I have been checking the disney app where you can see live Q times. We go in May and are there for memorial day weekend so I have been told to anticipate big crowds. I thought checking summer Q times would give me an idea of what to expect.
Anyway last night checked and there was a 240 min Q for soarin' @ Epcot. Do Q's really stretch to 4 hours at times? I cannot imagine me and my daughter's giving up half a day for a 5 min ride??!!

It's the official disney my magic + app. Having Googled it just now it does appear that it happens! I am shocked. I can't imagine joining a Q that is over 60 mins.

I can't even begin to imagine what a '4-hour wait' line would look like :scared1:

I can only imagine that, even if posted wait times were advertised at 240 minutes, people probably wouldn't believe it would be that long and would join the line :confused3

We generally won't join any lines if the posted wait times are over 60 minutes.

I cannot stress enough the importance of getting to a park for rope drop/opening, particularly during busy periods.

I think if that happens while we are there in August it will become a pool day. We have been on Soarin enough that we don't need to wait that long for it.

The biggest line I ever saw for Soarin was on New Years Eve, it was 7 hours!!!! I couldn't comprehend why you'd even entertain joining the line with that kind of wait :-)

If you plan well and use fast passes you shouldn't have a problem getting round the parks and on to everything you'd like to ride. We have been at Easter and Christmas quite a few times and it can be done honestly :-) we tend to arrive early and do our "must dos" first

We have done summer numerous times, christmas and Easter. I have never queued more than 20 minutes for anything. Get up early and use fast pass. Those types of lines need not be part of any Disney holiday if you are careful.

Assuming you can get a FP or have booked your FP+ well enough in advance

It's a really great ride and totally different to any other ride at WDW, but still, I would always go straight away and grab a fast pass before I do anything else at Epcot!

We are going the same time as you and have been at the same time on another year, we avoided WDW completely on Memorial day and went and did some shopping. We plan to do the same again this time. On the Sunday I believe we did a half day.

Might see you around :)

we've been on memorial day weekend before..
the crowds are nightmarish..

get to the parks before rope drop..

don't go to the EMH park...

don't get into a line that has a 240 minute wait!!

we won't get in a line that's longer than 20 minutes unless it's something brand new and there's no other way to see it....
but even then, there is no way i'd wait 240 minutes for anything....
except perhaps if at the end of the line they were giving away a lot of money....and i mean a lot....$1,000 would probably be my bottom limit!

Toy Story Mania regularly posted a 180 min wait for our trip last May.

However, here's a tip - clearly, less people will join the line if its a wait that long, so it will diminish quicker than that for people who join later on. I also learned that the majority of the time, wait times are overestimated.

Get the Lines app. They give you both the official wait time and the actual wait time that guests are reporting, so the actual time is much more accurate! We have found the Lines waiting times to be pretty much spot on - Disney less so!

My sentiments exactly. The longest wait I ever did was for TT the first time I went and that was 60 mins. Ended up being 45 but never again. There are people thst do though. Amazes me. 4 hrs !!waste of a day to me

Exciting zeebs! Let me know your flight details. Would be funny if we were on the same flight

We are flying into Miami and driving up, I couldn't get reasonable flights into Orlando and we wanted to use some airmiles as well.
