Hi Evereyone! I was thinking of flying airtran from Boston to Orlando for my upcoming trip. I've only flown delta and have been really happy with them in the past! Has anyone flown airtran and have you liked/disliked them? Thanks so much for your help!

I liked them. Used them for the first time 2 months ago, and I absolutely would use them again. Both flights were on-time, and in fact one of them was about 20 minutes early. They were quick with boarding, it was a full flight, so we left the gate early!

Another Delta frequent flyer turned to Air Tran and thought they were great. We had a delay with our aircraft incoming which delayed us from leaving our home airport and the staff handled the situation great. I was very nervous about missing our connecting flight (only 40 mins :scared: )and the gate agent was always so pleasant to me when I was looking for updates. Long story short is that they held the plane for 5 of us, got our luggage onto the connecting aircraft, we were only 20 mins late to MCO by the time it was through and every person I came in contact with was friendly. I've had some good crew members on Delta flights but Air Tran really stood out. :thumbsup2 In fact, I'm planning to book my May flight down to FLL with them. :)

We love Airtran, actually better than Delta. They are wonderful, flights always on time, great customer service, they are our preferred airline! now if their rates would just go down for our July 12th trip I would book them!

We returned yesterday from our trip to WDW. We flew Airtran from Detroit for the first time. We were very pleased with Airtran. We arrived a little early into Orlando on Monday and arrived home on time yesterday. Flight crew were very friendly and planes were well maintained.

We will definitely use Airtran again.

I'm in Milwaukee and normally fly Midwest if I can no matter where I am headed. I've taken AirTran instead to Orlando in the past and there is no comparison between the two. Midwest beats AirTran hands down. AirTran only lets you pick a seat when you get your ticket if you pay a lot more. For the cheaper seats, you have to get your seat assigned at the airport. Midwest seats are nicer, bigger and preassigned no matter what.

Not exactly accurate. If you choose the less expensive seats, you can check-in 24 hours prior and your seat is assigned at that time - not at the airport.

I had the same experience of checking in 24 hours in advance last year. Our flight on AirTran last year from IND to MCO r/t was a very good experience. Friendly staff and clean planes.

We used Airtran for our return from Orlando to Boston last September and will never fly Airtran again. The first leg of the trip was fine, left Orlando on schedule and arrived in Baltimore on time. The second leg was a disaster. We were continually told that the flight was delayed and then they started telling us that the flight would be cancelled if they could not find another plane. After approximately a four or five hour delay a plane was found and we left for Boston. Never again. I'll stick with Jetblue when flying from Boston or I'll go with Southwest out of Providence.

Maybe they've changed it then. The last time we flew AirTran the seats were assigned at the airport and there was no available checkin online ahead of time.
Maybe each airport is different?

Check Air Trans web site, they have had 24 in advance check in fora long time, over two years that I know of

We fly Airtran. It is the only direct flight from ROC and it's cheap. The only downside that we have noticed is that they will change the flight times and not notify you until close to you trip. However, I've had great customer service on changing the flight after the change. Just keep an eye on your flight times.

We too just flew on AirTran for our first time. We flew the new nonstop between DTW and TPA and were very pleased! Flights were both early, the XM Radio was a nice touch and the entire crew was very friendly. Unfortunatly, I do believe they will be cutting back service to certain destinations from DTW as there flights are often empty (51 people on our return flight!). All an all, with the exception of American Airlines out of DTW, they are probibly my favorite airline (out of here at least).

I know they have curbside in orlando because we used it on our last trip.

We have never tried curbside, can you tell me how it works? We always check in on line so we have our seats and # of bags. Was going to try it last time, but it was mobbed.

Thanks!

Love airtran. Curbside checkin at both PHL and MCO, fairly new planes and cheap airfare. Seat assignment is available 24 hr. before, and boarding passes are downloadable to avoid airport delays.
