PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

That's fair. The one objection I have to this is the idea that Kona Cafe is consistently booked. It isn't. Right now there's a ton of availability over the next 10 days, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Personally, I wonder if it would make more sense to make Wailulu ADRs and turn Kona into a walk-up.
Unfortunately, it’s not an even swap. There are openings at Kona cafe because people are growing tired of it. Wailulu is new and exciting. Logistically, they each have very different effects on the property as an ADR option.

We don't plan much in advance and are often doing things on the fly. If it's busy around property and we're hungry we've made good use of the Kona and Capt Cooks To Go options in the past. I don't totally love the menu at either but Wailulu seems a little more interesting - very glad to see a To Go option there too. I will always miss (and be critical of Disney for not bringing back) private dining and the Twilight Feast from Ohana, but the To Go options are at least workable in many circumstances (although even those can have some lengthy waits during peak times).

I’m really liking what they did with the tower but I just saw a video that raises some interesting points I didn’t realize about the tower and first criticism’s I have heard that wasn’t “the tower doesn’t belong here!” Or “it’s ugly!”. It shows the standard views and a limited view from the duo studios, are all the standard views and duo studios like that?? Or is it too early to know?

I was thinking about this earlier today. I wasn't exhaustively searching videos/posts from the weekend but at least what pops up on my social media feed didn't have a single view or comment on rooms facing the front. Did Disney really not open anything on that side for media day? lol. I mean, I guess I understand - with the Floridian Way widening kind of a total mess, it's not the best of views at the moment.

Just a thought, Oasis pool (existing quiet pool) has no ADR. Wailulu is adjacent to the quiet pool at Island Tower. (It will be the pool bar).

If people at the Island Tower quiet pool had to go to Capt Cooks for food, just guessing people with legitimate access to the Island Tower pool will not be happy.

I asked the CMs this and they weren’t sure what the room qualifies as. But Touring Plans has these all as the premium Duo Studios and I think that’s the biggest scam of all the decisions they made. Should have just stuck with standard studios and had either the four 9/10 monorail views mixed with the 7 lake views as preferred and not have bothered making a special Duo ‘premium’ category. Or at the very least priced it by only a single point higher and not the same premium the regular studios pay for actual theme park views.

On the flip side, the vast majority of duo studios are standard views at least.

The standard duos have varying levels of the views being recessed on one side. Only the premium duos are ironically recessed on both ends of the unit, I believe.

Very interesting. I’d be hard pressed to pick a preferred view duo studio over a standard deluxe studio in the original longhouses when the points are the same. Curious to see how availability changes once the newness wears off.

I think they hit this out of the park. Beautiful building on a small footprint. After the initial opening months, I don’t foresee that many non-tower visitors coming over, especially if Wailulu remains non-ADR.

The impact on the lava pool is very much TBD…..
I’m going to pop over from VGF if they accept an online waitlist…. it looks about as close as the main GF lobby….

I appreciate a lot of this guy’s perspectives.

- No tiki torches is a miss!
- I’m glad no gift shop. Keeps the traffic lower.

Just checked into the room on the 7th floor. Ok, I officially think TPV is worth it. View over Polynesian for sunrise. We look directly over the wedding chapel to Cinderella’s castle. We see all the icons on the lagoon.

We did see @pkrieger2287 in the lobby, along with Jeff. Didn’t have a chance to say hi yet.

Some issues with elevators. Right now they are using keycards.

Make sure to look for the characters in the Murphy bed. Fun game for kids to find the characters in the Murphy bed mural (when pulled down).

The mobile “Join Walk-Up List” feature is live. Just like Geyser Point and other restaurants that have this option, it’s location based.

I tried to join. Reached the last stage when it should have completed. Popup indicated not available at this time. Did this from our Island Tower room. Enough people around today they may need to turn it off and require people to wait. 🤷‍♂️

Oh my gosh did this video feel like it was going on foooooorever.

I feel like we’ve spent years dissecting this building to its smallest details, it’s strange and lovely to finally be here in a room. The textures and finishes really are stunning. Got seated right next to DVCFan at Wailulu for lunch, I’m a chicken and didn’t say hello lol. Couple of other influencers and vloggers out and about, too.

Pretty smooth check in process but be aware if you’re Uber-ing here, you’ll likely have to let your driver know to come here instead of the GCH since it doesn’t come up on Uber’s search yet.
