend. We got so much snow, might not look like a lot to some of you but its not usual for here.

20230225_114656.jpg

Dolly enjoyed it alot...
20230225_114440.jpg

It was the best kind of snow because it's already melted...lol There's a chance for some more this week but I don't think we'll get anywhere near as much as we did Saturday.

Hope you so enjoy your day.

Oh I forgot Friday we celebrated Baby Ana's 1st birthday. :lovestruc
20230224_193247.jpg
She enjoyed a tiny bit of frosting but did not want to get into her cake like they hoped.

I still had to pay $700 for things that weren't covered under the warranty 🤬. I'm kinda rethinking this warranty.
We gave up on the home warranty, every time it was supposed to be covered, there were reasons why something wasn't, and it cost us more than the warranty did.
We had the same issue with our water heater and our warranty company, as well as our HVAC unit. We just decided to cancel our warranty after our contract expires, just doesn't seen worth it to us anymore.

Happy last Monday of February and Good Morning Friends,

Extra grateful to God this day, first and always for this new day of life, health, dad, and forever Him. I'm also thankful dad took time to make himself a heartier warm breakfast of crepes. He baked them, that warmed up our apartment, too. Wow such a blessing to know he was enjoying, I got to have warm pancakes and hot chocolate, and that we both were able to have our breakfast without being so cold. Praise be extra to God indeed. A gift for sure.

I just might call our local fire department this morning to get their opinion on heating options other than, of course, moving to a new apartment that has up to code and safe to use everything. I truly pray dad and I will be able to do some day. Free to call and the firefighters have been so kind when we've donated toys at Christmastime for the toy drive and brought the fire crew cookies, too.

Dad🙏please this morning he goes for his hearing appointment at Costco to discuss options with a specialist there. I really admire his courage in doing that. Not an easy thing to do. I look forward to watching fully worship from yesterday and trying to stay warm as I pray to be of good service.

:thanks:Dazed, for posting such kind encouragement to Snowysmom and always I pray allowing us to care about and support you, too. We do! You are often on my heart as well. Dear Frog, so are you, btw. Thinking extra of you both along with Kirby this morning.

Snowysmom, I'm not a news 📰fan either. Way too much negativity that sadly is often sensationalized. Dad does enjoy his morning Times and later night TV news which is great and I'm glad he does. Not for me. I'm just so thankful, so very happy for you, my friend about the condo. Listen to your heart, hear God's calling, and absolutely may you know Chris is also giving you his blessing on this 🏠too.

Lynn, :cheer2: that you had a day off yesterday. Please do that more ofen! 🙏for both you and Don always along with Summer and your SIL and niece to want to make some healthier choices.

PollyannaMom, thank you:hug:for letting us know you arrived safely. Wishing you a wonderful visit with your folks. What a blessing to all of you.

Footballmouse, Baby Mia:lovestrucabsolutely! Thank you for brightening my morning with her precious picture.

Taz, big potential new doctor 🙏for you. May the new doctor be a good fit for you the way Snowysmom's new doctor, I pray, still is for her. Extra :grouphug:and prayer this week is brighter for you.
Wow to all that ❄️AuntieMe3! I'm glad :dogdance:had fun in it! She may not see the likes of that again. Many prayers that you were all warm. God Bless and Happy Birthday to another precious Quacker Family Member Baby, Ana! God willing one day perhaps she and Mia, Sam and Marty, too, Snowysmom and Carol, can all meet.

Just about nightshirt time at just after 9am lol. Stay warm, everyone. Have a good Monday. I will check back in later.

All the baby pictures are so cute. Beautiful smiles.

@TazDev Good luck with the new PCP. It is a challenge to find a good one but it seems like you have good recommendations.

@flyingdumbo127 Hope your Dad does well with the hearing appt. Chris ended up with hearing aids the last several months before he passed. It helped alot. Hope you can warm up a bit. Hot cocoa sounds good right about now.

The walkthrough for the sale is done. Papers will be signed and tomorrow I will no longer be a condo owner here. I will be here another 2 months as a renter. There is one thing that is really annoying me and I need to let it go. I put the realtor lockbox with the key out on the door knob in case I was not here when they arrived. 15 minutes later I realized I would be here so I took it down. In that 15 minutes someone on my floor saw it, walked over to the office to tattle about it. While the buyer was here the office manager and facilities manager came to my door to tell me someone saw the lockbox and told them about it. They wanted to know why I had it out. I explained and then said, I guess some people do not have enough to do with their time. It is really none of their business. My business is my business and your business is your business. But, this place is like junior high. One of the many reasons for leaving here. I know I am going to a 55+ community but I think having a more house like place and neighborhood may lessen this type of behavior. People even tattled on dogs peeing too close to the building. Shesh!

I have been researching the town I would move to. It gets a good rating for retiring to that town as well as having a great general store with wine, food including well reviewed takeout, and lottery. Shops and stores and restaurants are nearby. Plus I saw an Amazon van in town the other day. I am all set. I keep thinking about the neighborhood and the condo. So far it is a go. But I do need more time to ruminate as that is what I do best. I am asking Chris for guidance. I need to find a good blinds place as well as buy 3 appliances.

Snow coming in later. I have seen reports of 1-3 and 2-5 mostly overnight into tomorrow morning.

Have a good rest of the day.

Good morning, sunny and will be in the 50's today, but rain later on

If you mean empty, I've seen it like that when we've done a breakfast at Crystal Palace and they let you in early. It's been over 20- 25 years since those days.

:grouphug:Snowysmom. I truly am so proud of and happy for you. Chris is, too, my friend. He really is. Thank you for sharing about Chris and asking about my dad, too. Grateful to God, dad is first of all safely home. It's 🌧️again. He didn't have to drive in much rain earlier. He was very pleased with the Costco hearing center person he saw. Dad said the exam was much more helpful and thorough than the one he had done at the audiology center. He's going to do some online searching and just might try the hearing aid Costco recommended. I'm going to call an elderly friend who gets her hearing aids from this same Costco to find out what she has. Definitely a positive appointment.

Editing to add and also ask, I did call the fire department and spoke with the same kind fire captain as once before. He remembered dad had brought cookies to the station as a thank you from both of us. He thanked me again for them and said they would definitely enjoy more. Someday when the rain stops, we will do that.

I shared with him about our lack of heating. He said the station has similar issues being an older building. He recommended a portable heater that is a tower shape. Rather than heat up on the front, this type of device works as he put it like a hair dryer. It forces out compressed warm air. You don't see any red on the front of it. Still, of course, something to be very cautious with but much safer than older options that get warm. We will need to call the fire station back and ask but have always heard and read, I think, that for added safety, it's recommended to plug it directly into a wall socket rather than a power strip. Not sure we have a free wall outlet. We will call and find out. Something we will look into. Have any of you seen or used one of these? He said it's newer. Thank you all:hug:

Prayers extra this afternoon that each of you are staying warm and having a good Monday.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you can find a space heater that works for you. Lucky Rabbit is so kind to show some options and advice.

Good morning. It is 29 degrees with a coating of snow on the ground. I had read varying forecasts of how much snow from 1-3 inches to 4-6 inches. As usual, we will find out when it is all done.

Have a good day. Everyone in the path of the snow stay safe and warm.

Good Tuesday morning.:cutie:

Ugh, snow! We might get some later this week 😠. I hate winter and just want the cold weather gone. We've been getting in the 60's-70's off and on the past couple of weeks.:sunny:

Back in the office today. This week is Employee Appreciation Week so yesterday I placed an order for lunch for our department to be delivered today. Hopefully it's good, just boxed lunches.🤞

Made some chicken salad yesterday 🐔. Needed to add more chicken so I did that last night but I didn't taste it. First time I made it so we'll see.

Not much going on. Instead of my usual eggs this morning, I'm going to the cafeteria and trying one of the smoothies. Have a great day!

@flyingdumbo127 , I do hope you find a heater that is safe for your situation.

@AuntieMe3 , Baby Ana is beautiful!

Last evening, Tom and I went to a cooking demonstration at the Stone Harbor library. It was fun to watch and tasty food. The blackened fish Po’Boy was a bit to spicy, but I enjoyed the hush puppy and the Amish Milk Bread.

Happy last day of February to you all!

Good morning. Thankfully we are missing the storm, but we had a lot of rain last night. It's cloudy, but going to be partly sunny and 50. Into the mid 70's again tomorrow.

@PollyannaMom Beautiful pictures--color me jealous
@AuntieMe3 - Great picture of baby Ana, hard to believe she's a year old already
After trying to call Dave 8x yesterday, I finally got him last night. He had gone on a job, and when he went to take his phone out, he realized it was at home on the charger. He's tentatively planning on starting the bathroom on Thursday, and clearing the rest of his schedule until Monday. We should be able to get almost all of it done by then. He checked both the vanity and commode again and said they are in perfect condition, whew!

I am going to start cleaning out the linen closet, the vanity drawers and underneath it. That much will be done and out of the way. He said the first thing he's going to do is rip out the old floor. I'd like to know how he's going to do that without having a couple more guys to help get the claw foot tub out of there. It doesn't weigh 75 lbs like the new one does, more like 750. That's going to be the toughest hurdle to get over.

Have a nice day everyone

Good morning everyone. I've tried to keep up, but I'm a bit out of the loop w/ everyone! Hope you all are doing well.

Not much to report here, same old stuff....I'm only on the road one day this week, Thursday. I've got some items to organize out in the shop later today so I'm going to go get to that in a bit. I'm on the tail end of the two Teams meetings I had this morning - slacking by checking in here ha ha! My part of the meeting usually come at the beginning so I'm listening with half a ear by the end.
I've got work-related travel twice next month, next week I'm in Dallas for 2 days and two weeks later I'm in the Cayman Island for 5 days. Then in April I'm in Florida for 4 or 5 days, depending on when I decide to fly home. Husband is coming on the Cayman trip with me, but otherwise I'll be traveling solo which I'm fine with. I've treated myself to a few new physical (as opposed to on the Kindle) books that caught my eye. They are

Verity by Coleen Hanover
Time's Convert by Deborah Harkness
Destined to Witness: Growing up Black in Nazi Germany by Hans Massaquoi

and on Audible I got a book I've been meaning to read for the longest time, so I'll try to listen to it on my upcoming flights or during walks, it is:

A World Lit Only by Fire

Demo of the basement continues to go well. I picked out the cabinetry for the kitchenette which is replacing the small full kitchen I had down there. No need for the oven/stove combo so I'm going for more of a large wet bar type of feeling with 9' of cabinets along a wall, the fridge, a under cabinet ice maker and bar sink. We also replaced the 3/4 bathroom with a larger 1/2 bath in another location. We will rough in for a future shower if needed, but we won't be putting one in again ourselves we don't think. I have a idea of what I'm looking for in terms of flooring & carpet, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. And sometime in the next month we hope to take down the old silo where the old barn was. That should be a fun project.

Dinner last night was pork chops w/ rice. Not sure about tonight, I'll take something out of the freezer at lunch.

Have a good day everyone.
