PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

I’m having a hard time understanding disneys decision on the same association. From what I can tell there is absolutely no reason to buy direct if you buy poly points planning to stay there, and are already blue card through another purchase??
The most obvious benefit (to Disney) is that buyers will only have 41 years of ownership. Disney isn't obligated to offer 50 years on new resorts / associations, but it would have been a bad look if they made IT a separate association with only ~40 years remaining. Similar to the Big Pine Key addition at Grand Floridian, the one association gives DVC the rooms back about a decade sooner. And means they can continue selling as one unified property after this expiration.

Also I'm sure there are some operational benefits in terms of not running two sets of books for the same physical property.

Disney still has the ability to block resale owners from Riviera, Cabins, Disneyland Hotel and future destinations. Plus all of the perks like Sorcerer AP, lounges, Moonlight Magic, etc. The majority of their sales are to new buyers. I don't think they have to be overly concerned about sales stagnating over the volume of current owners adding-on via resale.

If you are going to stay there or one of the O14 resorts 100% of the time resale would be the way to go but with incentives that may change.

If you ever see yourself venture west VGC is hard to get into and you should be able to snag a studio at VDH if they were direct.

Man, this point chart is ROUGH.

I had done a prediction point chart. The 1BR are about 5% lower than I anticipated, and the 2BR S/P are within 2% of my expectations, but the 2BR TPV is 10% more than I expected.

A 2BR TPV in Season 1 is 523 points/week!! That's roughly 2x the price of a Standard at SSR/BLT/CCV.

It's obviously a premium view category, and I would gladly take a S/P view -- still super expensive, but not catastrophically so -- but with only lock-offs in those categories I really worry about availability. We'll probably look at SAP points instead, unless the incentives are niiiiccceeee. (Ha!)

Poly2 isn’t going to work out as well as VGF2 for me and my Sept UY.

We bought VGF2 June 2023 and it had 42 years of points left. We sold back one to bring the cost down but the next year of points that we kept were loading within months.

Buying Poly2 in 2025 will start with 41 years. If we sell back first year of points it’ll be a long time until next year of points loads.

I’m interested in Poly2 and patience remains the plan. Waiting a year or so for the strong incentives to arrive. I won’t buy in over $4.50pp/py. For sure not at $5pp/py. Shoot it was only a few years ago RIV had deals taking it to $3pp/py. Unless DVC comes out with something irresistible I’ll watch to see if Epic Universe changes how motivated they are to sell this.

It has been clarified that all PVB owners, adding on or not, will have the same booking rights.

But, if you don’t own PvB already, then yes, adding on now will allow you to book it as a home resort owner October 15th where the rest of us have to wait until end of November to use our non PVB points.
Right. Sorry if it was unclear. My point was that there is (as far as we know) no price advantage to existing members who add on when sales open. Thanks.

Sometimes there could be. Like with BPK, the first 150….ETA…500….got a luggage set.

So, we will have to see what they come out with and my assumption is it will be on October 1st.

So what is the first date non-Poly owners can start trading in?

We have VGF booked Nov 16-23 and Feb 2-7. I’d like to try switching out the Feb trip to Poly Tower. Is this going to happen while we’re at WDW in November?

Thanks. I'll hope for incentives then! But sadly I'm not holding my breath. Luggage will not move the needle for me. I already have luggage. If there are no good incentives the silver lining is I keep my money. Thanks.

it means the if you go to sell the points they won’t be restricted. It also gives you access to restricted resorts and currently means discounted annual passes and discounts on food/merch. YOU may not care about that, but a lot of people do.

If you sell a poly resale contract they won’t be restricted to the next person either.

You may have missed it in my post but I said what is the benefit if you already have blue card perks.

Actually, resale PVB could be of interest to us now when resale not good at RIv never has.

My DH liked RIV, but like VGF more more and since he might start coming more often, having two MK options might be okay.

So, since we have blue card and plenty of RIv eligible points, it means no need to buy direct…but we are still waiting until at least 2026
