QSDP Question

We are doing the QSDP this time as opposed to the DDP to be more felxible this vacation. Can some list the best places as each park to get the most bang for your buck on the QSDP.

I already downloaded the list of quailfying snacks for 2011 and was surprised at what is available that Disney doesn't advertise.

Well, at DTD we love to eat at Wolfgang Puck Express....delicious meal and lots of it.
At MK, I would think you would get the most bang at Cosmic Rays with the chicken and rib combo. Our favorite cs place at MK, though, is Pecos Bills.
At AK, Flame Tree BBQ has a rib platter or a 1/2 chicken that come with beans and cornbread. We usually just get the bbq sandwich, though.
Cant help you with DHS, as I really dont like anything there.
At Epcot, we just love to eat at the Mexican Pavillion.
I guess we really dont eat at the places that give you the most bang for your buck, but we never go hungry. The QSDP is lots of food

Yes it is. I am glad I found the thread of what counts as a snack as you get 2 on this plan. I don't why Disney doesn't advertise it more.

Now that my DD is older I do think we will the regular DDP anymore as she doesn't need the character interaction we will stick with the QSDP.

As far as getting the best "bang for your buck", I would recommend looking at the menus over at allears.net When I did the QSDP, I looked at the menus more in terms of variety as opposed to getting the most expensive item I could all the time. With good planning, I never had a "Disney Pizza" or Hamburger while on the dining plan. I did have Pizza at WGPE but that gormet pizza instead of themepark fare. I don't normally order deserts while on vacation, so I enjoyed going to the QS places with the more unique desert options, like staring rolls at DHS.

I liked Yak and Yeti (quick service) in AK. Flame Tree was good, too.

In Epcot, we ate at Sunshine Seasons. They have a lot of different entrees there that are not just burgers and fries.

I agree with the previous poster about DHS. I don't remember many options besides hamburgers and pizza (park fare). I ate a turkey leg there, which I enjoy, but the other parks seem to have more QS restuarants that aren't just burgers, fries and pizza.

We stayed at POR and their pasta was a good value as well. Lots of pasta!

We love the hot Italian sandwich @ Catalina Eddies

Same basic combo plate as Cosmic rays can be found @ Fairfax Faire

And HUGE Turkey Sandwiches and the most devine desserts EVER @ Starring Rolls!


As far as "bang for buck" like a previous poster, we go for flavor and what we like best. Have never had a burger or hotdog @ WDW.

Don't mean to hijack, but my question is about the turkey sandwiches mentioned. Is it possible to get it without condiments? My daughter won't eat mayo or even anything resembling it.

AK - we always eat at Flame Tree (everything is good!)

MK - we love Pecos Bill's and Columbia Harbor House

Ep - Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in Norway (often overlooked, but the food is outstanding! (even gets and "excellent" rating in the Unofficial Guide!)

DHS - We love Catalina Eddie's and The ABC Commissary

I think this allows them to change the policy at any time at all or selected locations, without the need to re-print anything.

No, they come delivered pre-made. Starring Rolls is really small, there is no back kitchen area. That said, there is enough turkey in it for you to pick out a decent amount of plain meat to split with her, maybe scrape the condiments off one piece of the bread if she'll eat that?

Epcot-sunshine seasons
MK- Cosmic Rays of Columbia Harbor House(lunch)
DHS- Starring rolls for lunch
AK-Yak and Yeti cs...not so great,not too bad.
resort hotels, lots of good food courts and cs.....
there are cheeseburgers and chicken ceasar salads everywhere too- I personally HATE those little cakes in plastic boxes at cs meals, so I look for places that have other options for dessert. sad,I know
